Re: Talking Point: What We'd Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch

NCChris

To whoever typed this; They cannot make Pichu a costume swap for Pikachu because he is too small to program into Pikachu's model.
1 thing that is consistent with alternate characters under 1 slot is they all share the same sizes on their body shapes or at the very least are almost the same. I think Female Robin is slightly shorter than male Robin but the slight difference doesn't matter in terms of hitboxes.
Pichu, on the other hand, is much smaller than Pikachu and so to put Pichu as an alternate to Pikachu would create a bunch of problems due to the size difference.
Aside from that, I agree with the rest, good post overall!

Re: Weirdness: Desperation for NX Details Even Makes an Old Forum Post Interesting

NCChris

If you ask me, I think Nintendo does have a genuine reason to why they are doing it this way. They are doing with the NX similar to what they did with the Low Amiibo Stocks. Think about it; When Nintendo announced that amiibo restocks would not be for all amiibos, people went crazy. And whenever a new amiibo came out, people would make it their duty to go to the store first thing in the morning to make sure they got their hands on the 1 they wanted.
While not exactly the same with the NX; the business idea can be considered similar. Right now Nintendo fans are going crazy over this NX system, we want to know when it comes out, we want to know what it is, we want to know what games will be on it, there's all these questions we have and the more we're kept waiting, the more anxious we get.
If there's 1 thing companies love to use against us, it's our curiosity. By making us wait and drumming up our curiosity and impatience, Nintendo is almost certain to land a huge amount of attention to when this thing finally does get announced. I guarantee you that if they announced the NX was a thing and then revealed what it was after only a couple of months, the people wouldn't be as hyped because they have not had the chance to let their curiosity and interest reach peak levels.
If that really is what Nintendo is doing, then I say props to them for thinking this far ahead.

Re: Talking Point: The Pros and Cons of Nintendo's NX Secrecy

NCChris

@XCWarrior I'm sorry but I think the Facepalming part is abit uncalled for. I wasn't trying to say it will definitely come out at the same time, I was just throwing that into the equation. At the end of the day, Nintendo did announce the new Zelda and NX will be coming out in March 2017, if it was just mere heresy then there wouldn't be so many people reporting on it. In fact, I've just checked Nintendo's official twitter and it states that the new Zelda will be coming to the NX in March 2017 alongside the Wii U so yes, they did definitely announce that.

Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Taking 'Final Orders' on Wii U Consoles From Retailers

NCChris

The Nintendo Wii U is probably the saddest tale I've ever seen happen in my history of a video gamer.
What makes it so sad is the fact that the Wii U itself didn't deserve the treatment it got, there are some amazing quality titles on the Wii U but the reason it didn't sell well was because Nintendo handled it poorly. It had very little advertisement, a very weak launch window, and a history of 3rd party neglect due to the weak specs for a console.
The system itself is amazing, I've played my Nintendo Wii U tons since I got it in 2013 and I've loved many of the games that have appeared on it. Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros Wii U, Pokken Tournament, Super Mario Maker, Hyrule Warriors, Yoshi's Woolly World, Super Mario 3D World, and even the HD ports of Zelda The Wind Waker and Zelda Twilight Princess were awesome. And that's not counting games I ain't played like Xenoblade Chronicles X, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and Bayonetta 2!
All of these games are fantastic but they simply were not enough to give the console a solid chance.
Nintendo, if there's any good thing that can come out of the Wii U, besides the games I just listed, it's the chance that you've learned from your failure and will work to make the NX amazing and not have the same issues with that console as the Wii U has.

Re: Fan-Made Title Pokémon Uranium Is Officially Dead

NCChris

I think we should look at this and learn from it; If you have the talent and software to create a video game, don't take anything from Nintendo, just create your own game and who knows? Maybe it'll take off really well.
With the amount of popular websites these days, you have plenty of people to try your game and if they like it, they can promote it via their website or social media platforms like YouTube.
Just stay away from Nintendo, heck I'd even stay away from anything Copyrighted because at least then you know your work isn't going to be taken down, you can even charge for it if you so desire.

Re: The Dolphin Emulator Can Now Play the Entire GameCube Library

NCChris

@Phin68 I don't think Nintendo can take down the Emulator itself. It's more the games that they go after because obviously that contains the content itself.
And besides, it's actually legal to emulate games so long as you delete the game after 24 hours, this apparently counts as a demo.

Re: Talking Point: What Approach Should Nintendo Take With Its NX Reveal?

NCChris

Here's what I think they should do; Hold a conference and put a direct into said conference!
By doing it this way, they could attract a huge audience for people to get excited and anyone online can view the presentation from home. Since this is Nintendo, they surely will attract a huge audience in the conference and the rest can have their fill with a streamed direct.
That's how I think they should do it.

Re: We Have To Do A Better Job Of Explaining The Uniqueness Of NX, Admits Reggie

NCChris

If you ask me, the screen on the Wii U Gamepad was a brilliant idea and I'd be lying if I said I have not made good use of it.
1 of the major advantages I love about the Wii U Gamepad is you can play many games on it without even turning on the TV. Sure there are some games like Splatoon where the TV is needed but 95% of the games on the Wii U can be played on the gamepad Exclusively.
This is why I at least hope that the NX will have the option of supporting the Wii U Gamepad. It should not be the main focus of the system but it is still a concept I would like to see stick around.

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Pokémon Sun and Moon?

NCChris

Right now, my biggest concern is Mega Evolution. I absolutely loved this feature in Pokemon X and Y but I am worried that this feature is going to be cut for Pokemon Sun and Moon.
I watched Shady Penguin and Shofu's video on this subject and I must confess, the points that Shady brought up to why Mega Evolution may be cut were very good.
Considering how hyped I was to see what new Mega Evolutions would be given to existing Pokemon, this would be a double deal breaker for me as not only would I not be getting the Mega Evolutions I am already loving but there would be no new ones to enjoy as well.
Aside from this concern, I'm really excited for the games! However should they be removed, I actually might not buy them.

Re: Nintendo Issues Takedown Notices for Impressive Fan-Made Metroid II Remake, AM2R

NCChris

It's really sad that things have to be this way. I've watched videos of this game and it's really amazing. I wasn't gonna bother downloading it because I'm not a fan of Metroid but nevertheless, it was really good.
That said, Nintendo does have the rights to do this, they claim this is to protect their IP's but the problem with that is they should base these projects on their quality and not it being their IP's. This game clearly could have done wonders for the Metroid franchise and Nintendo could have even arranged to put it on the eShop and make money off of it but nope, instead they had to be douchebags and do this.
I could understand if the game was horribly made and made Metroid look bad but this clearly was not the game.
Shame on you Nintendo, you are within the laws to do this, but that does not make it any less asinine.

Re: Someone At Nintendo Expected The Wii U To Shift 100 Million Units

NCChris

Nintendo, are you for real!? The fact that people at Nintendo thought that a system with a gimmick nobody wanted and such a weak launch window would sell this much is beyond insane.
Yeah I know a few employees does not represent the entire company but perhaps if there were less people like that there and Shigeru Miyamoto making up rubbish excuses that the Wii U failed because of tablets then perhaps the system would have been better!
I own a Wii U and I've really enjoyed my time with it but even I'm not blind enough to think that such as system would sell over 100 million units.
Nintendo, I've loved my history with you but if you keep up rubbish like this, then you can kiss my money goodbye, I'd rather give it to Sony or Microsoft.
