Sun and Moon.jpg

Over the past few days a whole load of Pokémon Sun and Moon details have leaked early, as a result of some with early copies not being able to control themselves. This is par for the course with the franchise, though has perhaps happened a little earlier than normal this time. For the most part we've steered clear, but perhaps one set of reported details are helpful, as they concern the Pokémon exclusive to each version.

Naturally, this needs a SPOILER WARNING, and in this paragraph we'll buy time and also embed a normal trailer for the game, just so you don't end up reading something you regret. Unlike many of the leaks, however, these are arguably surprises that are useful to know for anyone buying just one version of the game. We know that Sun and Moon take place at different points in the day and have variations between them, but now there's a little extra clarity.

Oh, and we said spoiler warning, remember? Below is a recent trailer as another break in the article.

If you read this far then, well, you know what you've got yourself into.

So, according to this post on Reddit (via Eurogamer), the following 'mon are exclusive to each version.

Pokémon Sun

  • Passimian
  • Tortunator
  • Lycanroc Midday-Forme
  • Alolan Vulpix & Ninetails
  • Solgaleo (previously confirmed Legendary)
  • UB-02 Expansion

Pokémon Moon

  • Oranguru
  • Drampa
  • Lycanroc Midnight-Forme
  • Alolan Sandshrew & Sandslash
  • Lunala (previously confirmed legendary)
  • UB-02 Beauty

There you have it - do these version exclusives influence which one you'll pick up? Let us know in the comments.
