It's really cool that these games will be made available on modern platforms, hoping they will have quality of life features that help make them less difficult. Other than the difficulty, they're incredible! Or maybe I just sucked at them.... But it was both shocking and refreshing to experience such "different" gameplay back in the day. Time do get back to them, as long as the original material is duly respected. Let's wait for more info
I'm gonna download it for the S1. The developer's reputation alone helps reduce the "tension" the name Bubsy is responsible for causing.... I hope performance is good
Loved the interview. I wish Playtonic the best of success, as I love their games. The Impossible Lair is a favorite of mine and now I'll start playing Replaylee
I don't remember the Snes Spider Man (MC and SA) being so poor. I hope it's not my nostalgia speaking. And I'd really like to play the X-Men game, but I'll wait for a sale
This game has been highly praised since it first launched, and I'm really happy it's gonna be available on Switch. Brazilian studios have been delivering high quality games consistently, and I'm particularly proud of them, given technology isn't as affordable here as it is in developed countries. Keep up the great work!
Capcom could’ve easily just dropped some ROMs on a basic menu screen and called it a day, but the developers went the extra mile to make all three games feel like part of one organised and cohesive experience.
Capcom and Konami have been doing a great job with their collections for the past few years. That's respect for both their franchises and fans!
As a single player, I'm perfectly happy with a new run of my 2023 S1 Wonder copy. Absolutely no need to pay extra to get something I won't play.
I never had a WiiU, so every rerelease on the Switch felt like a new game to me and it was awesome, but having bought almost every Nintendo game on the Switch, the S2 releases still feel mostly unattractive to me. At least so far...
A wonderful game! It's a shame it won't be available for future buyers from now on (maybe for a limited time only). Curiously I've been replaying it recently. It's super fun and the DLC is totally worth it
I haven't heard anything about Nintendo suing the US government (or the Trump administration) for using the Wii interface in war propaganda. Have they?
English might not have all the "I" variations Japanese does - neither do Portuguese or Spanish, for example. However, Japanese nouns, in general, don't have plural forms, Japanese verbs don't have specific future conjugations/structures (English has a few, Portuguese and Spanish have a bunch). These are just some examples of features a given language might or might not have. Saying a language is 'simple' or 'simplistic' just because it doesn't have the specific elements I'd like it to have sounds really arrogant and narrow-minded, in my opinion.
Localization work (which is different from a mere translation) should focus on conveying ideas, expressions and nuances through the 'weapons' a language offers. A translator will perfectly shift the arrogance or authority contained in 'ore-sama', for example, to other elements in the same phrase/clause/sentence so that the idea is expressed just the same.
As a native speaker of Portuguese who has had contact with different languages for decades, I guess statements like "this language is simple, this one is rich, that one is poor" just reflect the speaker's ignorance. Localization in games just gets better over time and it's wonderful to have so many great works of art available in a ton of languages so more people can enjoy them. Of course, there are bad localizations, too, but I guess now they're not as frequent as in the past
Wario Land aside, I guess it must have been really hard for the writer to write these reviews.... The sentence "isn't something you'll be going back to time and again, but that counts for the entire VB library" seems to basically sum it up, unfortunately
I dare say there's never been a better time in history to be a gamer, whether retro or modern. Virtually everything you might want to play is available as standalone releases or collections. And what isn't available officially can be emulated, except for a few games
My whole experience with Pokémon has been like this: start playing the game --> enjoy it --> focus on capturing and expanding the pokedex --> beat the game --> forget 95% of Pokemon's names. Although I've played a bunch of games, I'm not even gonna try taking this quiz. That'd be humiliating
I've had four different machines/models, but my favorite one is my old 3DS XL (blue). I admit the image looks much better on the smaller screen of an old regular-size 3DS, but i hate hearing it creaking. It feels so fragile that I avoid using my old Aqua Blue 3DS
I've decided to comment less recently, and my next step will probably be read comments less and less. I learned a lot in this comment section from people making constructive comments (which includes criticism, for crying out loud!), but now the us x them here seems to be swallowing every possible discussion. It's a pain! For some people, if Nintendo does something, it's all good and acceptable. Can't stand it
I'm waiting for a patch before I buy this game, and i don't mean the soundtrack. I'm talking about bad bugs. I hope they fix them because both the character and us fans deserve that!
They're giving us the "opportunity" to pay $100 for the device, but if we wanna use it properly (that is, play games), we have to subscribe to a service. That's a no for a me
Been having a lot of fun with this collection on my Oled. For a single player like me, there's tons and tons of content and many extras as a result of the usual care Konami has been pouring in their recent collections.
I was really surprised (in the best possible way) with this game being launched. My GOTY so far
@EarthboundBenjy Maaaaannnnn!!!! What kind of devilish response is that??? Maybe they've assessed their image and concluded that gamers' opinions on Ubisoft aren't as bad as it could be, so they've decided to start doing worse!!!! I can't believe that!!!!
@HalfAWorldAway an you know, they could have all kinds of problems and still get back to their feet with gamers' support, but as you said, they lost the community's support. All their other problems can't be compared to this one, which is the critical point
well, maybe something they that was in the batch of projects they canceled recently could have yielded something good, too, but you know.... Ubisoft was just like Ubisoft.... Now they're acting all strange praising a game's sales performance... That's quite off of them
@ozwally Same here. Battle League was a landmark for me, but in a very bad way. From that point on, Nintendo sports games for me will be a no if they follow that trend, which they're confirming now with Fever
Unfortunately experiences like Battle League and this new Mario Tennis were far from being the norm years ago, but now they seem to be the direction the industry is heading toward, which is a real shame in my opinion. This leads me to buy fewer to none Nintendo sports games. S2 MT's pricepoint makes zero sense to me
@Don To play the NSO apps, you need to have your subscription checked from time to time so I guess you'll have to go online and update the app at some point
@GameOtaku I guess the only justification they can offer is "we want people to move from the OG Switch to the Switch 2. If you want to play these games, buy a S2." And I hate it!
Whoa, that's a bunch of 32-bit games. Although Ì'm not familiar with these titles, it's good to know there'll be some variety beyond NES and (probably) SNES and Genesis games
@no_donatello I guess the challenges in developing games for the console may prevent us from getting more ports of Saturn games? There are a lot of fan favorites that haven't been released anywhere....
@HammerGalladeBro ah, man.... So a Goemon collection was announced in Japan? I'd love to have an official release on this side of the world of the other SNES games and maybe the great GBC games too, all of them localized for sure. I've played the fan-translated versions, but an official collection with some extras would be awesome!!! Given the silence about it in our direct, it just won't happen here, unfortunately

@gcunit So that's approximately a square foot of Yoshi??? That's something!
