In seriousness, I’ve already bought an OLED and don’t want this one as a collectible. The controller looks nice though and I might grab it at some point.

The new OLED? Nope, I'm quite happy with the one I have. Dropping over 500 dollary doos for another one with a pretty shell is absurd. The controller on the other hand... Maybe. Probably not, but the chances are above zero.

Nah. I don't have any desire for a Switch OLED. My original Switch is doing just fine aside from the blasted joycon drift.

I already own a Pro controller. Have almost never used it because I play handheld effectively all of the time nowadays. So I don't need that either.

Sorry, that's a no around the board. I will probably hold onto my basic model switch even through the future generations. No point in blowing precious money on a console I already own (yes, it's an OLED, but it's not that different to be a dealbreaker) No matter how many scratches or how broken my switch gets, I'll probably keep it for as long as I am able.

This is the first time in my life that I can actually afford these, so I’m going all-in with the Switch OLED, Collector’s Edition, Pro Controller, Case and Amiibo.

Will try to get just the joy cons. I like them

I would love to the the OLED considering I am still using my launch year Nintendo Switch. I just don't have the money to spare right now, and even if I did, I still don't think I would buy one. It is too late in the Nintendo Switch's life cycle for me to consider investing in a newer model unless my current one dies.

I have a Switch Lite and can't see myself buying a Switch Switch ever. Only reason might be ao my son can play on the TV when he's older, but he's a toddler now and maybe the game's will work on the inevitable successor.

I want to vote Day One or "I've already pre-ordered it!", But unfortunately, the arrival of this console and the pro controller will be way later in my country than when they release. I will buy it, that's for sure. I think I'll have enough time to save for the console once it arrives to my country.

There should be an option for “tried like hell, but couldn’t get my hands on one.” This would describe me and the pro controller. Although, I did manage to preorder the system… but I wanted the controller more.

Definitely not getting the OLED. We're definitely getting a new console within the next couple of years, so I will wait until then. I might consider the Pro Controller though, as that thing is lovely.

Well golly. I feel like I’ve already given way to much money to the Big N in the last year. Eshop closures and such. Not really in the mood to drop that much more after my FOMO buying on the 3DS and Wii U shops.
…Actually the only special edition console I own is the Year of Luigi 3DS XL…and that came with a game.

I like the carrying case best but see no reason to replace my plain red Switch one.

I've already preordered the OLED Switch. It frankly can't come soon enough. I think the fan in my original model is about to die; it's making a LOT of noise, regardless of which mode I play it in. And here I'm trying to play through the current Splatfest, so I'm scared of my Switch overheating.

I'm just glad the preorders were in-store only. Had they been online, they would have sold out in minutes, and I would have missed out. Sadly, the Pro Controller was online-only (which is weird, considering the Switch itself wasn't), and it has already sold out. My best bet to find a non-scalped one is to wait and see if GameStop or Best Buy will have an extra available to buy.

I'm at the point where the Switch needs a real performance improvement to get me to buy another one.

Edit: Also worth noting is that I only have one Switch, the launch model, so this is a good excuse to get an OLED model (even if we likely will see the next gen Nintendo console next year.) So, I do get a bit of an upgrade by getting it. Its very likely I'll never use those joycons, they look too precious to use and have them get drifty, might put them on display on a shelf 😅

@Hoshiko highly unlikely Nintendo will sell just the joycons but you could buy them off the second hand market.

I want this Switch. I want it so bad, but I'm saving up now for the Switch 2, and it's too late in the console generation for me to justify this purchase.

No more Nintendo hardware purchases for me until Switch 2.0/Pro and even then only if it’s fully backward compatible.

@ryu_san ordered the zelda oled for that long term hold as well. I like buying a later version of these newer consoles to upgrade from the day one version (like the switch I currently am using) to hopefully extend the life of my switch library.

Yep. I ignored all OLED releases on the hope there would be a Zelda one. Glad I waited. Pre order is paid off and waiting. I’ll use my DQ switch as my travel system. Love that I will have so many official Zelda joycon.

Although my V1 Neon Switch still holds strong, I have been wanting an oled for awhile now. Though I might have to skip over this edition as I am holding out hope that they would release a mario edition oled hehe.

As for the pro controller, I just got the Splatoon 3 edition back in September, so I don't really need another.

I saw it up for pre-order and had my chance. Passed as I already have the lite, regular and Oled switch versions. Just don't see the need for another especially because I honestly don't think it looks that good.

I have been hoping for this LE ever since the OLED was announced. I bought my OG Switch just before the Animal Crossing LE version restock and that still annoys me. When they announced the Splatoon Switch I dared hope that they would do one for TOTK.

The Dock is nice. The Joy-Cons are ugly. Nothing there to convince me I need a 2nd Switch. However, if I didn't own one and was picking up a Switch to play the new Zelda, you bet, I'd pick it up if it were in stock because it is prettier than plain black

I pre ordered the console. Im on the fence about it. Its a lot of money to drop right now, but my switch is also having a hard time. It crashes whatever game Im playing like once every hour. So I may actually need a new one.

I actually ordered two, just to be sure I'll get one. Totally overdoing it, because they're still available, but I've been waiting for this one. I wanted one special edition Switch and it had to be an oled one. And even though I'm not completely sold on the game, I really like the design.

Let's see if I have the mental strength to send one of the two back, or use one for playing and one for display... How different from the good old days, where I had to beg my mom to buy me a Gameboy Advance.

I mean I love how this looks, but I already own 2 Switches and 2 Pro Controllers, and I recently picked up the N64 controller (Which I love). So I really don't have any use for these items and if I got them it would just be for the purpose of collection.

No, just got the white OLED model. Even had the chance to get the Splatoon 3 edition for the same price but I like to add my own designs.
And as controllers I use the 8BitDo SN30 Pro & Pro 2. For me the best ones on the market.
Maybe I get the Ultimate for birthday from my girlfriend.
For collectors this edition is a must-have I guess; I am happy with what I got already.

No and No. I already got the Monster Hunter Rise Special Edition Switch. No, it isn't OLED but it has the new chip in it and it has better battery life than both the OLED and Lite models, which at the end of the day, for a portable system, more battery life trumps a better screen. Also, while I like Legend of Zelda, I like Monster Hunter more. Furthermore, I'm not interested in getting a new Switch at this point considering the next system is probably right around the corner.

As for the Pro Controller, it looks nice, but again, I have the Monster Hunter Rise Pro controller(s) and the Xenoblade Pro controller. That's more Pro controllers than I need already. At this point, I'd rather just save the money for games I want rather than buying this just to collect more stuff I'm not going to use.

The only other Switch accessory I'll get at this point is the NYXI Wizard Wireless Joy-pad that looks like a GC controller and even that is a giant maybe considering how many games are coming out this year that I want.

The OLED looks awesome but I imagine the switch 2 (or whatever the next console is) is a year or two away so I reckon I'll just wait for that.
The pro controller on the other hand I'd really like, but much like the Collectors edition for the game it appears I just couldn't get it in time, it's out of stock everywhere. Not having much luck getting the TOTK stuff, at least I got a special edition of the game on Amazon with a cool looking poster and the Link Amiibo also so suppose I can't complain too much

I’m also in the boat of having resisted the Splatoon version in case a Zelda one was coming, and I’m glad I did. Also preordered the case, and I’d already got preorders for the game and amiibo at The Game Collection. My old Switch is 4 years old and I probably won’t get the Switch successor day 1 so this feels fine to me. That OLED tablet will stay in the box for a couple of weeks till I get the screen protector on it though! Hopefully will use my shiny Tears of the Kingdom joycons to play some Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on my old Switch during the 2-week wait 🥰

Do we really need a Switch 2?
The only one thing that makes think maybe is third party games that could be added to Switch library and run really well.
Apart from that we are getting plenty of first party games of which no other console has and of course we are mobile as well.

OG red/blue Switch owner here… won’t be spending money on a new Switch until there’s…. A new, as in NEW NEW, Switch. OLED is cool and all but I can’t justify spending the money when all I ever do is play docked anyway.

Nice for the fans. But I don’t like special editions. I already have the Switch OLED with the white Joy-cons and I think that one is more beautiful.
Thus far I find the different Pro Controller designs boring, I like to see more colors like Xbox and Playstation have.

I was heavily considering this but then I found out it doesn’t actually come with the game… come on..

I like the OLED design but there is no way I'm changing my Switch again at this point.

As for the pro-controller, the white arm just looks like someone forgot to finish it and given that the d-pad is still a turd, I'd prefer another 8bit-do ultimate controller which is absolutely great.

@Dezzy70 personally I think we really do. New releases across the board are hampered by the hardware even first party games have severe jaggies and have to be optimised to within an inch of its life - Kirby and the forgotten land dropping background elements to a slide show is an obvious example.

Hitting a PS4 level of power would allow much easier conversion of games and open up a whole new library.

But this is Nintendo so we'll probably get something different all together.

@Dezzy70 As the years go by its becoming apparently we do , im a multi console owner having both cross generations of nintendo , PS and xbox's and of late the 3rd parties have had flagship titles geared towards the next gen skipping switch more so often and if it becomes a port they will try to cloud it giving players a even worst experience - the issue is glaringly obvious I have also owned games that been on PS4 ported over to switch and the mobility while great does affect the performance when hardware isn't good enough for it. Very few games optimize well for switch ports and when they do they make no profit over the effort they spent to optimise for switch, its giving game developers a expensive lesson to steer towards other platforms now as much as i hate to see it. First party nintendo titles are great but they haven't hit some of the big marks of 3rd parties lately. As much as a nintendo fanboy i may have been there's a line of being delusional in the defence of nintendo that's starting to waver. The nintendo i loved back in the N64 era and ocarina of time seem to have been bygones and i haven't really seen anything amazing nintendo has done since then. I feel as if the ones in charge are too old fashioned and remain out of touch of new trends and needs they have little care of listening to customers or even have a channel for feedback to take in. regardless i still hope TOTK is a success, I'm looking forward to pikmin 4 which i still think its one of their more original IPs. But a new gen switch with better hardware at least to todays standard of 1080p / 60fps can take things further and retain more 3rd party developers quality titles. A improvement to online switch service is a must too - like actually let us play online with others with invite to game / chat messages to asking for partying etc. Some of their switch decisions have been abit of a step backwards for me unfortunately.

I love the TOTK design (I'll have to stop reading it as "Zelda Tiktok", by the way), but I'm not as huge a fan as I am a Metroid fan, so I'm not buying one. I have 3 Switch models (including one Oled) and a Pro Controller (in addition to an 8bitdo one), so it will all be more than enough for some years.

Besides, I doubt this Zelda Switch will be available in my country for less than $550 or 600. Only if stocks are high and people don't buy them all fast. Otherwise, it's gonna cost and arm and a leg

I think I might be. I'm rather attached to this glorious Switch generation, which will go down in history as one of the very best to be a part of, so it seems fitting to pickup the Zelda special edition, even if the design isn't quite what I'd choose. Would have been nice if it referenced Breath of the Wild as well.

I’ve had my original Switch since launch and this model finally made me take the plunge and jump to an OLED. I feel kind of silly, though, since I nearly never play handheld (unless I’m on a plane), so the added benefits of a sharper screen, improved battery and a decent kickstand are entirely lost on me. And this will be my sixth set of JoyCons. Oof.

I would adore it as I still have my launch day original switch. However, it's currently going strong and I need to reserve the money for actual upcoming Switch software. I hope the Switch 2 is OLED. I am pretty much 95% handheld as well!

It looks awesome but it’s more of a hassle to get the very minor upgrade as I barely use handheld mode. Would be nice to get some new and properly functioning joy-cons as well but shouldn’t have to in the first place.

Pre-ordered straight away, but with each passing day I’m getting closer to the cancel button. The OLED screen will be great for travelling - but I’m not travelling at the moment. I might save a purchase of an OLED for the next time I’m going to be spending a decent chunk away from home. But then I also think that some time away from video gaming isn’t a bad thing and I can pursue other things like reading.

THEN the other voice in my head says ‘you’ve got about £200 worth of Microsoft Reward Points saved up, why not trade them in for credit somewhere and buy a cheaper, non-logo’d OLED Switch?’

Still have a launch day Switch with a bad battery and play handheld all the time with bigger joy cons, I have collected all things Zelda in the past, and moving off grid entirely soon, so it is a good time to upgrade I guess. I won't use its joy cons or dock ever, so they'll remain new, but the system will be used, or else I couldn't justify the purchase.

@Sam_TSM I use my Majora's N3DSXL still, and this Switch will finally make me upgrade from my launch day Switch that needs to be on the charger all the time, as traveling / moving off grid with it is just impossible. I recognise those voices though, "just get a used OLED "screen" without all the extra's, vs buy the nice Zelda one and only use the "screen"...

Any Pro Controller is good though, but I don't need it. If I ever play mostly in dock mode I can consider it again then but I think for me I'm fine.

It does look good for some Switch games though, if you play in dock mode and stuff.

I kind of like the design of these but a Zelda designed Switch isn't really for me. For me, I'd rather have the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet one over it, if I'd had gotten one.

But I'm sure it's for some people, as well as some Zelda fans, as the design is nice.

I already PreOrdered TOTK Switch and Pro controller. They will become the scarcest console and pro controller ever once they release. Sure TOTK v2 OLED is the end of the 2nGen Switch but this is for Zelda fan that can appreciate this console-even if a more power Switch neXtGen does come out. Remember this isn't like the Pokemon/Splatoon3 OLED that can still be found but once those inventory and parts are gone they will be done. As anyone remembers there was News Nintendo was stocking up on inventory past so this means they were ramping production to be slowly phased out when the neXtGen system does come out.

Marvelous! I got caviar on the conservatory Switch the other day rendering the screen smudged and therefore unusable. I have had to use the drawing room Switch in its stead. The gold leaf of the drawing room Switch does not match the marble statuary of the conservatory. It is absolutely barbaric. I gave the tarnished conservatory Switch to the skullery maid's son. It shan't go to waste. Hrmm, quite.

If the next one is backwards compatible with cartridges then I don’t need it but if it’s not then I would like to have it to keep that library going. Only got a launch Switch at the moment.

This would be the 3rd switch I own if I choose to buy it. First OLED for me. I rarely play handheld so the wife would enjoy this most if we move forward with a purchase.

why do a Switch OLED, when my extended battery Switch is working just fine? speding R$3.000($592) just for a Nintendo Switch with a pretty display, is a pure waste of time/money, i would rather save my money for Nintendo next hardware, that is rumored to release this holiday or spring 2024.

I'm hoping Nintendo goes iterative with the Switch, like their handheld history (GB->GBC->GBA or DS->DSi->3DS->New 3DS) instead of a complete format change like they usually do with consoles. In which case, I'll wait to buy a new Nintendo console until the next gen Switch.

I have a pre-order in for the Zelda Pro Controller, but I will likely cancel as I think £65 is too much to spend when you can get the original for £50. I've recently bought a £40 N64 controller too, which has swayed me and that does offer something very different and is so tied to how N64 games can be played.

If Nintendo had included some other incentive like a redeemable code for any other Zelda game available on Switch then that would have shown some generosity for what is likely to be the last special edition before Nintendo announce new hardware, but it's a business ultimately and this feels a bit like a cash-in. Why give away something for free when the Switch continues to sell like hot cakes - it's not like the Wii U or 3DS where they had promotional offers to help sell the system.

Decided to pull the trigger and pre-ordered. I still have my day one Switch so decided to upgrade. Should be able to get a bit of money for it in the second-hand market so that'll go towards the cost. I've also pre-ordered the collectors edition of the game. Expensive month ahead.

I like the esthetics, but my (day 1) Switch is parked behind my TV and it still works. My pro controller also works fine.

Even if my current Switch should give up the ghost, I'll wait for the next console to come out. Hoping that it's backwards compatible...

I already have the white OLED, and on display I have the Splatoon 3 OLED, and the Monster Hunter Rise v2 and Dragon Quest XI S v2. I couldn't resist a Zelda OLED for display.

@MrHaggi Love how people are giving misleading information but fails to see it's nothing like before. Guess their will always be Nintendo haters' no matter what games come from Nintendo. And if others just want the Dock then buy it's pieces from eBay Scalpers when they sell them. Complaing is just nonsense here and sounds more like someone that missed the preorder is what it sounds like. Whether or not one buys this or not that's their choice but this console is mostly likely made for Zelda fans and Zelda collectors and most sought after console to come to have. As to the Switch2 we will see what designs that will have-hopefully it be more unique color schemes layout. But it could be RB or White design again. If they make a Zelda theme console first release this would sit nicely with the TOTK console.

I don't personally care much. But I'm gonna get the special Switch, the controller, the case, and the special edition of the game for my partner. She adores Zelda

While calling it DLC is misinformation i feel like whenever people accuse others who are critical of something as "Nintendo haters" that could also be considered misleading.

its like when people were accusing the Pokémon previews which mentioned the performance issues as having some kind of vendetta against Nintendo or something to that effect.

as it is now it still feels like theres a lot more to see in tears of the kingdom and going by what happened with botw they ended up keeping a good amount of it hidden so there was a lot to discover.

still curious about whether or not there will be more expansive "dungeons" this time around.

In terms of the OLED switch i feel like im not really interested in getting a new switch model unless it ends up being a more powerful model like a theoretical "switch 2", the OLED does seem like it makes the games look very nice but the performance is still the same so the gameplay itself wont be affected.

Saddens when a minority thinks they are the majority for why someone preoders TOTK console fails to see the significant of the bigger picture is already lost here. Calling a full game DLC clearly demostrate their dislike of Nintendo. Remember Nintendo isn't your friend they are on the business of making money all the while making a product the majority like and wants. And the Zelda franchise will never die out. Yeah and those saying no to TOTK console means they missed the preorders-while else make such comments. If one says spend money Xbox/pc - yank the power cord and see how portable that is in middle of a game.

The Pro Controller is horrible with one white arm. I answered Not Interested and would answer I Don't Like The Look as well if I could. These polls always contain too many questions. Nintendo should have made both arms gold, and then that would increase interest if I ever wanted another controller. As it stands, it's hideous, and I have zero interest.

I answered No to the Switch OLED, although, I would have answered Not Interested if the option was available as per the Pro Controller! The option "I'm not interested at this stage in the Switch's lifecycle" wasn't relevant because I would get a Metroid one regardless of the Switch's life cycle. With the Zelda one, I'm not interested, period.

I actually needed and wanted to upgrade to an OLED, so yeah I've got the console itself on pre-order, as well as the carrying case. I've been trying to get my hands on the Pro controller as I also don't own one yet, but it's just sold out everywhere I've looked, and when I get restock alerts it's sold out within 10 minutes.
