Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want From A Switch Mini?

Nintendo isn’t going to reduce the screen size when developers have already optimised game U.Is for the current dimensions.

Non-removable Joy-Cons would break compatability with many games.

So I believe the most likely outcome is a ‘dockless’ package, as per Japan. Nintendo has has worked incredibly hard to keep the proposition simple and clear; the last thing they need to do is confuse customers with multiple SKUs that differ greatly in messages.

Really wish people would stop posting the mock-ups of a Switch with non-removable Joy-Cons. A system like that would go against the very brand that they’ve tried to establish - and they’ve learned their lesson from the Wii U.

The cheaper version will probably just use a Tegra with a smaller die, so that it can be passively cooled. Better battery life and cheaper to manufacture.

The more expensive version with have to feature something more compelling than simply a processor bump.

Honestly, I would expect M.Prime 4 to be a 2020 release.

The big hitters for 2019 are, no doubt, going to be Animal Crossing and Pokemon. One just after half-way, and one at the end of the year.

The fact that we're also getting Luigi's Mansion, Yoshi and plenty of other confirmed third-party titles (can't believe you missed out Resident Evil 0, 1 and 4) would - surely - have a negative impact on Prime 4's spotlight.

We know that Metroid has historically not been a big seller in Japan too, so I think that makes all the more sense to give it plenty of exposure next year once the dust has settled from Pokemon and Animal Crossing.

Re: Video: Nintendo Would Like To Remind You That 2DS Exists This Christmas

Not everyone has £280 (minus £30-£50 for ONE game) to spend on a Christmas gift for their children.

The 2DS is an amazing value device - it has a wealth of content, is well built and comes in lots of good bundles starting from £80.

It's not just an easy money-maker for Nintendo, but it's the perfect gift for any young child who is making their entry to Nintendo.
