@AlexSora89 I understand it makes sense and I know all there is to do is wait. I know being an Animal Crossing fan also means you shouldn't whine about things and just be "chill" (just like the games), but it's hard to deny I felt really disappointed to get nothing about AC in this Direct.
Also, if you hadn't said "not the amiibo ones", that's exactly what I would've thought you meant. ^^'
@AlexSora89 I never played Kingdom Hearts tbh, even though I'm quite the Disney lover, but I understand your point. ^^
In the end, I know myself well enough, that I know I wouldn't have complained at all if Nintendo showed some Animal Crossing gameplay, but they didn't, so then I start to nitpick about other games I care about. I will enjoy the Link's Awakening remake and will probably think it's amazing, even though I think it could've been even better (which IMO is only a compliment to Nintendo).
@AlexSora89 I hope so. And honestly, the graphics won't make or break the game for me, I even think the original Gameboy version still looks great, so I'll enjoy it regardless. ^^
EDIT: For me it's more about the fact that I know Nintendo could've made a top-down game that looks absolutely gorgeous.
@AlexSora89 Argh, you basically reminded me that Tunic, an indie game (afaik), looks better than the remake for Link's Awakening.. by a major company like Nintendo.
@Anti-Matter Yes, you can. After stealing anything and going back to the shop, you'll be instantly killed though. You basically have to make sure the shopkeeper is facing up (from what I remember), while you go out the door with one of the buy-able items in your hands.
I definitely agree with you and in no way do I think it looks bad and as I said, I'll definitely buy it. I was even playing through the DX version on my 3DS a few weeks ago, so I'll happily play this remake. Would probably excite me a lot if indeed they added new content. ^^
Oh, one more thing I have to say: Link's Awakening is also the only Zelda game where you have the option to steal from the shopkeeper. Something I managed to find out as a little kid and be amazed by. Though to be fair to my younger self, I was stuck on the first part for ages (not knowing English back then also didn't help), so I basically tried everything I could and still loved the game while being stuck. ^^'
@Spudtendo I think the fact it ends up all being a dream is what makes it so mysterious. It's not a dark game, but for me (and others) it felt surreal.
I found the Direct very meh, but I can see I'm in the minority here.
Link's Awakening is one of my most loved Zelda games, but first showing some awesome anime-style intro and then showing how the game actually has a fairly generic 2.5D look was disappointing. Does it look fine? Yes, it does. Does it look great and appropriate for the tone in Link's Awakening? Definitely not (I mean, just look at Link, when has he ever looked that "chibi-esque"). To be fair, I mostly wished it looked amazing, so I wouldn't feel so salty about not getting any Animal Crossing gameplay, but I will buy both regardless and do applaud Nintendo for remastering an amazing game that lots of people will have never played before.
@WayneLFC74 And they changed that in the remaster afaik. I own it on PC, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet (too many games), but one of the main selling points of the remaster was that they added normal point-and-click controls, next to the "old-school" tank controls (as they call it).
I guess no gyro controls again? I really don't understand why all these point-and-click games don't at least add this as an option. I realise you have to re-center more than preferable (which you also have to do in a game like Splatoon), but it works great for World of Goo and should work fine for point-and-click games. Sorry for the rant, I just really dislike it, since I would buy most point-and-click games for Switch in a heart-beat, if only they had gyro controls. I guess it's at least good that you can play with the touchscreen.
@JSG87 Yet out of the few gameplay bits they showed, they chose that? Seems very strange to me. This is not some livestream, but professionally edited footage.
@Shiryu According to that "common sense" the greatest multiplayer game ever made, which doesn't have any singleplayer content, would not deserve a 9/10 or 10/10, for the simple fact it wasn't "cheap".
There is no need to defend your review, I just found the tagline (or whatever those little added bits to the review title on the front-page are called) to clash with the final score. Again, that's just my opinion, no need to imply that your opinion is dictated by common sense, but mine isn't.
@Shiryu To me, that's like giving a game like Smash Bros. Wii U a lower rating because of it's singleplayer content. If a game's main focus is multiplayer and it does that extraordinarily well, I'd think it doesn't need a point reduced for its singleplayer content.
That's just my opinion though, which is what a comment section is for.
@Shiryu I did, but I have no idea what it is you're trying to point out. That, according to the review, it is "one of the most popular two-player Neo Geo titles in memory"?
I've never called a article on NintendoLife clickbait, but this is just pathetic. Just make the headline "how to setup a family account", not this. I'm honestly appalled.
Pretty nice, but does hurt seeing the Animal Crossing logo as the newspost image and thinking for a second: "Omg is Animal Crossing for Switch finally getting announced" >,<
As much as I loved BOTW, I feel this would've been even more awesome, though I've always had a preference for natural looking creatures instead of mechanical ones.
For me personally, it just looks so soulless and that's the main reason it comes of as a Minecraft-clone. The lighting and particle effects also look very off to me, whereas it looks nice in the "Super Duper Graphics Pack" trailer for Minecraft. Again, this is all based on personal preference. Good that apparently a lot of people enjoy it though.
Finally bought Steep on Steam, since I quite like skiing and it was on sale for €15,-
Besides that will be playing some Killing Floor 2 (as usual) with my girlfriend and we just played some Team Fortress 2, since she wanted to play something multiplayer together and I used to be really into TF2.
At some point I'll have to return to The End is Nigh and Stardew Valley.
There's a reason why almost no indie's mimic the style of N64/PS1 games, that's because they haven't aged very well. Even though I'm a MGS fan, this doesn't look very appealing to me (graphics and gameplay wise).
None of my friends care about Nintendo, so this doesn't bother me in the slightest, but it is pretty pathetic to not have voice chat on the actual console. I'm not missing anything, but I do find it bad Nintendo keeps having problems handling online play/functionalities, since they should easily be able to hire some people with a lot of experience in this department to guide them (but I guess they're not willing to listen).
I truly love Nintendo, but they can do such stupid things, like their stock problems keep blowing my mind as well (Gamecube adapter, amiibo's, amiibo cards, NES mini, Switch, etc.)
I'm glad to see a lot of people agree, that he made a very poor choice of words regarding Iwata and someone who feels the need to say something unnecessary like that, will enjoy no respect from me either.

@AlexSora89 That would be pretty nice. In the end, I can't deny I'm just glad this gem will get played by a lot of new people. ^^
I also already know 99% sure I will thoroughly enjoy it, it just disappoints me a bit when I know Nintendo could've really made it amazing.

Re: Japanese Poll Discovers That Vast Majority Of Viewers Were Pleased With The Nintendo Direct
The art-style of the Link's Awakening remake wasn't the best choice.
Sorry for being so salty, all I wanted was some Animal Crossing gameplay... >,<
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Coming To Nintendo Switch As A Console Exclusive
@MisterKorman If only everyone, from all platforms, thought like you. I wholeheartedly agree, even though I'd have bought it on the Switch anyway.

"one of the greatest two-player games"
Yet, it's an 8/10.. makes sense?

I think I might lose my sanity if they don't announce it at this year's E3.. or perhaps I already have, not like I'd notice anymore anyway.

I find it quite ironic THQ would be the ones complaining about this, while Battle Chasers looks like something that could easily run on the Switch.
Now if say CD Projekt Red (Witcher series developer) would say something like this, I would understand.
