Re: Fantasy Life Producer Keiji Inafune Says He Will Do His "Best" To Improve The New Entry

NCChris

@-wc- I still own my copy and I can tell you I absolutely loved Fantasy Life. The entire "Life System" at first can seem like it's boring but my gosh it's not. The general idea of you making your own weapons, items, etc really is appealing.
The story is abit basic, nothing that really stands out, but it honestly still enjoyable.
I absolutely recommend trying to get a copy if you can.

Re: Feature: The Best Smash Bros. Ultimate Character Trailers, Ranked By You

NCChris

@PikaPhantom I agree with a lot of this but I disagree on Kazuya.
A lot of people actually had the impression that Heihachi was always going to be the pick for Tekken and for the majority of the trailer, even if you recognise the music, you think it's Heihachi.
But then when it's revealed you suddenly realize "Oh! It's Kazuya! Not Heihachi!" which even for me was a nice twist as I instantly recognised the music and what was about to go down.

Re: Poll: What Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 DLC Racer Are You Most Excited About?

NCChris

@Banjo- Yeah see, that would be a good argument if we were actually paying for the characters but these are literally bonus additions that they didn't even need to do. It's called the Booster COURSE pack, they had no reason to add characters but they did it anyway.
And on top of that, they actually did put in a lot of characters people wanted. People have been asking for characters like Birdo, Diddy, Funky, Kamek, and Petey for ages and they added them! But nah, let's just focus on the 1 clone and complain about that.
This is the same thing that happened with Smash Bros 4 when Dark Pit and Lucina were added.

Re: Poll: What Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 DLC Racer Are You Most Excited About?

NCChris

The comments on here really do make me question Nintendo Fans sometimes.
They literally did not need to add more characters, when we paid for the booster course pass we expected courses and nothing else. Not only did they give all that we paid for but we also got 8 new characters!
But nah, screw that, let's just complain that the last character is another Peach. I admit I would have preferred someone else too but I'm still very grateful for even getting more characters to begin especially since they didn't need to do it.

Re: Talking Point: Would A Third Wave Of Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Have Been Too Much?

NCChris

Ending the DLC for this game was a mistake both from a content perspective and from a business perspective.
At this point, unless they somehow manage to port SSBU, they are already way past the point of having the next game surpass this game's roster so they may as well throw that reason to the wayside.
It also doesn't help that there's still plenty of viable picks for them to use. There was no Pokemon from gen 8, Monster Hunter, Dante, Geno, Rayman, Isaac, Waluigi, Bandana Waddle Dee, Dixie Kong, Lara Croft, and so on.
Say what you want about the quality of the courses but at least they had the right idea with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, that game has sold so well and I've no doubt that was 1 of the main factors to why they decided to bring DLC to it. Smash Bros, while hasn't sold as well as that game, has still sold over 30 million copies which is absolutely insane and yet they are just....sitting on it. It's even worse when you realize it ended when the Nintendo Switch still had plenty of life left in it, they could have made so much money with the time between then and now but...nope.

And I know some may say "But 3 waves is too much" but let me tell you 3 waves is nothing by todays standards. Street Fighter V, a game that sold less than half of what SSBU did, got 5 SEASONS of DLC and those games have way more put into 1 character than a single Smash Bros character does.
The same example can be used for Tekken 7 and Dragonball FighterZ as those games also got plenty of DLC despite not selling nowhere near as well.
It also helps that Smash Bros characters typically already have a movepool to work with as all the characters aren't new but are rather pulled from already existing IP's. Meanwhile games like Street Fighter and Tekken have brand new characters that need to be made from scratch.

So no, absolutely not would it have been "too much", if anything they did too little with DLC.

Re: Video: We Share Our Thoughts On Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom After 100+ Hours In The Game

NCChris

@PinderSchloss Nobody is saying you have to stop, it's up to you if you wanna say the same thing over and over again. I was just pointing out that you've told us all the same stuff again and again.
Also, you can't really claim you don't care what I think while also directly responding to me, clearly you do care to some extent.

1 last thing too while I'm here, people are allowed to give 10/10 if they want to, that's the beauty of opinions, I also would give this game a 10/10 as I'm absolutely loving it, doesn't mean you have to do the same, you could give it a 1/10 if you felt that way and you'd still be valid as, again, that would be your opinion.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Version 2.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

NCChris

@PinderSchloss I've played a lot of games that have DLC and I can promise you the Xenoblade Games definitely do not "hold back" content to make DLC.
Xenoblade games are always crammed with content at the very start, to claim it's in the same ballpark as games like Street Fighter V, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and Fallout 76 that actually do hold back on content for DLC is very ignorant.

Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Champion In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

NCChris

@chefgon Personally, I do like Revali but for me he's the worst of the best.
I cannot deny he has amazing skill and absolutely wipes the floor with anyone in aerial combat save Calamity Ganon but his "rivalry" with Link just feels....basic, like a standard anime rivalry for pretty standard reasons.
It also doesn't help that Link doesn't really seem to care about their rivalry and more just looks at Revali as someone he wants to befriend.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@EriXz But many influencers are influencers because they take the "YouTube Game" and put their own spin-on it.
Yeah sure, maybe just sitting down and playing games can't be considered a real job but many content creators, especially professional ones, have studios built into their homes, their own websites (Like this one), merchandising, their own conventions, and so on. Not to mention they have multiple incomes of revenue from Patreon, Merchandising, Sponsors, and of course YouTube Ad Revenue.

Also, if that's how you see it, doesn't that mean a Librarian wouldn't be considered a "real job"? I mean all they do is base their work around working in a library and not make the library about them so...is that also not a real job?

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@KayFiOS Keep in mind this is just from my own knowledge and from what I've seen so don't take this as fact but generally Nintendo seems to leave you be if you do not upload anything involving mods. The way it seems to work is if they spot you uploading mods it tends to make them target your entire channel, even videos that are within their rules, but if you have zero mods on your channel and only upload footage of games that are in-line with what Nintendo releases, that seems to keep them off your back.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@HeadPirate
That's not really a good comparison though, 1 is very clearly cut-and-dry, being a hitman is illegal, most of the population will agree murder is wrong.
But this? This is a very gray area that, as shown by this page, is very debateable with many on both sides. I personally am on the side that Nintendo should allow mods because of all the positive things modding has done for the community, it could even lead to Nintendo selling even more games, many companies get this, why doesn't Nintendo?

Also, you say what I am saying is silly, but here you are telling me that my channel should be taken down.....except for the fact that Nintendo has a page on their website that lists the do's and don't's for making videos with their games and I'm 100% within their guidelines so no, I shouldn't be taken down, I don't even dabble in mods as they're not for me personally.

@Scapetti Oh come on, whenever you get a game that allows for a sort of builder you always get a group of people that misuse it and make crude things. Also, what does this even have to do with the topic at hand?
And not everyone has been demanding, some people have politely conversed with Nintendo and asked them to be co-operative but they just refuse to listen and then go after people like PointCrow who are supporting them while also making a living off of it. Yeah so they monetize their videos? Many gameplay channels do, even Nintendo channels, that doesn't mean it's okay to shame them or wish for their world to crumble.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@Scapetti I'm actually wondering how many of these "Smash Bros Ultimate Stages" you've seen that you think are modded but actually are made in the game's stage builder.
Also, This whole "Permission" thing you're going on about is exactly the point! The community has been trying to get permission from Nintendo to allow modding for YEARS! If Nintendo just backed off and allowed it like so many other companies have, this entire mess wouldn't be an issue.
It's like you think we can just trot up to the big N and kindly ask "Can we please get permission to mod your games?", like that's not what the community has been trying to do for ages now.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@HeadPirate Well yeah...of course they did it deliberately. They manually went over his channel and struck him because they aren't happy with mods. And technically yes they have put his livelihood at risk because PointCrow's entire channel is focused around modding Nintendo games and has been for years now.
Nintendo doesn't take down everyone, I've uploaded hundreds of videos of Nintendo games and not had a single issue and I'm a less-than-small channel, there are people out there that have uploaded thousands of videos of Nintendo's games and they've been allowed to fly.
I really don't get what you're trying to say here...

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@Jappio The thing is; It's no secret that Nintendo is against mods but that's why this debate keeps happening because many of us keep trying to explain to Nintendo that mods aren't the big bad thing they seem to think it is. And whenever they do respond they unfairly group modders with piracy which only further proves how out-of-touch they are.
Is Nintendo in the right legally? I personally believe they are not in the right because at the end of the day they are not losing anything to this and in fact could even gain from it if they just embraced like many others have. Yeah there was that lawsuit from the 90's but that's from a different time, we didn't even have YouTube back then! Politics need to move with the times and this is a prime example of when it's stuck in the past.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod YouTube Videos Are Getting Copyright Strikes

NCChris

@Scapetti But those profits aren't being generated from the mods, they are being generated from ad-revenue which is very different. If you're gonna make the argument that Modded Video Game content can't be monetized then that means all video game content can't be monetized.
And besides, Nintendo has no reason to do this, they are basically being that spoiled kid that refuses to share his toys because "they're his".
These people are doing what they do out of sheer love for the company, they are not Nintendo's enemies, and this is how they are treated? It doesn't matter if Nintendo is "legally" in the right, even though I still disagree they are, they still don't need to do this to people that only want to support them.
