I can honestly say thst. although appreciated, reviews do nothing for me in this case, Metroid has been my favorite franchise and I have come to terms that different games hit different spots, I like better the 2d Metroids but this I will enjoy no matter what.
Almost done with act 3 but yeah, interest is starting to wither due to the difficulty spikes the game has, must act quickly before it goes away any desire to finish it
As much as I would like to support this kinda games on switch, I have all the other games on PS and I like to have my collections on the same system. Maybe down the road when is dirt cheap
I just got one this weekend (black Friday) and as suspected, while downloading all my games, it will fill up pretty quickly. With pretty much all the games being full downloads now, I would recommend to grab at least the 1TB variation.
I used to get my video game news at other (now defunct sites) websites, at the times the NX (later became the Nintendo Switch) project console was looming on the horizon, thats how I came across Nintendo Life. Here's to many more years, HB NL!!
The real problem (at least on my opinion) is not that companies made 'em (those games-turn-to-franchise) the real problem is that people buy them. As have been said time and time again is this threads: vote with your wallet!! (If you want to se a difference)
Im not a fan of Pokemon, even thou I did have buy all the recent games cuz my son's a massive fan, having said that, I think its laughable how little care put all companies involved (Creature, TPC and Nintendo) It's their biggest IP, I mean, put a little more effort, Come On!!
Even thou I consider myself a Nintendo fan, even siding with them on some of their anti consumer practices (as referred by others) I simply cannot suport them on this, I wanted this game so bad since Mario Sunshine was my favorite 3d Mario game, so I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and finally, this game popped up on marketplace (at the right price, that is) so I got it, will do the same thing with the galaxy games.
This guy was a true videogame rockstars, one of the few that left a mark so strong that people do know his name or his name is associated with game series or genres. Seems as he lived life by his rules which is something very admirable, RIP Itagaki-san
I have slow down my purchasing habits since i haven't able to find an SD card express thst suit my needs, woth the degree of OCD that I have, I won't buy new games since I haven't been able to download all my backlog into my new console (I have a 2tb micro sd on my switch 1) sure, it wasn't full of games but a 256 won't cut it so I think Ill wait (Hades 2 will probable be an exception)
Yeah, I agree with you almost entirely (so far not first party must have games have been released for the S2) Mario Kart was not the system seller most of us thought it would be (for the record, I like to have my first party games fisical so I did buy the regular Switch 2 plus the Mario kart game separately) so yeah, lets give them some time. Will keep on my tradition to buy new hardware only if there is a game I could not wait to play (that isn't available on other platforms)
@Varkster silksong is on game pass so im playing it on my series X, as for Hades, that and shinobi will bring me to Switch 2 till Metroid, then again, those two, are games I can play on other consoles so yeah, branch out will get me so far till as you said, Nintendo games start piling up around summer of the next year at best. :/
Don't know what it is but, I haven't play my S2 that much, Mario kart was ok, nothing ground breaking, did upgrade the 2 Zelda games and while they look better it is nothing life changing, I just wander around a few hours and that was it, been playing Kirby and the forgotten land with my son (we just finished the dlc) and that's it. Not saying I regret the purchase but still, feeling like a slow start.
As Jon before him, im sure he will be seen arround (hopefully) this guy was great and anybody not sure of his contributions or capabilities: just watch his Mother documentary. All the success mate!!
IDK man, i hate to be that guy but yesterday, I did download the SF6 in Switch 2 and man, the difference with other consoles is very noticeable (specially on hair texture which are Capcom's Achilles heel) IDK, Switch 2 seems so absent of the same MoJo its previous iteration have)
I'm jet to buy this game cuz, you know, silksong but it is definitely on the list of the ever growing backlog, im seriously thinking on taking a week from work to dig into that backlog of mine.
I'm starting to think Nintedomed is better than thrivingTendo, their pricing strategy almost makes me want them to do another WiiU, will buy this games for sure but at the used market so they see not a damn penny from me
Im just a few hours in so it's still too early for le to chime in, however it is expected given the genre, I just hope the patch is optional so anybody could enjoyed the game as they see fit.
Im pretty sure the marketing department asked legal if they could get away with it and their tough-guy-lawyer said: yeah, sure!! Costing them millions.
This could be confusing and frustrating if it wasn't funny, I just don't get it:
Entitled gamers hate game key carts because they "can't" own their games.
Same Entitled gamers say they want to have "options" like mig carts cuz, you know, "then I can have all my games in there" (then why don't you buy digital???) And when you ask them to make up their mind they throw you the good old excuse of game preservation (even thou theres lots of people that preserve games professionally) hahahaha, first world problems I guess
Aaah, an Ubisoft game I was not expecting to play but now will do for a couple of reasons: A) I like Starwars B) I like how cheap their games become as time passes C) The option to play it on the go is so tempting.
I could care less about the game format debacle, will buy this eventually on NS2
@Sebos what issue with game preservation are you talking about? I keep reading that as an excuse to "get with the times." (not saying you are one of those people) you can find literally any game you'd want on the internet (ISO, Rom or otherwise)
My only grip with this issue is storage space, if the vast majority of releases were going to bee digital or disguised digital (AKA game key cart) Nintendo should have launch the console with at least 2tb model variant. Hopefully they'll fix this with the inevitable revision down the line but who am I trying to fool, it's Nintendo with whom we are dealing with here.
Imagine investing 400 dollars to play 1 donkey kong game and some Kirby DLC (even thlu a fun game, if you have played one Mario Kart game you have played them all) It infuriates me that Nintendo has been siting on Metroid Prime for well over a year, release the game already!! (All other games you can play on existing consoles/switch one)
This one's great, the fact that you can dock your Switch without the need to removed it seals the deal for me, plus, the build quality is very good as well.
@DTfearTheBEARD I was on the fence with that brand since I didn't knew anything about it, it seem to just appear out of nothing. So, it is a Wal-Mart brand uh?
Going to Chanel my iner kranky kong, back then frame drops were even part of the gameplay experience (megaman, ninja gaiden, bomberman, etc) I get that for some people, frame drops can alter the immersion experience but, back then....
I'd play the first 4 or 5 hours or so, didn't gel with me at all, didn't like to play as Zelda and the echoes mechanic was very tiresome to me for some reason, trying to find the right echoe to summon never felt right (almost as tiresome as to find the right item in ToTK) my kids did like the game and finished so no money wasted.
