Almost bought this alongside Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus, but then something told me to wait for the NL review. Thanks Mitch! Looks like I'll wait for a bigger sale than the current 10%.
Loved the game, will definitely get the dlc. Though, as someone who's never bought dlc for an RPG before, how does it work? Will it be some post-game addition you play after you beat the game (which I have)? Is it part of some point in the main game? Is it a separate mini-game without connection to your main game save file?
I have a suspicion that the opening of the game is going to appear like standard faire, but once you get through it, and Samus loses her abilities, the game is gonna be a lot more unique than the other MPs. There's some intentional deceiving going on to hide some cool new concepts I think.
@LikelySatan I've been so on the fence about buying Vernal Edge. You're probably the first person I've seen actually recommend it. I might just get it now!
I am so excited to play this again after what, twenty years?! Such a wonderful game! Such great memories! This (and the last two Zelda's) has gotten me so giddy to play! I feel like a teenager again!
Wow. I did not expect that score. Can honestly say I went from being merely intrigued by the visuals (as shown in that Indie Direct), to utterly excited to play the game!
MyNintendo had some sweepstake featuring BlackMilk prizes. All the pictures were this girl in a pink outfit. I thought she was some pop artist I'm too old to know.
I loved Hollow Knight way more than I expected. I figured it was gonna be a solid Metroidvania, but it ended up being in my top 5 favorite indie games ever. I can't wait (well, I have so far) for this sequel to come out.
Can we maybe have some difficulty options though? Pretty please with a Team Cherry on top?
I love them both, so I can't really say for sure which one was better. Breath of the Wild became my favorite game ever, which is shocking to say, since I'm old and every other favorite game is pretty much just SNES era. Then TotK came out, and became my favorite game ever. That's two games in a row that shattered my nostalgia glasses and helped me love something outside my box.
I guess all I can say is that I'm very excited for the next Zelda!
I first played the "original" when it was released on the Wii U virtual console. I liked it way more than expected. Very much looking forward to playing this version.
Mega Man 4 was the first game I ever owned myself that wasn't a shared thing. Got it in like 1993 when I was 5. So, I'll always have a soft spot for it.
That being said, Mega Man X is 💯 the best Mega Man game ever.
Thanks for the review! I already bought the game, but was curious what you guys thought about it. 7 seems to be a general consensus around the internet.
I played BotW to death, and yet, I too got such a sense of wonder playing TotK. I remember finding new and surprising stuff even after I'd sunk 80 hours into it! Love the game!
I'm not a huge fan of either racing games or battle royales, but I enjoy this game very much! "I'll just do one more race." I've told myself 1000 times.
I am super pumped for this! I remember getting the original on my 14th birthday. One of the most fun and creative RPG's ever. Day one purchase for sure!
Yep, Secret of Mana has always been one of those classic games I can play over and over again. Graphics (and color) and music are top notch. And I gotta say, the music in the snow area is one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of music I've ever heard. Stirs my heart every time I hear it.
@ChromaticDracula Same here! Well, not the patio part. I'm old and hate being rushed through games that I pay hard earned money for (especially when I had to walk 5 miles in the snow, uphill, to get to work lol).
I loved Pikmin 2, so it looks like 4 is in a similar vein. Gonna go preorder now!
They should make some kind of hybrid that bridges the Mega Man series into the Mega Man X series. It could be cool from a story and game play perspective.
I took off work when Breath of the Wild came out because of excitement.
I'm arguably more excited for Tears of the Kingdom, yet this weekend is one of the busiest for me, so I probably won't really be able to play until next week. The irony is hilarious!
Now, Smelter got a little too difficult and irritating for me by the end (and I never finished it), but I still really liked the game, and look very forward to this one.
Hopefully there will be an easy mode for us old fogey's who've lost their skills!
Dondozo is my favorite new monster in the game, so yes, I like the design. Outside of glitches, watching him do bodyslam is the funniest moment in the game for me.
I really really liked the original. I also remember it being terribly difficult. I wonder if that was just me being an inexperienced 12-year-old gamer or if it was actually hard. Are there difficulty options lol?
Just talking the game itself, how good is it? Even as an old school RPG guy, I've never played any of the Tales series. For me, there's not much I'm interested in on the Switch the next few months other than the new Zelda, so I'd like a good game to hold me over til May.

Re: CrossCode Devs Announce A Brand New Action RPG, And It Looks Stunning
@somnambulance 100٪ agree. I had so much fun playing about to the point those reflex-type puzzles started getting more and more frequent/complicated.
Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?
Seems like the new console will be backwards compatible. Folks probably won't have to worry about that backlog!

Re: Talking Point: HD-2D Or 3D - How Should Square Enix Remake Chrono Trigger?
Chrono Trigger is such a great example of excellence in sprite-work, I think definitely needs to be HD-2D.
Although I'm open to 3D if they did it like it's sequel, and not some typical chibi thing.
