Great to have a reason to play through super nina boy again! It's really fun and definitely worth playing if you haven't. It's not terribly difficult or grindy, and will benefit from having save states. Hopefully we get the gameboy version as well. The fighting game spin offs are amongst some of my favorites, but I don't expect to see those on NSO.

Although it may have come off as a bit harsh, I can see where he's coming from. Expectations would be extremely high for a new banjo. Especially against two classic games, coupled with the nostalgia for the classic games. That being said, I would love a new banjo game!!!

I think that's a pretty good assessment. May be a bit more hesitant if I'd just bought switch 1, but it's been a while...still I'd feel better about it if it were under $400.

I'm really looking forward to this hitting switch. If match making is slow I'll jump on pc online. I still think it's nuts Strive is coming to switch and Xrd never managed to pop up.

Dang, I've been watching Alex videos for ten years now!?! Thank you for that. Truthfully, I don't think there is any content creator I've watched consecutively for as long, and I know I can't be the only one. The bloopers had me in stitches...made my morning.

When I got my copy of Metroid on 3ds it was shrink wrapped but the game cartridge was missing. No googly eyes involved, but I assume they used the same method in my case. It was an Amazon order and they quickly replaced it, but still an obnoxious thing to do for a "free" game.

@Serpenterror It's been a while since I've heard anything about it, but didn't SNK mention something about making a new Art of Fighting game? Man, you don't see Waku Waku 7 brought up enough! So fun and one of my all time favorites. It'd be a miracle if that got brought back, although sunsoft developed it, but I assume SNK owns the IP?

I can hardly wait to dig in to the new garou, and hopefully this KOF studio makes it possible for a new entry in the Last Blade series. Maybe with Samsho going into the action RPG realm Last Blade will take the reigns as their next weapons based fighter?

The wild West that is the switch eshop...I really hope Nintendo manges to get it right on switch 2, but it seems like a tall order. As easy as cherry picking the better parts of other digital store fronts would be it doesn't seem like Nintendo's style. I'd be good with it just being the 3ds eshop. Great article NL!

I had a blast with NWC. I grew up with most of these games and had no interest in speed running them. It was great getting to play them from a completely different angle, and being able to share them, in bite sized form, with my daughter. Its a nice addition to the rotation with the NES remixes.

The next jalecolle installment, Saiyuuki World, released too. I played through it last night and really liked it. Plan on doing another run through tonight.

At first glance, combos kind of remind me of KI. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. I'd definitely give this a whirl.

Solid news! I was never nuts about arena style fighters, but I really enjoyed the first game. It managed to keep from going stale even with a ton of content. Can't say I feel the same about the party game. Although fun, I found myself suggesting other party games for multiplayer. Definitely looking forward to this new one!

This series has always piqued my interest. Maybe nows a good enough time to give it a real go.

@mlt The Wii u pro controller.... Nintendo knocked it out of the park with that one! Hands down, the perfect d-pad. The 8bitdo ultimate controller has been my all purpose 'go to' controller for a while now. From what I can tell, their controllers are as close as it's going to get to a legit Nintendo d-pad.

@AlexOlney Honestly, I'd consider the pro controller the finest controller made to date if it weren't for the d-pad. Otherwise, I'd agree that switch's library and NSO is, about, as good as could be asked for these days.

Another reason to, somehow, lose unfathomable hours to these clowns...

This was a day one buy for me. An absolute blast of a game to play and replay. Definitely worth the price of admission.

@eltomo those are the official N64 clamshell cases with the manual in the front. I had some of those back in the N64 days...been a while since I've seen them.

@HeadPirate I wasn't aware of this trend, but am well out of this age range. We talking SF II-IV and to a lesser extent V, or Guess Fighter VI?

I, for one, am still looking forward to this one. I loved the first two. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the reviews similarly split on the originals as well? It definitely seems like the type of game you're either into or not.

@gojiguy As an avid bullet hell/shmup player and 80s kid I echo the 1cc sentiment, but have also put a lot of time in on this game. My local arcade has it and my daughter loves it. While it is a fun button masher I do find myself loosing interest rather quickly no matter how well I'm doing. Maybe I'm not fully invested, my ADD, or it's just me, but I figured I'd chime in since our approach to this type of game is similar. Honestly, Ill probably buy it, simply, to have another fun multi player game with the kid, but will certainly wait for the price to plummet.

If the guitar peripheral has midi of any kind, then, there is a lot of potential for established guitarists.

@Banks sf2 was the reason I bought the vb ever drive thing, don't recall what it's called. It was worth a go but it's no where near the snes version.

@Banks I pulled it out for my daughter relatively recently and she was floored. She's played the 3ds plenty, but there's something about the "dark room" feel, with the rest shut out, that will draw you in.

Probably like a lot of the other NES/Nintendo power generation folks here. I got one once the hard cut the price to peanuts, but awkward as it is, I always had a good time with the vb.

River city, all over it.... loved it on 3ds + rikis story was killer even without being able to read it. Definitely stoked on giving another few go throughs.

Ive been curious about these, but have used the hori split pads for a while now. Mostly, would've been curious to see how they compare as I love the hori's.

@Collette ha I know I know. My first thought was "oh crap! How much is this gonna cost me?"

I got an almost identical one of those when I purchased tetris for sega saturn eons ago. It was bundled inside the game case. The only difference, aesthetically, was the color. Gray vs yellow. Button layout, shape, key ring, are all the same.

Not a chance. While I love the game. 3 and 64 are hands down the best.
