@UpsideDownRowlet agreed, with this machine theres no reason to own a playstation or xbox anymore, since all those games are on steam.

Nintendo was a last defender of physical games. People like that stuff. Why arent they allowed to complain about what theyre going to miss?

@liljmoore 4 main reasons what’s wrong with them:

• takes storage on your switch 2
• takes time to download
• you will need the card inserted
• two things that can break: the card or the server. When either of these two fails it will leave you without the ability to play the game.

@LazyDaisy well, imo it has changed with Fire Emblem Heroes and Engage (and a bit with Tokyo Mirage Sessions, though that’s a spinoff).

I don’t like how the cool and thought provoking Fire Emblem series is turning into anime or waifu gotcha games.

For the lowest price of a gaming pc, on which games most of the time run much worse. Heck, stuff like Borderlands 4 is not even optimized well on PS5.

Also, CoD is coming because Microsoft is legally obligated to bring it to Nintendo’s platform.

This years lineup is way more stacked than 2017’s lineup.

By december we will have 4 big Nintendo published exclusives (DK, Mario Kart World, Kirby, Hyrule Warriors), 2 very large cross-gen Nintendo published games (Mario Galaxy 1+2, Metroid Prime 4), a bunch of indie darlings (Undertale, Hades II, Silksong, to name a few) and a ton of 3d party support. Yes, its missing a new mainline Mario game or a mainline Zelda game, but it gets a new mainline DK, a new Mario Kart, a new Metroid in return. And great performing 3d party games. And backwards compatibility.

Switch 2 is a dream come true for me thus far.

The whole list consists of very safe bets.

I could earn money making those kind of lists too?

@JimNorman question, since there are multiple versions of Overcooked, does this upgrade work with the ‘all you can eat’ version, as far as you know? And does it work for Overcooked 1 then too, or just 2?

I agree. It became incredibly apparent to me once i went from BotW back to Skyrim. The latter just feels… very clunky indeed as @jfp has mentioned already. Nintendo’s games just feel polished, especially Mario, Metroid and Zelda. (No, pokemon doesn’t)

Love my switch 2, but as others said, mainly to play switch 1 games better. Liked DK Bananza, liked Age of Calamity and how it ran, and am currently playing…. Mario 64 😅 which I never completed before going to Galaxy, Metroid Prime 4 (day 1!), Zelda TotK, Age of Imprisonment and thén 3d party stuff like Final Fantasy VII Remake. Great to have all these options on one system! The ultimate one imo.

I can confirm. But there’s still a lot of ports that need to be made to a Nintendo system. And the main missing genre are first person shooters. The only ones I can think of with a switch 2 build are Fortnite and Apex Legends, with Warframe coming next year.

I made a list for directs (sort of a wishlist), games that have not been released on Nintendo systems, but should be able to run on Switch 2. I think most of these will be released in batches in the next two years and new games will release day and date (or at least close). It’s a gamble which one will be announced when.

Got to finish TotK first! Which I’ll do in a few weeks time on my switch 2. Then this game early next year, honestly can’t wait after this review!

@emayekayee what? First year had Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Arms, ton of 3d party ports, ton of indie exclusives and portability. Ton of reasons to buy one . And 2018 was stacked too.

It’s just a Splatoon 2 situation. There will be a new entry in three years.

@johnedwin a compromise is not an ‘issue’.

Also, the delay is due to feedback received during live demos. Games always need time in the oven, and FromSoftware probably thought that was all they could do. However, they have now seen that they can optimize the game further, based on all the other 3d party games that run very well on Switch 2.

3d party games on the switch 1 had issues to run well. Games do run well on switch 2 though. No issues there.
