The game running at 30 isn't the end of the world, as it can be improved. The point here is why those dev kits weren't available before. How can you expect to have a solid lineup for your console when you don't allow your partners to have the proper tools to deliver good/finished games?
It'll sure impact game sales, regardless of it being fixed/improved later. I just can't understand it
@JohnnyMind No, man. My comment is 100% related to the first part of your comment. The point is you just don't wanna discuss graphics. And that's fine for me
@JohnnyMind Because this is one of most profitable franchises ever. They have tons of money to invest and make the game both run and look great. It just doesn't make any sense to "expect" Pokémon games to look like previous generation mid-tier games and think it's OK because that's what they're like. Pokemon is so huge that nothing involved in it should be cheap, whatever meaning of cheap we consider
Well, if and when I get a Switch 2, I'll buy this game (as long as it runs smoothly and doesn't look half baked). I just can't consider getting in on the S1
I have awesome memories of Super Ghouls and Ghosts (and of Ghouls and Ghosts, to a lesser extent), but not of Ghosts and Goblins. The feeling of being tortured and punished still resonated when I tried it again some time ago on Capcom Arcade Stadium LOL But I'm really into Ressurection. It's hard but on a different level. Hard but possible
Whoa, that screams premium all over the place, from its awesome look to the steep price. I hope those who get one enjoy it as much as possible, but that's not for me, unfortunately
The first Lumo made me think a lot and was a nice challenge. If the second entry keeps the same level as the first one, it'll surely be another fun puzzler
@MCHuddle Just can't t understand why they thought that red Nintendo Switch 2 banner covering a huge portion of the cover area would be a good idea. It's just so ugly!
It's been really hard, but it's been really fun all the same. It's such a captivating game. It's captivated me so much that I stopped complaining about having to pay to make a save station available and other "perks"... Beautifully dark, wonderful music, perfect controls. Hard to say anything negative so far
@Misima I'm sick and tired of these guys telling us to shut up and complaining because we're complaining about Nintendo's bad decisions. It seems they want to have a discussion forum that feels like a bed of roses, where literally everything is seen through a positive lens. As far as I'm concerned, they just won't have it. Nintendo's recent decisions just can't be justified
@PessitheMystic @JohnnyMind Yeah, yeah, let's wait for the day when Nintendo decides to discount them: they'll cost $30 each, which is absolutely no bargain at all
And I just hope I don't see comments arguing that Luigis Mansion 2 and DKC returns cost $60 each
God, I just can't express how I feel about having SMG2 for new hardware to be beautifully displayed on modern screens. Also, I just can express how I feel about the ridiculous pricing Nintendo chose to apply to these games. Either bundled or individually, that's just absurd. I bought the 3D All stars collection and I admit I felt relief when I saw the fine print saying the games will be available separately as digital downloads but my happiness began to dwindle when i learned EACH game will cost 40 dollars. Metroid Prime Remastered, which was wonderfully remastered and became much more beautiful than the original release cost 40, too. This one seems to be the same as the Wii versions, just adapted to new hardware. Even 70 for the bundle seems incredibly absurd, unfortunately
well, whether the frame rate is 30 or 60, it must be stable. What annoys me (and sometimes turns me off in this type of game) is seeing constant drops during gameplay. Since the game requires a lot of precision, it just needs to provide you with the conditions to be precise, after all
It used to be much better when Nintendo dedicated to good games, new IPs and innovative design and ideas. Now they specialize in sparking hate and making questionable decisions, which they excel at
@Oldstalk I'd like to add that we keep replaying that 1 minute each death and redoing something we've done before countless times. After all, if we got to the boss, we successfully went through that section
And an additional problem is if you accidentally die during one of those trips to the boss, you'll lose all your money, which is a pain
I know these are all game design choices and I'm fine with them but redoing the same part over and over could be avoided. Some say "if don't wanna do it all again, don't die" LOL Maybe when I've achieved 80% of the game, I'll be comfortable enough to travel through any section of the map without any major problems
Such bad timing for this kind of list. Everything involving S2 exclusives so far will cause some backlash, which is perfectly logical. Something like "Best indie games on S2" or "Best third-party games on S2" could have shifted the focus to games that have actually been released rather than the lack of new exclusives
Hollow Knight Silksong: playing very slowly, in really short bursts, between work shifts to unwind, but there's hardly been any free time for playing video games. Maybe in a month things will be calmer
@The_Nintendo_Pedant Totally agree. The fragmented outcome won't help us paint a fair picture of the scenario. But considering most people are navigating between 4 and 8, with similar percentages, it's safe to say no one is completely happy with what has been released so far
One of my fears was that third-party support would be kind of what it has been on the Switch 1: games that run worse on Switch and are more expensive than on other platforms. About this, I still cannot be assertive, but about the first-party lineup, I expected more, and it just doesn't justify a purchase in my opinion. But I admit I'm waiting for some great titles to come out
@dequesi I agree with that, but I guess Team Cherry decided to take the risk when they released the first HK. And it worked out really well for them. Now they're just comfortable to make this type of decision because of the huge success of HK. Other devs may have tried that, too, but with different results
I have very little free time to play these days, but I decided to buy Silksong day one just to support these devs because of the huge number of hours and ton of fun I had (and keep having) with Hollow Knight and for their pricing decision for Silksong. I'm just another Joe here, and my decision just won't make any difference in the big picture, but this is how I show my support these days, since the industry has led me to avoid pre orders and day one purchases, so Team Cherry is an exception for me
That's wonderful! Hope they can improve the frame rate, too. And I hope the Ninja Gaiden devs do the same. It's much worse in NG. My favorite ninja franchises deserve pristine releases!
@CoreXY Yeah, sure Nintendo is watching from afar and crying desperately for seeing other devs charging $20 for a game they would easily charge $60 or $70 for.
Hey, devs! Do you have a minute to listen to The Word??? "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." LOL Give your customers what they want and they'll gladly open their wallets. Give them game key cards and they'll let your stock rot on the shelf.
I have already downloaded it and this is the next game I'm gonna start playing. I'm curious to see if the absence of a map will cause any trouble or if game design actually made it unnecessary. Hoping for the best
A wonderful game for sure. My favorite on the DS is Portrait of Ruin, but considering all three are pretty distinct and excellent in their own way, there's just no going wrong with any of them
What makes me sad is that it seems that it was just yesterday, lord...
It's safe to say HK is one of my favorite games within my favorite genre. It still gives me some bad pandemic vibes but at the same time it helped me carry on through tough times. If Silksong is just about the same as HK, that is, another adventure in the same world, I'll be very happy! Really looking forward to the 4th!
PS: it's great to know it runs smoothly, unlike NG Ragebound, which has disappointed me
First time I played an arcade game was on my 1989 vacation. Since then, there's always been a lever/stick in arcade controllers. It's been so long I don't feel able to reorganize my brain to starting using directional buttons, and I'm just awful at playing on a computer keyboard, which pretty much makes it clear for me: as much as I'm a sucker for 8bitdo controllers, this one is a pass
The RE series has been a gold mine for Capcom, so I really hope they honor the franchise and deliver some great stuff to celebrate the 30th anniversary
The game every Sonic fan wanted to play. It could have been awesome! But lately I've been feeling companies try hard not to give us the games we want to play
As I've been snowed under a ton of work for the past weeks, which tends to continue until September, there's been little time for gaming, unfortunately. What I've been trying to do is using gaming time in short bursts to unwind from work. That means a couple of moons in Super Mario Odyssey each day or a small section of a platformer such as a stage of Tasukete Tako San or advancing a little bit through the incredible The Messenger DLC
As mentioned in the article, it could be more comprehensive but it doesn't mean it should be overlooked. I am personally very interested in it (as in everything retro M2 works on). I'll be picking it up in 2 or 3 months
If you just compare what you could buy at a supermarket in the Wii era vs what you can buy now for the same amount of money, you'll see that the share price out of context doesn't really reflect an actual twofold increase
I'm under the impression our money is worth s**t these days, it doesn't matter where around the world you live
I have a considerable number of 8bitDo controllers and they've never disappointed me. The SN30 Pro is noisy, but that's far from being a deal breaker. All controllers in the Pro line feel incredible. I'm looking forward to getting the Pro 3 as soon as possible
So far, the soundtracks I've listened to more frequently on Nintendo Music are two NES albums: Metroid and Super Mario Bros 3. I dont know if these new additions can be called "albums" because the number of tracks in each is so small, but there are a bunch of tunes in today's release that can make a great playlist!
It's good to see this still exists. I'm under the impression that internal artwork has been largely abandoned by most publishers after getting so many white, blank, soulless, arid ones in my S1 cases. It's depressing to open the box to get the cart and see nothing, just that blank sheet. Feels like a mix of cheapness and despise
