Re: Video: 10 Things We Still Don't Know For Certain About Super Mario Maker 2

NCChris

@Tandy255 Honestly, I don't think that's needed, while it would be nice to have them carry over, we'd soon fill the servers with brand new levels. Plus I'm expecting this game to sell even better than the first as it's being placed on a platform with thousands more active players. Not to mention it can be played on the go so people will even be able to make levels while they're out.

Re: Video: 10 Things We Still Don't Know For Certain About Super Mario Maker 2

NCChris

I probably am reading into this too much but 1 concern I have is just how much content the 3D World style has.
I dunno why but judging from what we saw, it looked to me like that style has so much more that the other 4 styles will end up being overshadowed and will be ignored by the community due to them being "inferior versions".
I really want to be wrong on that but that's the impression I got when I saw the direct.

Re: Meow Motors Is A New Switch Racer Just Like Mario Kart, But With Lots More Cats

NCChris

@ShinyUmbreon I know you meant well but if I may offer some advice; Calling people "idiots" isn't a good way to calm them down, all that's going to do is make them even more willing to carry on.
As for your original comment, again I know you meant well but the tone you took was like a Parent telling a couple of kids to knock it off. While I admit I heavily disagree on a lot of what Yorumi says, himself and TAndvig sure as hell don't act like children so to take such an approach is again only going to add more fuel to the flame.
There's a difference between know what to do and knowing how to go about it.

Re: Meow Motors Is A New Switch Racer Just Like Mario Kart, But With Lots More Cats

NCChris

@TAndvig Dude, take my advice, put this 1 on your ignore list. I've given plenty of rebuttals to some of the crap he's come up with and yet all he's done is carried on saying the same thing despite me providing arguments against it.
Hearing you say "You just purposefully ignored everything I said" comes as absolutely no surprise to me.
Also, from what I can read on your side, it seems you've already been hit with the "You insulted me" card, another lazy tactic he likes to employ.
Honestly, I wish he'd leave this site, he's obviously just here to drum up drama.

Re: Meow Motors Is A New Switch Racer Just Like Mario Kart, But With Lots More Cats

NCChris

@Realness Well see, that's the thing, this is an indie game so of course it's not going to "Dethrone the King".
Indie games never attempt to match the big leagues because they know they will be stomped big time. As awesome as Shovel Knight is, do you really think he has what it takes to take down Super Mario? Of course not, that's borderline insanity.
Just because Meow Motors is clearly trying to be a kart racer does not mean it's automatically trying to best Mario Kart, it's an indie games hence why it's prices are a lot lower than your standard Triple AAA games.

Re: Meow Motors Is A New Switch Racer Just Like Mario Kart, But With Lots More Cats

NCChris

@Realness I really wish this mentality would go away. Just because a video game ends up being similar to another doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. It's called genres dude, there's always going to be games that are similar, doesn't mean developers should throw in the towel and give up.
In fact, I say they should do the opposite, if they've got something to measure up to, it can actually drive (no pun intended) them to try harder.
Look at Shovel Knight, that game took a lot from other platformers and yet that game is fudging awesome, you didn't see Yacht Club Games throw in the towel because it "ended up being too similar to Super Mario" now did you? Neither should companies like this.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11's $100 Premium Edition Contents Revealed

NCChris

@Shambo Geez Dude, if you're getting so upset at being called "Bro" then you really are too sensitive.
And this roster isn't "small", 25 characters is actually pretty good by today's standards, you want small? Look at vanilla Street Fighter V and Pokken Tournament, now that's a small roster.
And that's another thing, this game was made from the ground up so all it's content is fresh and new, do you even realize how much work has to go into making just 1 character? Sometimes it can take almost a year to make just 1 character and considering how detailed each fighter is in Netherealm's Games, getting 25 at the beginning is actually very commendable.
And that's another thing, fighting games aren't just the roster, there's plenty other things to account for as well such as stages, the story, game modes, and so on. If you're only focusing on the roster, that's your problem.
Oh also, I don't know where you're getting 70 Euros from, most places I've seen are asking 60 Euros or less.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Netherealm Studios have never forced micro-transactions on you, Injustice 2 had it but at no point was it forced, you could still unlock the content normally.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11's $100 Premium Edition Contents Revealed

NCChris

@Shambo That's the part people like you don't seem to get.
The base game IS the finished product, any DLC that comes after is just extras on top.
If they charged standard price for what you deem to be the "Finished game", they would lose a ton of money as then they would be putting more into the product and wouldn't get much of it back.
If we rewind back to 1990's when Mortal Kombat 1 came out but DLC had already become a thing, you would have been paying for the base game for the same price and any DLC on top of that would have costed you extra.
It's basic finance, bro.

Re: Mortal Kombat 11's $100 Premium Edition Contents Revealed

NCChris

People really need to back up here and hold off their judgement.
Believe me, I've played Netherealm's Injustice games in the past and they never have disappointed me in terms of content. I will openly admit I purchased Injustice 2 Ultimate edition for £80 and I didn't regret it a bit because the amount of content I got for that was amazing. There was a good story, tons of customization, loads of characters complete with plenty of pre-battle quotes, some even character specific, and the amount of game modes was awesome.
And that's before counting any of the DLC.
Also, before anyone comes at me saying "Well ur just a MK fanboy", actually I don't like Mortal Kombat, while I won't deny they are well made games, the blood and gore just is not for me. I gave Mortal Kombat 9 a shot and while I did think it was a well made game, it just wasn't suited to my tastes.

Re: 3DClouds Responds To Criticism Of The Switch Version Of Xenon Racer

NCChris

Sorry 3DClouds but it's too late, you immediately lost me the minute you thought it was okay to advertise this game on the eShop with the presentation of the Playstation 4/Xbox One version.
If you had just not done that and advertised the Nintendo Switch version properly, I would have happily returned my copy and then purchased the Playstation 4 version as then the mistake would have been on me but no, you decided to take this route and for that, I refuse to give you a penny of my hard earned cash.

Re: Feature: The Best Online Multiplayer Games On Nintendo Switch

NCChris

As much as I love the game, Smash Bros Ultimate's online needs work. The issue of running into matches that I don't care for is still present and I also feel Squad Strike should have online functionality.
The worst part is to me, the easiest fix to the online is to just add in a decline option. When the game finds an opponent, it selects either your rules or your opponents but then it should present said rules to both players and if you're not okay with them, you have the option to decline it.

Re: Sakurai Battled Through Health Issues With An IV Drip During Smash Ultimate Development

NCChris

@Yorumi Okay, first off, that's definitely not all we hear about. If you want a clear cut history of everything we know about the man, watch Did You Know Gaming's episode on his History leading up to Smash Bros Ultimate.
Secondly, Sakurai is a big name within Nintendo so of course anything he declares to the world will naturally be magnified. Why do you think he gets so many interviews? People want to hear his story and what he has to go through.
Finally, that still doesn't make it so he "broadcasts it to the world". Like I said before; He's just answering questions, it's not like he's taking to the Internet and boasting to the world just how much struggling he has to do to give us Smash Bros. And I sure as hell don't believe he wants us to worship him and revere him as some sort of martyr, as you claim he does.

Re: Review: BlazBlue Centralfiction Special Edition - Well Worth The Wait For Fighting Game Fans

NCChris

@JamesJose7 If you really care about the characters you're playing as, start with BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend on the Playstation 3, it has a remaster of the original story and has it's own story to boot. Then you have BlazBlue Chronophantasma which is the sequel and then finally this 1. To be fair though, BlazBlue Central Fiction does have short story recap at the beginning of it's story but I'm not too sure if it will suffice for a newcomer.
I will warn you though; The story is presented like a visual novel with some fights sprinkled out and it can get very confusing.

Re: Review: BlazBlue Centralfiction Special Edition - Well Worth The Wait For Fighting Game Fans

NCChris

@gloom BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is essentially a spin-off that takes the base engine from actual BlazBlue Games and modifies it.
It also, of course, is made to be a crossover game that takes a lot of the franchises that Arc System Works owns and throws them into the mix. It also threw in 4 characters from the RWBY series.
Personally, I say this 1 is the superior game, the character roster has every single playable character from the BlazBlue series and the issue with BlazBlue CTB is they had to strip away a lot of the movesets for the characters due to making room for the Tag-Team mechanics.

Re: Ken, Daisy And Young Link amiibo All Release This April

NCChris

@shoeses Technically, if we are going by that logic, Toon Link should be the echo since Young Link was here first.
And you can't say "Toon Link plays too differently" because then you're entire argument falls apart and Young Link sure as hell doesn't play like regular Link.
