Re: Review: Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns (3DS)

Haven't played a Harvest Moon game in about 15 years but I've been wanting to get back into the series. Sounds like this might be a great title for re-entry. Too bad the Switch is around the corner and I'll sadly end up never getting this game, but I should try to keep it on my list.

Re: Gallery: Here's How Nintendo Switch Game Cards Compare To Practically Everything Else

Awesome. I for one love the small cartridge design. Perhaps a slightly bigger cartridge would've been better, but I like this way better than any optical disc. Also I have never ever lost a single game because I take care of my stuff. If that is a problem for you, then try putting a game back in its case after you're done with it or just going digital.

Anyway,I love the new cases though they seem to be tall for no reason, but they are ridiculously thin which I love. Can't wait to get the Switch and games!

Re: Bill Trinen on the Addition of DLC to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

ErrantEmbers

I still don't like the concept of DLC in general but I'm less bothered by it than the day it was announced. I think my big issue is we have no idea what it is we're getting. Why would I want to pay $20 for something that I have no idea how good it will be? I mean it's Zelda and I trust Nintendo and the Zelda team so logically I should be okay just blindly giving them money but I mean what is the content? We have no idea. "Vague story mode. Vague map feature. Vague hard mode. Vague treasure chests". Like, give us more info then I'll buy it if it sounds good.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Expansion Pass DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

@Einherjar It doesn't ruin the initial game but adding DLC is a cheap way to make more money on a game, simple as that. Imagine restaurants start charging you for the bread a lot of places give you at the start of your meal. Some people go "yay more food!" But some content should've been included in the game itself. Specifically the summer DLC. What irks me more than anything about this is the game isn't out yet. They should've surprised people a few weeks/months after it released by announcing it.

Also how is it that the recent Animal Crossing New Leaf update was FREE? 200cc mode in Mario Kart 8 was FREE. All added maps and guns in Splatoon were FREE. What makes it okay to charge for content that should've been included in the game to begin with? Do you think Splatoon would've been as popular of all those free updates were paid DLC? Hell no!

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

ErrantEmbers

I don't like the idea but if the content's good enough maybe I can be persuaded. Two things bother me about it though. FIrst, the game is not even out yet. So now I'm going to be playing the game on March 3rd feeling I'm playing only the "vanilla" version of the game, as in incomplete. They should've waited to announce the DLC til after. Also, the descriptions for the content is WAY too ambigious. "Additional map feature"? What does that even mean?

Re: Nintendo Confirms Expansion Pass DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Nintendo is slowly getting rid of the reasons why I prefer Nintendo over all other video game companies. Before they'll be just like all the others and I'll lose interest in gaming completely. I don't get why they have to ruin good things. I will probably not be getting this DLC, but all I can say is the game BETTER be complete on March 3rd. No "well here's about 75% of the game and you have to pay for the last 25% through DLC". In essence if you want the FULL full game it's $80 now. Also it's almost pointless for me to buy the DLC because I'm playing the game March 3rd no matter what. Chances are good I'll be done with the game by the time the first DLC rolls around and I won't be wanting to revisit it. It also concerns me because if this is the start of a new trend for Nintendo I'm not going to be happy.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Expects Nintendo Switch To Sell "About As Well" As The Wii

ErrantEmbers

They just keep chasing that Wii dream. the Wii was a fluke. It should not have sold that much. The Wii U and Switch are going to suffer because of the success of the Wii. They wanted to make a Wii 2 hence why they named Wii U what they did and they thought the name alone would make it sell. Clearly not. And the Switch...if they keep focusing on 1-2-Switch minigame motion control BS the Switch will fail. Focus on the fact that you can take it anywhere. I think they're dreaming if they think they're going to hit 100 million again. The Wii's success seems to have ruined them.
