or
2) “A Pretty But Sparse Open World”

I agree with the other hurrahs for this game. It’s terrific: original, challenging (mentally), and engrossing.

I finished DQ11 this past week, which was one of the best games I’ve ever played. Had to follow it up with another DQ, so I picked up 8 for 3DS. Off to a good start.

Finishing DQ11 myself this weekend, and I don’t want it to end! Easily one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played, right up there with FF6 and P4G.

It must be wonderful getting to write your own amazing role in history. No doubt Reggie was against every single bad decision and the inspiration behind every great one. He’s always been full of hot air and salesmanship; his background is in marketing and PR. I’ve never understood the Reggie worship.

Yes! Lunar stands among the very best of the genre. Great characters, wonderful story, beautiful setting, memorable music. All the way!

This game sucks!

Blech. Chrono Cross just is not a good game. It’s soulless, needlessly Byzantine, and hollow, but vague nostalgia and wanting it to be good is making people think it’s better than it was.

If I could only keep one video game OST from a Switch game, it would be Hyper Light Drifter. The composer, Disasterpeace, melded sound to image and ambience like nothing I’ve experienced since the golden days of VGM.

The author was careful to qualify that fans have never had it better “at least in terms of the sheer quantity.” Sadly, true. A loooot of Trek right now, that’s for sure. It just happens to be cringeably unwatchable.

High recommendation for Obra Dinn. It can get hard, but it’s a fascinating and enveloping game. Very original, great premise, and wonderfully unexpected turns as it unravels.

Blech. This game is bloody awful. Poor choice, Squeenix.

Just a cash grab from a corporate boob. So many people have turned on Reggie since he showed himself to be nothing but a cheap opportunist.

The N64 would have butchered those games. There are only a small handful of games on that console that look anything near decent. It was to polys what Atari was to pixels.

Ah, poor Reggie. As people increasingly saw him for the soulless corporate buffoon he is, they really turned on him hard.

This is going to stimulate the creation of at least a handful of great games, not just the one that wins.

Link’s Awakening had so much drag, though! It made the visuals shamefully disappointing.

Narita Boy might not be the most hardware-demanding in its graphics, but it has incredible art style.

When I saw early games like Snipperclips and that ugly boxing thing double down on wiggle waggle controls, my eyes rolled back into my skull. Thankfully, motion controls have finally been put on the ash heap of history where they belong. Everyone hates motion controls according to Pew and Rasmussen, and it’s good that Nintendo finally listened up before it sunk the company into the fires of hell. We’ve all paid for their sins for long enough. Now a new generation of believers with their righteous might are paving the path toward another dawn. Let us join them, sisters and brothers.

Listen to his work for Abzu. It’s beautiful from beginning to end.

Oh no! I feel so bad for this game given how many people hate its guts. Poor game.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is seriously a fun game. Very creative in the best LucasArts way.

Does anyone actually like this garbage game? I heard that some people were tricked into liking it years ago, but I think that’s an urban legend.

I fully agree, especially with your last point.

This book is complete crap. The author took an embarrassing amount of license with the subjects of the book, forgoing even the pretense of credibility. He may have done research, but he wrote the book like an episode of Herman's Head. It was always a Hollywood script, not a historical account.

Complete garbage.

Reggie the Conjurer of Falsehoods speaks yet again.

It wasn't a great game, but being an early SNES release, it rode on the excitement of the system's novelty, so I have fond memories of it nonetheless.

Total disaster.

These look amazing! Most certainly, Reggie Master of All Deceit and Ruin will work extra hard to make sure these never see the light of day in the U.S.
