My gaming time will be a mixed bag between having to work and Christmas festivities (and boozing!). Whatever Switch gaming I can squeeze in it will be a mix between Hades and Hogwarts Legacy. I picked up Hogwarts on a discount and it has completely absorbed me into its world. Did not expect that and I'm not even a big Potter fan. Just seen the movies and frequent Universal Hollywood being a pass member. This game could seriously make visiting the land at Universal mean a lot more than it used to .

@JohnnyMind I gotta be honest reading your post gave me mad anxiety. How do you manage all those games?? I stress out just splitting my time between 2 games. For example right now it's bugging me that right before I picked up Hogwarts I was splitting between Hades and Company of Heroes Collection. I beat the main campaign of CoH and started one of the expansions but now Hogwarts just dominated my attention. LOL it's nagging at me I still have lots to do in CoH but I have to constantly tell myself it's all good I at least did the main campaign and could someday return to finish the rest. I couldn't imagine doing that across many games.

Finally, been waiting for the calendar! All month I've been looking at the 2013 one wondering when they'll release the next one. The ornament will go perfect with our tree. It will go between the previous Xmas Super Mario ornament and my Megadeth ornament

Please keep these events coming. Love this game so much. Wish I had more time to play it but during the pandemic I got real good with it. Even without these events the game itself is nothing less than stellar.

I wish I had more time to play this. I do like it but with my limited time along with my dedication to staying on the backlog I just don't have any time for it

I remember thinking during my time in the 'Golden Era' of gaming (mid 90's to earlier-ish 2000's) what the future of this era is going to be like when it's already this amazing. I never would have thought it's all about live service games, microtransactions, waiting for the 'it's good now' patch, etc. I understand things inevitably change but never could have expected this.

But things can also swing back in unexpected ways. Don't forget there was a short lived era when MMO's were considered the future and there was basically a new one every 3 months. That bubble burst fast and one by one they closed down and/or became F2P but eventually died for good. I believe the era of Battle Royals is coming close to bursting if it hasn't already. There will always be a few remain but so many have come and gone just in the last 3 years alone.

I don't know maybe I'm overthinking it and going way out in left field on the subject. I've seen so many trends come and go but I have to admit this era of live service, nickel and diming, hard push on quick dopamine hits does have me a bit worried this might be here for the longer haul. At least as long as Nintendo stays the course and indie studies keep pumping out bangers that remind us older gamers why we got into this in the first place I think we'll be alright (games like Hades and Everspace have recently reminded me there's still game makers out there that are on our side).

@ChameleonBros Ken Griffey 64 was pretty good but our household were more into the All Star Baseball/2000 games from Acclaim (I think?). We preferred that one because it had a more 'realistic' approach to baseball and the graphics for its time were mind blowing.

I forgot about Internation Superstar Soccer! We rented that one a lot but Fifa Road to World Cup 98 was our real jam

Ah Tecmo Bowl My brothers and I played the hell out of Tecmo Super Bowl 3 for SNES. Seriously we'd play for many hours especially when we had friends over. There was something to that game that was just so fun football!

Sadly those days/games will never happen again.

Yes exactly what @ozwally just said CoH Collection NEEDS to be added. I'm in the middle of it right now and it's a blast. Had it back in the day however I only played the multiplayer so it's freaking cool that having it on Switch has allowed me to play the campaign. The controls are taking me a little more time to get used to however the more I play the better I'm appreciating what they came up with to make it work best. Good stuff!

If it ain't running 60 fps and/or dips below that at any time it's a hard pass for me. Oh well guess I'll have to wait till Switch 2 and maybe I'll give it a look.

I know this will never happen but it would be so freaking awesome if they could ever release sports games like Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey and NFL Blitz/2000 or even NBA Hangtime. I was addicted to those games during that era and it totally sucks due to the licensing and player likeness issues they'll never be released ever again

It's unfortunate they can't figure out some way to essentially strip these games of all that stuff and release them with generic teams, no name players and just keep the colors.

This freaking game keeps moving up and down my backlog. Multiple times it's on deck taking practice swings then something else comes out of nowhere and knocks it back a little. It was going to be next after I take a break from Hades (I'll probably never fully stop playing that it's so damn fun) but Company Of Heroes Collection pulled just ahead of it so now I just started that. To make it worse I'm starting to feel a pull towards Hogwart's Legacy next...maybe I should just grab this while it's on this super sale and let it stare me down from the line. There's just too much to play!

On my Switch I've been going back and forth between Hades and Company of Heroes Collection. I've rolled the credits in Hades already but it's just so freaking fun to keep playing with different weapons and boon loadouts. On top of continually advancing the story of the characters. It's so damn fun! Company of Heroes can take up more time so I'm hoping to get deeper into that this weekend. Of course if I don't boot up Hades first then CoH will sit at the sidelines staring me down ;-P Again.

After I read the article I had a mouthful to say but it looks like pretty much all of you hit the nail on the head of what I had to say. So many of you made good points! This is unfortunately the route of gaming for as long as there's profits to be made from it. After 100% Everspace and now I'm all over Hades those games have really given me hope that there's still old school developers out there that just want to make the best game for the consumer. All bells and whistles included in one price! (Yeah I'm aware Everspace had DLC but I got the Stellar Edition Switch for dirt cheap ) I can only imagine if Hades was the standard for game content and fun factor.

To me this feels like they're talking directly to the investors and trying to stir up future excitement. I've noticed more and more Companies in the entertainment industry are doing this to boost the stock price a little but as time goes on a lot of "announcements" made don't come to fruition. Or at least they partially do but in no way close to what was originally stated. LOL Disney is a great example of that strategy.

I really wanted N64 Bowser's Castle the most. Oh well what we got was really good and many were satisfied with what was given.

These practices will continue on as long as they can get away with it. Even if they're not game changing purchases they will keep figuring out ways to dangle the carrots. They will only ever "walk it back" when you get a revolution like what happened with Battlefront 2 a few years back. It hit them in the wallet directly so they had to do something to save face. Otherwise nothing would have changed and they'll just keep at it.

Oh great another one to add to the backlog list If I remember correctly I played this a lot back in the day however I just played the multiplayer with a friend. He was a huge fan of it and we used to spend endless hours playing C&C Red Alert together (old school linking 2 Playstations with 2 TVs!). I always wanted to play the campaign because I heard it was real good so this may give me that opportunity. There's just too many damn games on my backlog AND coming out before year's end.

Yeah that ain't happening. They're in the process of a yard sale with all the money hemorrhaging that's happening in virtually every sector of Disney's businesses. If anything I'm sure it may have been talked about amongst the executives but in reality they already hit the iceberg and taking in too much water currently.

Hell yeah I remember that game! That one was a rotating weekend and summer Blockbuster Video (or in same cases Smith's Store) game rental. I say rotating because I'm sure you remember back then parents (at least mine) were more forgiving for renting games than buying full price games (unless it was a Xmas or birthday gift specifically). So my brothers and I had a system for certain games were rented often and some we wanted purchased for a gift (like a Mario Kart tier game).

As for the quote, yes I can happily confirm my brothers and I STILL use it to this very day (I'm 39 and they're in their mid 40s). We use it for pretty much everything we feel it can apply it to. And in some cases it makes no freaking sense to whatever scenario we quote it but it just hits the mark

Gotta love how they took swing for at the plate with the greedy bat and totally struck out! I'd love to have been a fly on that wall when they made the decision AND when they reconvened to figure out how to essentially "unf*ck" the situation.

I'm that lost soldier in the jungle that is still asking for Randy Pitchford's head on stick after what went down with Aliens Colonial Marines! The deep wounds may have healed but oh boy do the scars remain!

Games like this seriously make me miss my years of N64 NFL Blitz/2000. Like I was with NBA Hangtime I played the hell out of those games and ruled! We'll never get those games/times again unfortunately. We'll only get 'spiritual successor' games and/or "it's kinda like Blitz" experiences. Oh well.

Yeah on a side note like I've mentioned before on a previous post on this game using Kapernick was totally done on purpose to whack the beehive. It gets the game attention and even websites like this one will benefit some because it will generate traffic for ad revenue (which the rates are currently WAY down hence expect more clickbait articles from all the usual clickbait farms).

This was just going to go straight to the backlog anyways. As others have said I'm totally fine with the delay as long as it plays good.

I really enjoyed it on Switch. Didn't reinvent the wheel or anything but was mindless fun and that's all I could ask for in games like that. For me it got a lot better in the later levels. I really dug the soundtrack and still listen to it randomly because it just hits so hard. It's funny that it's getting 'Bayonetta' vibes with this DLC because I recently traded this game in to go towards my purchase of "Cereza and the Lost Demon". It's looking like I'll need to get this game again to play the DLC...

Like others have said I got "EVERYTHING all things ever released MK11 (Switch)" on a massive discount for about $26. It's still sitting in my backlog untouched. I'll get around to it eventually. So with that said I plan on doing the same thing for this one.

On a side note what killed my MK hype some was my own doing. Around the time I got MK11 there was rumors floating around that "MK Trilogy" was going to be remastered/remade or whatever for the MK Anniversary. MK Trilogy was my jam on N64!!! I got all dressed up and nowhere to go when we found out that the "Anniversary" was a total bust and the new game was a "reboot" back to 1...starting off from what happened in 11...uhhh ok.

Another Xenoblade theme? I'm kinda surprised I was expecting a F Zero theme or even another Mario theme given the recent Direct. Nothing against Xenoblade it just feels out of left field to me.

This franchise takes up so much of my limited gaming time it's just a nightmare for my backlog. I tried to quite after MHGU and now I find myself saying it again after Sunbreak. I'm starting to make a good dent in the backlog so it's going to take some real leaps and bounds of a next game to get me back in. Rise/Sunbreak was great fun on its own however if that's the style they'll be sticking with going forward then I may be finally able to officially retire.

@Mimochamp Seriously! I made it my goal to now focus on the backlog and stay away from that "main" game that takes up most if not all my little game time (I'm looking at you Monster Hunter Whatever). In the last 4-5 months I've been able to make some progress (emphasis on the word 'some') however the list keeps growing. If feels like I'm battling a hydra dragon. For every game I cross off the list another game (or 2) is added. Right now I've been hooked on Everspace so that's become a surprisingly fun time sink however the list has grown about 3 games since I started it LOL the recent Direct gave me some anxiety knowing it was going to add more to the list.

I see there's talk in regards to which "99" is superior. In my opinion it's really a apples to oranges situation amongst them all. Tetris 99 is a straight up puzzler while Mario 35 was a platformer and Pac Man 99 was whatever you call that. I for one am still absolutely in love in Tetris 99 and still play it frequently. Mario 35 was good but it was more of a slower burn for me. I think it's because with Tetris you NEED to stay on your toes from the beginning to end. At any moment you could get bombarded and need to zero in on intense focus to keep going. For me Mario was very repetitive up until the final number of people then it really got interesting however it took time to get there. I just couldn't get into Pac Man 99. I did give it a good try but it just didn't get its meat hooks into me, so I dropped that pretty quickly.

I need more time with F Zero 99 to see if it will sustain itself with me. So far I see it having the potential however just like what @Coversnail just stated I'd prefer it was more of that "last man standing" style like the other "99" games. Oh well to each their own I guess.

Like I did with MK11 (LOL it's still sitting on my backlog) I'm just going to wait it out and grab EVERYTHING at the inevitable massive discount package. I believe I got Switch MK11 (with ALL DLC and Expansions, etc.) during one of those holiday sales for something like $26.

I can't see how with this one it won't be any different once it runs its course.

@mza115 I hear you on that one. I picked up Everspace on the Switch not long ago when it was super discounted. It took a little while for it to "click" with me but once it did it's all I'm playing. I FINALLY got to Sector 7 yesterday but got my @ss handed to me so now I'm back to the start

I'm still so bitter about what Gearbox pulled with Aliens Colonial Marines they could be sold to Albanian slave traders (like in the movie "Taken") for all I care.

I had to get one. This will go great with my Super Nintendo World tote bag I just picked up at Universal last weekend. They got a lot of money out of me all right. I bought t-shirts, mugs, sign for the garage, key chains, and a I.D. holder for work. That should all hold me over for awhile.

Yeah this definitely opens the floodgates as to what IP you could use this concept on. I could easily see a Batman DLC where you're cleaning various Batmobiles and areas of the Bat Cave. If they get the Star Wars rights you have a long list of ships to clean. It's going to be very interesting if they continue to find success with these crossovers as what they go after.

A Direct dedicated to just 'Wonder'? Also, roughly 15 minutes!? You know what this means? Switch 2 confirmed!

Don't forget the movies "Young Guns" and its sequel. I know I know they lean way into the embellished side of old West stories but dammit they're entertaining and the actors were good! Also, I really enjoyed "Call of Juarez Gunslinger" on the Switch.

As some have said I'm really hoping for a SNES Super Star Wars Trilogy release. I owned and played those 3 games so much growing up. I played a lot of the NES, SNES, and Game Boy Star Wars games. It would be amazing if they copied the TMNT Cowabunga Collection and released all those early 90's home console games in a collection of some sort. Just like the TMNT collection also include bonus art, goodies, and optional 'enhancements' because some of those games were really freaking hard and unforgiving.

This is exciting news. I only was able to complete Turok 2 with the Remaster. Back in the N64 era that game was a nightmare for me. I would always get so hopelessly lost and saves were few and far between. I loved Turok 1 but Turok 2 got put to the side (loved the black cartridge though).

I never played Turok 3 because I believe by that time I was really getting into online PC gaming with Unreal and Aliens vs Predator games. I may have to put this one on the backlog list. There's too much coming out for Switch before the end of the year!

Now when these are reproduced in the future after A.I. takes over these cookies will taste like Tastee Wheat.

I can understand both sides of the argument. These type of releases tend to cause a divide amongst consumers because it comes down to either the product is targeted more for one group or another. In my opinion giving how it's more of a straight port I believe the target audience is someone like me who has never played the game. I'm definitely intrigued and might add it to the never ending backlog list. To be honest the Switch has provided so many opportunities to play older games it's been a blast playing them (Call of Juarez Gunslinger is a perfect example for me. That was a straight port and I had such a blast with it). I do understand the price point being a tad high for a straight port but costs across the board have gone up.

As for the lack of multiplayer I understand why it's not included. Many people don't realize how expensive it is to run servers. Unless the money keeps rolling in its a money hemorrhage that isn't sustainable. Especially nowadays where online playerbases are so fickle and unreliable. I'm sure within the first month of release there will be some players but by 2-3 months later it will be dead (no pun intended). They know majority will go back to their Fortnites, Apex Legends, Call of Duty's or whatever online game and never look back. Especially on the Switch online communities are few and far between unless it's a Mario Kart, Smash, MH Rise, etc. tier game.

It's pretty simple to me. Either buy it or don't. There's plenty of other games to play. We all have endless backlogs that need attention anyways (I just added like 3 more in the last week or so ).

Whenever I see these old 'beat-em-ups' get re-released they just keep reminding me how badly I want the Aliens and Aliens vs Predator arcade 'beat-em-ups' from the early 90's to get the same re-release. Sadly, I'm very confident that they will join the long list of forever being locked behind rights issues for eternity Whoever wins, we lose.

The gameplay in the trailer to me was like seeing what happens when you combine the gameplay of Donkey Kong 64 with the 2005 game The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction.

The Switch allowed me to catch up on Devil May Cry 1 and 3. Both of those games originally I banished to the "The One(s) that got Away" list but to my surprise I was able to actually finally get to them! If you would have told me years ago I would have been able to play them on a Nintendo console I wouldn't have believed it. Keep them coming, please!

A couple of things.

I wasn't expecting them to quadruple down on Kobe for the next game. He seems like low hanging fruit to me at this point. Being that Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has really become a big name I expected him to be more in the spotlight giving what a star he was during this last post season.

Also, I've been out of sports games for so long when I see all that virtual currency, promo packs, boost stuff, points, etc. whenever the next game is coming I get so confused. Is it no longer about just turning on the game and playing a match? Between this, Madden, various soccer games it seems like all that jazz is pushed to the forefront way before just straight up playing a game of winning or losing match.

Please Nintendo the one track I want is N64 Bowser's Castle. I can only imagine what a refresh of it would look like! That track was one of the top tracks played in my household during that N64 era.

@Serpenterror You got a point. The more I think about it all these games that utilize a bathroom makes me wonder if there's some poetic meaning behind it. Us humans spend a lot of life in the bathroom. Whatever we're doing in life one way or another we depend on a bathroom. Anytime I do anything like going to a concert, professional sporting event, etc. one of the first things I do is scope out the location and ease of getting to the bathroom

As many have already said this game needs to be ported to Switch. Especially how deep the weapon and multiplayer system was it would easily be my main game. Again!

@N64-ROX When I saw that one I could not believe it was a real game of any means. I kept thinking it had to be some joke by an eShop intern or something because no way I could imagine a team of individuals actually making that game.
