I have this preordered already, I can’t wait as I loved the first. It’s a shame it’s coming later than I thought but that’ll give me time to play Zero Escape VLR.
I picked up The Danganronpa collection and The House Of Fata Morgana for Christmas - but I’m about 20 hours into Robotic; Notes so I’ll be playing more of that, quite upbeat for a VN, which is good for the holiday period.
I’m currently halfway through Robotic; Notes and I have the Danganronpa collection for Christmas.
But I’ve picked this up on sale and I hope to get to it in 2022. Hopefully before but probably after 13 Sentinels and the AI Somnium Files sequel - the Switch is becoming a powerhouse for these kind of games.
598 hours for me and 75 games which is more than 2020 surprisingly. I also find 75 quite shocking. Do individual NSO games count?
I think the increased playtime is because I’ve played my 3DS and Vita less, and also as my son started getting interested (he’s back into Lego for now though).
My top 3 played games were:
SMT V (73 hours)
Mario Maker 2 (my son that one, 72 hours).
SMT III (54 hours)
I have this on psp and vita, but my vita needs a new charger. So like the Danganronpa Switch collection I’ll probably re buy games instead of buying one.
I’d like it to be an enhanced version taking the best of both, but I’m not holding by breath for Atlus to put that much into it.
I’m a bit unsure and haven’t really been able to settle on anything since putting 80 hours into SMT V and getting all the endings. That was amazing.
I’ve got the Danganronpa collection for Christmas so I’ll be playing V3 then.
It’s also a busy time with prep for Christmas and trying to get some jobs done in the lead up. So to play something it needs to be relaxing and something I can dip in and out of, so I’ve started Robotic; Notes from my backlog. It’s doing the trick too well as I keep falling asleep!
I can get to this review from Meracritic, but not browsing the Nintendolife site. One other comment makes me think there’s an issue.
I own all 3 games on Vita. But I haven’t played the 3rd yet, giving me a sort of excuse to double dip on this fantastic series as a Christmas present to myself.
Like others commenting I really enjoyed the first game, so I’m happy this is coming. I’ve not read into I but I’m not sure what they would do for a sequel so I’m intrigued.
@Ralizah this time last year I had played a load of MegaTen and rpgs in general and had a long break watching anime. This year I’d only played Strikers and Nocturne (a smidge of Jack Bros doesn’t count) so I was fresh for SMT V.
I’m now wanting to play SMT I, Raidou or Overclocked next, but I might feel differently in another 20 hours or so when I’m done with SMT V and want a change of pace.
@Ralizah I’m really enjoying the platforming in this game - but mixing that with the more traditional puzzle element I couldn’t get both those parts of my brain to combine. I found Strange Journey easier, I worried that my lack of skill is would mean I’d never beat it. I rarely do this but I took to Reddit after beating it to see what other people thought. And a lot of people had indeed complained they were struggling too.
I think it was 80% my lack of platforming reflex but it probably didn’t help when joy con drift kicked in and kept me running off pillars when I intended to stop.
@Ralizah I did the wind gimmicks last night and really struggled. Near the end of the 3rd floor I got blown back to the beginning and almost cried. It took me an hour and a half to get through that one room.
I guess at least now I can say I did the OG version.
If the camera was updated there rather than the overworld as planned I think it would have helped. My joycon also started drifting to add insult to injury.
I picked up Okamiden in the last year or two for 20 quid. I still haven’t got around to playing it, but a lot of DS and 3DS games I’m glad I picked up when the Switch was new and no one was interested in these games. That certainly isn’t the case now.
I played and finished Okami on Switch, and absolutely loved it. The physical copy is beautiful too.
I’m 30 hours into Witcher 3 and still only at level 11, this is a massive game.
I was also going to go back to The Binding Of Isaac until I realised the dlc isn’t out in Europe as yet. I might play a bit of Hades or Dead Cells to scratch that itch.
I’m just killing time really until SMT V releases. I’m also seeing if I can get my hands on Jack Bros which seems a good fit if I want to play SMT and Isaac.
I really really cannot wait. But I’ve waited this long.
I’m trying to stop myself from playing any SMT stuff ahead of release so I’m hungry for it when I finally get to play this game.
I don’t think I’ve ever followed a release for such a long time, so I really have tried to keep my expectations in check, I can’t see myself being disappointed.
I’ve been a bit stuck not wanting to start something too big with SMT V on the horizon.
So obviously I’ve started playing The Switcher 3, by the logic that it’s so massive I’d struggle to complete it in one push anyway.
It’s been in my backlog since it came out and I’m so glad I’ve finally got around to it. I usually play JRPGs rather than western ones but it deserves all its praise. It’s hard to put down and addictive completing all the quests and investigating the area.
Both Nintendo Store and Amazon don’t deliver for a few days after November 12th.
I guess I’ve waited years, so what’s a few more days. But the wait is getting harder now it’s getting close and I can see people in my friends list already playing review copies.
As Super Robot Wars 30 nears it’s got me excited to pick back up Super Robot Wars T. But also to watch a lot of mecha anime (Code Geass, Gundam, Evangelion films), so that’s squeezing my gaming time. Probably until SMT V lands.
Otherwise I’d be tempted by Caligula Effect 2, and I’m holding off getting Disco Elysium until it’s patched, on sale, or both.
I picked up Crusin Blast last weekend and what a great game it is, just pure fun. It seems to be under the radar a bit.
I’m going to a friends tonight and I plan on taking it for some head to head fun, and I’ll get to try a couple of rounds of Mario Golf too before going for a curry.
This should get me in the mood for going to Donnington tomorrow to see some touring car racing, no idea what to expect as I’ve never tried something like that before - but someone had a spare ticket.
I beat Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and what a classic that was. I hope to be able to play Dawn Of Sorrow on a future collection, with button controls. Please make it happen Konami.
I’ve not played any Mario RPGs and Paper Mario coming to Switch online has got me interested. I’ve started Super Mario RPG, and just met Geno. A very charming game that should keep me busy until Disco Elysium comes to Switch (awaiting reports on how it performs but I’m feeling optimistic).
I got into the Castlevania series this year and it’s been quite a ride so far.
Playing the earlier action games first made me really appreciate the fundamentals the igavanias then added exploration and levelling to. Personally I prefer these games to the Metroid series.
I really want Sin & Punishment and my son really wants to play the N64 Yoshi game, so I might subscribe to the additional tier for the first year depending on how much more this costs and then see if they keep adding more systems now. This is how they get you.

Still SMT V for me. I’m 60 hours in and I think I’ll still be playing a while longer, especially if I go for all the endings.
I’ve also picked up Dodonpachi Resurrection which I’m looking forward to giving a go too.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Is Getting Its First Update, Here Are The Patch Notes
@BlackenedHalo for me it was jarring, but probably not as bad as I’m making out! I wouldn’t want to put anyone off.

A lot of SMT V, I keep dying, just lost an hours progress but it’s so addictive.
A little of Binding Of Isaac Repentance as it came out on this side of the pond now.

SMT V for me, after waiting so long I’ll be savouring it. The focus on exploration is fantastic so far (only 2 hours in).

Nah.
It makes sense for 3 if it’s how best to get it running. But just lazy for the others.
Maybe if there was a deep deep discount to ‘rent’ these games.

Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow, fantastic game so far.
EDIT: I’ve gone to Whitby Abbey today, which seems quite apt.
