Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

IOI

Overall 7/10, it’s baffling how Mario Kart World wasn’t even mentioned for an update or expansion while DK Bananza got an expensive DLC for one bonus level just weeks after release and Pokémon got another DLC before even releasing the game, egregiously selling cut content from the base game separately.

I like the games, Mario Galaxy, Metroid and Hades II are my standouts but greed at Nintendo is worst than ever (btw you can’t use vouchers on MP4 or Mario Galaxy).

Re: Borderlands 4 On Switch 2 Will "Mostly" Run At 30fps

IOI

With all these game-key cards and storage currently being this expensive I think I’ll just avoid third-party games altogether on Switch 2 same as I did with the Switch.

It’s great the Switch 2 is getting third-parties almost at launch and that the console is able to run them at all but with these limitations it really doesn’t make sense to buy the SW2 version if you have any other console or PC.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"

IOI

@Willo567 It could be awful, it could be near perfect, we don’t know yet but the fact we’re having this discussion at all is because they’re literally warning that performance may drop, even if it only drops 1 FPS it’s still such a baffling warning to have for the second big exclusive for a brand new console, that’s my whole point.

If Sony or Microsoft dared to say this about ANY of their first-party games they’d be roasted to hell but here half of the fanbase is willing to excuse it.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"

IOI

This is bothering me way more than it should, the team hasn’t shipped a game in 8 years, development started on Switch 1 and moved to Switch 2 and despite all that they actively warn you performance isn’t great? Then delay the game until it’s ready…

Also, it’s only been one month since the console launch and first-party games are already struggling with performance? This isn’t a good look at all.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

IOI

Game itself looks great, it’s more Mario Kart, but the Direct showed nothing new and more importantly NOTHING that somehow justifies being an $80/€90 game.

You can easily get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for half the price of World and it arguably has more content, the only thing missing is the free roam open world which is by far the most disappointing thing they showed about the game, I’m not thrilled at all about exploring and finding outfits and P-switches tbh.

Re: Here's Why Switch 2's Joy-Con And Pro Controller Don't Have Analogue Triggers

IOI

If you have played Returnal on PS5 you know the true potential of analogue triggers and how it can be used for different inputs, not many developers take advantage of them but when they do it absolutely makes a big difference.

I wonder how they’ll workaround GameCube games or ports from other consoles that do use or even need this feature.

Re: Nintendo: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Is A "Canonical Tale"

IOI

I’d watch the cutscenes on YouTube, I did play Age of Calamity and kinda hated it tbh, gameplay is sooo repetitive although it had cool cutscenes and somehow a better soundtrack that BOTW I just didn’t enjoy it.

I just hope that for the next big Zelda game the story takes central stage and actually be a story instead of “look at this memories of 1000000 years ago”.

Re: Nintendo Of America President Says Tariffs "Not Factored" Into Switch 2 Price

IOI

Tbh I don’t see much issue with the console price itself, some games are even performing better than a Series S which I really didn’t expect, if we factor in the bundle with MKW it’s “only” $30 more than expected ($399 + $70).

Issue comes when you look at games prices at $80/€90 and trying to justify it on replay value is just disingenuous, like, I’ve played Fortnite more than any Mario Kart and haven’t spent a cent on that game, and I know it’s comparing apples to oranges but the “replay value” at $80 it’s just a load of BS.
