Re: Street Fighter 6 For Switch 2 Is Going For Cheap On Amazon Right Now (UK)

@Gohanjin i can buy the physical xbox version from amazon right now for 23 pounds. And the dlc has been as low as 12 pounds according to deku deals. Also, cyberpunk 2077 has the same price for where I live and that does include all data on the cardridge and also the dlc.

Sorry mate, they could have been but they are not per se cheaper than what could have been with a full physical game.

Also: capcom is always scamming with their physical releases. Mega man legacy collection gives you only a few games on the cardridge, the rest you still have to download. Games from the NES/SNES…. Same with all their collection releases on Switch. They want you to double dip or at least be dependent on them.

@Kyloctopus Yes, I agree. Nintendo's identity has always been to 'bring people together' to play games.

GameChat, GameShare and Virtual Game Cardriges are all three new features for the Nintendo audience that require you to interact with others for them to work. And all three have a Nintendo spin on them, like implementing your face directly in mario party.

I'm very curious how this feature will work with Tomodachi life for instance. It would be cool to have Mii's running around with the faces of the players snatched onto them and I can see Nintendo still provide those wacky options.

I don't know what he's talking about.

SNES is an upgraded NES
GBC is an upgraded GB, GBA is an upgraded GBC.
Gamecube is an upgraded N64.

These new wacky experiences may definitely still come. The tech is there for developers to work with.

Nintendo did it loads on the Switch, with for instance Labo, Mario Kart Circuit and all Wario Ware games. They can do that again.

Also, most genre defining games in the last 8 years have been made by Nintendo. I am not able to point out a single totally new experience by the competition, except Elden Ring and maybe Baldur's Gate 3 (though I haven't played that one). And Balatro.

@Oracles_fanboi @johnedwin Nintendo delivers finished software though while Sony is currently still tracing the diabolical live service trend.

Good luck paying monthly fees for most of your games.

I actually think most price hikes of Sony are not due to inflation but due to vastly underperforming live service software sales.

@flummerfelt oh, the absolute horror when your teammate fails to press Z to switch, and then drives you off a cliff…

Btw, for whoever also wonders, I think Nintendo is not going back to the dual mode because it would not be really possible to do online, because of input lag etc. And we know that every mario kart has been online since the wii.

Let’s see how gamecube online will deal with this game in a year or two.

Re: Elden Ring's Switch 2 Physical Version Seemingly Tarnished By 'Game-Key Card' Release

Bit of a shame Nintendo is entering the PC gaming sphere and losing some of its affordability and impulse buy range. I think a steam deck is overall cheaper if you’re playing games like cyberpunk or elden ring because of steam sales. So I’m a bit undecided with whether to buy this game on Switch

I’m still mainly interested to see which exclusives Nintendo will bring in upcoming year. Metroid Prime would now be the only reason for me to buy the Switch 2 this year. The other games can wait

Re: FromSoftware's 'The Duskbloods' Looks Like Bloodborne 2, Coming To Nintendo Switch 2 In 2026

@Ralek85 you’re correct, I should have phrased it a bit differently. I meant to say ‘with a PS4’. I haven’t seen a reason to buy a PS5 myself, and now that all games come to Switch natively, I prefer that way of playing. In my opinion handhelds are a lot more immersive than a box tethered to your tv, and if the quality on Switch 2 is good, i prefer that way of playing these games.

I have to say I also have a PS4, but haven’t touched that one in years. In my opinion in all those years that it’s on the market there’s not a single game other than perhaps astrobot and ff7 that makes it worth upgrading to PS5. But as you said, to each their own preference indeed.

Re: Rumour: More Switch 2 Development Kit Rumours Emerge Following Report Of "3-Phase Launch Plan"

Friendly

@LastFootnote sure, i think it’ll be somewhat like below ‘phasing’ which were the first 9 months of the Switch launch year.

Launch window:

  • Zelda
  • Mario Kart
  • Splatoon 2
  • Arms

3d party window:

  • Mario+Rabbits Kingdom Battle
  • Skyrim
  • Doom
  • L.A. Noire

2nd 1st party and partnered window:

  • Fire Emblem Warriors
  • Mario Odyssey
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2

With tons of 3d party smaller indie games sprinkled throughout the whole year.

It’s not very precise release date-wise, but from my memory, certainly marketing wise.

Re: Rumour: More Switch 2 Development Kit Rumours Emerge

@LastFootnote the Switch also had a 3-phase release. I think it’ll be similar this time around.

Also, none of these rumours state that the switch will launch ‘only’ with Nintendo games. There will most likely be 3d party games sprinkled in the mix. Just the focus-timeline during the launch window will be Nintendo, then 3d party, then Nintendo again.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 2 To Launch In June With 3-Phase Software Plan

Friendly

@Willo567 Nintendo always spreads their games.

But I assume for launch window we’ll get mario kart 9, metroid prime 4, a new multiplayer franchise (like arms was), some rpg or adventure game (zelda hd wind waker / twilight princess?).

And then a 2nd window with 3D Mario, Pokemon Z-A and a new Fire emblem for instance?

Just guessing.
