The arcade racing game Cruis'n Blast made its debut on the Nintendo Switch last year. If you didn't pick it up then, you might be interested in checking it out now.
Raw Thrills and GameMill Entertainment have announced a permanent price cut - reducing the title from $39.99 / £34.99 down to just $19.99 / £19.99.
If you need an extra incentive - the developer has said DLC and online multiplayer is on the way - to add to the local splitscreen play options.
Here's a bit about the game from our review:
"Cruis'n Blast is a hugely entertaining arcade style racer with incredible set-pieces that has us crossing every possible body part in the hope that it's successful enough to encourage more of the same somewhere down the line."
Have you tried out this arcade racer yet? Will you be grabbing it at this new price? Leave a comment below.

Hopefully GameMill will have a price cut on Nickelodeon Brawl too, one of the best platform fighters ever IMO but bogged down in the public eye quite a bit by its exaggeratedly high price tag.
Hmmmm... I mean... technically it's still at full price...
Fun game totally worth it.
It's sad that this game has had to be permanently reduced, which means that has performed terribly. Many people doesn't even know about it...
so does this game run well on Switch?
As fun as the game is, it's now at the price it should've been to begin with.
@Moroboshi876 I think you'll find it's sold pretty well. Hard to find a physical copy now so glad I bought it months ago. Obviously it's been reduced as online multiplayer is on the way and they want more people to experience this gem of a game.
Absolutely go and buy it if you have even a remote interest in arcade racers. It's so fun and dumb in the best way.
Not exactly my favorite arcade racers out there but it's a fun romp. Now it's basically a bargin at that price. Pick it up if you're the least bit interested.
@anoyonmus Frame rate drops exist but nothing to worry about.
@Moroboshi876
The game sold over 500,000, which is why it's getting DLC and online multiplayer.
Ooo! That’s one I’ve been keeping an eye on!
I'll be looking for a physical copy. I prefer physical. Sometimes, the price cut justifies a download. Other times, the ownership of a physical copy outweighs the discount.
I bought it at its original price. Totally worth it, in my opinion.
For this price, it's a bargain.
Glad to read it's not for the usual reason! It's a great game. Still unknown or unplayed among gamers around me, though, despite my recommendation.
My favorite racer on the system. No regrets for buying it at full price. Great game!
Great game...Most Walmarts still have physical for around $30.
I already bought it in a previous sale. Digital should always be a little cheaper than physical (looking at you Nintendo).
I wish them the best!
50% permanent price cut in America but only 33% in Australia. I hate how some regions get shafted, and no I don’t want to set up multiple accounts as that would be a pain for me. Still a price cut of a good game is good news.
Got it recently from german amazon for €25 — it's sold out now.
As for multiple accounts, I have a regional and an US one: two is enough for region-locked and discounted games.
@Dizzy_Boy big agree.
the game is pretty fun... for a while.
I played it and I saw all the tracks in a single playthrough, and I did all the unlocks in two play sessions, and was like "oh. ...that's it?"
Crusin Blast is definitely a case of "it's good, but..."
Great fun game and well worth the money. Really good in multiplayer too.
Kinda B.S. I paid full. I want store credit.😢
@CharlieGirl atleast were getting some DLC, plus the online mode should give the game some extra life aswell.
Tbh though. It's an arcade game, and those kind of games are only ment to be played in short sessions any way.
The Mario Kart series is pretty much the same if it wasn't for the online mode, I wouldn't have played them all that much.
Possibly the most fun game on the Switch, one of my favourites.
I didn't like how little racing there actually is, often you can only properly steer your vehicle for small parts of the race, half of the time you are just "watching spectacle".
@Noid calling it "one of the best platform fighters ever" is a fair comment, but considering the amount its completely dropped off (judging from SteamDB, only 65 players are online for PC, with viewer figures on Twitch nearing single digits), saying that is a little exaggerative. Also, I'd say that the fact the game was clearly a rush job (lazy Character Selection screen, no voice acting, generic sound effects) and the fact that coverage of the game by the Smash community stopped soon after its release (anyone paid to promote it said their copy-pasted "this game is so good" script then left the game, the other top Smash players just went back to their previously-scheduled entertainment) were just as big contributors as the high price.
Now that is a great price for the game, I paid the 40 for it myself and although it is a great time it never felt like it was worth that price to me. At 20 bucks it is an easy recommendation.
This discounting model that lots of games companies use is just an insult to real fans of the games.
Great game and really fun couch co-up sessions.
@Gwynbleidd You totally misinterpreted me. I was sad for the game, thinking that the price cut was due to low sales, being a great title. It turns out that's not the case.
I think no digital game should cost as much as a physical copy of the same game, and in this case the physical copy could be found cheaper than that, so its digital price was, to me, ridiculously high. And that goes for Nintendo and its first-party games too.
@Mr_Horizon "I didn't like how little racing there actually is, often you can only properly steer your vehicle for small parts of the race, half of the time you are just "watching spectacle".
This week I played it for the first time at a movie theatre arcade. I heard all the raves on these forums about it. Played with my sister (she's a very casual non-gamer). She seemed confused that it didn't seem like you could crash or lose? It's the racing equivalent of going bowling with the bumpers on so you can't throw any gutter balls.
I really liked this game. I appreciate a bit of spectacle in an arcade racer and it's great fun with a few friends. Arcade racers with this type of budget is sadly quite rare these days, so I'm happy to see it will receive new content and hopefully it has sold well enough for a sequel.
One of the best games of last year.
Thank you for the reminder! I just bought it
This game is very shallow in content. It's an empty game. Very little replay value. No championship mode, and it's very fast to do 100%. When you have Mario Kart 8, this game just picks up dust. $19 is still expensive!
It would be a bargain at twice the price!
Now this price is reasonable
I think I got it cheaper physically than it was available digitally before this drop. But that happens a lot anyway.
@DiamondJim at least I don’t feel so bad now. I bought it during Black Friday when it was discounted to A$39 at a few big chains. No regrets though as it’s a lot of fun. Arcade should be better but even my local arcade which is lively has busted machines without the full motion or camera working.
I think I will finally bite the bullet with this one. The high price tag was a real turn off for me considering it doesn't have online multiplayer. Now for this price and online multiplayer on the way I think it's finally time to get it
Bought it for 30 euros physically, and it's right up there with 1080 Avalanche and Excite Truck when it comes to my favourite racing games from Nintendo. Add Burnout 3 and maybe NFS Nitro and you have my top 5, I think, if kart racers are separately ranked. Not too much content in this one though. Its longevity is purely based on replaying the same. Which is still fun, but takes away the reward and motivation...
This game rules. $20 is a steal. I'll definitely be picking up whatever DLC comes out as well. Favourite racing game on Switch
Dang! I'm picking this up. I was going to buy it eventually at the original price.
Bought this on sale for $20 and for that price I feel is fair for the amount of content on offer. It is a interesting game and my kids loved the fact you can drive as a unicorn but there is just not that many tracks. In fact they pad out the game play by playing same tracks over and over with different superficial graphical elements on top. Each of these tracks are very short as well, which for young kids is great but for someone looking for something to sink their teeth into its all over too quickly. Hopefully the planned DLC will add more to its value proposition.
LOL, Nintendo knew that this is garbage.
This game is a self spoofing unashamedly ugly game, it knows that it is bad and the devs purposely made it looks like trash. It's like a game made by Homer Simpson.
Eh, I think $20 is the right price tag for it. I had a bit of fun with it myself and I don't regret buying it at the $20 under its sale (at the time), but $40? It's a bit of a hard sell for me.
I would say that I have the same gripe for Umihara Kawase Fresh! regarding its $40 price tag as well, but at least that game gave me a genuinely fun time (as well as giving me "2019 Nintendo platformer" I longed for).
I bought it physical for the $40 full MSRP and feel it was sufficiently entertaining for me at that price (but I do have a real soft spot for arcade-style games, so YMMV). At $20, I don't think anybody with a fondness for arcade racers could complain, though. You'll get a lot of rad neon 90s awesomeness for your money!
I'll be looking forward to trying out any DLC that arrives.
Still too pricey for shovelware. I love arcade racers and poured days into Cruisin’ games in the 64 era. The courses are essentially reskins of each other and the rubber band effect is so out of whack that winning is just about knowing how to end well a race. I played this for a little over 5hrs because I REALLY wanted to like it. I found it absolutely intolerable. I have serious buyer’s remorse with this purchase.
Damn…the game seems divisive. Some love it others hate it. I’d have never paid full price for this kind of game but I’ll give it go at this price. I’m assuming the devs are looking to grow the install base with this price drop and then make their $ via DLC releases so hopefully it gets decent post launch support
I love this game I play it a couple times a week even though I beat it. Just crazy fun. I like racing as a dinasour shooting lazers against race cars lol. Music is fun and its suuuuper arcady. I love it
@Serpo I honestly had more fun with that game than any other game that whole month I would say lol I find it fun
@Dizzy_Boy
According to the market (where I think it sold decently), you would be incorrect. A game's price is only as good as its sales.
@ChaoticIgnorance The point I was trying to get at in my first post is that I don't think the original price was worth the amount of content, nor the amount of time spent replaying the game.
I bet most people that unlocked everything have barely played the game since, and it doesn't take long to do so.
@Dizzy_Boy That's fair, but it was tough to infer whether you were trying to state a fact or opinion.
It definitely looks a bit slim on the number of vehicles.
Wow... I got it at 50% off just for it to permanently be that price-- With another sale it... Well, you get it. Ah well, I'm fully enjoying the game and look forward to how they will pull off online.
I got it phisical when it released for around 25 with some best buy credits. Worth it for the fun. It's not a real skill racer. Just a blast and smash romp but that's it's charm.
Hopefully it has a strong online community when that is added. I'm always saddened when quality racers on the Switch that are not Mario Kart(see fast rmx) quickly turn into ghost towns.the only
Let's!
Go!
CrruuiIIISIIIIN'
come on, you know the words!
Enjoyable game. Hopefully more people pick it up.
It's more roller-coaster than racing game. Just finished KH3 Limit Cut and now need to choose on starting either Fire Emblem 3 House's with all DLC or Pokemon Shield also with all DLC. Backlogged gaming.
This game is fantastic. I own 2 copies and have purchased multiples as gifts. If you have kids that span multiple ages/skill levels, this game is perfect for leveling the playing field.
I'm always looking for games that my less skilled or invested friends will enjoy playing together and this one is one of the best in that regard! great game.
This was in my top 3 for GOTY last year. I don’t regret paying full price because I have had so much fun with it. DLC will get me to dive back in.
It seems that it wasn't a permanent cut.
It's price is 39.99 € on the European eshop.
Booooh!
If by "permanent" they meant "for a limited time"...then yeah lol. It's back up to $39.99. But then again, the article stated "Raw Thrills and GameMill Entertainment have announced a permanent price cut" and showed a tweet but the tweet never announced anything about a permanent price cut...looked more like a sale announcement. Poor article title.
