Re: Amazon UK Offers Nintendo Switch Downloads, Cost More Than Boxed Equivalents

Moshugan

@Moon You will most likely be able to use eShop codes purchased from different territories, but I suspect that if you bought a US code then you will have to use it on the US eShop, even if your machine was bought from the UK for example.

You can create multiple user accounts with different country settings, so you can access the eShops from separate regions.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Secures Gorgeous Cover on Game Informer Magazine

Moshugan

Oh my..! x__x
Gonna skip reading the mag, watching vids since the release is so nigh anyway.

Also, dungeons mentioned!
They wrote "playing through a dungeon in its entirety" and "discovering Shrines" like theyr'e different things.
But we already knew this:

> Theresa: "We should also talk about the difference between Dungeons and Shrines because they're not one and the same in this game."
> Audrey: "They're not. Shrines are SUPPLEMENTARY TO DUNGEONS. I don't want to give away too much. Yeah, there are a ton of Shrines - over a hundred Shrines. There's so many. They're just gonna be a little sprinkling of things to do on your experience. But yes, there are Dungeons IN THE SENSE THAT ZELDA FANS ARE USED TO."
> Theresa: "Exactly."

Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing Range for Switch Online Service

Moshugan

@ThanosReXXX "I perhaps wrongfully assumed that most of us know what the problem with the Virtual Boy was: most people got headaches from using it for longer periods, and Kimishima's current comment on the matter seemed to echo that concern, as in: "we don't want to make another headache inducing device, so it needs to be user-friendly"."

That was exactly what I was referring to with the resolution/refresh rate comment!

Re: Yooka-Laylee Formally Confirmed for Switch Along With Wii U Backer Options

Moshugan

I wonder if I can change my reward to Switch from PC Digital, since I already filled the survey ages ago... I payed the higher pledge that let you choose whichever platform you wanted.

@Spoony_Tech #9 "Just had an awful thought, this game better not release anywhere near Mario Odyssey or it could doom itself on the Switch. I'm sure they wouldn't do something stupid like that now though....."

That's what I thought!

Re: Poll: What Are Your Nintendo Switch Pre-Order and Launch Day Plans?

Moshugan

I'll have to wait until the next week to get my Switch, due to delivery times from abroad... but I'm tempted to get the Wii U version of BotW as well so that I'll get to taste it right at 3/3... ;---D

I advise everyone to get a carrying case to shield that little baby!
Plus it'll be useful to carry the Joy-Con straps and extra games with you.

Re: Official Nintendo Switch Technical Specifications Have Been Shared

Moshugan

"Please note: an update via an internet connection is required to use microSDXC memory cards."

Is this necessary to ensure maximum security or something?

@AVahne I'm pretty sure it's 4 GB, because that would be a standard for Tegra. Maybe they don't want to list it because it has no direct bearing on the user any more than the processor has? "Custom Tegra" is all we got for that too.

Re: Nintendo Switch Dips to €299 on Amazon France

Moshugan

Just the console is around 375€ to 380€ in Finland, so I'm going to save some 50+€ with the faster postage selected! Even Zelda is over 10€ cheaper at Amazon France.

Hopefully I won't have to wait too long (theyr'e promising 2-4 days delivery, although the weekend will prolong that) but at least I'll have extra money for another game or other goodies..

Re: Unity-Made RPG Moon Child Could Be Coming To Nintendo Switch

Moshugan

Aww, I kinda wish they manage to release it somehow. They seem hardworking and passionate, if not very professional. The assets look nice and the idea seems fun. Especially animations need a lotta work though.

That said, I think they shouldn't aim for so many platforms. Just focus on making the PC version the best they can and release it for a reasonably low price on Steam/GOG.

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

Moshugan

Very much looking forward to it! ^-^

Sure, there's still a lot of questions left to be answered, the release window lineup is a bit meh although offering fairly good variety, it remains to be seen how well Nintendo handles services like the account system or paid online, and the Third Party support is iffy for the moment.

But I like the hardware and it will service my needs with its many modes of play (well, maybe the splitscreen multiplayer in Tabletop Mode might be left relatively unused) and I believe it might become a hit if Nintendo plays their cards right this Holiday season and the next year.
Japan might eat it up, despite the larger form factor to a 3DS.

Can't wait to play Breath of the Wild everywhere!

Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms that Breath of the Wild Will Not Support a Japanese Dub Over English Subtitles

Moshugan

I'm disappointed, and I hope they'll patch it after people give them enough feedback. But it's okay, the English isn't the best but it's pretty good none the less. In no way a deal breaker lol!

Most games don't offer separate language options for voice and text so it's not exactly a surprise. I think most PlayStation in-game languages are tied to the System Language as well?

Re: DFC Intelligence Believes Nintendo Switch Can Shift 40 Million Units by 2020

Moshugan

They can reach that number!
I predict fine Holiday sales. There won't be a drastic price drop for the console this year, but they will bring attractive bundless for the Holiday market.
Accessories should see some price drops by the end of 2018 at the latest.

@Roam85 #1 "Maybe around the time the Switch XL is released with ... a standby mode button"

The Switch actually has a stand by mode. They showcased it on the Japanese hands-on stream. They pressed the power button quickly while BotW was running and the screen went black. Then they pressed it again and the game returned. Seemed to work exactly like a mobile device or hitting the switch on 2DS.

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Video Streaming Services At Launch, But They're Being Considered

Moshugan

@gatorboi352 #117 "It's as if the industry has become too big for them to comprehensively handle.
"Back when it was just a 16-bit Mario sprite hopping across the screen they were the kings of the market. Nowadays Nintendo just seems rather flustered and largely unprepared. Overwhelmed, even."

I guess you're kinda right. They just want to make games but people demand so much from them. But even the game industry and the way games are designed has changed dramatically in a very short time.

At heart, Nintendo still makes excellent games. They just try to service in every other way too, sometimes with results that are not on par.
Sometimes I think they should've gone the budget route, making simpler games, maybe on a micro-console, and pricing them lower. People are used to getting quality titles for very low prices, but Nintendo still tries to charge premium (and I don't fault them for that! Making games ain't cheap and they do make them at great quality).
In a way, the 3DS has been the ideal platform for them.

I am hopeful and optimistic about the Switch. I like the machine a lot, even if all things related to it aren't ideal.

@Mellor2000 Hey, I like rain.

Re: Editorial: Pricing Blunders Have Distorted The Narrative Around Nintendo Switch

Moshugan

While the initial prices are fair in a sense, they can get pretty high especially in countries with high sales taxes (24% VAT in my country), so I understand the comparison to already established cheaper alternatives.

I'm excites to see how people will react after it's been released and review start coming in. The Holiday sales are when we truly start seeing the actual demand with the general population.

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

Moshugan

@duffmmann US prices don't include taxes. But yeah, a lot of European countries have higher taxes and hidden costs that swell the price to over 25% higher that US in many cases.

I really don't think the console itself is too expensive at all, but the Switch is gonna have a ruff start with these software (and to some extent accessory) prices!

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

Moshugan

Based on the reveal demo, we'd be better off getting an older Bomberman title on Virtual Console. The SNES titles would probably be better too. ;p

In fact you can get EVERY Bomberman available on VC for the same amount of money! x)

But... will this mean that no classic B-man games will appear on Switch VC, at leasta not for a while, because they don't want them to clash with the sales of the new one?

Re: Reggie on How the Switch Will Maintain Third Party Support

Moshugan

That was a fun interview! "What's the worst thing that you've said about Nintendo and say it to my face"...

Hmmph... on a serious note, I really like the Switch, and I know I will enjoy it greatly and find it's features very useful, but I have a bad feeling that it won't be much more popular than Wii U in the west. Reggie's words about Third Party support and a steady flow of titles ring hollow at this point. I seriously hope it'll turn out great!

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Will Require a 3GB Install on Wii U

Moshugan

@Dezzy "I only have the 8GB Wii U. Will this actually fit on the hard drive? It only leaves you about 3GB after all the system updates you have to install."

That's actually a very good question...
I'm sure the patch will fit if you only have the necessary system updates installed, but remains to be seen how much cleaning you have to do before getting to the required space. ;p
If it doesn't fit, then you had better find a hard drive or some such. x___x

It was a very dumb move in the first place for Nintendo to even release an 8GB version... don't blame yourself.
