In a modern world with updates and DLC having a complete game on cartridge feels like quite a rarity anyway so I don't personally feel quite so enamoured by proper physical releases as others do
Yes I own Hyrule warriors: Age of Imprisonment on Cartridge but the game is getting at least two free updates (maybe DLC too?) which I will have to download and keep stored on the internal memory (or SD card) if I want a 'complete' experience when the 'servers go down'
I can't see Pokemon Pokopia being safe from updates, DLC, etc etc as is often the way with life sim/cosy games such as this, yes it could be playable from a cartridge (If it had a proper physical release) but it definitely won't be complete
I am looking forward to this game but I do understand why GKC are such an issue for alot of people, I'm sure the argument will rage on until no platform accepts any physical media
I don't mind the performance or visuals (At least in handheld, docked isn't great) but the game just doesn't feel that great to play, it doesn't really feel like you are firing 'guns' at all haha
Might be one to wait for a sale or see full impressions from people who play the finished build etc
Very very happy with this, pretty much saved the Direct for me by itself - Stories 1 and 2 are great and I'm glad to see a couple of Rise monsters in there!
Excited for this, huge improvement from the previous two remakes - With Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma simplifying farming quite looking forward more of a 'pure' farming experience in this one
I know these sorts of games aren't for everyone but this game and Rune Factory have given me so much to play over the Switch 2 launch period, almost too much! The updates for Fantasy Life I have been fantastic too, great post launch support
Hundred Line for me so far, with Rune Factory, Fantasy Life i, Fuga 3 and Stories from Sol: The Gun-dog filling out the rest of the top 5 (I suspect that DK and Legends ZA have a decent chance of being quite up there by the end of the year)
@Keman Sales talk and there is clearly money to be made on Switch 2 just as there was on Switch 1, we will see how it transpires but I think that the Switch 2 will get healthy 3rd party support just as the Switch got
Also, with Sony's Handheld that launches alongside (or just after) the PS6, i think that scalability of games/engines to be playable on the PS handheld will be very important - Which is great news for Switch 2 imo
I do like the mechanics of this game, it isn't perfect but it is fun - This one update is possibly one of the worst things they could have done haha!
Whilst the optics around Nintendo and the Switch 2 are so negative (Online at least) let's really hit the vocal minority who are enjoying Mario Kart World online
I think the roster is good (Though horrendously organised), and with the amount of players using the NPC racers online you can tell that they are a popular inclusion (imo)
Still not convinced this has that much to do with Game key cards, do you think that Yakuza 0 or Sonic Generations would have sold that much better if they were all on cart and £10-15 more expensive? I'd have thought that Rune Factory would have sold better if this was just about game key cards imo
Give it a couple months and then we will see what the 3rd party/Game key card sales look like
@Johnny44 It looks great in my opinion, crisp resolution (I've not pixel counted but definitely at least 1440p), smooth 60fps with very few dips if any, a massive jump from the Switch 1 version
In the last patch they even increased the detail on reflections in the Switch 2 version
Solid 8 out of 10 for me, needs some QOL changes and updates imo
The biggest knock against the game for me is 24 players, it is just far too chaotic most of the time - Feels like Mario Kart Wii and not in a good way haha. I appreciate that is a personal gripe though, definitely prefer MK8D at the moment
Dino Dino Jungle/Laboratory, Airship Fortress and Great Question Block ruins are the current favourites, Though Peach Beach and DK pass are up there too
It's a great line-up of tracks, just wish that there was an option to do the classic style of Grand prix as well!
Glad to see Rune Factory up there, even if it is just outside the top ten - Feels like a long time ago where we all thought the series was dead and buried post RF4
I'm already incredibly overwhelmed with Fantasy life i and Rune Factory Nintendo Switch 2 editions both launching Day 1 - Need to fit in some Mario Kart World too!
I wouldn't say I'm particularly excited but I definitely want Yakuza 0 on Switch 2, would like to be able to play a good handheld port of all of the Yakuza games really! Glad that it is indeed a good port (Hopefully the Dragon Engine Yakuza games run well too in future)
Quite excited for this now (Was abit worried about Switch performance), hoping that I can grab the JP physical copy and then buy the upgrade pack on the PAL eShop (Hopefully there are no issues with that!)
@UltimateOtaku91 The first 100 days are effectively the prologue, you can only get these 100 endings in the "new game plus" that occurs after you've finished the first playthrough
I absolutely love this game, but the recommendation to just find an ending that resonates with you still feels very valid - I cannot imagine seeing every ending without seriously burning out
Seems pretty reasonable to me, successor to a wildly popular system, backwards compatible, significant power bump, pricing of the console is fine compared with the other handhelds, etc etc
I doubt it will have much impact at all but I think it would be nice to have abit more of a roadmap for exclusives, DK, Mario Kart are great but not sure how interesting Kirby Air Riders or Hyrule warriors will be to many people
At first I did struggle to see the appeal but in the UK the price difference between proper carts and the game key carts is pretty mad -
You can buy Sonic X Shadow Generations for £38.85 or Yakuza 0 for £39.85 which is a big difference compared with the full cart games like DK Bonanza or Rune Factory Guardians for Azuma which are £66.85 and £59.99 respectively
If sonic cost nearly £30 more but was on a full cart I just wouldn't buy it at all I have to say haha
I suspect this version will be 60fps like the PS5, etc version, but other than that can't see it actually being that different (Resolution boost too I guess)
I have an inconvenient meeting that runs from 2pm BST to 4pm BST, how could they on Switchmas of all days - Hopefully will grab a link so I see no spoilers after the fact
@omno It's (probably) somewhere between a PS4 and PS4 Pro but with modern tools and hardware advancements available that the PS4 did not have access to (Like the Series S), so I don't think it's just a case of if it didn't run great on PS4 so it won't come to Switch 2
I'm considering moving my OLED Switch on, but I'd like to know more about the Switch 2 first. Like the screen and if there are legitimate boosts to Switch 1 games (Quicker loading or maxing out resolutions/framerates to their caps)
If first party Switch 1 games (And maybe some of the big third party games) get optimisation patches for Switch 2 then I do struggle to see when I'd even use my OLED
I hope it gets a native Switch 2 version as well (Or just improvements to the Switch version when played on 2). Would rather play it on switch 2 than on a Switch or Steam deck if possible!
@secret333 Okay this is where a lot of misinformation about this stems from, effectively the servers were open for 5 hours. 1 of those being last night did not work. Every reviewer who has talked about the game has said the servers have been flawless. So why suddenly is everyone saying the game will be broken at launch? Look at all facts and what you are saying doesn't really add up.

Re: Say Hello To Pauline In Donkey Kong Bananza
This is the sort of game we'd normally have to wait until the holidays for, so glad it is only a month away!
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Direct Revealed For Wednesday, 18th June 2025
Yeah we definitely need to see the full roadmap, a DK trailer in a June direct would have sufficed imo

Good start, hopefully they keep the momentum going because I want as much support from Nintendo & Third Parties as possible!

I'm well up for this, I fell off of multiplayer Splatoon but I did love the Single player campaigns of Splatoon 1 & 2

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: Launch Games - All Day One Releases
The website for Raidou Remastered seems to imply that the Nintendo Switch 2 version is launching the same day as the console
If that is actually true then that would definitely be another launch game for me (As long as it is all on Cart)

Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners

Particularly looking forward to playing (Or replaying I think) the two World Championship Tournament titles included
Re: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Finally Lands New May Release Date

Re: Random: Astro Bot "Almost Outdid Nintendo At Its Own Game", Jokes Reggie
Astro Bot is very good, but I like it more as a fun collectathon rather than a platformer
Astro's moveset really is quite limited and basic compared to the 3D Marios makes it alot less fun to actually platform

Re: Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush Fails to Break Top 20 in UK Charts
Kirby is honestly worth the £25 price tag, better value than Captain Toad and I don't see that dropping in price
