@mza115 I hear you on that one. I picked up Everspace on the Switch not long ago when it was super discounted. It took a little while for it to "click" with me but once it did it's all I'm playing. I FINALLY got to Sector 7 yesterday but got my @ss handed to me so now I'm back to the start
I'm still so bitter about what Gearbox pulled with Aliens Colonial Marines they could be sold to Albanian slave traders (like in the movie "Taken") for all I care.
I had to get one. This will go great with my Super Nintendo World tote bag I just picked up at Universal last weekend. They got a lot of money out of me all right. I bought t-shirts, mugs, sign for the garage, key chains, and a I.D. holder for work. That should all hold me over for awhile.
Yeah this definitely opens the floodgates as to what IP you could use this concept on. I could easily see a Batman DLC where you're cleaning various Batmobiles and areas of the Bat Cave. If they get the Star Wars rights you have a long list of ships to clean. It's going to be very interesting if they continue to find success with these crossovers as what they go after.
Don't forget the movies "Young Guns" and its sequel. I know I know they lean way into the embellished side of old West stories but dammit they're entertaining and the actors were good! Also, I really enjoyed "Call of Juarez Gunslinger" on the Switch.
As someone already mentioned you have to at least throw in "Blazing Saddles"
As some have said I'm really hoping for a SNES Super Star Wars Trilogy release. I owned and played those 3 games so much growing up. I played a lot of the NES, SNES, and Game Boy Star Wars games. It would be amazing if they copied the TMNT Cowabunga Collection and released all those early 90's home console games in a collection of some sort. Just like the TMNT collection also include bonus art, goodies, and optional 'enhancements' because some of those games were really freaking hard and unforgiving.
This is exciting news. I only was able to complete Turok 2 with the Remaster. Back in the N64 era that game was a nightmare for me. I would always get so hopelessly lost and saves were few and far between. I loved Turok 1 but Turok 2 got put to the side (loved the black cartridge though).
I never played Turok 3 because I believe by that time I was really getting into online PC gaming with Unreal and Aliens vs Predator games. I may have to put this one on the backlog list. There's too much coming out for Switch before the end of the year!
I can understand both sides of the argument. These type of releases tend to cause a divide amongst consumers because it comes down to either the product is targeted more for one group or another. In my opinion giving how it's more of a straight port I believe the target audience is someone like me who has never played the game. I'm definitely intrigued and might add it to the never ending backlog list. To be honest the Switch has provided so many opportunities to play older games it's been a blast playing them (Call of Juarez Gunslinger is a perfect example for me. That was a straight port and I had such a blast with it). I do understand the price point being a tad high for a straight port but costs across the board have gone up.
As for the lack of multiplayer I understand why it's not included. Many people don't realize how expensive it is to run servers. Unless the money keeps rolling in its a money hemorrhage that isn't sustainable. Especially nowadays where online playerbases are so fickle and unreliable. I'm sure within the first month of release there will be some players but by 2-3 months later it will be dead (no pun intended). They know majority will go back to their Fortnites, Apex Legends, Call of Duty's or whatever online game and never look back. Especially on the Switch online communities are few and far between unless it's a Mario Kart, Smash, MH Rise, etc. tier game.
It's pretty simple to me. Either buy it or don't. There's plenty of other games to play. We all have endless backlogs that need attention anyways (I just added like 3 more in the last week or so ).
Whenever I see these old 'beat-em-ups' get re-released they just keep reminding me how badly I want the Aliens and Aliens vs Predator arcade 'beat-em-ups' from the early 90's to get the same re-release. Sadly, I'm very confident that they will join the long list of forever being locked behind rights issues for eternity Whoever wins, we lose.
The gameplay in the trailer to me was like seeing what happens when you combine the gameplay of Donkey Kong 64 with the 2005 game The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction.
The Switch allowed me to catch up on Devil May Cry 1 and 3. Both of those games originally I banished to the "The One(s) that got Away" list but to my surprise I was able to actually finally get to them! If you would have told me years ago I would have been able to play them on a Nintendo console I wouldn't have believed it. Keep them coming, please!
I wasn't expecting them to quadruple down on Kobe for the next game. He seems like low hanging fruit to me at this point. Being that Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has really become a big name I expected him to be more in the spotlight giving what a star he was during this last post season.
Also, I've been out of sports games for so long when I see all that virtual currency, promo packs, boost stuff, points, etc. whenever the next game is coming I get so confused. Is it no longer about just turning on the game and playing a match? Between this, Madden, various soccer games it seems like all that jazz is pushed to the forefront way before just straight up playing a game of winning or losing match.
Please Nintendo the one track I want is N64 Bowser's Castle. I can only imagine what a refresh of it would look like! That track was one of the top tracks played in my household during that N64 era.
@Serpenterror You got a point. The more I think about it all these games that utilize a bathroom makes me wonder if there's some poetic meaning behind it. Us humans spend a lot of life in the bathroom. Whatever we're doing in life one way or another we depend on a bathroom. Anytime I do anything like going to a concert, professional sporting event, etc. one of the first things I do is scope out the location and ease of getting to the bathroom
As many have already said this game needs to be ported to Switch. Especially how deep the weapon and multiplayer system was it would easily be my main game. Again!
@N64-ROX When I saw that one I could not believe it was a real game of any means. I kept thinking it had to be some joke by an eShop intern or something because no way I could imagine a team of individuals actually making that game.
@cammers1995 Exactly! When I see them on the eShop after I stop laughing, I seriously wonder to myself, "is there any human being out there actually forking over money to these?". The titles of so many of them are just unbelievable. It's like they took it from the one sentence description of the game and forgot to actually make a real name during its "development".
It's games like this that really make me miss the days of Blockbuster Video. It was a guilty pleasure of mine to rent those random highly likely crappy games on a Friday or especially during an extended holiday weekend (and summer). I'd do it more when I was in between games. There was something fun about looking at the back of the box on the shelf (or previews/reviews from a gaming magazine) and seeing how horrible the game looked. Sometimes I'd be like "looks bad but it could be one of those it's so bad it's good games".
My best friend and I back in those days would load up on many games like that during sleep overs. If it had multiplayer of any kind we made it fun one way or another. Some of those crappy games we still talk about today how bad they were yet we had fun with the multiplayer because it was just so bonkers We had some super late night multiplayer sessions with those bad games.
@dacangri12 Oh I totally agree with you. Game development takes years so I'm sure the decision to go all on him was made back then. You're right about how it should be about profits. Just look at the movie and TV industry. For the last couple of years they went all in on ideologies and all that jazz instead of actually making money a priority. It was all fine and dandy when there was plenty of money in the bank to support it, but holy hell aren't they all in a huge financial crisis. Who would have thought going for social media clout, "likes", retweets, chasing off your target audience/actual paying fanbase wouldn't be so profitable? LOL
Now that I'm as caught up as I care to be with Sunbreak it's time to start tackling that backlog (if work allows me to). I finished Metroid Prime Remastered last week. Such an awesome game and upgrade. Now I'm onto a boomer shooter Prodeus. It's pretty good. Not amazing or breaking new ground for me. Just pretty good. At times it's really fun and then there are "it's alright" moments.
Once I finish that one I can't decide whether to start Sifu, Remnant From The Ashes, or Bayonetta Origins next. I've also had MK11 Ultimate backlogged for a long time but for whatever reason I can't get myself motivated to get it started.
It's done on purpose. The dude is a low hanging fruit lightning rod. Yeah it may turn some off but at the same time it will at least get the conversation going easily. I'm sure the developers/publisher could care less about anything of his actual career and/or political ideologies. When Companies make these choices it's all calculated so I wouldn't trip on it and give them that satisfaction. Just my two cents.
Back on topic when I see these newer arcade sport games it just makes me miss the days of N64 NFL Blitz/2000, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey, and NBA Hangtime. Maybe I'm too much of a "get off my lawn" type but I don't believe those games can ever be properly reproduced again today.
LOL I have no idea what I just watched. I don't understand any hoopla about it. I'm a firm believer in that fact that money talks. If it reviews well and sells well then good for it. If not then better luck next time and make a better product while you're at it.
Every time I see the headline of new Genesis games being released for the service I get all excited for the possibility of Skitchin' or General Chaos. I know they're most likely never will see the light of day again but I can dream. A lot of you seem to be really happy with this drop so I'm glad for you.
@The_Pixel_King I’m all for 3DS remake/remasters on Switch. Kid Icarus: Uprising next, please!
Took the words right out of my mouth! I mentioned this game on the announcement article yesterday about the coming Direct. With this release I'm so hoping they consider Uprising!
To throw another curveball I'm hoping for a Switch HD re-release of Kid Icarus Uprising. That game's weapon mechanics, gameplay and especially multiplayer is too damn good to be lost forever in the 3DS side of the world. I just can't accept that Masahiro Sakurai will be spending the rest of his days being a YouTuber. I'm confident he's still got enough lead in the pencil to get that game updated on Switch if Nintendo wants it done.
I'm going to throw a huge curveball and say being summer season I'm hoping for anything of a new Wave Race and/or a HD re-release of Wave Race Blue Storm I loved that one! C'mon Nintendo, make my day with the ultimate unexpected surprise!
I may have to keep my eye on this. Looks like a super fun kickback game. I miss that old school arcade style sports games.
There was a time in our household arcade style sports games dominated. Especially during the N64 era. At any given time we would be all over NFL Blitz/Blitz 2000, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, and most especially NBA Hangtime. So unfortunate pretty much that genre nowadays is nonexistent in mainstream because those games were very popular at the time.
Put so many hours into this on the Switch. It was one of the best kick back and just have a blast games I've played in a long time. Especially on a day off and boozing. Unfortunately I had to part with it when the servers shut down. The peer to peer matchmaking made the online virtually unplayable. I have so many good memories of being Jason and a counselor. Win or lose it was still so much fun. R.I.P.
With all the various Kirby games they keep releasing on the service it's starting to baffle me why they haven't released Kirby's Pinball Land yet. That one to me seemed like a for sure release by now. That game used to create intense high score rivalries amongst my brothers. That game was also a very kick back and chill time killer back in the day.
Yeah this is by far one of my favorite ads. As many have already said its relatable to many of us older gamers. I often feel like I'm constantly grinding to just get a handful of moments a week to get in some gaming time. Good one, Nintendo!
I'm very surprised with the ambition and full speed ahead approach with this business model in today's conditions. I mean 'live service' games are struggling and shutting down left and right. I get this IP has more weight behind it, but I'm baffled they're going all in with the marketing style. In one way you could appreciate them being very open about what you'll be getting into but on another way it's quite ambitious to automatically expect consumers to hook their credit cards on file and go nuts. I don't support this practice at all but at least you'll know upfront what's going on. I don't see this lasting longer than the usual 1.5 - 2 years lifespan with the expected social media post from the developers thanking the "community" for the support but unfortunately it's shutting down. In other words "we got your money and now is the best time to peace out so we can come up with the next venture to do it all again! Suckers!"
I will probably sound like a big, whiny baby but this whole MK "anniversary" celebration was a total bust. I think I let my imagination run a little too wild because I for whatever reason got all hyped up for a possible MK Trilogy remaster or something along those lines. It's my fault though I bought into everyone's hopes and dreams for the possibility of the classic games being revamped I forgot to notice the small fact that absolutely nothing was officially announced.
By far the best representation on the subject. I'll never forget that time period in my life because I remember physically feeling my heart hurting when it all came to light.
The only silver lining of that experience is that it really helped prepare me for future marketing/hype by Companies and keep myself in check. A very "wait and see" or "I'll believe it when I see it" approach to virtually everything gaming since then. And believe me it's paid off more times than I'd like to admit.
The first person parts in the SNES Jurassic Park used to scare the hell out of me. I had a hard time just watching my brother play those parts let alone myself doing it. The music for those parts was so dark and moody for its time. Honestly, I don't think I could do it now because even watching it on YouTube gives me a slight chill. I'm such a wuss
I love this game and still regularly play it. However, as some have said since there are already a few Kirby themes I was looking forward to more variety. As we know a game's music can really add some spice to Tetris 99 so with games like Bayonetta 3, Astral Chain (especially in my opinion!), Metroid Prime (yeah I know there's already a Dread theme), and Doom 2016/Eternal are good examples I see lots of potential for fun themes. At first, I thought there would only be Nintendo system/first party exclusive themes however with the Monster Hunter Rise theme that opened the door to all sorts of possibilities in my mind.
Nothing against Kirby I'm happy for all the Kirby fans swimming in their fandom. I just believe there's all sorts of potential for good themes of a bigger variety instead of multiples of the same subject matter. Oh well it's not the biggest deal. Just my 2 cents.
I understand this very well. This dude breached a confidentiality agreement that many Companies (depending on the industry) have you sign when you start.
Perfect example is me. I work for a certain major Corporation who's mascot is a certain rodent (mouse). I signed (and every few months have to resign) confidentiality agreement(s) when it comes to unnannounced projects, exclusive sneak previews, etc. in regards to anything that hasn't officially been announced to the public (and even if it already has in some cases). If you break any of that in any fashion you are hunted down, terminated and pretty much guaranteed you will never work for that Company ever again. This Company I work for even has a dedicated department that handles all that. When we get granted exclusive previews of new attractions and/or lands/experiences our phones are put into a sealed pouch in front of Security and opened afterward in front of Security. Even taking a selfie backstage can get you canned. So yeah, I get it this was all on the dude. If anything Nintendo was just ensuring that Gamestop held up their end of the confidentiality agreement so they can hold them accountable for future releases.
I know its comparing apples to oranges with these games, however still to this day I'm still waiting for a proper follow up to the 2001 PC game Aliens vs Predator 2 from Monolith Productions. That game was everything and all things Aliens to me in regards to single player campaign and most especially the chaotic multiplayer. It will never be re-released and/or remastered due to by far the worst licensing hell of a rabbit hole but since that game nothing has come close to that experience. My peak Aliens/Predator time of life.
Back on topic cloud gaming can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.
It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Entertaining and fun. I don't need it to reinvent the wheel. They did good with what they had to work with.
The content of Mario they can pull from spans decades so its not possible to put EVERYTHING in to satisfy all. Quick example for me is I was hoping there would be a haunted house/Boo part of the movie where Boos are chasing the characters around (and playing their awesome music from Galaxy) but all I got was a cameo of King Boo. I get it they can only do so much so I was fine with at least an acknowledgement of the Boos in some form. What they were able to cram in there must have been after hundreds of hours of meetings with the creative team(s) and coming to a middle ground agreement must have been a nightmare.
Overall what they were able to accomplish is a miracle at the same time keeping it entertaining while paying homage to the source material. Kudos, Nintendo and Universal!
I'm totally fine with this movie for as long as they want to prop it up. Take the time and don't over dilute it so fast. As some have mentioned nowadays many Companies when they have a "hit" of whatever the IP is they immediately start announcing more movies, spin off shows, prequels, books etc. or whatever to ride the wave. What makes it worse is they announce all this stuff without any actual plans in place. They just want to appease the shareholders that there's guaranteed more money incoming for years to come based on this initial success. However, doing that in my opinion dilutes the brand and I actually lose interest because now I'm expecting that usual cannon fodder of content before the next actual "good" product to get excited for. Even then though when that happens my attention span is usually elsewhere. That's just my take.
As someone already said the whole Marvel thing has programmed consumers to not enjoy the now as much as to be more hungry for everything else coming after to so it can all eventually connect together for a (big) event.
Wow now this takes me way back. That Samus poster came packaged with the game and it was a cool surprise to little me back then. Of course I lost it although I always suspected one of my older brothers hid it from me cause they liked to do that to my stuff all the time. LOL I think I even scribbled a 'missing with reward' poster and put it on the fridge. I'll definitely grab one if they make it available in the NA so I can be finally reunited with it after almost 30 years
C'mon, Nintendo! If there are any more Kirby games in the pipeline be sure to add Kirby's Pinball Land. That game used to have all my brothers and I fight over my Game Boy to compete for high scores! Surprisingly so good!
Now that looks like an anxiety inducing experience alright. They should put a warning on the game about anyone with a heart condition to play at your own risk
@jump yeah or even have a boss named "Mr. Brownstone" or a level called "Pretty Tied Up".
Had my pass holder preview last week and had a blast in there. They let us in early to get a head start before it got busier, too. Cannot wait to go back

Well I'm sure even Stevie Wonder saw that coming.
Re: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Makes The Jump From 3DS To Switch In 2024
@The_Pixel_King I’m all for 3DS remake/remasters on Switch. Kid Icarus: Uprising next, please!
Took the words right out of my mouth! I mentioned this game on the announcement article yesterday about the coming Direct. With this release I'm so hoping they consider Uprising!
Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow, 21st June
To throw another curveball I'm hoping for a Switch HD re-release of Kid Icarus Uprising. That game's weapon mechanics, gameplay and especially multiplayer is too damn good to be lost forever in the 3DS side of the world. I just can't accept that Masahiro Sakurai will be spending the rest of his days being a YouTuber. I'm confident he's still got enough lead in the pencil to get that game updated on Switch if Nintendo wants it done.
Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow, 21st June
I'm going to throw a huge curveball and say being summer season I'm hoping for anything of a new Wave Race and/or a HD re-release of Wave Race Blue Storm I loved that one! C'mon Nintendo, make my day with the ultimate unexpected surprise!
Re: Legend Bowl Is Bringing More Arcade-Inspired American Football To Switch This Summer
Re: Friday 13th: The Game License Expires This December, Will Be Delisted
Put so many hours into this on the Switch. It was one of the best kick back and just have a blast games I've played in a long time. Especially on a day off and boozing. Unfortunately I had to part with it when the servers shut down. The peer to peer matchmaking made the online virtually unplayable. I have so many good memories of being Jason and a counselor. Win or lose it was still so much fun. R.I.P.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Color, SNES & NES Library With Four More Titles
Re: Nintendo's Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom TV Ad Might Be Its Best One Ever
Yeah this is by far one of my favorite ads. As many have already said its relatable to many of us older gamers. I often feel like I'm constantly grinding to just get a handful of moments a week to get in some gaming time. Good one, Nintendo!
Re: LEGO 2K Drive Outlines Year One Seasons And 'Premium Drive Pass' Rewards
Suckers!"
Re: Mortal Kombat 12 Teased By NetherRealm In 30th Anniversary Video
I will probably sound like a big, whiny baby but this whole MK "anniversary" celebration was a total bust. I think I let my imagination run a little too wild because I for whatever reason got all hyped up for a possible MK Trilogy remaster or something along those lines. It's my fault though I bought into everyone's hopes and dreams for the possibility of the classic games being revamped I forgot to notice the small fact that absolutely nothing was officially announced.
Re: Random: Sakurai's Latest Video Implores Publishers Not To Mislead Players
@MegaMari0 Aliens: colonial marines.
Re: The Jurassic Park Games Are Getting A 30th Anniversary Retro Collection
The first person parts in the SNES Jurassic Park used to scare the hell out of me. I had a hard time just watching my brother play those parts let alone myself doing it. The music for those parts was so dark and moody for its time. Honestly, I don't think I could do it now because even watching it on YouTube gives me a slight chill. I'm such a wuss
Re: Four Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
Still waiting for Skitchin' and General Chaos. Those 2 alone will be worth the price of admission any day of the week for me!
Re: Unlock A Special Kirby Theme In Tetris 99 This Weekend
Re: GameStop Fires Employee For Leaking Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Switch
Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite Is Coming To Switch, But It's A Cloud Version
I know its comparing apples to oranges with these games, however still to this day I'm still waiting for a proper follow up to the 2001 PC game Aliens vs Predator 2 from Monolith Productions. That game was everything and all things Aliens to me in regards to single player campaign and most especially the chaotic multiplayer. It will never be re-released and/or remastered due to by far the worst licensing hell of a rabbit hole but since that game nothing has come close to that experience. My peak Aliens/Predator time of life.
Back on topic cloud gaming can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.
Would you like a cookie, son?
Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give To The Super Mario Bros. Movie?
Re: Miyamoto Talks About Other Nintendo Movies, Says There's "Probably Nothing To Announce In The Near Future"
Re: These Game Boy Posters Are Up For Grabs At My Nintendo Store (Europe)
Wow now this takes me way back. That Samus poster came packaged with the game and it was a cool surprise to little me back then. Of course I lost it although I always suspected one of my older brothers hid it from me cause they liked to do that to my stuff all the time. LOL I think I even scribbled a 'missing with reward' poster and put it on the fridge. I'll definitely grab one if they make it available in the NA so I can be finally reunited with it after almost 30 years
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online Game Boy, SNES & NES Service With Four More Titles
C'mon, Nintendo! If there are any more Kirby games in the pipeline be sure to add Kirby's Pinball Land. That game used to have all my brothers and I fight over my Game Boy to compete for high scores! Surprisingly so good!
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 Launches Next Week
For me N64 Bowser's Castle will be worth the price of admission alone if it happens. C'mon, Nintendo, make it so!
Re: 'Guns N' Runs' Is A Chaotic Pixel Art Platformer That Demands Precision
Now that looks like an anxiety inducing experience alright. They should put a warning on the game about anyone with a heart condition to play at your own risk
@jump yeah or even have a boss named "Mr. Brownstone" or a level called "Pretty Tied Up".

Re: Gallery: The Stunning Sights Of Super Nintendo World In Hollywood
Had my pass holder preview last week and had a blast in there. They let us in early to get a head start before it got busier, too. Cannot wait to go back
