Yacht Club Games Would Love To Make More Shovel Knight amiibo

I don't care for Nintendo's SCamiibo so sorry I wouldn't care for more Shovel Knight SCamiibo either. It's not a slight on the game, that's great. Anyway, I think this fad is dying off, well hopefully.

I wonder If I scan Shovel Knight Amiibo for my Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo game and see what will happen...

@Anti-Matter : It won't do anything. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is only compatible with Animal Crossing amiibo figures and Series 1-4 of the amiibo cards.

I may be wrong, but I strongly doubt that the Series 5 collection of amiibo cards (that coincided with the Welcome Amiibo update for New Leaf) and Sanrio collection (comprised of 6 cards) are compatible with Amiibo Festival or Happy Home Designer as they were specifically intended for use in New Leaf.

Please no. There are already so many superfluous amiibo as it is. Yes, they are all arguably superfluous, but there are so many Mario and Link varieties now that it's completely ridiculous. Any amiibo that does not unlock content that was intended to be subsidised via sales of the amiibo (such as Toad and Shovel Knight), or otherwise does not have Read/Write functionality with any game should not exist.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I know this is just a baiting message, but i have to reply. I think we all know how you feel about Amiibos, but some of us like them, not for the unlocking abilities but for the look of them.

If you don't care about things, don't comment, easy as that!

Little question about Amiibo cards series 1 - 4 for Amiibo Festival.
After new Update from Nintendo, is Amiibo Festival Wii U still worthed to play or still MEH as before ?

@Anti-Matter : The update is for Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS, not for Amiibo Festival. Amiibo Festival has had no updates or patches since its release. Amiibo Festival supports all Animal Crossing series amiibo figures and Series 1-4 amiibo cards out of the box. New Leaf requires a free download in order to support the figures and amiibo cards (as amiibo did not exist at the time that New Leaf was originally released).

But yes, Amiibo Festival has always been "meh".

I wish I could find a Shovel Knight amiibo at all. Looks so nice.
Once i've got that one, sure I'd possibly go for some of the other ones too. Those characters have some cool designs

@SLIGEACH_EIRE amiib- sorry, SCamiibo, aren't dying off. Nintendo's using them in a lot of there games, at least 3 lines have came out within the last few months, and even indie titles are getting their own amiib- whoops, I mean SCamiibo.

Considering that they are removing functionality (isn't co op going to other systems now?) I wouldn't see the point in them having other amiibo. I have tons of amiibo I can scan generically into games. I would rather amiibo that have a use like the smash and zelda lines.

Don't forget the inevitable Shovel Knight Smash Bros Amiibo, oops... Sorry @SLIGEACH_EIRE I meant SCamiibo.

For me, bring it on!!! Need to extend my collection. And I'd rather pay for both a physical Collector item with dlc bonuses any day.

I mean, I'd be alright with this - but we certainly don't need more Mario/Link Amiibo. Especially when we don't have a dedicated game for all amiibo (like Skylanders but not a complete tool of a game).

@OzHuski Trolls gotta troll. I happen to really enjoy amiibo. As a kid I always wanted Nintendo toys, but the few that were made (that I could find) were usually cheap and dumb looking. Then I grew up, and now I can collect amiibo (high quality, inexpensive statues that also offer ingame bonuses) and World of Nintendo (average quality, inexpensive action figures). Being an adult with money rocks!

I only have a smallish collection of Amiibo, but Shovel Knight is one of them. I saw it as a way to say "thank you" to Yacht Club for making such a great game at a reasonable price. Then they gave me a free game for buying Shovel Knight with another incoming. I'll buy as many Amiibo as they put out to show my support. Thank you Yacht Club!

@SLIGEACH_EIRE - Dude, why beat your opinion on Amiibo to death like this? EVERYone knows already. I imagine you loudly and aggressively sharing your opinion on Amiibo with random passers by on the street. Also, ScAmiibo is not nearly as clever as you think. As a pun, I rate it 5/10, "Okay".

I wouldn't mind adding Plague, Specter, and King Knight to my collection, but Troupple King is more deserving of his own amiibo, one that is bigger than the Guardian amiibo and spits out Ichor.

Exactly why I like em! Affordable little figurines that look really nice, not to mention characters we wouldn't get otherwise. I mean World of Nintendo is nice and cheaper, but they lack variety. Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Splatoon. That's all I ever see.

You know, we never did get Bayonetta. I guess she got skipped over for a bajillion more Zelda amiibo and 3 more Fire Emblem ones. I was really looking forward to that.

I want Cloud to join my shelf of Videogame All-Star amiibo (Mega Man, Sonic, Pac-Man, Shovel Knight and Ryu, who surround my Gold Mario amiibo, autographed by Charles Martinet!) I'm sure Nintendo plans on announcing Smash Bros. for Switch, and the remaining amiibo with it. Why else would they hold off on releasing amiibo that would undoubtedly sell well?

I just got my SK amiibo from the mail yesterday, custom knight is fun and all, but they shouldn't bother with any more SK amiibos in my opinion, but I would still love a a Plague/specter knight figure. Other then that they need more stock of the current amiibo, miles around here and there was only like one small batch and that was the end of it...

Those aren't the only amiibo in my collection, though, cos I have all the Zelda amiibo (Including Smash series), the 12-character Smash 64 roster, both R.O.B. amiibo, Mr. Game & Watch, 30th Anniversary Mario (Classic), the original Inkling set, the Squid Sisters, Lucas, Isabelle, and Tom Nook. That covers the figurines, but I also got some card packs when they were on sale.

You know what i would like? A 3D Shovel Knight game platformer style (like Banjo-Kazooie/Yooka-Laylee) it would be a dream come true for me, i think i actually dreamt about it the other day..

@mechamen8 Shovel Knight is appearing in Yooka-Laylee. If that game brings back the 3D platforming genre successfully, I wouldn't doubt that Shovel Knight could make the jump to 3D.

@Kayfios - Cool collection. Not sure if he's hard to get, but DK would look great in your All Star lineup.

@bimmy-lee I have him sitting on another shelf with Nintendo's All-Stars, but for the most part, I wanted to have the third parties and Gold Mario on one shelf. That, and the shelf itshelf is really small, and the lone boxed amiibo is taking up a lot of real estate on it. I still gotta fit Cloud and Bayonetta up there. Maybe I'll get a bigger shelf and fit both shelves together.

I'd be down for a Spectre and Plague Knight Amiibo don't care for King Knight really. Maybe the campaign will change my opinion of him. I'm surprised he's getting his own campaign anyway. Must be a popular character.
