@PikminMarioKirby yes, legends has a different production team from the scarlet/violet and gen 10 games. Team B works on Pokemon spinoffs like Legends, team A works on the mainline games.

I’ll be buying so much less games for the switch 2. I have a huge backlog of physical unopened games, and i will never get the same amount of games if most of them are being released as a game card.

Any word on a switch 2 physical edition, perhaps?

Well, unfortunately I won’t be traveling there anytime soon… Looks great but I’ll wait for a European one or I will try to visit Japan somewhere in the future.

To me though, I could have bought these games but haven’t, since because having a child, portable gaming has changed my life. I also haven’t bought a ps5, so I’m looking forward to being able to play Elden Ring, Street Fighter 6, Yakuza 0, Cyberpunk 2077 and Split Fiction. Also looking forward to FFVII Rebirth, Hades II and Layton. That’s a good third party lineup, but not all of them new, no. To me it’s mainly about actually being able to play these high tech games with not many drawbacks on a handheld that excites me.

And yeah, from Nintendo we can look forward to Mario Kart, and next to that I can’t wait for Metroid Prime 4 (finally!). With maybe Donkey Kong and Age of Imprisonment sprinkled in between but I’m also not that excited about those.

I hope Nintendo will create a new franchise again as they’ve done with Splatoon. It might give developers free reign.

@Trauma_Team_Medic why? It will just be two years of games reaching new audiences. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing?

And in the mean time, it will grow to day and date releases too.

I’ll be enjoying my switch 2 from day 1 and until an upgrade becomes available.

Consoles always get upgrades down the line. I played gb games on my gba back in the day. And ps2 games on my ps3.

It doesn’t make sense to always wait, especially now that prices don’t seem to go down in the next couple of years. Just enjoy the games and if you’re able to afford a console just get it while it’s current.

@TenEighty ps5 is not a handheld.

As far as I could find, the switch 2 will be the most technically advanced handheld there is for its price.

@Misima Nintendo continues selling the Switch and games for the Switch for the next couple of years though. That cheaper option is still around.

@kmtrain83 depends on the games you’re playing. You only notice the difference if a game has framedrops (which get smoothened out by vrr), or when the game is optimized on a frequency your tv does not support natively (for instance 40 Hz) if I’m correct. So t could very well be that you can’t see any difference between your previous and current setup.

@GrailUK PS5 and Xbox series also didn’t support vrr at launch

I find it such a shame that we most likely wont see anymore physical releases of classic games (unless as a switch 1 game), like lunar, final fantasy 1-6 or castlevanias. Or indies. I have a lot of those as well.

This physical release is not a limited run game numbered release, which means that it’ll be available at other retailers after the timeframe as well (and usually cheaper). I’d suggest wait a little longer before buying into this.

It’s the only game I will buy on release (next to mario kart) because of the full physical edition. The rest will have to wait for a deep sale.

So yeah, they’re correct imo.

High prices are one of the reasons why i love and support indies though. High budget games often lack creativity, but which is often present in indie games to stand out.

As a collector and a completionist, this game key-card is something i wont be collecting.

When looking at my current Switch collection, that means that I will buy way less games since i also bought games mainly for being part of the collection.

I think i have played 25% of my current physical switch games. (More than half an hour at least)

Yeah, that didn’t turn out to be true.

Switch 2 receives a lot of 3d party support, right from the start.

So annoying there’s no upgrade path. I want the physical version, but there’s no switch 2 physical version, and switch 1 has less performance overall.

Weird that this was not part of the NSO service. I would have guessed that all Switch 2 upgrades would have been part of it. This will only add to the confusion.

@Haruki_NLI yeah, the guy and his administration are messing stuff up for the US in particular.

There were no problems for me preordering here in Europe. Also amiibo are still priced 20 euro (~23 dollar). The tariffs are mainly hurting American consumers, especially now with resellers active. I can imagine them even buying systems in Europe and selling them in the US.

@Toastmaster not in Europe though. From 13 to 20 is not triple. I feel for the US. Hope you guys will get something good out of all this.
