Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 11th)

Metroid Prime! Still playing through it, and man, it's too good. Why isn't every game like this? Sci-Fi world with amazing worldbuilding, interconnectivity, music, visuals, AND the main character is a hot babe!?😂

I'm taking my time with it, it's worthy of its reputation. If only they made a sequel...

Maintenance in Animal Crossing New Horizons as usual.

I have reached chapter 10 for Adam's Venture Origins. I like some of Mathematics puzzle during the gameplay.

If I get time to use my Switch, definitely MK8 Deluxe though I do wish wave 4 tracks appeared more frequently online.

After seeing the new trailer for the Switch version, I've dug out Fantasy Life on the 3DS. So looking forward to playing it on Switch!

On PS5 i will be continuing with Hogwarts Legacy and Octopath Traveler 2. I've also bought an horror game called Someday I'll Return which looks interesting.

On switch I will be playing some Pokémon Violet as im about to do the Elite 4, I will also be continuing with Metroid Prime Remastered.

Still hammering away at Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Going for completion on all but the Scavenger collectibles on the prequels and Episode IV before moving on to Empire; probably be at it for another week or so.

Think skyward sword on switch lite. Played about 20 mins and just couldn’t do sword swinging consistently when I got it at launch so gonna give another go. I know it’s an awesome game as had the wii back in the day.good times xxx

Chapter 7 of Xeno 3 still, but I can't feel the end is nigh!
As much as I enjoyed it and wish I'd have done all the side stuff during this playthrough, I'm looking forward to finally starting some other games I've been looking forward too like Kirby and Engage.
I've also played the resi4 demo. I somehow haven't played the original (I know... A sin!) So it'll be nice finally going into one of these remakes and not complaining that it doesn't look like the original like Demons Souls or Shadow of The Colossus!

I’ll be playing Project Zero mask of the lunar eclipse, Metroid prime remastered and I’ll spend a bit of time on Golden eye. It’s good to play some N64 classics but like to spend more time on new / current Switch games.

Prolly just continuing Octopath 2 mainly, unfortunately it has entered similar stage as OT1 had towards the end where you really start to feel the repetition but I don't really want to give up on it either.

Tried the Resident Evil 4 remake demo, it was fine though I still find its existence highly unnecessary.

Friend is also visiting for the weekend so probably some Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 too to test out the new tracks. I'm going to ask if he's up to for some Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 too for old times' sake since I think both of us are kind of hyped for the announcement of the new title in the series.

Metroid Prime remaster for me!! Just got to the boss where you get the Wave Beam, but i'm struggling to beat them with 2 energy tanks, so i'm going to double back and look for some more before trying again.

I have far too many games on the go and not enough time! I am hoping my Evercade EXP limited edition arrives today, so any gaming over the weekend will focus on absolute classics such as R-Type, Truxton, Gaiares and Final Fight.

Besides a couple other new Switch backlog recruits like Beasties and Neodori Forever, I finally pulled the trigger on GTA Trilogy - certainly no impulse purchase as we're talking a game I almost beat, one I 100%'d and one I 98%'d or so (going by release order), but such games belong in portable form the most, warts and all. And that is also putting me in the genre mood for more driving open-worlders in general, from SR4 on Switch and Liberty City Stories on Vita to Just Cause 4 and Agents of Mayhem on PS4 and maybe even Lego City Undercover TCB on 3DS (laptop time is possible but not guaranteed this weekend, but on top of the largely planned Resident Evil 2 and FFXIII, I might also tend to some JC2, GTA 4 and GTA 5 thereon if the stars so align).

But THEN there are yet other genre moods tickling me, from dungeon crawlers like SMT Nocturne/SJ and Mary Skelter 2 to vaster RPGs like FFXII, FFXV and NieR Automata (Xenoblade games in any capacity and combination go without saying) to shooters like Bioshock 2, Borderlands 2 and Battle for Neighborville to roguelikes like Isaac, Little Noah, Demon's Tier+ and Undermine to sims like RF5, Portia and Terraria.😅 And some other varied itches like Ghostbusters and Dead End Job, Cris Tales and King's Bounty, Astral Chain and No Man's Sky, the other platforms' backlog dishes like Endless Frontier, Code Vein, Virtue's Last Reward and MotorStorm Apocalypse... and hey, we just had MAR10, so I might as well make more progress in Yoshi's Island, Luigi's Mansion and/or Super Mario Kart for the occasion. But hey, everyone reading this should already deem me nuts for buying GTA trilogy on Switch, right?

Huh, not yet? And if I mention that I spent 30 dollars on it while having similarly discounted Snowrunner and Wreckfest under my nose?😜 Someday, though. Definitely someday.

EDIT: great, after writing that last bit, now I want to spend some time in Mudrunner as well.

@nhSnork what do you think about the performance of the GTA trilogy?

A 60/40 split between void terrarium 2 and Disney dreamlight valley haven't seen anyone talking about the former online, probably because it's gotten lost in so many releases this month, I can vouch my wallet stings! But it improves on the first game in almost every way and just like last game, its a joy to play through and I'm loving that more emphasis has been placed on the story this time around. Also I don't know if the game is darker in terms of Torikos illnesses or I just didn't let her get sick that often before but yikes! poor kid. I'm gonna say it this is the best mystery dungeon game/series I've ever played.

As for Disney I am kinda gimping my progress on purpose because if I unlock another biome I know I will just get addicted in the loop and not be able to play Void at the same time, and honestly I need to be able to complete something for the trade-in value because I'm so far overbudget and Ryza and Trails are not even here yet...oof!

Also plodding through the Cereza demo. So far I feel like it had just been a visual novel nothing of value would have been lost since I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay. Seems like this would have benefitted from couch co-op as well but maybe that's just me and you would lose the point of the game.

Teamwork makes the dream work (I've been getting that youtube ad constantly 😓)! I'll be playing some more Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe with my wife and daughter if I get the chance. For single player, I need to pick at Neon White some more, but I've also got a slew of newly purchased games and content that i could start, so it's difficult to choose (Dead Cells Castlevania DLC, Mario Rabbids SOH, Kao the Kangaroo, Metroid Dread, Shin Megami Tensei V, etc). I'm at a loss as what to choose. Maybe something lighter after banging my head against a wall with Neon White.

@Zuljaras My local game shop has a couple copies of Faxanadu for dirt cheap. I've been tempted to pick one up for a while now.

I'm stuck in work until Monday so It will likely just be Metroid Prime or Hyrule Warriors.
Can't wait to get home and carry on with Wo Long - Shame we don't have more Souls games on Switch.

Wo Long and Atomic Heart. The gaming year has started pretty well. Also picked up Chronos: Before the Ashes cheaply on Switch without seeing any reviews. A bit rough but seems quite good so far.

Getting 100% of Kirby return to dreamland! After that I'm not sure if playing minish cap or pokemon conquest, I'm in the mood for some good old games.

@Zuljaras agreed, I brought the NES Faxandu way back in 1992 from Toys r US and thoroughly enjoyed it back then. I also purchased from the Virtual Console store for my WIIU (WII VC) and still enjoy it to this day even though it can be quite difficult sometimes!

Octopath traveller. Perfect cozy game for the weather - there’s just something about playing snes style rpgs when it’s snowy outside that I absolutely love.

Also a bit of Slay the Spire and Spiritfarer

This weekend, I’m turning Mario Day into Mario weekend, I kicked things off with Mario Golf: Super Rush. In a bit, I’ll probably start Paper Mario via Nintendo Switch Online. I’ll also squeeze in some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the kids, as well as some Mario Party Superstars with the wife while I’m at it.

This has been a tough go this week. Fell out of Tunic, couldn’t get into Nier, Persona 5 didn’t hold my attention (I expect to go back to it), making it slim pickings this weekend. For some reason, Stardew Valley, a genre I’ve never enjoyed, has been my jam as of late. I just don’t know what it is, I can’t put it down!

I'm going to Japan in two months (dream trip) so I'm playing as many Japanese or Japan-set games as possible to get in the mood. On Switch, I'll be doing Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin this weekend, as well as aiming for more progress on my slow-burning Ghost of Tsushima playthrough on PS4.

Just finished AI: The Somnium Files (on Switch) and that was absolutely brilliant.

I've played nothing but Void Scrappers on Switch since Wednesday. It's Vampire Survivors in Space and costs less than a (Starbucks) coffee.

I beat Theatrhythm Final Bar Line last week on the Switch and I’m currently playing Hogwarts Legacy on the ps5. Not enjoying HL as much as I would’ve hoped TBH.

Probably gonna start Metroid Prime Remastered later today and finally play the only Forza Horizon game I’ve never played now that I found a physical copy of Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox One.

I've decided not to buy any new games (except TotK) until I've finished my backlog: 13 games on Switch and two on PS4. (My Steam library doesn't count and is rarely played anyway.)

I finished Death's Door last weekend (recommended) and have now started on Yakuza 0, which is completely ridiculous and great fun so far.

I stopped playing Metroid Prime on Steam Deck and started playing the remastered version on switch. Now I'm playing Sable and Lakeview Cabin on Steam Deck. Prime remastered is a very good game and gives me a legitimate reason not to play my old GameCube ROM.

@deecas I went a few years ago and it was great recognising places I'd seen in games. Bits from Nioh, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #fe and Persona 5 were especially cool. I had no idea I'd be visiting one of the places from Nioh and it was really weird realising why I recognised the place. Enjoy your trip.

Well I tried out the re4 demo and it was decent, it was pretty intense during the big village showdown part, but I dunno it feels a bit too familiar and I just like the original better in the control and layout of the hud department I think. It feels a bit looser in the movement and the running to me and the health gauges the display is just a bit too small I feel. It still seems like a fine bg arm and I may get it eventually but it just didn’t blow me away as I kindve already knew what to expect.

Besides all that I’ll be on Mario kart 8 enjoying the wonderful new cups and I’m grinding away on the splatoon catalog again.

I really recommend getting at least all the party members and heroes and doing their ascensions quests so that you can get every class to lvl 20. Otherwise you may lose almost half of the actual story content and also 50% of character developments. Hurrying through the game gave many players a lacking lasting impression of the game.

@MarioBrickLayer Several I've had for ages and a few that I bought in a moment of weakness during the most recent eShop sale. Some are pretty short, but I don't game a lot so they'll probably last me well into 2024 after I add TotK.

@MarioBrickLayer - I got through what I assume was most of the first stage, but it just wasn’t holding my attention at that moment of time, unlike Tunic where I was thoroughly enjoying it and I suddenly lost interest. I blame my excitement for TotK. 😂

I definitely intend to try Nier again down the road, but with backlog games like Metroid Prime, Persona 5 & Xenoblade 3 all waiting for a playthrough, it might be a while.

I’m still deeply into Octopath Traveler II (Nintendo Switch). I’ve completed everyone’s second chapter, acquired all secondary jobs, purchased an expensive ship, and have beat a few “Crossed Paths” missions.

Right now, I’m very invested in Castti’s (The Apothecary) storyline. There’s a lot of mystery and intrigue around the one they call “Bonemender”. Also, I have Osvald’s (The Scholar) secondary class as a Warrior, and let me tell you—he’s OP.

Ultimately, I’m enamored with the game and yet to experience burnout, which is a testament to how brilliant I think the game is. Personally, I consider it one of the best JRPGs ever made, and I can’t pull myself away from the game even after 40+ hours. I’m looking forward to seeing where all of these character stories end up, and I have a feeling by the time it’s all said and done my playtime will be between 80-100+ hours.

The next game(s) on my list to play next are: Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, Dead Space Remake, Metroid Fusion, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania, and Resident Evil 4 Remake when it releases.

Finished Prime Remastered on the same day Fusion came out. And I got it as a physical copy, so I feel like they spaced them perfectly apart. But when I booted up Fusion, I felt like I was shortchanging myself by jumping in mid-series.

So I'm in a Metroid 1-5 run now. I finished Metroid 1 on NES NSO app yesterday, and moved onto Metroid 2: Return of Samus on the GB NSO app. I'll jump over to Metroid 3: Super Metroid when I finish this one (on the SNES NSO app), and then finally get to Metroid 4: Metroid Fusion on the GBA NSO app. Then I'll boot up my Metroid 5: Metroid Dread cart and do a new playthrough!

We're in a second golden age for Metroid!!!

Neeeearly have 100% on Metroid Prime Remastered (first time ever lol. Not using a guide and currntly missing 2 missile expansions and a super bomb...might be here next week as I have no idea where they are lol! The sense of isolation is real!!!)

Playing Mario galaxy 2 in celebration of MAR10 day

Finished Minish Cap (I never could get to see what those bloody Gorons were doing - didn’t even know how to interact with them, unlocked 5 out of 6 but refused to look it up online), started Fusion but will be spending today finishing Foregone (an excellent 2D action game that is never mentioned, for some reason).

This weekend will be visiting with family and also thrift store shopping for costumes for my daughter’s school play, but I’m sure I’ll squeeze in a mission or two in Fire Emblem Engage and the kiddos and I have reserved time to try out the new tracks and good ‘ol Birdo in Mario Kart 8 tonight.

Meanwhile, NSO titles like Metroid Fusion and LoZ The Minish Cap along with recent diverse deliveries NeverAwake, Hell is Other Demons, and Procession to Calvary are all begging me to try them for the first time.
Is declaring a GAMECATION a thing? Because that’s what I need to do. 😵‍💫

Metroid Prime Remastered and Metroid: Fusion. Feels like Thanksgiving break 2002 when I was home from college.

So I'm the only one playing The Last Spell, kind of surprised. Tactics, roguelike, base-building, mild tower-defense, & a horde of demons and wizards and stuff. It's a lot to balance at first but the game has a very addictive loop that makes you want to keep on going back for more. Highly recommended.

This weekend will be me just chilling out with some Wii U playing Bonk's Revenge, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Super Mario Galaxy 2 (digital version) and Donkey Kong Country 2

Busy Saturday, Sunday less so. I'm giving my Switch a short break after beating the curious case that is Super Mario Sunshine, so I'm currently working on:

• Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (3DS) - Just hit 35 hours and finally unlocked vocations this week. Now working through the Al-Balad scenario.
• Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (Wii U VC) - Just started this one last night. It's similar to The Great Cave Offensive in Kirby Super Star. I'm exploring as I go and already have one mirror shard.
• Art Style: PiCTOBiTS (DSiWare) - I forgot DSiWare was still available on the 3DS eShop and picked this one up since I've seen it recommended. It's a unique, interesting mix between Tetris and...well, any match puzzle game where you need to move random pixels on the screen to match color rows.
• Pokemon Go (Mobile) - I'm getting in on some of those Regidrago Elite Raids this morning.

In the TTG department, my D&D group finally resumes play this evening! It's been almost three months lol.

Finished Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga so now I jumped on Metroid Fusion on the GBA online games. Actually getting back into Mario Kart 8 too.

Happy day after MAR10 Day! Will likely grab one of the discounted Mario titles (got my eyes on Mario Party Superstars or Yoshi’s Crafted World). Slime Rancher has been sitting in my backlog from a sale awhile back. Finally, jumped into it and am absolutely hooked (also, it plays a lot like Metroid Prime Remastered…which I’m also playing). Trying to keep up with my son in the new Fortnite Battle Pass, but he’s already level 26 after one day of play (got my work cut out for me). Still cruising through Disney Dreamlight Valley and playing a lot of the NSO titles lately (Comix Zone, Tetris, GoldenEye).

Mostly Metroid Prime. But some Phantom Hourglass when I can. And on xbox, I just bought DMC 4SE, so a little bit of that. Also, a little bit of the RE4R demo.

You’re so right! Faxanadu was one my favorite games back in the 80s on my NES, one of those titles I now most regret trading in to upgrade to a newer console back in my ignorant youth. I haven’t played it since then, but even now it’s a fond memory.

@deecas I am about 10 hours into Sakuna and getting into the rhythm of fighting and farming. What a great game!

Metroid Prime for me too, such great atmosphere. But I am also playing the amazing Yoshi's Island on Snes Mini for about the 100th time since 1995. I consider it one of the greatest games of all time, it is so creative and never fails to bring a smile to my face. Amazing game design and follow up to World.

Bravely Default 2- Octopath 2 had me interested but I didn’t really care for the first, so after it made me feel like I HAVE to play a new (to me) RPG I decided on BD2. I am absolutely loving it. It’s grindy but doesn’t make the process annoying so I enjoy it. The worlds are fantastic as well. I feel like the story is very standard but it still brings you into the world.

Metroid Prime Remastered- I was never much of a Metroid person so never played it. This game is phenomenal and cannot get enough!

Recently, I often get tired after work. That's one of the reasons why I started playing games less often. Sigh
I bought Phantom Breaker: Omnia and Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge last week. But, I'm still haven't finished with Vampire: The Night Warriors yet. So, that's why I started playing Phantom Breaker: Omina since last week. Well, let's move on...
Phantom Breaker: Omnia – Completed on 100% Mikoto Nishina, Mei Orisaka, and Waka Kumon's stories in Story Mode. Completed Yuzuha Fujibayashi's story on 66%. Completed Arcade Mode playing as Kurisu Makise. Played with various(not all) characters in VS Mode. Earned various achievements(in-game achievements in fighting game!) and badges(for (online) player's profile). What can I say about the game? - It is really underrated. And that makes me sad...
What's about gaming related things, well - I have read short(2 chaps in total) Phantom Breaker: Omnia - First Contact web-manga. Aaand... That's not quite a gaming related thing, probably buuut... After all of these Dante Alighieri's Comedy references in Resident Evil/BIOHAZARD REVELATIONS, I finally bought this book! And I bought a deluxe/collector's edition one, with Gustave Doré's illustrations. But I haven't started reading the book yet, unfortunately. I'm still haven't finished with Fyodor Dostoyevsky, H. P. Lovecraft, and Ryûnosuke Akutagawa's books...
My plans for this month are - complete all characters' stories on 100% in Story Mode in Phantom Breaker: Omnia. Have a nice gaming weekend, everyone.

Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Breath of the Wild, the last two with the kids, new courses are awesome, and on BotW, I'm helping them with their files. I'm going to give it another go on the RE4 demo. So far, it seems the game is going to be FANTASTIC!

I'm giving a Metroid a chance so I'm playing through Fusion and Prime Remastered. Fusion is great and I am having so much fun with it. I'm struggling with Prime, though, it's just not clicking with me. I'm feeling a strong urge to drop it and replay Fire Emblem Engage.

I'm now 83 hours into Persona 5 Royal and a lot has happened story wise! I can't say I'm super surprised that Akechi was a bad guy. I think I got a pretty big hunch when he told joker how much he hated him lol. I've gotta say though every time a characters portrait changes to something I haven't seen it low-key freaks me out and I love it 😂. I'm also quite amazed at some of the hints they gave early on in the game. Like the conversation about pancakes went right over my head until they did a flashback to it! I'm now at the beginning of the 7th palace but admittedly, I think I'm starting to get burnt out a bit so I'm going to take another break.

I ended up starting Final Fantasy XIII on steam a few days ago. I'm only 3 hours in (chapter 2 I believe) but I don't hate it so far. I've also enjoyed the combat system up to this point and I'm pretty excited to keep playing!

I also finished Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars earlier this week. I think it was solid overall but I'm not super eager to dive into one of the other games in the series yet. I might get another if it goes on a steep enough sale. I'm a little bit disappointed that this game ended up having multiple endings because it really felt like it didn't need it.

@MarioBrickLayer so far (intro missions and ten respective collectibles) no rough spots in any of the three. My only minor peeve is that the custom map marker, while appreciably upgraded with the later games' GPS system, now insists on going poof every time you reach the destination... which can get in the way of things at times.😆

After finishing up Bioshock Remastered (What a masterpiece!), I wanted to try something different, and since TotK is just around the corner I decided to give BotW a go. I am having an absolute blast with it despite it is my very first Zelda game ever! I have managed to tame the first Divine Beast and now finishing up the side/shrine quests in Zora's Domain.

Also been playing Mary Skelter 2 on and off ever since I beat Xenoblade Chronicles DE, so I will try to make some progress in that one as well (Splatoon 3 is just always taking my time away from it, haha).

Same old boring answer for me this weekend: Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Life’s been pretty busy lately, but I have managed to make it to the 90 hour mark, and am sitting in the last chapter. I’m mopping up a lot of side quests and enjoying a leisurely exploration of this incredible world.

I’m also making my last purchases on my 3DS. I picked up the GBC Mario Golf, along with Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. I keep going back and forth on whether I should pick up Pokemon Yellow, Tails Adventure, and Donkey Kong Country Returns. I’m sure I’ll cave as the final date draws nigh.

Octopath Traveler 2 on Switch, and I kinda got the itch for an old favorite, so Dark Cloud 2 on PS5.

@Nanami_Ataraxia It can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but push on. Once the loop clicks, it really gets going and everything vibes. There's SOOO much to tinker with in this game but it all works really well. Very pleased despite being kind of bad at the game so far, but that's the joy of a rogue, you ALWAYS have another run waiting and can improve.

For some reason I beat the original super Mario bros in half an hour when I was bored, so I think I’m gonna try beating the rest of the 2D Mario games since I never beat them for some reason. Mario day celebration, I guess

@nhSnork i'll buy it at some point. It's a bit of a shame though, imagine if they had done as good a job as Metroid Prime Remaster, how many copies would it have sold?!?

I’ll probably finish Return to Monkey Island this weekend. It’s a great game - a real return to my childhood.

Are you implying that Metroid Prime 2: Echoes isn't a worthy sequel? Many people, myself included would count it as an equal, and in some ways superior, game.

Dark world puzzles, the lore, ing, Luminoth, suits, dark and light beams, boss fights, locations, music (Torvus Bog especially). It's a fantastic and wonderful game

working on my second play through on metroid prime remastered hopefully retro and other studios that made this are working on 2 and 3.

I really hope Echoes gets the same treatment as 1. I heard lots of mixed things about it but its fans seem really passionate, so I really want to try it out

Fire Emblem Engage and Warframe. Bloody hard to juggle those two games but I made Engage the priority over the last week! Started on Hard mode and I’m getting the hang of it after initially getting my arse handed to me 🤣

Oh I completely missed that, and thought I had to defend my favorite Prime game haha. I'll leave my comment up, in case anyone else has doubts to the quality of Prime 2.

And I agree, a remaster of Echoes would be amazing. I'd also take Corruption, but I'm not clamoring for it.

My biggest plan this weekend is Persona 3 Portable on my Switch Lite. Haven't touched it for a while and feel bad about it, and really want to get into the story already.

If I have the time, I'll return to the Demon Slayer game on my PS4, since I'm finally about to hit the spider family arc from the manga/anime. My main Switch might get some time shiny hunting in Arceus, seeing as I still need so much there. And I'll most likely put it some puzzle time on the first Professor Layton game. Finally playing this series and I'm really enjoying it!

Finally got around to playing (and beating) the Spider-Man DLC so might wrap up the remaining side stuff in that. Also kind of want to try and finish Engage and Corpse Party before WWE 2K23 comes out but dunno if I'll actually get around to them.

@MarioBrickLayer haha Im doing a Metroid marathon! I’ve beat all the 2D games and Prime, moved onto Prime 2 and Prime 3 after. I was gonna replay Dread as my “finale” but I got impatient and beat it again in a week. It’s really satisfying to blow through games you’ve always wanted to beat but never found the time to. Hope you have fun, the Metroid series is phenomenal, my favourite game series of all time

Ooh sounds really good I am a weirdo and I kinda enjoy being overwhelmed. before I comment further though, is it a rouge lite with progression between runs or rougelike where you die and have to start all over again?

I ask because I will hold my hands up I am one of those obnoxious 'cozy game' people except I did it before it was cool, I'm talking animal crossing on the gamecube and harvest moon 64 kinda person XD who (to be fair has branched out a lot in recent years) but I still suck with skill based things and rougeLIKES frustrate me unless they are deckbuilders for some reason. And if you are struggling then imagine how I would do! XD

Everything else you said sounds really positive though, but it's kinda a deal breaker for me when failure is so punishing.

For Mario Day I tried booting up Super Mario Odyssey again after first beating it 1-2 years ago! It's such a wonderful game, with buttery smooth 60FPS, amazing music, beautiful visuals, a charming presentation, with tight and engaging controls. Plus I never completed the little postgame afterward, so I think I'll have to look it up online and do that this weekend! There are genuinely very few things in the game industry quite like an excellent 3D Mario. Makes me even more excited for the movie in April!

Pokemon is a mainstay for me, so I'm playing yet more Pokemon Scarlet since I caught Walking Wake but haven't gone online yet to catch Iron Leaves on Violet's side. Still have to train up some good Pokemon counters to Iron Leaves, since it's a Psychic Tera Raid, so I have to get on that before it ends this weekend!

More consistently than perhaps any other game however, I've been playing little bouts of Animal Crossing New Horizons over the past year, slowly building up my new island back to postgame territory so I can terraform properly. There's just something so calming and ritualistic about booting up the game, listening to the music, saying hi to all the villagers, and catching a few bugs/fish. Just yesterday I finally maxed out the Nook Miles sticker where you talk to every villager in the same day, so I'm happy about that!

Also making a point to plug away at Pokemon Legends Arceus before the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero launches this fall. Just made it to the winter area, and was having a blast catching all the new Pokemon in the area. I'm still on the hunt for Lucario! I don't want to look up exactly where he is, but I'm worried I'll beat the game before I find him.

Also want to dive back into Super Mario 3D All-Stars this weekend, and boot up Super Mario Sunshine. I'm really glad I jumped on a copy at the last second before stores sold out completely, because I just don't think the GameCube and Wii games will be available anytime soon.

Metroid Prime Remastered keeps selling out physically! I'm just too slow checking the stores I guess. So I'm waiting on Metroid Prime until the stock stabilizes. So instead, I've pulled the trigger on Octopath Traveler 2! I chose shipping so it won't arrive for a few days, but I'm excited to be playing that next weekend. In the demo the music was so amazing, and the presentation was gorgeous and so cozy, so I'll be looking forward to diving into it properly. The only thing I'm worried about is burning out on level grinding, since I tend to min/max in RPG's until I get sick of a game ^^; I have half a mind to play it on Easy mode just to avoid grinding altogether!

First time in a long time I don't have a game that I'm in the middle of.

I'm waiting for the 4th wave of DLC for Fire Emblem Engage to release. I wanna play that, then do a 3rd playthrough.

Also am in a hurry up and wait situation with Chained Echoes. I really wanna play it, but I'm waiting for it to go on sale. Looks fantastic.

Got Octopath Traveler 2 and will eventually play it, but the past quite a few months has fatigued me in the best possible way, releasing game after game I really wanna play. Gonna take a breather before I tackle another long RPG. Prolly just goof around with wherever my nose leads me for now.

Hitman GO (Windows Phone) - Still very much enjoying playing through these levels. Completed the first two worlds already.

It'll be Mario Kart 8 Deluxe; I've got to get into Waves 3 and 4 before I get too much farther behind. Other than that, Cereza and the Lost Demon demo and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope demo will get some play. I would do Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star demo but I don't feel like exercising this weekend lol.

First new game I’ve purchased since August: Radiant Silvergun. I am loving it!

I finished Metroid Prime this week and still working out what I want to play next. I don't want to get into anything big before RE4 comes out in a couple of weeks, so finishing off Kirby and the Forgotten Land and replaying the start of Dread. I love how responsive and the the controls are in Dread. I think the game still edges out over Prime for me.

Moving this weekend, so my gaming has been limited to handheld mode while I follow my cats around as the learn the new house. Gave me a chance to start Prime Remastered which has been cool. Plus coming back to New Pokemon Snap, which is quite fun and the music seems to calm the cats.

I've finally completed the last of the 120 shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (it was the Dinraal scale one).

I've also fully upgraded all of my armour after finally getting all of the parts from the three dragons, which was a lot easier than I thought it would be (and the videos on YouTube were of little help with all of the unnecessary waffling). The Traveller's Medallion makes the whole process a lot less tedious (as well as Wood and the Great Flameblade). No thanks to the devs not giving us enough inventory space to keep at least one of every kind of armour, I sold off a few non-upgradeable armour that are easily obtainable from vendors to make room for the Wild set (and I'll probably need to get rid of a few more for the remaining DLC-exclusive armour).

And I played Pokémon Scarlet for the first time in a while in an effort to catch Iron Leaves, but it completely demolished all of my party Pokémon (who were all give or take Level 75, and mostly weak against it, some 4x so!), and I think I'll leave it to a future event as I've endured one miserable failure after another. I haven't even booted up Scarlet once yet, so Walking Wake is out of the question entirely.

I've also played the latest Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC tracks (almost always as Birdo) and a bit of Picross S5.

Im playing Metroid Fusion but got stuck this Weekend, also been playing Advance Wars on the GBA.

Playing Skyward sword (switch)bought it a while
back and found the beginning pretty dull, however been at home with the flu and have really got into it! Onto the third flame at Eldin. Have to say it’s a dam good game once you get into it. Looking forward to TOTK

I am a little late to the party but I played Metroid Prime Remastered this weekend. It was great experiencing a game I owned on GameCube since I was a kid, but never got fully invested in. I am enjoying it much more this time around, and am able to appreciate its lore and gameplay now.

Oh wow. Metroid Prime is amazing, and I‘m so glad they’ve remade it for a new generation. I feel like I still prefer the 2D Metroids, but keep in mind that they’re some of my favorites so the comparison doesn’t mean much. I love a good jump, and I’ve had several so far; some weren’t even staged and were just me being unaware of my surroundings.😂 The dark areas are an absolute pain. They’re fun and all, but I tend to panic a bit. I’m thinking that Dark Samus doesn’t come until 2 or 3, but I keep feeling like she’s gonna come around a corner.😅
