Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library Next Week With A Spooky Classic

Friendly

I made a list a while back of top retro Nintendo games that are missing on switch in any shape or form, to track what we can expect. Please let me know if something’s missing on my list.

What is left on Gamecube or Wii to port or remaster:

  • Geist
  • Eternal Darkness
  • Zelda Wind Waker (on NSO)+ Twilight Princess + Four Swords
  • Luigi’s Mansion (on NSO)
  • Metroid Prime 2 + 3
  • Mario Kart Double Dash (don’t think it’ll happen, tracks and characters are in 8 deluxe)
  • Smash Bros Melee (don’t think it’ll happen, since most is in Ultimate already)
  • Mario Sports games (don’t think it’ll happen, will cannibalize sales) - mario strikers is on NSO
  • Fire Emblem Path of Radiance games
  • F-Zero GX (on NSO)
  • Pokemon games
  • 1080 Avalanche, Wave Race
  • Starfox Adventures + Assault
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2 - remastered
  • Punch-Out!!
  • Sin and Punishment
  • 2D Warioland Games
  • Wario Ware (don’t think it’ll happen - the Wario Ware mini games usually get rereleased via collections just like mario party, mario kart, SSBU).
  • 3d party: Soul Calibur II, Viewtiful Joe, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Star Wars games, Ubisoft Games (they don’t remake), Time Splitters, Doshin the Giant (for Alex), the Last Story, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, …

What is left on Wii-U to port or remaster:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X - remastered
  • Nintendoland
  • NES remixes
  • Star Fox Zero
  • Yoshi’s wooly world

What is missing on NSO of NES/SNES/N64/GB/GBA

  • Rare games - some have been released
  • Pokemon games
  • SNES and GBA Fire emblem games
  • Metroid Zero Mission
  • Kirby games (however, return to dream land for the wii got a remake on switch)
  • F-Zero games
  • Mother 3 (lol)
  • Mario games such as Mario is Missing, Mario Paint, Mario Picross, etc.
  • 3d party stuff such as N64 Mega Man, Castlevania, Ogre battle, dragon quest games, chrono trigger, other awesome jrpg’s, Sonic advance, etc.

DS and 3DS

  • Mario & Luigi: Partners in time
  • will expand later

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

Friendly

To me, Mario Kart World did indeed disappoint. I was wondering what it was, but a big aspect I thought it was the long (and boring) open world tracks. But now I think it’s the 24 racers aspect, and the fact that there’s always something working against you on the tracks too. There’s just way too much noise so there’s much less focus on the racing and the technical part. Also, the cpu is just too arbitrarily good, one random hit by whatever and you’re 2nd or 3d already, making the past few minutes on the long tracks feel meaningless.

I also prefer the tight arcady action of mario kart 8.

I also think that there’s no mention of a dlc yet, because they want to give a spotlight to kirby air riders too. And I think Mario Kart World will also grow to something spectaculair, like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe did

Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?

@Res462 ok, i see what you mean now. So you prefer an 80 dollar switch 2 physical version over a 70 dollar switch 1 version with an upgrade?

Would you have paid more for a physical version of the other games that got free upgrades too, like Link’s Awakening, clubhouse games, captain toad, etc.?

@HingryHuppo which ‘content and features’ are hidden behind an amiibo?

There is only a handful of games that I can think of where an amiibo actually gives a useful feature, which are Zelda Skyward Sword HD (fast travel), and metroid (reserve tank, reserve missile, ultra hard mode). For the rest, it’s just a small benefit on a daily cooldown (other Zelda games) or characters that you can unlock while playing a bit (Smash Bros).

Tbf: Not a fan of the Bananza DLC either. I skipped on that one too. And I agree about their mobile games. But none of their console games have lootboxes.

Therefore, calling them worse than EA, which has turned their games into pay to win, is absolutely not true and actually gives EA a go to stay as horrible as they currently are.

Re: More Switch Games Get Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes

@Anti-Matter because they have the same chips in their system as the previous system. Remember, also not all ps4 games work on ps5, and no ps3 games work on ps4 or ps5. It’s a thing with every company and every new generation.

99+% of all switch games work on switch 2, all of them running similar or better.

@simu001 yes, they care so little such that they’re fixing issues when encountered.

Re: Nintendo Of America Reportedly Cuts Loose Customer Service Contractors As It Looks To Outsource

Friendly

@Summer235 maybe it’s very much related to current American politics, mainly the new visum requirements. Take this move from Microsoft for instance.

https://ragex.co/tech-and-ai/microsoft-orders-h-1b-workers-back/

E.g. Nintendo does not want to deal with visa requirements in the US and therefore outsources it to other countries.

@jedrus_lilac could be, but i also think they’re trying to dodge a bullet.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Switch And Switch 2 Direct Game In New Infographic

Friendly

I’ll gobble up around 10 of these over time most likely.

But I am willing to wait a little for either discounts or full physical releases.

Btw, i find it interesting that apart from FC 25, Hitman, Cyberpunk and a Ubisoft game the western AAA support is not as much there yet. I think Nintendo was possibly secrative of switch 2’s specs and configuration and they didn’t want it to get into the hands of their console rivals, such as for instance Microsoft?

Indiana Jones will be the first from Microsoft in March I think?

Re: New Kirby amiibo Will Apparently Be Nintendo's "Most Expensive amiibo Ever"

Just a reminder to everybody here, that the high prices in America are 30% tax and that you’re paying Trump and his billionaires friends tax cuts with it.

In Europe I’ve seen these kirby amiibo go for only 32 euro (35 dollar). So yeah, tax related.

If you still don’t want to see it, and still want to vote republican, i don’t know what to say.

3d party related: I made a list in april 2025 (sort of a wishlist), games that have not been released on Nintendo systems, but should be able to run on Switch 2. I predict, mario related stuff:

  • Mario 3D all-stars 40th anniversary edition (with graphical upgrade),
  • luigi’s mansion switch 2 edition- free graphical upgrade (since it’s almost the horror season),
  • mario wonder + addition switch 2 edition,
  • tease for the next 3d mario.

Then of course: release dates for games we know. And i think a tease for something from monolith soft for next year.
