UK supermarket retailer Tesco has sparked rumours of an impending Nintendo NX reveal by posting a landing page for the console on its site.
The page - which at the time of writing says "Nintendo NX Wii U" and gives a placeholder launch date of 31/12/16 - originally listed the cost of the system at £349.99. The page has since been edited to remove the price, which is also likely to have been a placeholder amount.
Chances are the listing is an honest mistake, but given the rumours that we're going to see an official announcement in October - and the fact that retailers usually put pre-orders live once such an announcement takes place - this could be an indication that Nintendo is about to reveal the mysterious machine to the masses at long last.
Or, like we said, someone might have goofed up. Let us know what you think by posting a comment.

I'd better get saving...
'Nintendo NX Wii U'? Backwards compatibility confirmed! I knew the U would never die! WE'RE SAVED! HALLELUJAH! PROJECT GIANT ROBOT AS LAUNCH TITLE!
It's happening...
In my experience, retailers will often use a random placeholder price and made up release date if they don't have the info available when they're setting up a page, so wouldn't put too much stock in this being accurate
Exciting times!!
Maybe it will be revealed NX week...
I do realize that's probably just a place holder price but I can already hear the complaining that it better not be that expensive.........unless it really is worth it!
@Spoony_Tech Reason for the high price is that a leftover Wii U will be bundled with every NX
Every Little (Rumour) Helps
Tesco eh? Remember their announcement of a deal with Nintendo in the UK and Ireland some years ago that came to absolutely nothing?
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/nintendo-teams-up-with-tesco-for-wii-u-fight-back/0121777
My local Tesco hasn't had Nintendo products in years. That above image is just full of facts from the release date, to its price and the name Nintendo NX Wii U. Someone in Tesco was out on the lash last night and came in to work drunk this morning.
Move along! Nothing to see here!
Let's not speculate too much on the price as this is most likely a made up figure and they've erred on the side of caution (they've guessed it will be expensive so that preordering customers arent pissed off when the price changes). If this is the real price.... It'll be a hard sale.
Too expensive. I'm sure it won't be that price
$300 is the sweet spot for me. $350 is pushing it and $400 means I'm not getting it at launch or even its first year.
The NX will be DOA at that price in the UK. It's needs to be priced as an impulse purchase. Anything more than £150 and it won't be a success.
It wasn't revealed in September, so of course it'll be revealed in October. We don't need to to speculate this fact.
Impressed Ninty have convinced TESCO to stock it though!
Considering Tesco was once of the supermarkets that gave up on Wii U in no time, it sounds promising.
It could be revealed this week, it's been rumored and/or leaked for every week in September so far, so why not this week? Or the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th week in October?
Friday October 7th is PMCS, it probably won't be right before that
Monday October 10th is Columbus Day, most kids are home from school
Oct 3, 4 and 12 are the Jewish high holidays, best to avoid those
Thursday October 13th is PSVR launch, so the 11th or 12th would be nice, they already rained on Sonys parade once w/ the Apple Super Mario Run reveal hours before PS4 Slim and Pro were announced, NX a day or 2 before would do great in the news cycle
They shouldnt wait until after PSVR b/c then this happens (saw on tv)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HrUC6wgsqzw
Can't see it being any later than mid-October, might as well wait until January and CES then, so we have about 17 days to wait. Hopefully we don't have to wait 16 days for them to tweet the reveal date #justtelluswhenyoulltellus
@rjejr October 4th is World Animal Day...
If it's not revealed soon, then I'm possibly going to stop caring. Nintendo has really let me down this generation. Plus the thing is coming out in March. Don't you want to reveal the thing the drum up hype?
@ThanosReXXX NX is a horse-drawn carriage confirmed.
Maybe they can color it giant panda b&w, tiger stripes or elephant grey, then we can talk about the elephant in the room. I just hope it isn't black or white again, they should make it a color like the Gamecube. Though my money is on black. Better than white, safer than a color. "800 pound gorilla black"
So, new release dates being bantied about in the usual places?
It's a placeholder page. I'm not going to draw any conclusions from there.
@rjejr Nope, other than the dates I gave you yesterday, no new options.
NX isn't going to compete vs the PS4 Pro and Scorpio in terms of graphics but it is competing against them in terms of price. Figuring the NX is an underpowered niche hybrid system 350 is too much.
NX is a handheld that acts as both a handheld and a replacement Wii U Gamepad. The £350 bundle comes with the NX and a 32GB Wii U (without the Wii U Gamepad). Long live the Wii U!
(I wish though I know it's unrealistic)
@gcunit I don't think they enough stock left to do that industry wide, but I could imagine certain retailers offering "free Wii U to the first 5 people who buy an NX" just to get rid of what's left, and to get the NX sales moving in March. If it is moving in March.
Expensive
What really worries me is if Nintendo sticks the "Wii U" moniker to NX.
Also, even at 250 pounds, the NX will be too expensive (think more along the 250 dollars line)
@rjejr Wait, people still celebrate Columbus Day? Here in North Carolina, we don't even have Columbus Day. Lol
That is an outrageous price point for what has been floated about. That's roughly $450 USD and nearly $600 CAD. Surely this retailer has no MSRP in mind and merely put their own price. I really hope Nintendo isn't going for high end pricing because that really hurt the Wii U and 3DS XL during their launches.
The reveal better be soon. Oh, and that price better not be real; that's way too expensive for me, especially when taking into account Nintendo's track record recently.
@gcunit
☺
Think it was just a mistake. Bc would be awesome but if its true I could really kick my ass for buying a second wii u.
Pricewise it would be ridiculous.
Someone at Tesco may have trolled us hard!
Or...
This may be a test to see how people react to the supposed pricing.
I found it a little pricey, cause we are talking about pounds. But we can consider 349 US dollars as a good price for a new console doing new things! It is close to the recent consoles and near the price of mid-gen. upgrade we are having.
It is a specially good price for a new console if it comes bundled, and I think it could happen on day one release!
@NIN10DOXD Then you need better teacher unions, and a parade.
35,000 people March in the parade, 1 million line up to watch
https://www.timeout.com/newyork/columbus-day
I'm guessing your schools probably don't close for Chinese Lunar New Year or the Muslim holiday either.

Placeholder price with placeholder name and placeholder date and placeholder picture...
Well... why does it say Wii U? Possibly because they've used the Wii U listing as a template?
Wasn't the Wii U £350 when it came out?
A NX reveal must happen soon! I'm hoping it will be called Nintendo System 7 or something like that, please Nintendo do not call Wii-U 2.
Not $400. Please not $400.
@MrGawain Why would Tesco need convincing to sell NX? They still stock Wii U games and consoles.
oh look look, its another rumor about the NX... xD
@chardir and @MrGawain Yes Tesco's still Nintendo consoles and games, they also have a small selection of Amiibo too.
That would be like 400 euros... it is probably a placeholder, but if it isn't... that would be so stupid for a most likely ''underpowered'' machine
£250 is my limit unfortunately so if it does in fact end up going for £350 then I'm afraid I won't be getting it that early, no matter how much I want it.
Another non-story about the NX!!!!!!!! YES!
But I would pay that price if it's worth it. Meaning it must offer something completely different and/or be as strong as the Xbone & PS4.
Come on Ninty show us it!
The price bears no relevance as a placeholder. It saves them losing money if people preorder at that price. I think £199 or under is a safe bet based on what we're hearing.
As I said elsewhere last week, I believe the reveal date at least will be announced this week. My source? Gut instinct
@Grumblevolcano Except the problem w/ Wii U wasn't the Gamepad, it was the underpowered Wii U. Nintendo made a system that was to have dual Gamepad games, they said so themselves, but they made the Wii U too weak to power 2 Gamepads. They also put in a wireless chip that only works about 12' from the Wii U. If it worked 25' feet so I could use the Gamepad in my house to play games off screen, rather than doing so only sitting on my couch right in front of my tv, then the Gamepad would have gotten a lot more use.
So you have it backwards, make a new NX console that supports 2 Gamepads and a greater range, let the Gamepad work with it as a secondary controller for dual screen play. Wii U was the problem, not the Gamepad.
I fully expect the Gamepad to work w/ NX as a secondary controller, still with limited range due to its current chipset, but it would only be used for a few 2 player games anyway. It's the very least they can do for those of us who spent $350 on a console that only really had 3 1/2 years of game support, and even that was spotty. AC:aF and Mario Tennis did not make for a stellar holiday game line-up last year, good thing we had XCX.
@Moon
Very good point and would explain bunches.
You know the NX is coming and want to make a placeholder for it so you use the previous console launch (that you haven't sold for years) as a template. This explains the inclusion of the Wii U, the price, and the NX stuck in there.
It's the best explanation I've seen. Kudos!
Oh, wait, that's not american $$$ though, so the price thing is maybe off... anyone know if that was the launch price for Wii U there? Things fluctuate so much maybe it was. :/
@huxxny This is not a rumor, actually. Right?
It does get me excited and maybe means that a reveal is not far away. The fact they only showed Breath Of The Wild at E3 means that everything else they are working on is for the NX which they weren't prepared to show so some of these games must be well into production ready for the launch window. Let's hope they are all games we want and not spin offs!
Those who are complaining about the price... The now-removed placeholder price, displayed on a supermarket website, for a piece of hardware which you know nothing about and doesn't officially exist yet.
@rjejr In @Grumblevolcano 's scenario I think the NX is also quite capable as a standalone which would solve many problems and potentially give new life to the Wii U.
Also, the GamePad was a problem because including it at a reasonable price also meant keeping the core hardware gimped. It's all relative.
I do see your point, though. Keep the GamePad's from the Wii U and replace the core unit. We'd still get to make use of our hardware as a second controller for the new NX.
I'd be for that as long as the new GamePad to go with the NX was more ergonomic and made more as a controller than as something that was meant to be laid down by design... kinda. (So the secondary controller could remain the old GamePad as long as the new one is improved)
We all know that there is no way forward but a clean cut from the Wii U, though right? Kimishima at least is setting us up for that. Similarities that may be notable aside, we aren't getting something that is tethered to the old hardware of either the Wii U or the 3DS in a direct way. At least that's how it seems right now.
The one true takeaway from this is that at least one retailer thinks the announcement is imminent. I'm all for that.
REVEAL! PLEASE REVEAL IT! PLEASE! MY HYPE LEVEL IS THROUGH THE ROOF! And to be honest, if that price was in fact legit, I would kinda be excited because that would mean the thing is super powerful and a real contender against next gen consoles.
Well at least they know what it is...maybe...hopefully...sorta.
To jump on @rjejr 's bandwagon: #justtellus
Come on Nintendo. I've got my shinny quarters all ready for you...don't you want them?
EDIT: Not really getting the complaints over the price. Even with it being a placeholder, this is a normal range for a new console. Nintendo is going to try not to sell at a loss if they can.
https://ebgames.com.au/nintendo-nx-202879-Nintendo-NX-Placeholder-Price-Nintendo-NX
One day we will wake to the news of a NX Direct... and it will be glorious! Until then any NX 'news' is kind of frustrating.
@skywake I'd buy that for a dollar!
@skywake That's it...DOA in Australia. If it doesn't release for $45 with 3 games and the power of the Scorpio it's third party for Nintendo.
Lol it's priced at $999 in Australia
£350 wouldn't be bad, that's only about €400. 😉
All joking aside it will have to be at least €300 with the touch screen and detachable controllers and base station. HDD would be wishful thinking.
Well, the Wii U had a price of $600AU on EBGames before launch. It then launched with a RRP of $430AU. Placeholder prices mean absolutely nothing.
Hmmm, $450 seems kinda steep for Nintendo. I think it will need to be between $300 to $350 for them to sell well. Unless it's super revolutionary like they say and people eat it up. Either way, I'm saving my money for something else next year and won't have the money by then. So I'll have to be nice next year and maybe Santa will give me some money for Christmas to fully purchase it lol. I have a giant backlog of games anyways.
@aaronsullivan Thanks I can't remember how much it was at launch, and 'my' Wii U is actually my girlfriends so I can't remember how much she paid. I think it was around £300.
Unfortunately, things aren't always priced fairly here. For instance, if something is $350 in the USA, sometimes (and usually) rather than translating the cost to £270, they will just charge people in the UK £350. :/ Just a rough example there...
And the masses claw at each other over what will literally be nothing. How many times do people have to say it? Until a Nintendo officially announces a price and what the actual system is, take everything that others say or post as a grain of salt. Even retailers who post stuff like that.
It boggles the mind that people still treat stuff like this as legit when it's more than likely a placeholder name and price. Come on people, think a little bit before posting your gloom and doom comments.
@Lucina This place wouldn't be the same without the kneejerk reactions and trolls.
I'm not paying that much for a console. Especially since there always seems to be something wrong with the first one Nintendo releases, which forces them to release a revised version later, after they make a version with a bigger screen of course.
@NIN10DOXD Wait...North Carolina doesn't do Columbus day???? I just moved to Chapel Hill a few months ago and this is the first I've ever heard of that!
@ollibald : Exactly.
The release date is also on a day noone launches a console.
@invictus4000 I doubt the Nintendo NX would be able to do 2160p and would probably not look that good on my TV. Nintendo are cool as developers, but it took them nine years to realise 1080p.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Actually, I remember the Nintendo presence spiking in a lot of my local Tesco stores at that point. It was just made out to be a lot more than some people had read into.
Either way.......... It's happening, and soon. Quite clear that devs have already seen NX, retailers have just been given the lowdown, and an imminent reveal is the only logical conclusion.
I'm terrified, and pray they have gotten it right this time.
Page has now been removed completely. What is more worrying is Tesco adding 'Wii U' to the NX! They didn't know what to do with the 3DS or Wii U for the first 2 years after launch either, lumping both games & systems in with their predecessors DS & Wii.
$299.99. That is the most they can sell this thing for. And they need to pack in MARIO MAKER DX with it.
HOLY CRAP, the thing is $600 CAD?! This better be a placeholder cause there's no way I'm paying that much.
Im starting to believe th nx will never be revealed. Nintendo is getting more attention than ever before just by not saying anything.
It could point to the actual price, or it could not, so I won't speculate. If I'm getting the NX, it probably won't be in 2017 anyway, unless it comes out with SMT5 and an HD Fire Emblem or something...
350 pounds? Sounds like PS4 price tier but will probably not make it cheaper than other Generation 9 consoles because there seem to be no other Generation 9 consoles planned - there's no Vita successor discussed in the portable market and the home stations are simply getting upgrades. Still, a respectable price for a new console, although Belarusian shops might easily add up to 30% in cost. But I've been thinking about saving up for a home console I could play without a TV next (either Wii U or PS4), and NX could dethrone them both as essentially a home console I could play ANYWHERE. As NL pointed out earlier, expecting PS4 horsepower may be farfetched - but if Sony managed a console capable of quite faithful PS3 ports and similarly beefed titles several years ago (and 3DS, a supposedly "weak console" by generation standards, is definitely none too shabby either), I don't think NX will offer less, at least.
Don't get me wrong, HD graphics and stuff have never been my priority as a gamer. But the more third parties will be motivated to port their games without watering them down (allegedly the problem that kept many Gen8 titles off Wii U), the more games I'll have potential access to without hunting for a rare unoccupied TV hour at home or doing shamanic dances around the PC monitor, cables and resolution quirks. My working schedule alone has long left me focused on portable gaming, yet the latter has its natural limits - and that's where NX, following what PSP and Vita tried back in the day, will help expand some horizons.
@ollibald What is your experience?
Huh, my Father works for Tesco, perhaps I should talk with him about this.
And £350 is a price I am comfortable with.
@aaronsullivan Nintendo should have made a mobile app "Nintendo See and Speak" NSAS to work w/ the Wii U Gamepad camera for video chat. After 3 years only 2 or 3 games used the camera, and we have never used the chat. We used to use Wiispeak all the time for messages as my 2 sisters and parents all had it.
Was looking at my Gamepad in its dock last night while I played Ni No Kuni on my PS3. The thing is just so big and unwieldy. Saw a Vita in the store the other day and the screen is smaller but the console is so much sleeker. New handheld, portable or hybrid needs to look more like a Vita than a Gamepad.
Yes, Gamepad added a lot to the Wii U price, but it's Nintendos fault, and the Wii Us fault, not the Gamepads fault, as big and ugly as it is. NL did an article 2 years ago about how DKCTF shows the Gamepad was underutilized. An accessory without a purpose. Slpatoon and Super Mario Maker changed that, but 2 years too late. S2 and SMM2 need to come quicker. SMM on 3DS will hold the spot if NX does 3DS bc, which I think it should. At least on the handheld, if not the home.
Still don't know if it's hybrid or Home and Away but Gamepad should work with it. Balance Board worked with Wii U. Not required, but for player 2. Like 3DS for SSB, only without the 99c fee. Really, what cheap sob decided that people who buy a $299 condole, and a $199 console, and a $60 game, need to pay another 99 cents to use them together? Maddening.
I think $299 USD will be the launch price of the NX. I feel like it'll be a hard sell if it's more than the base PS4 / XB1. Less than $299 would be nice, but I can't see Nintendo selling these at a loss.
Nintendo will want to get these into as many hands as possible. The only way that they're going to do that is to price the system aggressively. Let's be real for a minute. Nintendo is in a rough spot and their consoles are secondary consoles in a lot of households these days. No matter what the NX ends up being, most non-diehards aren't going to jump on the bandwagon unless it's priced to move.
If it does something different like its rumored to and does it well. And has a great lineup at launch, with the promise of some games that a Nintendo console hasn't had for a while, then I will gladly shell out $ 350- $399 for it.
@The_Dude_Abides i don't get why people are saying this. We have no idea what it's capable of and what's inside it. For all we know it might be on level with current Xbox one and ps4.
I'll pay up to 350 quid for it, same as ps4 pro. It's about the games, games you won't get on any other platform or PC. Plus they have the expense of the screen on it
At that price, no way! And Nintendo will forget the Wii U or Wii name if they know what's best for them.
@3MonthBeef Thank you! I thought I was the only one. Not a bad price for a brand new console honestly..
@UmbreonsPapa But that's just you, if Nintendo wants to see any success from this thing, it needs to be no more then $200.
How's about we all stop judging the price until we know what it is. And how much it is.
If it was £350 and a kickass piece of kit, I could deal with it.
How much is that in Euro's? Sounds expensive, but its fake anyway. Its only official when Nintendo officially reveals it!
I dont see much wrong with the price. If its 400 dollars then it probably means its new tech, a console that fuction as a handheld with decent performance or both. Most people happily pay 500 Euro for iPhones and Tablets and usually have a normal job so 400 dollars for a console isn't that much really when you think about it
Axiom Verge was a good game.
@rjejr It could be any of those days honestly. I'm still upset they held the first Splatfest on July the 4th!!
Retailer farts. Comments blow up.
@Moon nailed it dude, I paid £350 on launch day at midnight so the money value adds up. 👍
@sakura well spotted 😜👌
@ULTRA-64 Thanks
@bubby444 I can understand your argument to a certain extent. Its Nintendo in a really precarious position. They need to make up for the mistakes they made with the Wii U. Regardless of the horse power of the machine, your asking most gamers to make the plunge on a second console. You have to entice them somehow. Especially if third party support is going to be what it has been. I get it.
At the end of the day, it's up to a person to decide what they deem as worth the price to pay. I also think there has to be a level of common sense and realistic expectation from the consumer.
After getting screwed by Nintendo when I bought a Wii U, I'm probably gonna wait until all my wanted games are released before I get the NX...
Nintendo is actually launching another console in the UK? Nintendo is to the UK what Xbox is to Japan...
@NIN10DOXD We do too have Columbus' day in NC! ...just nobody cares very much. But my job is closed on that day so I have no complaints.
@3MonthBeef So what I'm hearing from you is that Nintendo should charge use more for a system that isn't going to be as powerful and might not have to 3rd party support. The reason people are complaining about this rumored price is that we know that it's not going to succeed at that price.
@Link41x What are you talking about? You must not know how bad the Xbox is doing in Japan.
i can afford that price !!! but 350£ really ? thats too much !! why someone would buy NX while he can get PS4/XBOX ONE MORE CHEAPER !! and more powerful ...
Bloody he'll it says NX Wii U so it's fake.Tesco doesn't no.Unless it's as rumored a 6inch Wii U 2 Gamepad portable.If true I would order any tesco as nobody will buy it.And I'm old sckool hardcore nintendo fan.
@gcunit If true then Nintendo where lying to us.SO how can you be happy about it.If true it's Wii U 2 Gamepad portable.It's going to be even bigger desatser than Wii U was,can't you understand that.Nobody what's anything to do with what Wii brand was.
@3MonthBeef you are comparing PS4 4K SYSTEM FULL HD / AMAZING GAMES LIBRARY / DECENT DISCOUNT / 500GB/1TB STORAGE / FULL SUPPORT / 10 NEW GAMES AT LEAST EVERYMONTH / 5 FREE GAMES A MONTH /STABLE FAST ONLINE SYSTEM / AMAZING OS / VR SYSTEM to a nintendo system ? come on !! i love nintendo I'm so loyal to nintendo but they are not loyal to us ... nintendo are not the same company that i l grew up with anymore they changed to the worst they deserve what they are going through and I'm glad with it i hope they learn !
Typical Tesco Nibelsnarf up to call it Wii U
@The_Dude_Abides A brand new system at £150 would mean that the specs would be very weak. I say that they should launch it at £250 then drop it to around £200 before Christmas 2017.
@seb5049 do you think the WII U worth its price ? ... since its a very 'weak' system
your theory is not always right ! we paid 350$ for that !
Actually I could see us getting some NX news or at least vague NX hints this week as Nintendo's investor site show that on the 30 Spetember this Friday there will be an event, or at least what is listed is "Record Date for Interim Dividends for the 77th Fiscal Year".
I don't really have an idea if the title indicate that NX news is coming as English is my second language, but thought I should mention this here as we are kind of talking about the possibility of NX news coming this week.
(The next thing on Nintendo's investor site is "Second Quarter Earnings Release" on the 26 October).
In any case, I suppose we have something to potentially look forward to this week :+).
@peeks you are totally right. Nintendo is not the same company I grew up with.
I also made the point before why would people pay 350 pounds for a secondary console.
Even the wii u bundle in the uk is more than the ps4
Just a placeholder. Retailers do this all the time; note that they set the release date as a generic 31/12/16.
That looks exactly like my local tesco!
350 pounds? NX is home console and death ray hybrid confirmed!
@ULTRA-64 Unfortunately, it's mainly just fuel for the speculative fire Leaving the details of release date and price aside, the only really exciting thing is that a store created a placeholder page (I can't find any other in the UK) and retailers were called to NOE in the last week or two. It could mean a reveal soon. (Many have been speculating that anyway.) Or it could not. The only significant clues we have will be determined through hindsight. No way to differentiate right now between what is real and what is not.
I can't help feeling that it has to be soon though!
So it's going to look like something, be called something, cost something and come out at some time? Tesco have given everything away!
Hopefully...come on, Nintendo!!
@Sakura yeah, it's all just a big speculation pick and mix right now!
I'm kinda relaxed about the while thing. I love my Wii u, am still buried in xenoblade x and I've got a huge backlog of other games.
I'd love Nintendo to come out of leftfield with another great concept but I'm not convinced by anything ive heard so far. Portability,controllers and projector leaks do nothing for me.I'll sit patiently on the sidelines band wait for them to tempt me. It probably won't take much😜
I'll stick my neck out and say October the first,Saturday I think, first some kind of reveal. Let's hope it's not a reveal of a date for a reveal 😱
Weakening £ isn't going to make it cheap here. Hurrah for Brexit...
I honestly wouldn't be the least bit surprised, at all, if Nintendo decided to simply stay quiet and not reveal the system until early 2017, without mentioning ANYTHING.
I don't think Nintendo will put the Wii name anywhere near NX after the Wii U. They're obviously going to move away from it.
Might just be a mistake, but if that price is correct it wouldn't be too bad.
@BlatantlyHeroic lol you must never had a console.ive never had issues with Nintendo.now xbox first ones I wont purchase same goes with playstation.for the record still using my Wii u from launch
Wow awesome and a pretty good price, hopefully means the NX will be getting revealed sometime soon.
Didn't Nintendo say that they were going to offer cheap games instead of cheap consoles? Hmmm
so if it was 349.99 there.........how much would that be in America and Mexico?
I think, as much as I do enjoy video games as a hobby in my free time and as a personal passion, maybe I'm just not totally obsessed with it like many others.
I just see so many who act like its life or death whether NX a launches at a certain time, or whether it uses this chip or that chip, or whether it gets multiplats, or how much it costs, etc...
And I guess, to be frank, I just don't give a flip. Launch whenever, with whatever power, with whatever games, at whatever price. I don't care. I can afford it- I do work for a living. And I know I'll enjoy it. I'm not going to not like it because of games it doesn't have. I will like it because of the games it does have.
Idk, it just ain't that serious.
@gcunit I hope it has a backward compatibility to play 3ds games
@Lizuka you do know i'ts a placeholder, they wouldn't release something that high, plus we don't know how powerful the NX is?
@UK-Nintendo kids will be upset if that price is too high, even i wouldn't buy at a high price and i'm 21 years old
@sandman89 it's a placeholder price, it's not the official price yet
@Nintendofan83 it sure will
@BeardedSquash or $250 for me
@aaronsullivan which part?!
i mean, yes, there's a store, who made a page on its site for the upcoming NX, probably using a copy of its page for the WiiU, but besides that, the price, the date, and even the idea that the NX is gonna be reveal soon, its all just rumors?! no?!
@LuigiMan123 it's a placeholder price, they took the page down because they made a mistake
@huxxny @huxxny so you believe it's a placeholder price
@Lizuka me neither, paying $450 for nintendo nx is like paying for a limited edition xbox one or playstation or a big game bundle when it release on the first day, i highly doubt nintendo would give a price that high to nintendo nx, and we don't know how powerful the system is.
@Nerdieo that price is too high for me
@johnodaz it's a placeholder price
@jimi i'll go with it
@shemar25 sincerely, i have no idea, but i think the WiiU was 350$ at launch, so its safe to assume that the date and price may very well be estimate... or they could be real... who knows really, its all just conjectures, so is the nature of rumors...
@jimi well, iirc, it was still "relatively" affordable, since the other console were likee 499$ or more... and once again, taking the inflation in considaration, the old NES and SNES were not that affordable, 200$ in the 80' was considerably way more money than 200$ today... so yeah, the WiiU didn't cost that much in perspective!!
@jimi imho, the main reason the WiiU didn't do well was poor marketing, lack of support from 3rd party dev and bad press... and the last one is not mention often, but it sure played a big role in its demise, since even today, when most media speak about the current generation of console, they only mention xbone and ps4 which give you an idea of how much its mocked and ignored by the press...
Good price
With the big reveal they have to go all out with big hitter games. Gameplay trailers, show what NX is. Also they should keep the Name NX. Its already famous by every rumor lol.
I certainly hope that price isn't legit! That's too much money for my blood and considering the rumored tech on offer is far more expensive than I would expect. I really hope all of these "leaks" point to a reveal happening pretty soon, just so I can decide if I want to buy the darn thing!
Yea, I think people can calm down, this doesn't mean anything, just looks like a normal place holder for an upcoming item.
I really think that price is way too high, I'm guessing the console at $400 CAD (£234) anymore and the NX definitely won't sell in my opinion
Everybody should hope and pray for NX will be Region Free again.
It's pointless if Nintendo keep their machines Region Locked.
converts pounds to aud
$592.78
oh. my. bloody. god. why is it this expensive?!?!?!
I reckon it's a placeholder. Total guesswork. If that is the price I'll get it next Christmas when it drops to £200 and they have to rush release a new Mario Kart and a new Mario game to get it selling.
Never seen so many people freak out over a placeholder. Good work gang...
Only about £150 more than I'm prepared to pay.
@JaxonH "Idk, it just ain't that serious"
Nice.
But speaking of serious, you getting drowned out your way or you live on higher ground? Seems like the entire upper central US is under a flood watch.
@Spoony_Tech "I'm still upset they held the first Splatfest on July the 4th!!"
I forgot all about that, but I am still salty about the SMM release date. Probably b/c I'm a NYer and my sister's family lives a few blocks away, so it's something that comes up all the time.
I honestly don't understand why most of you have a problem with that price point? To me a $399.99 US / €399.99 / £349.99 is the perfect price since it confirms that Nintendo is using industry leading chips and finally learned / realized 3rd party content is key to a home console success. Also keep this in mind your money loses it's value over time do to inflation, so in order for Nintendo to keep producing high quality consoles the asking price sadly has to be increased. Plus let's be real here why can't Nintendo sell their machine at the same price as their competition? Last I check Nintendo can still make capable hardware.
@huxxny It's a report on an incident with some speculation about why it happened and what it could mean. Previous rumors are brought up in the article with skepticism, but this story is not "another rumor". That's all I'm saying.
@rjejr Well we also have public schools holding staff prayer meetings and holding Christian Clubs, so yeah we don't observe other cultures. My last year in high school, my county removed presidents day from the calendar. Lol
@Ryu_Niiyama The smaller areas don't. And as far as I remember, the schools don't observe it. We do have Columbus Day sales though and some businesses in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, etc. might observe it especially with so many transplants.
@NIN10DOXD "my county removed presidents day from the calendar"
Removed a day? You really do need better teacher unions, we always have that entire week off, they call it "Winter break". Usually 6 weeks after "holiday break" - can't say Christmas, too discriminating - and 6 weeks before "Spring break" - ditto for Easter recess. I really need to get a job as a teacher.
Just release the info on NX already. Sheesh! I guess they think the advertising campaign was a good one on Wii-U. Here we go again.
I am really looking forward to whatever the Nintendo NX brings to the table regardless of anything as I have a 55 Inch 4K HDR TV.
