My 9 year old and I have started watching the Marvel movies so that’s inspired me to try Spider-Man, it’s so much fun moving across New York I forget to progress the story, and I enjoy the stealth bits that come up then less anyway.
I also introduced him to a little bit of MvC3 this morning. I also want to get back to Guilty Gear Strive now we’re on season 3 and Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel I squeeze in where I can too.
I also watched a bit of Evo last week and picked up Street Fighter 6 on Steam Deck. It’s great, the solo mode reminds me of Yakuza. I also showed my son a bit of Dragon Ball FighterZ this morning.
I don’t support Atlus practices with the price of these no frills ports, and the limited time SMT/Persona character DLC.
Except financially, they got me. I do enjoy the series and I’ve always wanted to try 3.
I think this will inevitably go on sale, and then I’d recommend trying one of the games at least. Hopefully this will lead to a new entry, as they mention in the developer interviews.
We’ve hired a screen at the local cinema for my sons birthday party to watch it next week.
Last year it was Sonic 2. He loves Mario and is very excited. I doubt the 9 year olds will mind that it’s all spectacle and light on character development.

I’ve bought all the dlc’s and told myself they’d pull me back into the game. But this one has done the trick. I’ve got a lot of new content to enjoy since the 50 hours I put into this back when it first released.
I’ve struggled to get into Fire Emblem Engage so I will wait until I’m more in a strategy mood.
I fancy an old school rpg and I’ve just picked up Live-A-Live so it might be that.
This was probably brought on by finding the rabbit hole of pdf scans of SNES strategy guides online. I never owned any at the time but the artwork is beautiful so it’s still so nostalgic. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Pokemon, Earthbound etc.
I’m really excited to get to this when I finish my current game, I’m having to be disciplined not to jump straight in.
I haven’t played an FE game for over a year (Sacred Stones) and with so much to play I don’t really mind it seems more traditional and straight forward. I really enjoyed the social elements of Three Houses, but I never really play all the different routes in games anyway, and I’m an SMT fan.
I got Dragon Quest Treasures for Christmas and it was a perfect holiday game that really pulled me back into the series. It was the perfect gateway for my son too, his copy of Pokémon Violet is still untouched (we can await the next patch).
Now I’m playing DQ IV (DS) and this morning we’ve started a playthrough of DQ XI S together on Switch. I also picked up an art book for the series that we’ve been going through together at bed time.
I’ve finished my second playthrough of Persona 4, and I must like it as it kept my interest again for 60 hours. I don’t cry at media, but that game gets me really invested in the characters. When it’s time for you to leave town, and the game to end, it’s hard.
I’m in December in my replay of Persona 4 Golden on Steam Deck so I’m nearing the end. I never replay games but I’m just as enthralled as the first time.
It would be great to see a remaster of IV/A or Digital Devil Saga 1&2 as a collection.
I’ll try and keep my expectations in check as I’m not even assuming we’ll get anything like that. A re imagining of the first SMT in the SMT V engine is wishing too big, if I was to dare to dream.
All the Persona talk has got me in the mood. I never replay games but I’ve started Persona 4 Golden on Steam Deck when my original playthrough was on Vita. I’ve got through the 3 hour opening now so the real game starts.
I’ve opted for 4 as I played Persona 5 more recently and I love 3, 4 and 5 all for different reasons. Each could be my favourite on any given day.
I’m keener to replay Persona 4 first, as it’s been longer since I played that one but I will pick it up down the line and I’m a little jealous of those who haven’t experienced it yet.
I’ve been playing DMC5, as a great October game and Sonic Racing Transformed.
I don’t usually play racing games much but it had me intrigued to pick up Forza Horizon 5 on sale, as a test of what Steam Deck can run (it passed, it’s beautiful) and something once beaten I can come back to from time to time.
I’m playing Soul Hackers 2. My expectations are in check and it’s certainly not as visceral an experience as the SMT series greats.
But coming back to fusing the demons and filling the map dungeon crawling, it’s so comforting. Which sounds more like playing Pokémon than SMT - cozying up with it. I’m really enjoying it.
I’m still interested to see how it’ll perform on Switch. I could get it on Steam but it would be easier for my son to play too if the Switch version is good. And then I can probably justify it as a Christmas present too!
I’ve waited a long time to finally try the series and it is not disappointing. After a slow start time now melts away and you have to remember to actually progress the story.
These articles do seem to cause community frustration.
I love my Steam Deck. I still love my 3DS.
I bought most games I want for my 3DS now and I’d rather play on the original hardware. But Nintendo don’t want to sell me the games anymore so my only options would be emulation or paying someone random on the second hand market.
I’d like to give this a try, maybe when there is a sale, I feel sorry for them with the timing that we all like Pokemon again now with 2 good games this year

Ooh I enjoy Sci;Adv games. I’ll pick this one up when I’m in the mood for a VN
Re: Sega & Atlus Airing Special Broadcast At The Tokyo Game Show Next Month
Some more Atlus Switch support would be nice with only Tactica of their recent games getting on the system
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 26th)
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is amazing and I’m not into building or farming games.
Also some Street Fighter 6 and Guilty Gear Strive on Steam Deck.

Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - A F2P Card-Battler With Potential, But Noobs Beware
I’m addicted to this game.
It runs great on my potato laptop, Steam Deck, iPad and iPhone but sadly not on Switch.
Re: The Pokémon Trading Card Game Online Will Sunset On 5th June
I’ve migrated to the successor which is still very beta. And with Pokémon you never know if it’ll stay that way.
But I’m addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, so I’ve barely touched it.

Ooh, the ps3 is in the loft so this would be very convenient
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 1st)
Probably more Slay The Spire, that has got me trying Magic The Gathering Arena.
When I get back to my wheelhouse I want to start either Digimon Cybersleuth or Nier Automata.
EDIT: well I’d never have guessed I’m playing The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog. Downloading now
Re: Review: Have A Nice Death - Delightfully Dark, Brutally Tough Roguelite Action
I’m in a bit of a roguelike phase so I’ll keep my eye on this one
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 25th)
As a break from narrative games I’m playing Dead Cells to try the Castlevania dlc.
Also Slay The Spire that I picked up on sale a while ago. I’ve never really tried card games so I’m not very good but the hours are falling away.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 18th)
As a break from RPGs I’ve been pulled back into Dead Cells.
I played it at launch and coming back with all the dlc is a really fresh experience.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei 30th Anniversary Concert Will Dazzle At Anime Expo 2023
I’m in the U.K. but I’m hoping to see it online

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 25th)
Pokemon Violet, so me and my 8 year old can play together - parallel playthroughs, but then we can chat about it.
Like everyone has already said the performance is poor but the loop is as addictive as ever. While that ain’t broke, they’ll probably never fix it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 11th)
I’ve just got to the final chapter in Live A Live.
But I’m out tonight to see a band called Mogwai so it’ll be Sunday before I start on that.
I also tried GB Tetris on the telly, for fun.
In other unrelated media I’m also about three quarters of my way through the manga Goodnight Punpun, not an easy read but very special.
Re: Review: Akai Katana Shin - One Of CAVE’s Very Best Horizontal Bullet Hells
I’ve been getting more into Cave recently, but I hadn’t heard of this one. I’ll keep my eye out now
Re: Toaplan's Arcade Bullet Hell 'Batsugun' Is Coming To Switch In May
This is great news
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 4th)
I’m playing Live-A-Live and it’s really surprised me how good and varied all the chapters are. I only have the Edo one to go now.
My son beat Super Mario 3D World this morning (he persevered, so proud) and we might continue to chip away at Dragon Quest XI together tomorrow.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 21st)
Fire Emblem has arrived, but I’ve just got the full team together on Dragon Quest IV so I’ve still got a way to go on that first.
I’m also doing a slow and steady playthrough of Dragon Quest XI with my son on weekends.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Persona 5 Royal On Switch
I could have bought it on Steam Deck but I impulse purchased the Switch steel book - I don’t think there is a big difference
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 5th)
I’m just starting the 5th dungeon in Persona 4 Golden and the 5th chapter of Bayonetta 3.

@Nancyboy you have your pick of rabbit holes with the Steam Deck, enjoy.
Love your pic, Thelonious Monk was a legend.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 29th)
After years waiting my hype had wained, but the reviews convinced me so I’ve picked up Bayonetta 3.
I’ll be playing with the witch when I have the telly, and Persona 4 on the Steam Deck when I don’t.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition
I’m really torn on whether to finally experience this game on Switch or Steam Deck.
I hear the Steam port wasn’t handled as well, but has improved since.
Re: Disco Elysium's Creative Talent Is No Longer At Developer ZA/UM
The first game was arguably a piece of art. And the team that created it and their ethos were equally impressive.
Maybe you couldn’t catch lightning in a bottle twice, but that’s a real shame.

Re: Review: Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival - A Solid Entry That Marches To A Familiar Beat
I can’t keep up with the series anymore. Hope they keep to the same version for a while, and just expand the songs.

Re: Yakuza Dev Still Doesn't Think Switch Is The Right Platform For The Series
This is such a shame as Switch is a much different proposition to when they got their fingers burned on Wii U.
This decision to not bring the series to Switch has cost me a pretty penny, as it was my main motivator to get a Steam Deck.

Re: Hands On: The Witch Is Back - Bayonetta 3 Is Real, And We've Played It
I loved Bayo 1 & 2 but it’s been so long my hype has wained. The trailers haven’t sold me yet but I’m hoping this changes.
I do agree totally with the comments above that the performance is absolutely fine.
Trying to be sensible (boring) I need to play DMC5 in my backlog first.
