Re: Pokémon Pokopia Reveals "Peculiar" New Forms In Extended 10-Minute Trailer

Datasun_7

In a modern world with updates and DLC having a complete game on cartridge feels like quite a rarity anyway so I don't personally feel quite so enamoured by proper physical releases as others do

Yes I own Hyrule warriors: Age of Imprisonment on Cartridge but the game is getting at least two free updates (maybe DLC too?) which I will have to download and keep stored on the internal memory (or SD card) if I want a 'complete' experience when the 'servers go down'

I can't see Pokemon Pokopia being safe from updates, DLC, etc etc as is often the way with life sim/cosy games such as this, yes it could be playable from a cartridge (If it had a proper physical release) but it definitely won't be complete

I am looking forward to this game but I do understand why GKC are such an issue for alot of people, I'm sure the argument will rage on until no platform accepts any physical media

Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Gets A Free Demo On Switch 2

I don't mind the performance or visuals (At least in handheld, docked isn't great) but the game just doesn't feel that great to play, it doesn't really feel like you are firing 'guns' at all haha

Might be one to wait for a sale or see full impressions from people who play the finished build etc

Re: Techland Skips Dying Light 'Retouched' Upgrade For Switch, Says There Are No Plans For A Switch 2 Version

Datasun_7

@Keman Sales talk and there is clearly money to be made on Switch 2 just as there was on Switch 1, we will see how it transpires but I think that the Switch 2 will get healthy 3rd party support just as the Switch got

Also, with Sony's Handheld that launches alongside (or just after) the PS6, i think that scalability of games/engines to be playable on the PS handheld will be very important - Which is great news for Switch 2 imo

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

Datasun_7

Still not convinced this has that much to do with Game key cards, do you think that Yakuza 0 or Sonic Generations would have sold that much better if they were all on cart and £10-15 more expensive? I'd have thought that Rune Factory would have sold better if this was just about game key cards imo

Give it a couple months and then we will see what the 3rd party/Game key card sales look like

Re: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?

Datasun_7

Solid 8 out of 10 for me, needs some QOL changes and updates imo

The biggest knock against the game for me is 24 players, it is just far too chaotic most of the time - Feels like Mario Kart Wii and not in a good way haha. I appreciate that is a personal gripe though, definitely prefer MK8D at the moment

Re: Nintendo Expects To Sell 15 Million Switch 2 Consoles This Financial Year

Datasun_7

Seems pretty reasonable to me, successor to a wildly popular system, backwards compatible, significant power bump, pricing of the console is fine compared with the other handhelds, etc etc

I doubt it will have much impact at all but I think it would be nice to have abit more of a roadmap for exclusives, DK, Mario Kart are great but not sure how interesting Kirby Air Riders or Hyrule warriors will be to many people

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Datasun_7

At first I did struggle to see the appeal but in the UK the price difference between proper carts and the game key carts is pretty mad -

You can buy Sonic X Shadow Generations for £38.85 or Yakuza 0 for £39.85 which is a big difference compared with the full cart games like DK Bonanza or Rune Factory Guardians for Azuma which are £66.85 and £59.99 respectively

If sonic cost nearly £30 more but was on a full cart I just wouldn't buy it at all I have to say haha

Re: Poll: Will You Trade In Your Switch When Switch 2 Arrives?

Datasun_7

I'm considering moving my OLED Switch on, but I'd like to know more about the Switch 2 first. Like the screen and if there are legitimate boosts to Switch 1 games (Quicker loading or maxing out resolutions/framerates to their caps)

If first party Switch 1 games (And maybe some of the big third party games) get optimisation patches for Switch 2 then I do struggle to see when I'd even use my OLED

Re: Reaction: There is a Positive Angle to Nintendo's Splatoon Global Testfire Issues

@secret333 Okay this is where a lot of misinformation about this stems from, effectively the servers were open for 5 hours. 1 of those being last night did not work. Every reviewer who has talked about the game has said the servers have been flawless. So why suddenly is everyone saying the game will be broken at launch? Look at all facts and what you are saying doesn't really add up.
