Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (21st March)

Happy weekend and gaming everyone. This week I have been playing:

  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 - Still on the farming island doing a lot of things. Having fun.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - mostly out of things to do right now except wait for my last visitors so primarily just playing to check in.
  • Yoshi's Island (nso) - Planning to do a couple more worlds on my current run.
  • Picross LogiartGrimoire - Finally started the DLC 5 pack which is the last DLC. There are a lot of large puzzles in this one so it will take awhile.

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. This week I have been playing:

  • Super Mario Maker 2 - It's been some months which is a long mario maker break for me. I got on to play a couple levels from the Nintendo Life community and may play some endless as well.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - I now have 59 visitors at 5 stars and permanently moved in and 2 more visiting this month. That's not counting the 21 main friends or the special characters. I'm surprised the island isn't feeling crowded at this point.
  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 - All the Pokopia fever gave me an urge to go back to this similar game. I started a new save file. Such a cute game.
  • GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle - I was in the mood for a rhythm game so decided to play some gunvolt records. I enjoy the gunvolt series but I always thought it was amusing they had a rhythm spinoff.
  • Fitness Circuit - It was randomly really hot (in the 80s farenheit) in the middle of the week and the heat in my building is still on because it is technically winter so I played this game in an oven 😅

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. This week I have been playing:

  • Yoshi's Island (nso) - Playing a quick any% run. This game is always fun.
  • Picross LogiartGrimoire - I finished DLC 4 which had some big puzzles at the end. There is one more DLC pack but I may wait a bit.
  • Fitness Circuit - It's been raining constantly outside so good time for an indoor workout game. I still really want a sequel to this game but it feels a bit unlikely.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - Lots of birthdays and Spring events in the game. I am close to finally getting my last two Spring-only visitors to move in. It sounds like the City Town DLC is likely arriving in mid April so I'll try to wrap everything else up before that.
  • Why Me? - A troll platformer where the floor or spikes unexpectedly move around to mess up your jumps. Trolls can be annoying but this game was short and had a variety of gimmicks and was pretty fun. It only took an hour to beat but it was a $2 game and I enjoyed my time with it.

I may dip into the recent demos as well such as fatal frame 2 remake. I am very tempted by Pokopia but have resisted so far. I hope everyone playing is enjoying it.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Pokémon Pokopia?

FishyS

I want it but I can't really justify the high price, especially since I am still juggling two other cozy games. If it was any other publisher I would say I would wait for a good sale but since a good sale for Pokemon may or may not ever happen... I guess I may or may not eventually get it.

Re: Video: 13 Exciting New Games Coming To Switch 1 & 2 In March 2026

FishyS

That's a packed month. My wishlist right now:

  • Planet of lana 2 (I loved the first)
  • Pokopia ( it's a little too expensive to get now but looks fun)
  • Scott Pilgrim EX (the whole series is fun)
  • Fatal Frame II - will definitely get on eventual sale
  • Monster Hunter Stories 3 - really want but too expensive so will wait for sale.
  • Super Mario Bros Wonder DLC - waiting for reviews ro decide

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. And Happy Pokemon Anniversary. This week I have been playing:

  • Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth - A well done Castlevania-like with great pixel art. There are some cute mini puzzles as well as satisfying but simple combat.
  • Me Run and Jump - Still enjoying this game. There are some hilarious neon Thwomps. Getting all the collectibles in the later stages starts becoming quite hard so I may just try to beat levels for now and focus on the secret-room collectables.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - There was a birthday and a new event. I'm waiting for March to finally get my visitors who only visit in Spring.
  • Fitness Circuit - I'm hoping for a Switch 2 fitness game eventually but for now I was in the mood for indoor exercise so went back to my favorite.
  • Picross LogiartGrimoire - I did one of the super big puzzles in DLC 4. For some reason I wasn't in the mood to play handheld and it was very hard to see such a huge grid on my tv 😅

@Morsel It's nice seeing someone else play two of my favorite games so they get more than one vote 😃

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. And Happy Zelda's 40th anniversary. And Happy week of Pokemon 30th anniversary. This week I have been playing;

  • Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon - I finished a first run through and now am replaying on the harder difficulty. I love the variety of characters in this game.
  • qomp2 - I grabbed on a good sale. This is a game about the pong ball escaping and going on an adventure. Some of the puzzles are tricky; I'm still early game but it is quite good so far.
  • Me Run and Jump - Another great sale. Similar vibe to qomp2 even though this one is a traditional precision Platformer. The variety of jumps with just 2 buttons is impressive - long jump, wall jump, high jump, double jump, ball roll, parabolic air dash. It's a simple game but quite well put together.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - Moppu is max level! Now I'm back to events and waiting for 3 visitors to arrive.
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A -Season 7 just started so I'm back to multiplayer. The multiplayer for this game has gotten even more silly over time.

Perhaps I will boot up a Zelda game also in honor of the anniversary.

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. I hope everyone celebrating Valintine's Day has a good one. This week I have been playing:

  • Yoku's Island Express - Was on a very deep eShop sale so I finally picked this up. The combination of exploration and pinball is quite fun and the art and character design is lovely.
  • Squeakross: Home Squeak Home - A cute Picross game where solving puzzles gives you furniture and other household goods to decorate with. There is an adorable and quite in-depth character creator to create your own rat.
  • Tamagoneko - A precision platformer with slightly janky controls. You keep getting new abilities every 20 levels - so far abilities consistent with being a cat such as wall climb. There are 160 levels in total; time will tell if I finish them all or rage quit, but so far it has a decent level of challenge without being unfair.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - Up to level 23 on Moppu. Otherwise, finishing up the two February events.

I have a 3 day weekend so I will likely play something else as well, but I haven't decided what yet.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics

FishyS

Some of those previews seem to focus on Wario Land being good and some focus on the device being horrible to use ... I can certainly believe both of those can be true at the same time.

Pass for me — there are plenty of good games which don't cause physical pain.

But I'm glad it exists for game preservation purposes and so people can try it if they want to.

Happy weekend and gaming everyone. This week I have been playing:

  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - Got 2 new visitors to move in and am up to level 20 friendship on the new main character. Also playing the February events. For the first time I am seeing a repeat (though modified) event, so I must be very close to a year with this game. 👀
  • Sonic X Shadow Generations - Picked this up on a great sale a few weeks ago and finally diving in. First few levels are very cute - the gimmick of going between 2D and 3D is fun.
  • Spiritfall - A pretty rogue-lite with combat in a series of small rooms. There are some special stages which are set up a lot like a Smash arena.
  • Seers Isle - A lovely visual novel I played years ago but never 100%-ed. Rather than being allowed to save state each choice there is only automatic saving- you simply get what you get from all your choices which is an interesting way to do it. So I am starting from scratch.
  • Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics - I was just in a random mood to play a few weird games. I may try for some trophies I never got. It slightly annoys me that if you are playing with pro controller and you accidentally click on a game which requires joycons, it just soft locks you and doesn't even let you leave the game until you obtain a joycon.

I also watched the partner direct. No must-buys for me but a lot of potentially interesting games. The new hamster console archives is interesting... although I wish NSO could have all the hamster games 😆I played a little of the monster hunter stories 3 demo which is quite nice. Overall ok partner direct, but I am looking forward to a general in the next few months.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (January 2026)

Of those games, I'm looking forward to MIO but haven't bought it yet.

I bought Suika Game Planet which is cute but I think I prefer the original game. Planet doesn't have as much as the interesting bounce physics so the strategy isn't quite as elaborate.

I also played Bunninjutsu, a cheap cute little indie platformer. The game has good controls and uses a good concept of changing everytime you jump but unfortunately it is insanely short so feels more like a demo than a full game.

Re: Quiz: LEGO Pokémon's Priciest Set Is HOW MUCH!?

FishyS

I got 12/12 but I guessed the price question so I only actually knew 11/12.

@Nintoz I have no clue how the leaderboard works. My only guess for me is because I clicked on the article but then closed it and came back later when I had time to do the quiz.

Happy Weekend and gaming everyone. This week I have been playing:

  • BALL x PIT - I beat new game plus, played NG++, unlocked and played all the DLC stuff. It's been a fun ride but I'm probably done with the game for now.
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing around with the hotel and all the other new stuff. It's been fun to revisit the game for a few weeks. I'm getting close to 600 hours total though almost all of that was before the 3 year break 😆
  • Golden Axe - My current retro game. The controls are not great and the final boss is like 10 times harder than the rest of the game. I beat it with one character and also played the enemy rush mode, but there are two more characters with different abilities to play. I am playing in the Sega Genesis Classics collection, but the game is also on Nintendo Classics Expansion Pack.
  • Hello Kitty Island Adventure - They recently added a new main character (a super cute bear) as well as some new visitors and story so I am back to playing more to level up the new character.
  • The Rogue Prince of Persia - Just started, but I absolutely love the controls. Being able to briefly run up walls in the background is wonderful and makes some great platforming. I kind of wish this wasn't a rogue lite; controls this good would be wonderful in a variety of genres. My only minor negative is that it has the longest loading screens I've seen on a Switch 2 game.
