When franchises are around for a long time, like Zelda, it's commonplace to have changes here and there, to test new systems, to try new mechanics. Some of these become fixtures, others are simply forgotten and never used anymore. This is a different Zelda game. The introduction of the echoes made it a very different game in the series
Whether you like it or not, it's up to you. Every kind of answer is fair here. The only thing that's unfair from my point of view is to say that it's a bad game, which it isn't. There's a lot of love poured into it and it's easy to see it. They took really good care of every aspect of the game and it shows. Maybe it's not for you, but it's really well done. It's not my favorite Zelda of all time, but I had a lot of fun playing it and I'll sure be playing it again in the future. It's a 9/10 for me. Take it for what it is, not for what you'd like it to be if you could call the shots
Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the future of the Pokemon franchise would be much better off if it followed on Arceus' footsteps, not SV's
Besides, Odyssey could be considered the best 3D Mario so far, so it could be the way to go
Yeah, my list would be 70% different, so your list achieved its goal: people sharing their views and maybe their lists. There is no right or wrong here
I finished Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D last weekend, and now I'm playing:
Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance (Switch) - this is the Castlevania game in which I get lost more often. Changing from Castle A to B (which are basically the same in terms of general design) constantly through portals adds a layer of difficulty but also adds a layer of fun to the exploration
Picross S Genesis And Master System Edition (Switch) - finishing the Clip Picross puzzles (there are 50 in each puzzle! Picross S games have a ton of content!)
Super Princess Peach (DS) - playing again one of my favorite platformers ever!
The early to mid 2010s feel like a blank space in my mind due to some health issues. It's like this game, for example, never existed for me. And I guess it was quite popular at the time...
It's a shame. One my favorite games on Wii. I'd really love to see a remaster with button controls added. Never was a big fan on the NES because the difficulty was too much for me, but the Snes game was great and recently I've bought the Hamster arcade version, which is impressive for the time it was released. I'm glad it's available. Hope one day the Wii version is, too
Happy new year, everyone. I wish you all (staff and community) a great year with good health, a lot of great opportunities in life and fun gaming moments!
With Switch entering its ninth year come the start of March
It's shocking it's already year 9 in Switch's lifespan! It's been a great ride so far. I'm really glad I've been able to enjoy the system since 2017
I'm glad to know that. The dev made it all nearly alone (I'm not sure if he wrote the music) and kept delivering updates and additions long after the game was released. It's hard to know how many hours I spent playing it. It's nit only my favorite farm simulator but also one of my favorite games in the past 5 years
@AmplifyMJ I hadn't noticed that Switch Lite alone outsold all competitors' products. That's just awesome and a clear indicator that helps us understand why a market analyst said two or three weeks ago that one of Nintendo's competitors will have serious difficulties next generation. Let's wait and see
Unfortunately, physical media is not so widely available as it could/should be. Sometimes, when I wanna play a game on launch day, I have to resort to digital media. Otherwise, it would mean waiting for God knows how long when it comes to games that aren't Marios, Zeldas or Sonics. Physical media is the only way to fight the practice mentioned in the article
Very beautiful! It looks awesome, so for those who "invest" in this type of figure, it's an easy pick. I have some action figures, but I don't spend much on them (I've been more inclined to spending on Funko Pop or the like lately)
If he's happy doing his work with the DQ series, all I can say is I'm more than happy for being able to enjoy his superb work. The franchise is alive and kicking both with retro and new releases, so there's never been a better time to be a DQ fan
Yeah, that's Sega. Dumb business decisions all around. A good practice in marketing is that when an announcement won't bring you any good whatsoever, just don't make it. Keep quiet. But it doesn't seem we should expect any good sense from them. At least that's what they've been showing for the past decades. And if that's a hint at their subscription service, then good luck
I finished Castlevania Circle of the Moon. Now I'm starting Harmony of Dissonance, which I call Pandemonium Advance as a tribute to the colorful old PS1 game. There are so many colors in specific points of the castle that my eyes feel the blow, but it's a great game!
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (working slowly towards 100%)
Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance from the Castlevania Advance Collection
Picross S Namco (I'm doing the main Picross puzzles)
Picross S Master System and Genesis Edition (have to finish the last page of color Picross puzzles, then there'll be just the clip Picross ones to 100% it)
Since I'm on vacation, I hope this week will allow a great deal of time to gaming
I love Ys, the action RPG series, but considering the number of games I have on my backlog, a crossover fighting game like this is just not for me. But I'm happy it's gonna be available for those who are into this kind of crossover
It seems to be a made for Japan game. Although there's obviously no problem with anyone elsewhere enjoying it, I think Japan is where it'll likely be more successful
I never thought Tears of the Kingdom would have been one of my most played games this year, but yeah, that makes sense. My top three are nothing out of ordinary:
Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Animal Crossing
Just a simple guy. I thought some Picross game would make the top three, but I was wrong
And considering it's a time with less striking releases, news outlets will tend to dig for these leaks as though they're gold. I like leaks, but when they're a dime a dozen, there's just no point. I bet the official reveal will come in January
Mega man X has been dormant for some years now. The franchise desperately needs a good new release! But if you give me Mega Man 12 meanwhile, I won't complain while I wait for a new X
I'm currently replaying Circle of the Moon from the Advance Collection and waiting for a sale to get the Dominus Collection. It's never been discounted since it was released in August, but as these collections traditionally get discounted by Konami at some point, it's only a matter of time
I spent such a good time beating all the Mega Picross Puzzles in Picross S Genesis And Master System, so I decided to revisit an old classic before diving into Namco Picross: I'm playing Castlevania Circle of the Moon from the Advance Collection. Not the greatest Symphony of the Nightesque Castlevania, but a really solid game which helped paved the way for what would come out later on the GBA and DS.
And I'm also playing DKC Tropical Freeze in short bursts trying to 100% it. It's gonna be a long way until I do it, but it's such fun work
@Maxz That's it, man. The guy mentioned jazz, but only God knows what he meant by it. I doubt he referred to jazz's depth, variety, richness, range, technique, feeling, etc, etc
It's a curious thing.... I'd like to hear him say what role Sega plays today. Then, we could understand him better. Sounds like he's a little lost. Maybe he still got his feet stuck in the mud Nintendo left behind in the 90s.
Being from the UK, the name 'Rita' never quite sat right with us for Power Rangers. It sounds too much like Rita from down the chip shop
That might happen when you localize a cultural product. Although Rita is quite a popular name in Brazil (especially among 40-year-olds and older), the name was used in our localization, too, and in my opinion it matches the villain perfectly.
But since her original name is Bandora, I don't get why they didn't use something like Pandora, for example.
Great to know the game performs and plays well. Let's get it soon!
Awesome game. My favorite in the series with a wonderful and lengthy single player mode. It can't get more fun than that. It could have been perfect if online had been decent, but it wasn't. At this day and age, I don't know if there's an excuse for such a bad online service, especially considering the relevance of the franchise
I keep playing DKC Tropical Freeze and Animal Crossing New Horizons and this week I came back to an addiction I've developed in the past few years: Picross. Currently replaying Picross S Genesis And Master System. I need to finish its final five Mega Picross puzzles. When I do it, I'll start Picross Namco Legendary Edition

One of the games I love to replay from time to time. It's always a great experience, even though 20 years have passed
This forastero is my favorite title in the franchise alongside RE2

When I first opened the Switch box, I saw them, understood what they were for, but never used them. They've been in the box since then.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Crash Nitro Kart (GameCube)
This time it's hard to say which one is "the least worse". They're all so ugly!
PS1, Saturn, N64, and some Game Cube games... Maybe this was the worst box art era ever with the introduction of 3D models. My God!
