Re: Another Three Mario Tennis Aces Characters Officially Unveiled, Available Later This Year

NCChris

@Yorumi I don't see why you're complaining, it's not like Nintendo is making you pay even more money for these characters, sure you technically pay for them when the game comes out but they've been doing something similar to this with Splatoon and everyone was fine with it so what's the problem here?
If you want bad, try a game that has content on the disk/cartridge that's still being locked behind a paywall, now that's something to complain about.

Re: Review: BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle (Switch)

NCChris

@Shiryu Considering the pricing in the US, I'd say it's fair. Over there it's $49.99 for the base game with $69.99 for the entire package complete with all the DLC.
$69.99 for a 40 character roster as well as a full English Dub is a great deal in my opinion as that's basically the standard price of $59.99 with the DLC set at $10 which is much cheaper than what most games combined with DLC cost.

Re: Random: Kamiya Threatens To "Lose Motivation" For Bayonetta 3 Unless Nintendo Grants His Switch Wishes

NCChris

I really don't know what to think of this guy. I get that he has a sense of humour but to me, humour has it's limits and when your idea of "humour" is randomly blocking people on Twitter as well as threatening something like this, I think you're taking it too far.
Even I've been blocked on Twitter by this guy and to be honest, all it's done is made me not want to buy any game this dude develops because in my opinion, why should I part with money I've earned to a guy that's blocked me for no reason?
Sorry, I just don't like the guy, which is a shame because I normally have a lot of respect for game developers.

Re: Feature: These Five Switch Accessories Are Too Stupid to be True

NCChris

@Damo I'm glad the issue is resolved but in future I recommend trying to be more civil about it. I personally don't agree with what Alternate Buttons said as I really like Alex's video style but the way you responded was very unprofessional and in my opinion was actually worse than what Alternate Buttons said.
Criticism is something you're always going to get on the Internet especially when you're as popular as Nintendo Life is, I have a very small following on my Youtube channel and even I've had to deal with criticism.
I guess what I'm trying to say is take this experience and learn from it.

Re: Feature: These Five Switch Accessories Are Too Stupid to be True

NCChris

@Damo If we are going by your logic here, that means anyone that is not more popular than Nintendo cannot criticize Nintendo which by your logic means you should be against Nintendo Life because they are way less popular than Nintendo is.
Do you see why this logic of yours falls in of itself? Take that garbage and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Re: Sounds Like Bandai Namco Really Is Working on Metroid Prime 4

NCChris

@Chibi Hold on, what's wrong with Nintendo "farming their IP's" to 3rd parties? Team Ninja did a fantastic job with Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors and Sakurai with Sora did a great job with Smash Bros that has plenty of Nintendo IP in it.
Also, what's wrong with Bandai Namco making Metroid Prime 4? They make good games.

Re: Guide: All The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild amiibo Unlocks

NCChris

@speedracer216 No, you can only scan an amiibo once per day, if you try to do it again, the game simply comes up with a message telling you the amiibo cannot be scanned again for that day.
The main difference is there is no limit on how many amiibo you can scan so if you have a ton of amiibos, you can scan them all for a ton of free gifts.

Re: Poll: Six Months of the Switch - What Do You Think of Nintendo's Console Hybrid?

NCChris

I honestly couldn't be happier with my Nintendo Switch. Zelda Breath of the Wild is my new favourite Zelda game and Splatoon 2 is an absolute joy to play. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe I do love but most of that love comes from the fact I love the original as well. Easily my least favourite game but still awesome nonetheless.
However, if there's just 1 thing I'd say that needs to be improved, it's the stock issue. Obviously this doesn't apply to me because I own 1 but I really want people to be able to get in and enjoy this fantastic console, in a way I actually feel guilty for being able to play on this system while knowing others cannot do the same due to the stock issues.
Overall, absolutely amazing experience and with Pokken Tournament DX, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Super Mario Odyssey on the way, it can only get better.

Re: Some Retail Nintendo Switch Games Will Require You To Own A MicroSD Card

NCChris

The biggest problem I can see this causing is it could deter 3rd Parties from bringing their games to the Nintendo Switch.
They could think to themselves "Well we could put this on the Nintendo Switch but our game is far too big so the consumer would need to buy a MicroSD Card to make up for the space....nah, let's not bother and just focus on Playstation 4 and Xbox One".
I admit I may be thinking too much into this and maybe it's not as bad as people are saying it is but if I am right, which I really hope I'm not, then this could mean the Nintendo Switch will have the same problem as Nintendo Wii U which cannot be a good thing.

Re: You'll Be Able To Sacrifice Resolution For Frame Rate In Fire Emblem Warriors On Switch

NCChris

I'm fine with 720p at 60FPS
1080p is great and all but not at the expense of 60FPS so I'll be sticking to 720p at 60FPS.
Also, people need to realize that this game has a ton more animation than other Nintendo Switch Games so expecting 1080p at 60FPS on this scale of a game is too much to ask for a Nintendo Console.
If this was Playstation 4 or modern gaming PC then yeah, I'd agree but Nintendo ain't about power, they're about quality of games.

Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

NCChris

I've got an idea to all this; Why not let people pay in advance and Nintendo will produce SNES Minis that are in line with the number of orders they receive?
For example, let's say they announce a re-run of SNES Minis and 1 million people pay in advance and once said SNES Mini is made, they ship it out to the consumer and then rinse and repeat.
Sure, the con would be that you pay in advance and likely would have to wait a good while but is that really any different from what we're having now?

Re: Editorial: Is This a Golden Era of Gaming? Absolutely

NCChris

I'm sorry but no, this is not the Golden Era of Gaming.
I'm not gonna deny that we do have some amazing things right now but there are many things wrong with gaming of today but to name a few
1. DLC is abused by companies as a way of pulling more money from our wallets. Same goes for Micro-transactions.
2. The price costs of gaming today is ridiculous. And not just for the games themselves.
3. A lot of games are missing what we loved from the past like fighting games lacking modes and characters we adore, and so on.

Am I denying I love gaming today? Hell no, I love many of what gaming today has to offer but saying this is the Golden Age? No way, not even close.

Re: Oddworld Creator Lorne Lanning "Has No Faith" In Switch

NCChris

The part about Nintendo Promoting Indie Titles while his game got no promotion is what made me facepalm here.
Lorne, you've seen massive success with Oddworld and you even said you made plenty of money off of it. Indie titles on the other hand have next to no promotion outside of YouTubers so they deserve it way more than you do.
Also, you see a similar success as with the Wii U? Dude, the Wii U was dead during it's launch! The Switch is doing way better than the Wii U was! Even to the point where everywhere is sold out and people are angry they can't buy this new system! What planet is this guy living on? Oh right, he's on the planet of jealousy because his game didn't do well on Nintendo's Console.
As for the Iwata comment, that's just horrible, very disrespectful and terrible choice of words.

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Spotlight, Treehouse and Splatoon 2 Invitational Footage from E3 - Day One

NCChris

Unless the Treehouse has more surprises, my biggest disappointment was no Smash Bros. Even if we had gotten a Smash Bros 4 Deluxe, I would have been super-happy. And considering they had a port of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and have a Pokken Tournament Port coming, I was sure they'd be willing to port over Smash Bros 4 with new content.
My only other disappointment was no Animal Crossing but I can tolerate that for now.
All in all, I liked this E3 but it's not my favourite, that still goes to E3 2014.
