Upvote for Hyper Light Drifter, The Messenger, and Blasphemous. Not just beautiful games, but great games, period.

Narita Boy is hypnotically engrossing in its style, but lacks balance in gameplay progression, making it not as satisfying to play.

It was sad to see the N64 in comparison to PS and Saturn back in the day. SNES games often still look beautiful but most N64 games make people gag.

For those of you on the fence about diving into the Persona series, I would count P4G as one of the ten best games I’ve ever played in my life.

Reggie’s a huckster salesman, that’s all, people. His entire job was to make you excited to buy Nintendo products, and now to make money off his own persona. It’s not like he actually made games.

Just finished LTTP on my SNES Mini, so I’m firing up Mega Man X!

Going down the list, it’s amusing to see how many entries it takes to squeak above a score of 6.

It looks okay, not gorgeous. Hope the gameplay and story are strong.

I keep hoping to see a button poll, like with Boxart Brawl. Always disappointed to see these ratings boards.

@earthinheritor Agree 100%, the difficulty and grindyness of the first game had me closing up shop before completing everything. The first game had its shining moments, but ultimately left me bored and uninterested in the characters’ story arcs. Here’s hoping they have a better set of narratives the second time around.

Continuing my long and wonderful journey through my SNES mini. This weekend will have me exploring Hyrule and the World of Ruin.

Still working my way through my SNES Mini, as I suspect I will continue doing for the foreseeable future. This weekend includes a little Final Fantasy III, Yoshi’s Island, LTTP, and even some Castlevania IV.

Agree 100%. I just recently played NSMBU after not having played it for a couple years (so it should have felt fresh, right?), but I found myself bored after 15 minutes. Then I booted up my SNES mini and began SMW - couldn’t put it down.

Just finished Super Metroid. First time I’d played through it in many years. Wow, what a great experience. The music, the atmosphere, the sense of exploration and unease; beautiful.

Although I don’t really care for Mario Sunshine, I appreciate that Nintendo took a risk with trying something different.

I actually just booted up my SNES Mini this weekend and randomly chose Contra because I had never played it before, nor any other Contra game for that matter. What a delight to discover for the first time.

Watching Kill Bill for the first time in years made me want to come back and try to finish Cuphead. Wish me luck!

I don’t know, it looks kind of bare to me from the screenshots.

I can understand why everyone hated Twilight Princess as the worst Zelda because that game had so many problems with terrible storytelling and gameplay elements, but I hope they’re happy with the polished WW port.

I would love an HD remake of the original LoZ.

Hiroki Kikuta is my favorite VG composer, so I’m intrigued.

The art style for Shredder’s Revenge is too doughy and rounded; Turtles in Time got it just right. Music for the latter is also better by a mile.

I don’t get the sense that there’s a “race” going on with the Japan boxart.

The hand-drawn characters are pretty, but seeing the same square-jawed, beiged-out look on everyone leaves me bored. Even if the gameplay, story, music, etc., are great, when the characters look so generic, it makes me want to pass.

Holy smokes, that is the worst trailer for a game that I’ve ever seen!

Japan is the best, but they’re all bad.

Finishing Trials of Mana remake, and adding a little Shredder’s Revenge and NSMB Deluxe for good measure.

If you enjoy thinking, give Obra Dinn a go. It’s marvelous.

Despite its shortcomings, I really enjoyed playing through Origins. Just finished all four games, including Sonic CD for the first time.

I’m with you on that one. While I enjoyed Shredder’s Revenge, it left me a little wanting in terms of style, music, and gameplay. SOR4 is the superior game.

No one seems to understand that this game is a satirical comment on society’s failure to help the lumpenproletariat.

It’s sad how much everyone has come to hate this game.

I can see why everyone always said this game’s box art was universally terrible.

@Mutsu I played the 3DS remaster and couldn’t get into it after giving it a good 7-8 hours.

Needs both Lunar games for my money.

Brothers and sisters, pray for this company. FPS games only sold 12,000 copies total last year for all systems combined. I worry for the longevity of this company in these dark times.

Bizarre. It’s not like Atlus doesn’t support Nintendo hardware, or that at least P3P couldn’t run on Switch. I’m guessing there might be a back room reason or two for the Persona embargo.

I think we can all agree that everyone has seen the light and has come to despise roguelike games. This is a doomed enterprise.

I played this game within the last six months and was very disappointed by it in pretty much every respect.
