@Gamecuber @electrolite77 I don't think it's about power. Switch 2 is missing out on loads of 3rd party games at the moment meanwhile Xbox is a very unstable platform. If you want to play the big 3rd party games, you pretty much either have to buy a PS5 or have faith that Switch 2 will get it in the future.

Playing through Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac and then FF Tactics after that. Very little is happening until FFVII Remake in late January so I'm mostly catching up on Switch 1 games I didn't get around to playing because I prioritized playing DK Bananza when I got a Switch 2 in early October.

@AussieMcBucket It's almost always October/November. There were a few exceptions like Warzone (1.0 and Mobile) and MW2 Campaign Remastered which were March though.

If the upcoming release includes Switch 1, it's likely CoD Mobile or a remaster but if it's Switch 2 only it's probably Warzone 2.0.

I wonder if they'll bring it back with red Joy-Con 2 for MAR10 day. Compared to the Switch 1 days of red/blue at launch, yellow for ARMS, green/pink for Splatoon 2 and a different red for Odyssey the colour options for Switch 2's launch year are very limiting.

That's good to hear, Rise is my favourite game in the trilogy and I didn't finish Shadow years ago on Xbox because there was a point where the floodgates opening for Switch 1 3rd party ports gave sizable hope for the survivor trilogy coming to Nintendo hardware.

Focusing on Tomb Raider Definitive Edition again, reached level 60 in the multiplayer and it's hard to find matches so I may just start the single player.

I know about the glitch where playing multiplayer resets your skills in single player so I need to start the single player at a point where I'm not going to try to find multiplayer matches prior to single player completion.

Surprised it's that early on in the year considering RE7-9 is February, MH Stories 3 is March and Pragmata is April. Would've thought it would've been some point in May - August considering GTA6 being delayed to November opens up Spring/Summer 2026 a lot more.

Yoshi and Fire Emblem are the final hopes for the future of true physical gaming, if those turn out to be Key Cards then it's over...

Continuing with Legends Z-A's DLC and hoping to find more Tomb Raider Definitive Edition multiplayer matches.

Pragmata was a really nice surprise, excited to check out the Switch 2 demo and it's only 4 months away. Mega Man and Tomb Raider reveals were cool but I think they'd be more exciting reveals if made closer to launch (and the announcement of Switch 2 version in the case of Tomb Raider).

Is it just the Europe side or worldwide? I did notice after a system update last month that Nintendo requires you to accept some new data processing stuff to receive things like Year in Review and the ability to participate in betas.

It's nice that Air Riders is continuing to do well in Japan. Hopefully it convinces Nintendo that other franchises like F-Zero, Wave Race and 1080 can coexist alongside Mario Kart.

While I was hoping for Path of Radiance as ending the year on a big RPG seems to work very well (ended 2022 with FFVII + Crisis Core, 2023 with TotK and 2024 with Brothership), this is still a nice surprise.

Playing more of Prime 4 and hoping to find more matches in the multiplayer for Tomb Raider Definitive Edition.

I think the focus turning back to DK Bananza is about the GotY nomination rather than an announcement tease.

@Friendly I'm not fussed about better graphics so buying the cheaper Switch 1 version and playing via backwards compatibility works perfectly for me.

The Switch 1 physical version has been preordered for awhile and I'm really excited to check it out tomorrow.

That's a huge shame, I liked it that Legends Z-A didn't shove the Switch 2 edition in your face.

I wonder if Nintendo's acknowledging MK World as a pack-in now (like how Wii Sports was for Wii) and they discontinue the standalone console next year.

Air Riders is still high on the eshop charts (3rd for Switch 2, 7th when considering Switch 1 and 2 games) so it might be the game skewed more digitally in the UK. When you can get MK World for £4 via the hardware bundle and the vast majority of games are Key Cards, some people may just go fully digital on Switch 2 as a result.

@canaryfarmer This is a boxed only list, Marvel Cosmic Invasion's physical release is coming in March.

Focusing again on Tomb Raider Definitive Edition multiplayer where I can. If it's active enough maybe I can unlock Lara as a playable character by the time Prime 4 releases.

I bought the Switch 1 version because that's the one which is most likely to have a true physical release in the future and the multiplayer so far has been very fun though a few matches have been ruined by cheaters.

It'll be nice to revisit this after beating Prime 4. I will say though it's quite something that literally everything is getting post-launch support except MK World, at this rate Nintendo will announce Prime 4 DLC at the Game Awards.

@Twilite9 I don't think the full Q1 2026 lineup has been announced yet. I could easily see Pokemon Champions and 1 other release (Wonder Switch 2 Edition or Yoshi) also coming in that window.

Surprisingly at certain times of the day I was able to easily find multiplayer matches in the Switch version of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition so while I was planning on doing my 3rd playthrough of the single player (played once on 360 and once on XB1), I decided to focus on the multiplayer considering I didn't get to play much of the multiplayer on those other platforms.

@Bobylicious I've just checked (it's November 21st now so discounts are active in my region) and I've got 20% off when it should be 30% off as I have both collections. The sale ending time disappeared from the eshop page which makes me think the loyalty discounts accidentally replaced the launch discount.

I decided to get this at launch instead of waiting for a potential sale after all because of the Pokopia Key Card mess. For all we know, Mario Tennis Fever could be the final true physical 1st party Switch 2 game outside of "Switch 2 Editions".

Actually playing the game however will have to wait until after beating Prime 4. The surprise shadow drop of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition yesterday already means I'm going to need to scrap my plan of replaying Prime 2 and 3 prior to Prime 4.

A rather weird situation that this news is happening tomorrow but Air Riders reviews are nowhere to be seen with the game releasing in 2 days. You'd think Nintendo would want the 2 things to happen on different days?

Continuing with Age of Imprisonment and playing a bit more of the Air Riders beta on the side.

I'll watch the Direct but I do admit it's disappointing that it isn't Prime 4 instead.

I feel that 3rd party support is starting to get there but right now is a bit disappointing. Not particularly surprising considering the reports about Nintendo being very stingy about devkits though.

Putting the huge Key Card issue to the side, for the games themselves I was hoping for events like SGF/Gamescom/Xbox showcases to be big sources of Switch 2 announcements but there wasn't even a big 3rd party presence in the September general Direct.

The 1st party side of things was the highlight for me, especially DK Bananza but MK World was also a load of fun.

Seems like a nice way to end a strong Fall/Holiday season for Switch 1. I will say though, it's sad knowing that this is likely the final one.

@Tarolusa I was specifically referring towards this week's announcements because it's unusual for Nintendo to make 1st party announcements on the week a new already announced 1st party game releases. It seems like Age of Imprisonment was treated as a necessary sacrifice much like DKC Returns HD was back in January.

Prime 4 trailer, Air Riders overview trailer and Legends Z-A DLC trailer all on Age of Imprisonment's release week is crazy.

@GrailUK Acquisition sprees always go too far so if this news is an indication of an acquisition spree then I think at some point Nintendo will be offered the opportunity to acquire a big multiplatform studio/publisher and they accept.

If Microsoft didn't acquire Bethesda and Activision (especially Activision), I doubt they'd be porting everything to PS5. Similarly if Sony didn't acquire Bungie, I doubt they'd be doing ports like Helldivers 2 for Xbox.

If that's their plan I think we'll be seeing Nintendo exclusives on PC, maybe even PS6 during the Switch 2 lifespan. We saw how much Microsoft and Sony's acquisition sprees pushed them towards being 3rd party publishers.

While it would clash with Prime 4, my guess is December release mirroring the release timing of the Indigo Disk DLC.

It doesn't feel like it so maybe this is a tease for unannounced stuff with some kind of event like the Game Awards opening the floodgates for 3rd party announcements.

Really excited for Prime 4 and I'd say this trailer is probably the best of the trailers so far.

I didn't expect Nintendo to handle stock as well as they did. You can say that you're going to deal with the scalper problem but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll succeed especially with the norm for console launches being plenty of stock issues.

With how much momentum the MK World bundle has created, I wonder if Nintendo decides to just keep it in rotation indefinitely.

@rjejr I agree it's unlikely (I think most likely source of the Galaxy movie trailer is a Galaxy movie Direct like what they did with the 2023 movie), it just would be nice for the Prime 4 info drought to end soon. As for Age of Imprisonment, at least reviews are coming tomorrow or Wednesday.

It would be really neat if they did a general Direct next week which featured this alongside other stuff like 10+ minutes of Prime 4 gameplay.

MK World and Titanic Scion. Pretty much just waiting for the next Prime 4 news so I can fit in Prime 2 and 3 playthroughs before Prime 4 launch.

Surprised the life sims aren't being spread out. In the 1st half of 2026 it looks like the 1st party lineup is 3 life sims (1 Switch 2 edition, 2 new games), 2 2D platformers (1 Switch 2 edition, 1 new game), a sports game and an esports game which isn't much variety.
