Just in case you'd forgotten, today sees the release of Out Run on Nintendo Switch, the latest game to enter the SEGA Ages range on Nintendo's machine.

Featuring new motion controls and a new ranking system, you can now speed through the streets of Out Run on your trusty Switch, experiencing the award-winning game and fan-favourite for yourself. A launch trailer has been shared to celebrate the game's release, alongside a list of facts and trivia in a new press release.

Did you know all of these?

- Out Run was first conceived as a racing game called DEAD HEAT, where you drove a Formula One race car, before it became a driving simulator with a commercial car to help set it apart.

- Out Run was also modeled after the American cross-country road race seen in the film The Cannonball Run before planners Yoji Ishii and Yu Suzuki switched gears to Europe due to the wider variety of landscapes.

- This SEGA AGES release contains tracks added for the 3DS version of Out Run along with all-new arranged versions of songs from the Genesis and Master System releases, such as MIDNIGHT HIGHWAY -PLAYBACK-, and even includes a chiptune version of RADIATION from Out Run 2006: Coast 2 Coast.

- If you enter a high score as the name "YU." with the period and hold down the X button at the end of Stage 2, you will see a credit for legendary designer Yu Suzuki appear on screen!
