@kmtrain83 depends on the games you’re playing. You only notice the difference if a game has framedrops (which get smoothened out by vrr), or when the game is optimized on a frequency your tv does not support natively (for instance 40 Hz) if I’m correct. So t could very well be that you can’t see any difference between your previous and current setup.
@K1LLEGAL i have such regrets missing that asian release for Final Fantasy X/X-2… i have the european one, not knowing that the asian one has both games on the card. Uninformed me made a terrible mistake
I find it such a shame that we most likely wont see anymore physical releases of classic games (unless as a switch 1 game), like lunar, final fantasy 1-6 or castlevanias. Or indies. I have a lot of those as well.
Can you imagine chrono trigger being released as a key card…
This physical release is not a limited run game numbered release, which means that it’ll be available at other retailers after the timeframe as well (and usually cheaper). I’d suggest wait a little longer before buying into this.
And 70 dollar games were already set as a standard by Sony and Microsoft
High prices are one of the reasons why i love and support indies though. High budget games often lack creativity, but which is often present in indie games to stand out.
@premko1 oh yeah, i forgot that one. I wonder if that button can be programmed with a sequence. Could be a great addition for shiny hunting in pokemon somehow perhaps.
As a collector and a completionist, this game key-card is something i wont be collecting.
When looking at my current Switch collection, that means that I will buy way less games since i also bought games mainly for being part of the collection.
I think i have played 25% of my current physical switch games. (More than half an hour at least)
Weird that this was not part of the NSO service. I would have guessed that all Switch 2 upgrades would have been part of it. This will only add to the confusion.
@Haruki_NLI yeah, the guy and his administration are messing stuff up for the US in particular.
There were no problems for me preordering here in Europe. Also amiibo are still priced 20 euro (~23 dollar). The tariffs are mainly hurting American consumers, especially now with resellers active. I can imagine them even buying systems in Europe and selling them in the US.
@JaxonH suggested price was 20 for the Zelda amiibo until tariffs hit. Now it’s 30.
Guess a new factory has to be built in the US or something.
These amiibo are 20 euro in Europe.
@nuke13 the newer and larger amiibo were already up to 25 dollar. (20 for ganondorf, 23 or so for Monster Hunter). Mainly the older and less detailed ones are still 16. Hence there is not much of an uproar.
@Olliemar28 natural sounds not that bad! Shoruken and haduken were easily performed?
The current d-pad is pretty wobbly in my experience. So hope the new one is slightly better. Might even convince me to get a new controller down the line within a few years.
@MisterNintendo sorry to burst your bubble, I’m not from the US and you can’t imagine the damage Trump has already done to your country. While dragging partners along with it.
@Olliemar28 can I ask you or any other of the Nintendolife staff who has tried the controller: what’s the d-pad like? The same as the pro controller? Or perhaps more like a SNES or 8bitdo d-pad?
Very curious about that tbh for silksong 2 for instance.
And there are still 2 coin rush levels in Super Mario U Deluxe and 5 bosses in Boss mode for Hollow Knight that I just can’t seem to do without a proper d-pad. (Yes, i’m blaming the hardware and not my skills 😅)
@Not_Soos sorry to say, but your comment looks more like an overreaction to a few posts to me though. There’s a lot of generalization in it. I haven’t seen anyone claim that the price of the console would go up to 700 dollars.
Also, with a predicted 40-50% chance on a recession currently, you can’t ignore the fact that the administration absolutely seems to be creating a chaotic America run by oligarchs who want nothing more than tax benefits and more money. And the poor and dependent are already reaping the detriments of it. Easy victims / targets sadly

Re: Yakuza 0 Comparison Video May Give Switch 2 The Edge Over PS4
@TenEighty ps5 is not a handheld.
As far as I could find, the switch 2 will be the most technically advanced handheld there is for its price.
Re: Yakuza 0 Comparison Video May Give Switch 2 The Edge Over PS4
@TenEighty can you show me a link to a comparable high spec handheld with all the bells and whistles that is cheaper please?
Re: Video: Check Out New Direct-Feed Gameplay Of Cyberpunk 2077 On Switch 2
@Max_the_German this game on a handheld is not a miracle to you?
Re: Nintendo Apologises For "Error" With Mention Of Switch 2 VRR TV Support
@Misima Nintendo continues selling the Switch and games for the Switch for the next couple of years though. That cheaper option is still around.

@GrailUK PS5 and Xbox series also didn’t support vrr at launch

But will the physical switch 2 edition be a key card or a complete package? 🤔

Or any other doll for that matter.

Mario kart is 80. This guy is a joke

@FortniteJ thanks for the explanation, it makes sense.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Tells Studios "Do Not Underestimate The Physical Edition"
It’s the only game I will buy on release (next to mario kart) because of the full physical edition. The rest will have to wait for a deep sale.
So yeah, they’re correct imo.
Re: Final Fantasy VII 'Creator's Voice' Implies Rebirth May Also Come To Switch 2
A port to the best selling console in Japan?
I’m shocked! Shocked I tell ya.
And am also looking forward to it. No need for me to buy a PS5 anymore, since this would have been the only reason for me (and Astrobot).
Re: Shuhei Yoshida On Higher Switch 2 Game Prices: "It Was Going To Happen Eventually"
@sixrings both call of duty and forza are multiplatform and contain micro transactions / season passes.
Incomparable.

@Harmonie totk was 70, not 80.

If it performs good I’ll buy it.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: 1080° Avalanche
I mean, it’s light and day.
For the japan one you have to squint your eyes to see what the game is about. An edgy line doesn’t improve that one.
The European one is way, way better in every way. The centerpiece art, the logo, everything

@Ryu_Niiyama yeah, i think so too.

In my opinion the ‘redesign’ of DK is so minimal, I have no idea what any fuzz could be about.
Am I the only one?

@Dragwhite oef. Sounds worth the investment. I’ll keep my eyes and ears peeled and will try one out at a store too.
Thank you for the response!
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?
Any benefits to the pro controller for switch 2 other than the c button? Wondering if I’ll be fine with my current ones or not.
Re: Round Up: Multiple Switch 2 Game Pre-Order Trailers Released
Remember that whole ‘phase 1-2-3 release window rumour’ where not many 3d party would come out in the first phase?
Yeah, that didn’t turn out to be true.
Switch 2 receives a lot of 3d party support, right from the start.
Re: Atlus Reveals 'RAIDOU Remastered' Switch 2 Performance And Resolution
So annoying there’s no upgrade path. I want the physical version, but there’s no switch 2 physical version, and switch 1 has less performance overall.
Choices, choices…

@Toastmaster not in Europe though. From 13 to 20 is not triple. I feel for the US. Hope you guys will get something good out of all this.
Re: amiibo Could Be Getting A Price Hike, According To GameStop Listings (US)
@nuke13 yeah, 145% tariffs on everything from China though. They’re 20 euro here in Europe.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
@johnvboy this article though is about the price increases áfter and because tariffs hit.
And about that the price is even subjective to change because that they are only 90 days delayed (market conditions).

@garfreek Bitterballen kaas en botervla! That’s dutch, right?

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
@ChakraStomps 10-15% increase of the price for accessories in 2 weeks has nothing to do with the last 10 years.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
@johnvboy the last price increase for accessories that happened in the last two weeks?
No, that has nothing to do with inflation over the last 4 years, no.

@Saints you can thank Trump. Thank him a lot for the price increases
Re: MicroSD Express Cards Are Selling Out Thanks To Switch 2 Fever
