Even medicines lost their patents over time, this is getting ridiculous. I get what Nintendo's trying to do and I fully support taking care of your IP's but as so many before me have said, if only they would handle their back catalog better, this wouldn't be as big of an issue.

Lackluster is the word that comes to mind, ill remain on the fence about whats going on with Nintendo this year. Fortunately for me, i have build a smartphone emulation machine (with fisical buttons) so I will be chipping my backlog and past games that for whatever reason, didn't had the chance to play the first time around

If this is true, I wonder what their game's line up will be for the coming months, besides the princess peach game, can't recall anything else. They have ran out of remakes (will seem odd to release any Zelda remake at this point) so if true, what games will be coming?

Coming from an avid fan, the delay will indeed affect the "buy now" desition since I will be more critical of the game concidering the time the "spend" working on it. When they announced, the game seem very polished and far into development, so this either is a business decision or what they showed was video rather than actual gameplay.

Im going to try and clear some backlog at the moment im fighting robot masters on the Mega Man X legacy collection 1 and when i got stuck or just don't feel like keping up im playing Paper Mario on 3DS, have fun everyone!

Only way i can se Nintendo do well with this console (assuming we are talking about the next iteration of the Switch concept) is:

Meet expectations regarding horsepower (most concerning issue right now is if the machine have less than 12GM of ram)

Inovate in some capacity (switch to a third option and not just console to handheld, like for example, console-handheld-VR visor)

Other thant that, they are going to sell well but not ps2 well (my 2cents)

It has been "reported" elsewhere that they were buying LCD panels from Sharp and OLED from Samsung, supposedly there are going to be 2 models at launch, one digital only (with lcd screen) and one fisical (with OLED screen) both backwards compatible (cartridges for the new one been different than the current ones) hopefully thiss end being true 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Aneira i know, but it has to have a build up, its not like the first million of console buyers are going to grab a niche game like Metroid (cuz lets face it, it is one of the niche games coming from Nintendo) besides, they will never push it as a Miyamoto title because of Gumpei Jokoi and Sakamoto involvment

Releasing it as a launch tittle on a new console its only going to hurt the game sales-wise. Metroid has never be a big seller and with a smaller installed base, they are basically sending the game to fail

My only grip with the game so far (by playing the demo) is the scale of the swords in comparison with the body of the protagonist (it brakes the immersion for me) other than that, seems like a cool game, will buy for sure.

Rumor has it that there will be 2 models at launch, if that end being true, 512 gb for the all digital model is mandatory, with that in mind, you can't expect the more premium option to have any less than that so thats why I went with 500. Realistically thou, we are talking Nintendo so expect 128 at most :/

What I got from this article:

• The Earthbound series (or Mother) are a fantastic series of games.
• Miyamoto just told him to maintain his expectations in place (in what some may consider a douchy way) jet, he did find Itoi a team of devs.
• It is well documented that Miyamoto has a pricky way to give feedback and that rarely compliments others (if any)
• Itoi was emotional about the whole thing and cried (nothing wrong with that) still, got to do one of the best games in its respective genre.
• Koizumi is a better dev than Miyamoto
