Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Direct?

Moshugan

Very good over all! Enough big games, many smaller interesting ones. Surprisingly the most exciting things were third party titles from Bethesda and Square! Of course Mario Odyssey is awesome, but we already knew loads about it and it's coming very soon so I don't want to see nothing more.

I have mixed feelings about Xenoblade 2 though. The segment was boring and too long. Voice acting was so-so and the game looks a bit generic at the surface level.

Re: Get Ready for a Nintendo Direct on 13th September

Moshugan

Hopefully there's a bunch of new titles for the Holidays!

Some kind of a new multiplayer would be good, but I think it's too early for Smash Bros. since we already got Mario Kart, Splatoon and Arms this year. They might announce some big updates for Splatoon 2 and Arms.

Aah, and I want a new Animal Crossing alreadyyy!

Re: Splatoon 2 Designer Explains Why The Maps Rotate And Salmon Run Is Time-Limited

Moshugan

I rather enjoy the rotating levels and modes! I get what the Amaro is saying.

It's the same like when you had to wait the week to see a new episode of a show, and it was an event, but now you can watch thousands of episodes from hundreds of shows on demand, thus devaluing them all.

It also makes the game feel like less of a videogame that you can play whenever, and more like you're participating in events that happen whether or not you're there or not.

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

Moshugan

Not trying to sound salty, but looks inferior to the original pixel art.

I don't get it why these big corporations won't utilize modern pixel art techniques. A "remaster" with the same art style, a modern engine and modern "3D accelerated" tech could be awesome. The same pixel style but more details and advanced effects. Or maybe use hand-drawn paintings for backgrounds and hand-animated sprites? (That might be too expensive though..)
Instead they opted for this weird mobile 3D that lacks any shaders or lighting effect? I mean, it's okay, but just inferior.

Looking forward to the soundtrack anyhow!

Re: Fear Effect Is Being Remastered On The Nintendo Switch

Moshugan

@victimOfNirvana Yeah, there's nothing wrong with fixed camera angles as such. I enjoy the likes of the original Resident Evil games too.

At least they are promising "tweaked controls", so hopefully they forego tank controls in favor of regular analogue stick controls that are relative to the screen.

Re: Fear Effect Is Being Remastered On The Nintendo Switch

Moshugan

Now this was unexpected!

"Fear not, however. Those original fixed camera angles will remain in place"

I'm not sure if that's a good thing..
The fixed angles and tank controls where compromises they had to make back in the day. I'm not too keen on holding on to obsolete gameplay mechanics just for the sake of being preservation.

Re: Review: Namco Museum (Switch eShop)

Moshugan

"In addition it's also possible for anyone to download a free app that means if you have two Switch systems you can enjoy the dual-screen gameplay with only one full copy of the game."

I wish more games did this - especially Nintendo's First Party titles.

Re: Michel Ancel Reiterates That No Platforms Are Confirmed for Beyond Good & Evil 2

Moshugan

@Ryu_Niiyama Alright, I think I know what you mean.

I kinda took it in "as is", and the trailer was fun and the world and characters seem interesting. (I thought the swearing was a bit unnecessary tbh. Maybe Ancel thought that the original fans are all matured so it's okay.) I don't mind them making the game different to the first one, as long as it's good.

Where did you read about an "online emphasis"?
EDIT: Oh, it's mentioned in the official site. I wouldn't call it an emphasis though.
