Everybody keeps saying that Reggie is either a huge incompetent failure, or a bobble-headed yes man for the suits in Kyoto. Either way, he disappoints everyone like a flaming pile of disgusting garbage. I wonder if people would be more receptive to a leader at NOA who knows what he/she is doing.
While it had its moments, N64 was my least favorite Nintendo console by far. I can count the number of games I enjoyed on it on one hand. And in general, games from this era have aged horribly; they look like piles of garbage.
I wonder what the top reasons are for why everyone hates Miitomo so much and calls it a disgusting pile of flaming garbage. I think there would be a ton of different reasons, for sure, but what would the top 50 be?
I really enjoy my N3DS, yet am surprised that there's not more support for it from third parties. With a user base that's 60 million strong, I would expect to see more. I wonder what Nintendo is doing wrong that drives so many third parties to hate their guts so much.
Everyone on the internet is enraged at how pointless and insulting this is. They are all calling it a pile of disgusting garbage. I wonder if they'll give this little scheme a chance or not. Even some of the worst ideas in history eventually become forgotten, which you can say is a positive.
Yes, yes, and yes; I completely agree on all points. Nintendo user interfaces, for all their veneer of cheery cleanliness, is garbage in the 3DS eshop. Definitely needs an overhaul.
Is this homebrew issue one of the reasons why everyone hates Nintendo these days? All I ever hear from people anymore is that Nintendo is a massive, disgusting failure. I wonder if they mean that or not.
Everyone keeps saying that the NX is going to be a huge flaming pile of garbage. I wonder if there's a chance that it won't be. I'm an optimist; maybe it won't disappoint everybody.
I fail to see the strategic advantage of Nintendo playing its cards so close to the vest. What are they afraid of? Sony and Microsoft already have their next consoles planned and seem to regard Nintendo as merely a blip on their radars, yet Nintendo acts like the NX is a state secret. For me, an admitted fanboy, I find myself caring less and less for their way of doing things.
I remember back in the lead-up to the Gamecube's release, a couple friends of mine were debating whether or not to purchase the system. One said, "Why buy a Gamecube? It won't have any third-party support." The other said, "Well, at least it'll have Mario and Zelda..." Same old story now, 15 years later. I keep expecting Nintendo to wake up and get serious, but it looks like it's going to be business as usual.
I'm totally open-minded about the new Megaman interpretation. How much I like or dislike it will depend a lot more on the quality of the show overall than a first impression of the character design.
Finally getting around to this game now, and am about 3/4 of the way through. Everything I've played so far has been excellent - the game's environment/visuals are truly outstanding, even immersive. I would strongly recommend playing it, as I have, with earbuds in, to really get into the game. The sound effects and music only add to its gothic grandeur; the story's cut scenes are forward-moving without being intrusive or overindulgent; and the overall presentation is first-rate. I haven't actually played a CV game all the way through in my life, but I'm definitely going to finish this one.
It seems to me that the lack of NX at E3 speaks to a lack of confidence in the system. Let's say they show its specs (and whatever new gimmick is taped on), and everyone thinks it's crap; then Nintendo has to spend all of 2016 arguing "Please just give us a chance!" Whereas if they knew it was a killer crowd pleaser, then 2016 would just be a huge momentum builder. I'm not getting my hopes up on this one.
We all wish the NX will be the second coming in consoles, but how often has Nintendo really delivered on your expectations? I mean really? Personally, I believe the N64, GameCube Wii, and WiiU have all fallen short of what they could have been - yes, the phenomenally successful Wii included. I always have thought of that system as an accidental success. How much further could the aforementioned systems have gone if Nintendo had proceeded with them differently? There's no reason why Nintendo shouldn't still be top dog in the industry, but it just isn't.
All I can think of is, "So it's come to this..." That is, we have the biggest video game trade show of the year, and Nintendo is only showcasing one game. Yikes. It's like the past 15 years of naval gazing and near total reliance on first-party games has relegated them to their own little sad birthday party for one. Make a wish, Nintendo.
If this is true, it just points to more obsession with insularity and control, which has hurt Nintendo far more than it has helped it, because it ultimately damages relationships with third parties. The ultraconservative suits on the board no doubt cling to doing business as usual, but guess what Nintendo, it's not 1989 anymore.
Does anyone else find it frustrating that M2 is willing to put the Cadillac treatment on classics like Sonic 2, and Nintendo just puts a game like SMB3 on the shelf like a can of beans?
Just a lot of words, in my opinion. Kimishina-san strikes me as a very conservative businessman in the traditional bureaucratic mold. My guess is that, despite his claims of a large launch lineup, the NX will still find itself with just a handful of games on day one, followed by a slow and steady trickle of very good first-party games. This man is not a shaker, and he's not gunning to break with "the Nintendo way" as we've come to know it. He and the board are hoping mobile revenues will allow them to maintain healthy profits and therefore not have to change the way they have grown used to doing business.
I'm going to be the voice in the wilderness here, but Xenoblade Chronicles did nothing for me. I had high hopes, but it just got repetitive and boring really quickly. Gorgeous game, but it was all hollow wood to me.
The Rare team from the SNES and N64 era was extraordinary. I guess it's telling that their sun began to set at around the same time Reggie moved in. Is that one of the reasons why everyone hates Reggie's guts?
I wonder why Reggie hasn't tried lobbying to get any Lunar games on the 3DS. Is that one of the reasons why everyone keeps saying that he's such a huge, miserable failure?

Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
Garbage words.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th June (North America)
Glad to see Mega Man 7 on the eShop, but for my money, Mega Man X would have been far more welcome.
Re: Super Audio Cart Brings Classic Samples To Modern Musicians
This sounds fantastic. I am going to love playing around with this.
Re: Yo-kai Watch Sold Less Than Half a Million Units in North America
I hope this doesn't discourage Nintendo from trying out new IP's. Half a million is nothing to sneeze at, and there's the clear success of Splatoon...
Re: Soapbox: Can Mario Party Return To Its Former Glory?
I wonder why Nintendo decided to make games that everyone hates with MP 9 and 10. Was it some kind of marketing gimmick?

Re: Nintendo of America Has a Snazzy New Slogan - "There's No Play Like It"
Wow, very disappointing. Awkward, clunky, and uninspired.
Re: Random: EA Executive is as Non-Committal to NX as Possible, PR Assistant Approves
EA is a business, not a charity. I don't blame the cautiousness one iota.

Want.
Re: Review: Yoshi's Story (Wii U eShop / N64)
This was a game I wanted to like, but - eh - just couldn't. Kind of like Yoshi's New Island, it's pretty, but just isn't that fun.
Re: Rumour: More Claims Made For New Legend of Zelda on Wii U and NX, Gender Choice For Playable Character
Gender option sounds cool. For my money, it would just add to replayability.
I just hope they don't go with "Linkle." Awful name.

@VanillaLake Right on. Totally agree.

Holy smokes! This is a beautiful ode to the original Zelda. Love it.
(Only minor complaint is the iffy hit detection.)
Re: Nintendo of Europe Rolls Out Official Online Stores In More Countries
Once again, NOE puts NOA to shame. I think it's time for Reggie to pack up his things and go fail at some other company.

Re: The Nintendo DSi Shop Shuts Down Next Year
I've only ever heard people call the DSi Shop a huge, flaming pile of garbage. I wish they wouldn't say that all the time.
Re: Review: Miitomo (Mobile)
Don't know what to make of this thing yet, but I'll approach it with an open mind. (Note to Reggie.)
