I think having two system sellers (Zelda and this) in one year is already enough reason to own a Switch. That and knowing Nintendo is trying (and so far succeeding) at releasing games throughout the year.
I was very sceptical about this title, but there's no denying this looks like quality work, whether this type of game is your cup of tea or not. I'll definitely be buying this, even though I don't care for XCOM type games that much, it just seems like a game made by passionate people and I feel Ubisoft deserves some love for supporting Nintendo.
That they re-included pointer controls (which in my opinion worked fantastically well on the Wii) guarantees I'll buy it again. The fact it's just a totally amazing game doesn't hurt either.
What I'm actually wondering is, will the battery of a Switch eventually go empty even faster when you mostly have it in it's dock? Since it will constantly be charged while you're playing.
@nobboysbro Thought the same thing.
I'm actually wondering if Snipperclips will even release in March, since it's one week 'till March, yet still no definite releasedate, which is a real shame, because it looks like great fun!
@Joeynator3000 Maybe they could make it so you could take it with you (and still work) without the bottom or top half, so the Switch name would still make sense as well. ^^
I mostly care about the framerate on the Switch version, though if the Wii U version releases earlier, I doubt I can restrain myself. Being mostly a PC gamer, the framedrops are definitely noticeable, but the worst drop was when the camera was panning out at the start, for the rest it seems serviceable to me. Obviously we would all prefer a steady framerate of at least 30FPS and maybe Nintendo will be able to downgrade some of the effects on Wii U before release to get there [most of the time], but for now it still seems like a really enjoyable game. And as a bunch of people have said before me, as long as the Switch version doesn't have the same issue, though I understand if you're not planning to buy a Switch, that won't be much of help to you.
We've already gotten 1080p screenshots of BotW, so chances are it'll run in 1080p on the NX. Of course expecting 60FPS is unrealistic and not at all necessary, even on NX.. and this is coming from a PC gamer who is used to playing all games at 60FPS. Consoles are a different story and unless you want the NX to cost 1000+ bucks, there's no point even wanting 60FPS.
Now framerate drops are a whole other story and you can expect those to be (virtually) gone in the NX version, but I doubt they'll ever be able to get them ironed out for the Wii U version, especially if they still have to add villages and [unique] NPCs.
@PlutoPerson Wow, that would be insane. That seems to be more accurate, especially since it's actually based on BoTW. Thanks for sharing! Made me pretty happy to see that.
@FlameRunnerFast Ah sorry! It seems to be completely off anyway if you look at PlutoPerson's post, which I hope is more accurate to what we can expect.
@PlutoPerson http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/the-size-of-hyrule-area-comparison.188648711/
If that thread is anything to go by, it'd be 11,466 KM² (TP's mapsize times 12) and from what I read XCX is apparently 400 KM², so about 35 times bigger. No idea how accurate the numbers from that thread are though. For reference: Skyrim is 39 KM², The Witcher 3 is 136 KM² and Red Dead Redemption is 41 KM². So basically XCX's map is insanely huge.
I hope the numbers from that thread are wrong, since it'd mean Zelda: BotW isn't even 1/3 of Skyrim. Most likely he won't be far off though, but at least we can hope for a more meaningful and 'gameplay-filled' world.
"We've announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be coming out on both Wii U and the NX. Released at the same time for both."
Am I the only one who didn't know this yet? I kinda figured the NX version would launch at a later date. At least now I know that whenever we get a release date for Zelda, we'll know exactly when the NX is releasing and vice versa.
I'd love to see Nintendo make anime movies of their franchises (like they did for Animal Crossing), though perhaps anime isn't popular enough in the West.. even though Pokémon kinda contradicts that, but that might be a unique case.
@Moon I couldn't care less about Mega Evolutions, so totally with you on that. But as you also stated, it's highly doubtful they'd remove it, since apparently a lot of people love it.. for some reason.
I really hope this turns out to be untrue, because I would hate needing an internet connection just to play on a handheld device. Even if you're at a place that has free WiFi, it'll probably still be too slow to even properly stream the games..
Oh nice, Shake Dimension. One of those games I wanted to buy later on, but wasn't even available any more in the shops in my country. So yeah, will be sure to buy it now.
I never quite got why the haven't made the wrist-strap a round Pokéball, without the weird 'dripping' underside. Dunno which other Pokémon gadget also looked like that, but I remember seeing it before and back then also thinking it looked weird.
Once I noticed the Wii U makes a bunch of noise when there's a disc in it, yet when you play games from the Eshop (obviously without a disc still in the console) it's as quiet as can be, I started buying everything digitally. Wasn't that hard for me to do either, since I mostly play on PC through Steam.
Lol, there are actually people complaining about this? It's pretty much impossible to come across this glitch without actively trying to and yet you would opt for it to be removed? While there are plenty of others who love that it's still there and it doesn't hurt anybody who doesn't. Some people.. x_x
Kinda weird how Pokémon Red is the most popular overall, yet Nintendo-Life is full of Pokémon Blue supporters (hell even the poll for this Splatfest was won by Pokémon Blue with 10% more).
Like one of my other favourite game series, Half-Life, I actually quite like the fact the protagonist is a mute. Sure it might just be a left over from older times, but I don't see any reason to change it now. Wouldn't at all be against other NPCs talking though (as it is in the Half-Life series). And like @Denngar said, bad voice acting can ruin a game, while having Nintendo's signature grunts and squeals does not.
Since Fire Emblem Fates doesn't have a release-date for Europe yet, I picked Bravely Second, because I'm pretty much equally excited about those two games.
So this really is the 'big news' that was coming today? Quite disappointing. Not that I don't like Minecraft, but since I've played it years ago on the PC and haven't played it for years now, I'm not really tempted to go back to it on a console that doesn't have mod support (and makes you pay for textures you could download for free on the PC).
I was devastated when this game was first announced, since the rumours were that an actual Animal Crossing HD was going to be announced, but instead we got this piece of... Anyway, every time I see this title mentioned, it reminds me of how I felt when that happened, which wasn't/isn't great.
@Morpheel Yeah agreed, which is why I said 'not exactly the same', as they do indeed look quite similar. Ah well, we'll just have to wait and see anyway. Not like this being new artwork would actually confirm anything. ^^'
Nintendo-Life, a UK based website, only looking at the American version again, or is it really this way in Europe as well? Seeing as from what I've read on other websites, this isn't the case.
I really wish it was version 1.3, since I'm now used to Expert mode and Normal mode will probably feel way too easy. Though I guess it might be difficult enough without a mouse and keyboard..
I can only say that I really hope there will be DLC, but you never know for sure, since with Splatoon it was pretty clear from the start it would be getting [free] DLC.
Can't Nintendo-Life go after Nicalis and ask them what is taking them so long to release games in Europe? Cave Story+ took almost two years to reach Europe, 1001 Spikes still isn't here and I wouldn't be surprised if it's going to be months (if not years) before BoI:Rebirth hits the European Eshop..
Hell, not even Edmund acknowledges or replies to all the people asking about an European release, even though a lot of them (like me) have supported him from start and bought multiple copies to share with others. Just knowing why it takes so long and/or how long it will possible take for it to release in Europe would be enough for me.

Re: Guide: All The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild amiibo Unlocks
Sigh, it's honestly getting tiring how bad Nintendo is at handling stock.. Sometimes it feels like they enjoy making their fans miserable.
Re: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ Is Finally Getting Its Euro Launch This September
Already bought Launch Editions of both from the US. ^^
Glad others who aren't keen on importing will get to enjoy these gems as well now!
