Re: Hollow Knight - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Has Been Rated

@Kiz3000 you’re not the only one. As a completionist that game and especially the boss gauntlet of the free DLC haunts me to death… Every time I see the game being mentioned I get reminded of my failure to complete every single boss with a gold medal… so much that I now detest the look of it and that I haven’t even bought HK2 😅….

Re: Metroid Prime 4's "Combined Sales" Have Surpassed One Million, Nintendo Confirms

@PtM yes, exactly. Which is why I hope the next Metroid Prime game will be without much input from Nintendo, since Tanabe continuously wanted to invent something new that other developers have done in other genres. Even though he’s a legend, with Metroid Prime I think the Japanese developers should be hands off.

I’d advice to watch the video of Arlo about it: https://youtu.be/08kKqohmZho?si=kXXJYLS0FDX--Cl7

Re: Overwatch 2 Ditches The Number In Huge Overhaul, Switch 2 Version Announced

TEN new heroes are coming in one year? A huge part of the fun in Overwatch (1) was thinking of strategies to overcome every combination of heroes on the other side. And just think about strength and downsides of each hero in general.

That’s ruined now. That amount of heroes that fast in a row… Well, most likely you have to buy a pass of some sort to unlock any of the heroes. I hate the age of modern ‘f2p’ and live service gaming.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 5th February 2026

Friendly

@Pillowpants nintendo is currently set until april with tomodachi life.

I think you can expect yoshi end of april or early may (since they tie Yoshi to the movie)., fire emblem in June and Rhythm heaven groove in July. Probably some switch 2 edition games like pikmin in the mix?

With a direct end of March (they lately do three every year, late feb or March, June, September)

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct February Partner Predictions - What Do You Want To See?

Friendly

There’s still loads to choose from! So many ports are still possible, even though Nintendo manages to go through it rapid fire with around 1 port per 1 or 2 months.

I made a list (sort of a wishlist), games that have not been released on Nintendo systems, but from my amateur view looks as if it should be able to run on Switch 2. I think most of these will be released in batches in the two years after launch and new games will release day and date (or at least close).

I’ll try to keep this list up to date for every direct:

  • Metal Gear Solid 4 and 5
  • Journey
  • Mass Effect Legendary edition
  • Dragon Age: the veilguard
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Clair obscure expedition 33
  • Star Wars fallen order and jedi survivor
  • Psychonauts 1 and 2
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Grand Theft Auto IV and V
  • Detroid: become human
  • Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remake
  • FF XVI
  • Stellar Blade
  • Demon soul and Dark souls 2+3
  • Kena: bridge of spirits
  • Silent Hill 2
  • Tales of Arise, Scarlet Nexus, Metaphor Refantazio, Fate/Samurai, Star Ocean: the Divine Force, other rpg’s?
  • Kingdom Hearts
  • Death Stranding
  • Like a Dragon games
  • Control
  • Alan Wake 2
  • Baldurs Gate 3
  • Viewfinder
  • Hi-fi Rush (shame that studio is gone)
  • Flight simulator
  • Deathloop, Ghostwire tokyo
  • Diablo IV
  • Oblivion remastered
  • Fallout games
  • other Sony ip, Microsoft ip. Why not?
  • moonlighter 2

Updates for:

  • Doom, Alan Wake, Witcher III, other assassin’s creeds, Mario + Rabbids, Kingdom come Deliverance, Outer Worlds.

Released or announced in or since the last Direct from my original list:

  • Street Fighter VI
  • FFVII Remake - Jan
  • Split Fiction
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Elden Ring
  • Star Wars Outlaw
  • Kunitsu-Gami
  • Persona 3 reload
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • ufo 50
  • Indiana Jones - 2026
  • New: Assassin’s creed shadows - Dec
  • New: FF VII Rebirth + 3d game
  • New: Resident Evil VII, VIII, IX - Feb
  • New: Fallout 4 - 2026
  • New: update for Skyrim
  • New: South of Midnight

—————

As for my actual prediction:

I think we can expect a couple of new ports, dates of already announced ports and information on Monster Hunter Stories 3, the larger upcoming game that we do not know much about yet - just to remind us it is almost there. That game might also get its own mini direct, i think.

Prediction for the ports of this direct based on talks and leaks in the last few weeks:

  • Kingdom Hearts complete edition.
  • Final Fantasy XIII (maybe, just because the producer started talking about it)
  • Expedition 33
  • Metaphor: Refantazio
  • Final Fantasy XVI (weird timing again, in between two FFVII releases, SE will be disappointed in sales again).
  • Resident Evil Remakes
  • Call of Duty
  • Rayman 30th anniversary
  • Disney Anniversary collection

And personally I’m hoping for a Fable collection

Re: Dispatch Uncensored Physical Switch Release Apparently Not Possible

@Dang_69 @jeronan Japan has always been very strict with showing genitals. They’re not strict with boobs.

There just aren’t many games that show genitalia, especially a penis. This game does, thus censorship.

There also aren’t any genitalia in Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3, if I recall correctly. Just sex scenes, but those are fine in Japan.

Re: Dispatch Uncensored Physical Switch Release Apparently Not Possible

Friendly

@Dang_69 every platform owner has censorship. Even Steam has banished a few games and even publishers lately. Something with a name that contains the word horses, if I recall correctly.

What I think happened is that they just screwed themselves over, and I think due to time constraints (remember, Dispatch released late 2025 on PS5, but same day in Japan on PS5 as the switch version): they just asked the Japanese Nintendo which rules applied, Nintendo of Japan gave them those rules, they asked for a worldwide SKU just to be quick with it and just didn’t think about a different version someplace else. And now they found out they can’t change the SKU, you’re not allowed to have multiple SKU’s at the same place of the same game, and that’s what the legal stuff might be about (including the amount of refunds which SOMEBODY has to pay for, and Nintendo doesn’t want to, thus jurisdiction).

Re: Dispatch Uncensored Physical Switch Release Apparently Not Possible

@Dang_69 why is the error on Nintendo’s side? Absolutely nothing points in that direction. Nintendo has general rules for every country. Adhoc clearly messed up with a single SKU and doesn’t even dare to answer on that question.

I just think everything points towards time constraints at Adhoc and maybe even just messing up about not knowing with regards to different sku’s ór the fans being this strongly opinionated about some black bars.

I was thinking about it, would like to play something like this together with my daughter, but after seeing the trailer I think the humor is perhaps a bit difficult to understand for her? Anyone here has experience with playing the 3DS game with their 4 year old sibling?

I won’t play it single player, I think this is an experience you should share together. (Or talk about after), and my counterpart doesn’t play games at all.

@itsashame @nintndonik @mattmanforever

So yes, i was right. Adhoc released a single binary across all switch regions (BR37A), so they had to comply to the rules in Japan, which are the most strict of all. And the game released in Japan on the PS5 on the same day censored only too.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/1qpxtya/i_think_dispatch_being_censored_on_switch_is/?share_id=kQWlp8v8fWZpOJq0uk6lI&utm_content=1&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

People here demanding stuff from Nintendo should actually call out either Adhoc for time management or the Japanese government.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

@NintndoNik you assume as much as i do. You think nintendo has set double standards. I don’t think they did. i cant think of a reason why Nintendo would do that. Rules are rules, it takes years for Nintendo to set these clear rules and it would create an uproar among developers if Nintendo would differ from these rules per dev. Thus, they wouldn’t.

Also: Sony has a different judging system, so it wouldn’t be a press of a button if you have a censored and an uncensored version on Playstation. Both versions would require some alteration at the very least. And it requires work to get m both running and graded (again) on time.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

@NintndoNik @mattmanforever i know them. Don’t worry. Any nintendo fan would know them. But they’re out of the system for years now and have told themselves often they can’t currently do more than speculate. They’re out of the loop.

But whatever. Believe what you want to believe. Find it incredibly ‘disgusting’ that stuff gets a black bar on it. Jump on a barricade in front of NoA office and demand the release of the uncensored version. I don’t care.

What i would find disgusting if it was the other way around, not having the ability to censor and force that on people, since this looks like a game that a lot of parents will buy for their kids. Yes, even though it states that the game is mature and 18+

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

@NintndoNik not out of thin air. cyberpunk 2077 was also heavily censored in Japan, thus it has multiple versions on Switch. One would wonder why there’s just one version of Dispatch on Switch. Same applies to the hentai slop.

Since the devs are the ones who would need to put in the work for other versions and not Nintendo, it makes more sense to me that it’s the devs that called it a day and just released one version. All your arguments point to that conclusion too… why would nintendo have different rules for different companies? That indeed does not make sense. Different interpretation of these rules or just an easy way out makes way more sense to me.

Funny though that you’re saying i’m pulling stuff out of thin air and then cite others who are speculating but do that for a living and could easily pump up the hype. Must be more trustworthy.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

@NintndoNik words such as ‘disgusting’ are a bit much mate. That’s an example of my second point in here: the overreacting.

And yes, as explained elsewhere, it could be as easy as the devs listening to Nintendo on what needs to be altered to be accepted in Japan, and then the devs deciding ‘well, let’s just only put the censored version in then and call it a day’ and a dev could call that ‘working with Nintendo’.
