Re: Rumour: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn Will Apparently Be Exclusive To New Nintendo 3DS

NinjaSyao

I just wish they'd do these re-releases on 3DS AND Switch! Especially with Wii games and Nintendo's art styles in general being very suitable for quick 1080p releases.

The 3DS doesn't need exclusives at this point anyway, it can compete with the Switch just fine thanks to its absolutely enormous library and far, far lower overall costs.
The cheapest 3DS variant being 80 bucks, game included, with games of 45 bucks or less vs Switch with a 300 price tag, no game included, and games costing 60... yeah! It can compete just fine).

Have to admit that I'm a bit biased against the 3DS family though. Never liked it's uncomfortable design, crappy resolution on a tiny screen and low battery life, always making me wish I could just play its games on something better...

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Producer Thanks Fans For Requesting Game On Nintendo Switch

NinjaSyao

"This video follows a recent chat with Switch Player, revealing the development of the Switch iteration began as soon as Nintendo announced its new hybrid system."

Funny how this version was already in development before they had the gall to ask us to port-beg and blackmail us with the whole "if Xenoverse 2 does well, we'll look into this game afterwards" message. Yeah, real funny...

Still gonna have a lot fun with this game as the demo was really badass, but I'll be buying their games used until they decide to treat us better. Bethesda and Ubisoft deserve my hard-earned money far more.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Pre-Orders Have Been Delayed Until Friday, More Details To Come

NinjaSyao

@wyzworld76

Yeah, I figured as much from what I've read and seen. But Yooka-Laylee is a collect-a-thon platformer, my favorite kind of platformer, and has far more meat on its bones.
So I reckon I'll get a lot more fun out of it than the 2-3 hours it took me to beat Shantae (I did enjoy Half-Genie Hero in a "good enough" kinda way) and the 6 more hours spend replaying the game until I got bored with it.

Seriously though, I just want a platformer that has actual good collecting to do after Mario Odyssey being such a massive let-down in that regard v.v

Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Pre-Orders Have Been Delayed Until Friday, More Details To Come

@paihia

Yeah, this game, no matter what website or forum, will always attract a lot of people screaming at you that the game sucks!
I wonder if it's just a really vocal minority that hates the game for some reason or whatever, because if you look at the general review ratings... most people seem to quite like the game, not love it or anything just like it.

I reckon I'll get more fun out of this game for 50 bucks then I did with Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, that one set me back 40 bucks for the physical edition and wasn't worth it imo.
It was a fun platformer with a charming cast and good humor, but really darn short and all the extra content was just re-hashing the few levels the game has with slightly different abilities.

@OorWullie

Just finished Battle Chasers: Nightwar and it's the same case of it being a very rough port. Very fun game, but all the stuttering, framerate issues and all the crashing AND the very long loading times kinda soured the experience for me at times.

Shame really. I like their games and commitment to releasing on as many systems as possible, but the quality of their ports is bad and hasn't improved at all v.v

Re: Octopath Traveler Ships One Million Copies Worldwide In Just Three Weeks

NinjaSyao

Awesome news and well deserved!

I'll get the game next year. Both the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC and Valkyria Chronicles 4 are coming out next month. That combined with me still needing to 100% Zelda is plenty to keep me busy this year ^^

Next year is looking very light on the RPG front outside of Fire Emblem, no I do not think DQXI will make it next year, so this and Indivisible will do nicely to fill that year for me ^_^

Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Summer Surprise Adds Free Blaster Master DLC And New "Jammies Mode"

NinjaSyao

I was hoping we'd get real new stages to jump through instead of more "re-play the old stages with slightly different abilities for the 10th time"...

Oh well, it's free and the Jammies Mode looks fun so can't complain too much fires up the game ^_^

PS

I really hope that if we get an Indie representative in Smash Bros. it's not Shovel Knight but Shantae. Shantae has been with us since the early days and deserves it more imo. Plus, you can do a lot of fun stuff for her moveset.

Re: Koei Tecmo Confirms Western Release For The Next Atelier Title, Due Out This Winter

NinjaSyao

Great news and will get it eventually as these games are awesome to just sit back and relax, but I recommend people to wait for the inevitable re-release with all the DLC and new content/trilogy pack to save money.
Koei Tecmo just loves doing that with this franchise and their DLC prices for the first releases of a game are ridiculous. 80 bucks season pass anyone? O.O

They just announced an Arland trilogy re-release with all the DLC and new stuff from the Vita versions on it.
Reckon the Dusk games are next (finally an Ayesha release on consoles with Japanese audio, whoo! ^^) and then we'll get a Mysterious trilogy pack most likely, or seperate "Plus" re-releases of the Mysterous games. I don't think the Mysterious games have Plus versions yet so...

But man! I love how we're getting all the niche Vita stuff now ^^

Re: Nintendo Still Has More To Share On Switch Online Before Launch

NinjaSyao

ability to message people/streaming services/themes/Eshop background music/voice chat on a system level WITH the ability to mute games/the special discounts actually being good, but I don't expect them to be...

Don't leave the mute option up to developers as they won't bother to add it and it was so darn annoying having to listen to people throw insults at me in Fall of Cybertron back on the PS3 >.<

Seriously, it needs to add all of this for me to be even remotely hype about the Online Service.

Re: My Hero One's Justice Arrives In The West On 26th October

NinjaSyao

@Tsurii

Yeah, that's surprising indeed. I do admit having stopped reading after the arc that the anime is on right now (figured there was no need to keep reading with the anime not taking years between seasons cough Attack on Titan cough) so don't know if he got some character development.

And how could I forget Bondrewd?! Such a shining example of parenthood that he truly has no equal xd

Re: My Hero One's Justice Arrives In The West On 26th October

NinjaSyao

I love the anime, but I just can't get hype for a game that looks like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 0.5.... and I really want to be hype, but a 3D arena fighter? Nah... v.v

Also, pre-order now to get Endeavor as a playable character, best dad in anime and a fan-favorite (sarcasm).

Re: Wolfenstein II Developer Says Switch Port Will Have No Compromises

NinjaSyao

As soon as the previous one comes as well I"ll be all aboard. Want to play through them both on Switch and have the full story, but if that doesn't happen I guess I'll settle for a sale on the PC at some point.
Would rather have it portable though.

I'm kinda worried about Doom Eternal though, the fact that there was no platforms confirmed at the end of the E3 trailer has me thinking they wanted to avoid any negativity surrounding the reveal because a lack of a Switch version.
Not feeling optimistic about the Switch version's chances v.v

Re: Video: Here's How Dragon Ball FighterZ Looks On Nintendo Switch

NinjaSyao

@RetroGamerAndrew

There are mods you can buy online to give the left Joy-con a D-pad and I've heard they work surprisingly well. I'm thinking about getting one just for this issue. The buttons are okay for some games, but man do they suck for diagonal inputs in fighting games!

@gortsi

Yeah, it sucks for the other developers. The indies and smaller 3rd parties have been putting in a lot of effort to support the Switch so they deserved a bigger spotlight.
I also feel kinda bad for that Crazy Justice game. Releasing on the same day as Paladins and Fortnite must suck on so many freakin' levels >.<

Re: Video: Here's How Dragon Ball FighterZ Looks On Nintendo Switch

NinjaSyao

@GrailUK

Using the previous Nintendo Direct to announce the game, riding the hype waves a direct brings by doing so and then shortly after delaying the Switch version (which ran great in demo booths, even Blighttown, so it doesn't look like technical issues) without giving a proper reason. Just said it was because of "causality", whatever the heck that means...

Just like with Dragonball FighterZ and their whole "make noise on Twitter and buy Xenoverse 2 and we MAY give you the game you want" stunt, Nintendo and its gamers had to work as their hype machine while being treated as 2nd class citizens when it comes to the actual releases.
I can see why Nintendo didn't want to spend too much time promoting Namco's game this time, especially with their own fighter being the big star of the show.

And this has been a pattern with Namco when it comes to Nintendo platforms ever since the Gamecube, but writing all those "f*** you" moments down will turn this into an essay so I'll leave it at this.

Re: Mega Man 11 Is Only Receiving A Digital Release In Europe

NinjaSyao

@RupeeClock

This actually depends on whether the SKU in the West is universal or not:

https://www.resetera.com/threads/resetera-i-was-sent-a-copy-of-mario-rabbids-pal-ver-by-mistake-would.15785/

^ 2nd post explains it. It's on a game-by-game basis when it comes to DLC compatibility. I have the US version of the Mario + Rabbids DLC and it works just fine with my European cart.
Splatoon does not work btw, Octopath Expansion is region locked due to different SKU's for all regions.
