Re: Super Mario Party Will Feature Online Play With Friends, But Only For Minigames

Moshugan

@jswhitfield8 That's a poor argument. There are games with dozens of people in them at once (like Fortnite). Even Splatoon has 8 at once.
And other online board games, like Talisman which has 6 players max has a nifty feature that if someone is dropped in the middle of a match, they can reconnect and return to the game, and the A.I. will take over until they return.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Notes That Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Could Be The Last In The Series

Moshugan

I can really see this being Sakurai's last Smash. No wonder he aims to make it the ultimate version.

It's very admirable that Sakurai has always aspired to make each installment as good as possible. Indeed, each game in the series is arguably timeless. Of course going back to the N64 version feels like the biggest downgrade, but objectively even it is still highly playable.

It's just sad that he always has to do it at the cost of his own health. I'm sure the pressure for perfection doesn't come from Nintendo, and it's mostly Sakurai's own perfectionism, but I wouldn't mind a longer development time if I knew Sakurai was happier. ;--p

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th June (Europe)

Moshugan

I highly recommend Hollow Knight to anyone who's looking for a metroidvania, and isn't afraid of a challenge.
The game is excellent and its lore and atmosphere are magical, with somber and beautiful music and landscapes.

Re: 8BitDo Reveals Huge Range Of Bluetooth Controllers, All Compatible With Nintendo Switch

Moshugan

8Bitdo is bringing so many different controllers that I imagine there must be some pissed off folks who already bought one before and now would like to exchange them for a new version! ;---)

I'm glad I didn't buy an SF30 Pro yet. The handles on SF30 Pro+ make it instantly superior, even if it doesn't look as retro authentic and lacks the colored face buttons. That is, if it has all the same bells and whistles: rumble and Switch compatible motion controls.

Re: Guide: How To Play Fortnite On Switch If You've Played Before On PS4

Moshugan

Well I hope this is an error and not intended!
Especially the fact that you need to go to your Epic account on another device to unlink it from the Switch if you accidentally tried to register with a "tainted" account. It's so stupid and will put off many people.

Or is this connected with some reason, like making sure all players on Switch start at the same level or something?

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Nintendo At E3 2018?

Moshugan

I'm mostly looking forward to Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. for Switch, and Death Stranding for PS4. Everything else would be a bonus! I'd be pretty happy if Pikmin 4 was finally resurrected.

I'm warming up to the idea of "Star Fox GP". More Mario as DLC expansion would be cool. I hope to see Bethesda's Starfield and CD Project Red's (what a weird name for a company) Cyberpunk 2077, as well as whatever From Software's next game is gonna be.

Re: GameStop Has Leaked 10 Unannounced Full-Price Switch Game Listings

Moshugan

@rjejr You've never played a portable Zelda?!
I like every Zelda, but especially the older Game Boy Zelda's are awesome! Link's Awakening is almost my favorite 2D Zelda (A Link to the Past still has that special spot in my child's heart). It's pretty simple, but it's also perfectly portable. Its design is amazing in every aspect, graphics, controls, gameplay flow etc. They understood the limits of the GB and used it's strengths very well.
Honestly, it doesn't feel dated too much, just bite-sized.

Re: GameStop Has Leaked 10 Unannounced Full-Price Switch Game Listings

Moshugan

Serious prediction time:

Since Pokémon, Smash and Yoshi already have SKUs, and it's too early for Metroid, the First/Second Party listing might be:
> Animal Crossing (it's time)
>Pikmin 4 (finally, they might as well release it if it's been nearly completed all this time)
>Star Fox GP (what else would Retro have been doing, besides DKC:TF port?)
>A 3DS title (some well known franchise)
>Bayonetta 3 (curiously it doesn't have an SKU yet)

And less likely:
>HD Zelda Collection w/ Wind Waker, Twilight & Skyward

The Third Party games might include:
> Fortnite Deluxe Edition
> Spyro trilogy (although the Crash trilogy is only $39.99 in GS)
> Fallout 3 + New Vegas compilation
> Some actually new high profile 3rd Party game

And as a bonus, this is a bit of a stretch, but:
>GTA V (or more likely, the first Red Dead Redemption)

EDIT: I forgot Fire Emblem!! (Weird that we haven't heard much about it...)

Re: Domains For Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Pokémon Let's Go Eevee Appeared!

Moshugan

@SmaggTheSmug I was wondering about Pikachu and Eevee being very different Pokémon so it's a bit weird presenting them as alternative choices. But then again, they're mostly there for story purposes I assume. Other starters would be the same in both versions.

And this being a Kanto re-imagining so maybe they're being so bold as to do a complete overhaul of all the Pokémon, so even if they restart with Gen 1, it will be so different that it's in all practical purposes Gen 8.

Re: Someone Has Recreated A 1980s Game & Watch Classic Using Nintendo Labo

Moshugan

@Bunkerneath I guess the only way to share them is to make posts online detailing the creation process. A website that collected these tutorials and videos would be cool! In-game online sharing would be problematic because there would be limited ways to show the actual working process without being able to upload videos and photos outside the Switch.

Re: Someone Has Recreated A 1980s Game & Watch Classic Using Nintendo Labo

Moshugan

@Heavyarms55 Here's gameplay footage of the original game:
https://youtu.be/raJv6N0kSv4 (the above screenshot is from this video)
So the Game & Watch devices (and other similar ones) are simple electronic game machines that have a single type of game on them. Instead of a pixel grid that can display any images, like in Game Boy, the screens have large liquid crystal (LCD) shapes for all possible positions for the characters already pre-configured.

@pullmyfinger Sure, this is totes impressive! The person has used the tools given very imaginatively. It gets the imagination running about the possibilities with Labo Garage.
@MrBlacky Naw, it's also for the software! I agree that it's a bit expensive though.

Re: Feature: Bugging Out With Hollow Knight's Team Cherry

Moshugan

I have almost finished it on PC.
A great game with a fantastic atmosphere and interesting story/lore.
It's pretty challenging, although only the optional stuff can be overbearing, but it's always rewarding you for exploration and taking on challenges or just playing well.
The most frustrating thing was that sometimes when I got a new ability I couldn't remember where the places was where you needed them... :---D

I recommend it to every metroidvania and action-platformer fans!

Re: Nintendo Is Announcing "A New Way To Play" Later Today

Moshugan

My prediction is some kind of new software that less of a game and more of an interactive toy.

@Salamiaddict #120 A good guess, but I'm not sure if a car holder is a big deal enough to tease before announcing. It's just an accessory that any third party company could make.

@YoshiPilot #129 You might not be too far off! We might be looking at a some kind of kid friendly hardware solution. It might also be a "Pro Controller 4 Kidz" since the current one is bit of big.

Re: Nintendo's Track Record With Direct Broadcasts Points to Another One Happening Very Soon

Moshugan

@westman98 @Shiryu "Shiryu is a member of staff"
So I guess this is not trolling?

I just hope it was not a Hyrule Warriors style definitive edition port. It could use the same engine and assets from Wii U, but I hope there's new content (stages, characters) and updated characters (like BotW versions of Link and Zelda etc).
They should take the Splatoon 2 route with periodical updates.

The new Smash would be an excellent game to introduce the new online infrastructure with.

Re: Nintendo Direct Mini Is Happening Right Now

Moshugan

Objectively looking, it wasn't very exciting with lots of ports and games we already knew about, but it had release dates which is great! The content on offer is great though, so subjectively I'm very happy.

Of course this was just a teaser for games mainly coming before summer!

@Aerona Probably it's optional!
