Come on Konami, where is Twin Snakes and Portable Ops? (The last collection had at least 3 major releases) this seems like a missed opportunity but this is Konami after all
Happy and well deserved retirement to this fine folk, very divisive opinions on his life's work but yeah, Im sure he did his best. Personally, I'm grateful, as he did contribute to some awesome games.
I will probably get heat from this but I don't care, I just want to say 3 things: I haven't play the game, not because it reviewed average or because the game is bad, I want to play the game when all the dust have settled, will approach it with a clean pallet. (16 years passed between 2d Metroids, I sure can wait a few more weeks) People feel the need to talk about Metroid, seem to think what a Metroid game (in this case the prime series) should be like but they don't have context, based on sales, not many people played the original trilogy, the connecting hubs have always be there, in the past they were elevators, now there's a dessert where you can spend as much time as you want so I dont know whats the fuzz (again, I haven't play the game)
Lastñy, this franchise was never meant to be big, it's conception lies between the crossfire of Yokoi and Miyamoto and thw latter will simply not allow this games to outshine itd creations so why even bother.
I love Metroid games, its my favorite franchise but I will not fool myself, people need to come to terms with this and enjoy things while and when they can
I have this Gullikit controller and I was in love with it cuz it has it all, ergonomics, battery life, extra customizable inputs, very nice and premium feel to it, the whole enchilada. One day thou, the B button didn't spring back as it used to making it very awkward to use😣
@BTB20 woaa, calm down mate, you are passionate about it, I get it, however I stand by what I said. Taste is subjective and last time I checked, everyone was entitled to have an opinion, you like Nintendo games, you think they are doing amazingly well, good for you, many other people seem to think otherwise (Investors and myself included)
@BTB20 half of those haven't released yet, some don't even have a release date. Nintendo is trying to sell a 500 bucks console with previous generation games (Metroid) or worst, with previous generations DLC (Animal Crossing), Im not hater, just stating facts
Truth is, there is no games. They had the whole previus generation to map this console launch, yet there is not games (or actual information since we already know they have many games sheved, siting on the shelf) Nintendo got away with the one release per month strategy last gen, now people are expecting more
Personally I would be against it if it means less jobs but I can't fool myself, it is the future and some people brought it to theirselves. I work in HR and the amount of people that skips work for no reason is almost obscene, no wonder many CEO's are looking to automate as many task as they can. I will hate that future for sure but as of right now, it looks like AI is here to stay.
Ill have to go with North America for this one. Japan looks cool but its so busy, besides, this one nails the Megaman Look over I guess, any other cover or at least most than most of the others
Event was cool and all, better that the stiff presentation of past years, this one seemed at least well rehearsed, also, not having that unfurriating world premier!! Every 5 minutes was a welcome change. Having said that, what still baffled me is: why show a game trailer that is still years ahead (for some dont even start formal development) will never understand that.
This was the best announcement of thw whole event for me, up until they show up Megaman. Taking into consideration that this game may or may not becomes a reality (same could be said about Megaman but still think that one have better chances)
I'll take it cuz some Megaman is better than no Megaman, still not a fan of Mega's walking animation and overal design. ☹️
We are talking about one (if not) the hardest plataformer of the NES era, it doesn't have to feel heavy, controls needs to be agile and responsive, oh well....
For me, its a solid 8, Metroid really shines on its own genre (see the far superior game Matroid Dread, even thou that game was rushed too) anyone thinking this was gonna be superior to the OG prime was setting him/her self to disappointment. The game is on para with prime 2 and/or 3, another fine adventure from the best bad-ass bounty hunter of the whole galaxy.
I just played the demo but Donkey kong Bananza didn't do anything for me, in fact I consider it the most meh game of this generation (runners up would be the wheelchair game, which ai cant recall its name and the other the tech demo which I can't recall its name either)
I can honestly say thst. although appreciated, reviews do nothing for me in this case, Metroid has been my favorite franchise and I have come to terms that different games hit different spots, I like better the 2d Metroids but this I will enjoy no matter what.
Almost done with act 3 but yeah, interest is starting to wither due to the difficulty spikes the game has, must act quickly before it goes away any desire to finish it
As much as I would like to support this kinda games on switch, I have all the other games on PS and I like to have my collections on the same system. Maybe down the road when is dirt cheap
I just got one this weekend (black Friday) and as suspected, while downloading all my games, it will fill up pretty quickly. With pretty much all the games being full downloads now, I would recommend to grab at least the 1TB variation.
I used to get my video game news at other (now defunct sites) websites, at the times the NX (later became the Nintendo Switch) project console was looming on the horizon, thats how I came across Nintendo Life. Here's to many more years, HB NL!!
The real problem (at least on my opinion) is not that companies made 'em (those games-turn-to-franchise) the real problem is that people buy them. As have been said time and time again is this threads: vote with your wallet!! (If you want to se a difference)
Im not a fan of Pokemon, even thou I did have buy all the recent games cuz my son's a massive fan, having said that, I think its laughable how little care put all companies involved (Creature, TPC and Nintendo) It's their biggest IP, I mean, put a little more effort, Come On!!
Even thou I consider myself a Nintendo fan, even siding with them on some of their anti consumer practices (as referred by others) I simply cannot suport them on this, I wanted this game so bad since Mario Sunshine was my favorite 3d Mario game, so I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and finally, this game popped up on marketplace (at the right price, that is) so I got it, will do the same thing with the galaxy games.
This guy was a true videogame rockstars, one of the few that left a mark so strong that people do know his name or his name is associated with game series or genres. Seems as he lived life by his rules which is something very admirable, RIP Itagaki-san
I have slow down my purchasing habits since i haven't able to find an SD card express thst suit my needs, woth the degree of OCD that I have, I won't buy new games since I haven't been able to download all my backlog into my new console (I have a 2tb micro sd on my switch 1) sure, it wasn't full of games but a 256 won't cut it so I think Ill wait (Hades 2 will probable be an exception)
Yeah, I agree with you almost entirely (so far not first party must have games have been released for the S2) Mario Kart was not the system seller most of us thought it would be (for the record, I like to have my first party games fisical so I did buy the regular Switch 2 plus the Mario kart game separately) so yeah, lets give them some time. Will keep on my tradition to buy new hardware only if there is a game I could not wait to play (that isn't available on other platforms)
@Varkster silksong is on game pass so im playing it on my series X, as for Hades, that and shinobi will bring me to Switch 2 till Metroid, then again, those two, are games I can play on other consoles so yeah, branch out will get me so far till as you said, Nintendo games start piling up around summer of the next year at best. :/
Don't know what it is but, I haven't play my S2 that much, Mario kart was ok, nothing ground breaking, did upgrade the 2 Zelda games and while they look better it is nothing life changing, I just wander around a few hours and that was it, been playing Kirby and the forgotten land with my son (we just finished the dlc) and that's it. Not saying I regret the purchase but still, feeling like a slow start.
As Jon before him, im sure he will be seen arround (hopefully) this guy was great and anybody not sure of his contributions or capabilities: just watch his Mother documentary. All the success mate!!
IDK man, i hate to be that guy but yesterday, I did download the SF6 in Switch 2 and man, the difference with other consoles is very noticeable (specially on hair texture which are Capcom's Achilles heel) IDK, Switch 2 seems so absent of the same MoJo its previous iteration have)
I'm jet to buy this game cuz, you know, silksong but it is definitely on the list of the ever growing backlog, im seriously thinking on taking a week from work to dig into that backlog of mine.
I'm starting to think Nintedomed is better than thrivingTendo, their pricing strategy almost makes me want them to do another WiiU, will buy this games for sure but at the used market so they see not a damn penny from me
Im just a few hours in so it's still too early for le to chime in, however it is expected given the genre, I just hope the patch is optional so anybody could enjoyed the game as they see fit.
Im pretty sure the marketing department asked legal if they could get away with it and their tough-guy-lawyer said: yeah, sure!! Costing them millions.
This could be confusing and frustrating if it wasn't funny, I just don't get it:
Entitled gamers hate game key carts because they "can't" own their games.
Same Entitled gamers say they want to have "options" like mig carts cuz, you know, "then I can have all my games in there" (then why don't you buy digital???) And when you ask them to make up their mind they throw you the good old excuse of game preservation (even thou theres lots of people that preserve games professionally) hahahaha, first world problems I guess
