Re: Feature: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Is Secretly One Of The Best Zeldas

" or 's trick where you have to switch controller ports to stop the boss from "reading your mind". These weird little fourth-wall-breaking tricks are annoying when you're playing the game, for sure, but become legendary as time goes on, and nostalgia's erosion rounds off the sharp edges."

I guess this sentence meant to include "MGS"? How were these things ever annoying though? Back then they were also amazing. Slightly frustrating to figure out? Yes. But super satisfying when you do, more so than most "puzzles".

"Phantom Hourglass punched through the fourth wall and broke into the meta-game by insisting that you transfer details from the top screen to the bottom screen by folding your DS in half like a book."

Hotel Dusk was the first to do that afaik and I absolutely loved it! Though I didn't see that as them breaking the fourth wall, but more as them making the game(s) even more immersive.

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Pokémon Diamond And Pearl On Switch And DS

To me, the new art-style is just absolutely atrocious. I honestly don't understand how some people can say this looks nice. Have you looked at Link's Awakening and compared it to this? There are even plenty of indie games that look way better than this, be it 2D or 3D.

I guess perhaps there is a generation of gamers who thinks these cheap looking mobile games are good looking? I'm honestly shocked there are this many people defending a game that looks as bad as this. Bare in mind, Pokemon is a billion dollar franchise and you should be expecting the best, not accepting the worse (and all this is coming from someone who thought Sword and Shield was very enjoyable [and was never bothered about the tree graphics], though I also understand the criticism other fans gave it and agree it could've been even better).

EDIT: On a more positive note, I think Legends is a great step in the right direction, but I'm also a sucker for nostalgia and would've gladly bought this game if it looked anywhere close to Link's Awakening's remake.

Definitely glad they announced this after the horrible looking D/P remasters. This one's graphics are a bit on the rough side as well, but there's definitely a lot of potential here and it really seems to be promising for the future of Pokemon games. I even like the historical setting, even though you know they just did that so they can justify the world being emptier (same as BotW, which was an amazing game).

Re: Sinnoh Confirmed: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Officially Announced For Switch

@Johnnel Link's Awakening looks gorgeous and has quite sophisticated post-processing effects going on. This on the other hand.. I think most people are not hating on the fact it has a chibi art-style, but the fact it looks like a cheap mobile game.

I can't believe there are 2D and 3D indie games, made by a handful of people (sometimes only one), that look WAY better than this game by a billion dollar company. It honestly baffles me.

Re: Nintendo's Mobile Business Is Here To Stay

@patbacknitro18 I'm very glad this is the way Nintendo approaches mobile gaming. And in the end, I think Nintendo deserves to become bigger than they're now. For example, I'd love to see a proper anime for The Legend of Zelda and I hope Nintendo will keep trying to use its IP's in different types of media.

Re: People Keep Buying The Wrong Pokémon Sword And Shield DLC

Monkeido

@gcunit Sad, but most times true. I can sort of live with the separate versions of the main game (though that's also just a relic from the past), but having the DLC be split in the same way is quite silly.

In Nintendo's defence, they don't have much say in the Pokemon franchise afaik.
