Seems pretty reasonable to me, successor to a wildly popular system, backwards compatible, significant power bump, pricing of the console is fine compared with the other handhelds, etc etc
I doubt it will have much impact at all but I think it would be nice to have abit more of a roadmap for exclusives, DK, Mario Kart are great but not sure how interesting Kirby Air Riders or Hyrule warriors will be to many people
At first I did struggle to see the appeal but in the UK the price difference between proper carts and the game key carts is pretty mad -
You can buy Sonic X Shadow Generations for £38.85 or Yakuza 0 for £39.85 which is a big difference compared with the full cart games like DK Bonanza or Rune Factory Guardians for Azuma which are £66.85 and £59.99 respectively
If sonic cost nearly £30 more but was on a full cart I just wouldn't buy it at all I have to say haha
I suspect this version will be 60fps like the PS5, etc version, but other than that can't see it actually being that different (Resolution boost too I guess)
I have an inconvenient meeting that runs from 2pm BST to 4pm BST, how could they on Switchmas of all days - Hopefully will grab a link so I see no spoilers after the fact
@omno It's (probably) somewhere between a PS4 and PS4 Pro but with modern tools and hardware advancements available that the PS4 did not have access to (Like the Series S), so I don't think it's just a case of if it didn't run great on PS4 so it won't come to Switch 2
I'm considering moving my OLED Switch on, but I'd like to know more about the Switch 2 first. Like the screen and if there are legitimate boosts to Switch 1 games (Quicker loading or maxing out resolutions/framerates to their caps)
If first party Switch 1 games (And maybe some of the big third party games) get optimisation patches for Switch 2 then I do struggle to see when I'd even use my OLED
I hope it gets a native Switch 2 version as well (Or just improvements to the Switch version when played on 2). Would rather play it on switch 2 than on a Switch or Steam deck if possible!
@secret333 Okay this is where a lot of misinformation about this stems from, effectively the servers were open for 5 hours. 1 of those being last night did not work. Every reviewer who has talked about the game has said the servers have been flawless. So why suddenly is everyone saying the game will be broken at launch? Look at all facts and what you are saying doesn't really add up.
@Captain_Gonru Pretty sure they explicitly said they would be free updates in the UK direct. I wouldn't expect any less seeing as some of those stages that are held back have been in trailers since January. Be pretty shady practices if they charged
The pricing model for Splatoon is ridiculous at the moment, $60 in the US? What extra is being sold seriously it just points to how out of touch NOA are and are only pushing Splatoon towards failure. I have preordered here in the UK for £25, that's like $38! Also Yoshi appears to be the same price DKC and hyrule warriors etc at being £30 or around $40 dollars here
@Inkling In an edge interview they confirmed there would be more game modes in ranked battle. Going by your train of thoughts though there should be more modes for regular battle too, as else its just turf war.
Just Kirby physically for me. Really hope it does okay sales-wise because I would quite like to see another Kirby game on the Wii U, I'm assuming judging by Nintendo's silence on the matter that it didn't perform particularly well in America and Japan
@AyeHaley 100% agree, its becoming way more trouble than its worth. When a massive fan is saying that, you know something is being done very very wrong.
The whole amiibo situation is utterly insane. Nintendo don't you understand that you would make more money if you just met demand instead of other people leeching off the unneeded scarcity of certain amiibo? This guy is out of touch, actually Nintendo is out of touch. This is clear to see when the fans, the people who would actually buy these things literally can't. These amiibo do not exist in shops. The ones no-one wants can occasionally be found like Peach, DK and Diddy but thats it really. Not acceptable. Sorry for the rant but i couldn't get the amiibo i wanted from wave 4 (except Lucina), gonna try in stores later today.
Edit: Got the boy and the girl preordered from shopto (if other UK residents are interested, they just went up) Don't really want the squid, not even really sure what it does? I presume the same as the boy and girl, either not bothered about getting that one
This is really pushing it Nintendo, I thought you were learning to do DLC correctly and now this comes up. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens when it is localised
I've been able to just pre-order the ones I want with no problems really. Got 9 so far, another 4 on the way so I guess I haven't really had the same problems a lot of people have had
Pre-ordered the Metallic blue xl with the limited edition game with the figure all for the same price as the xl and limited edition separately so pretty good deal personally
I like how people expected a metroid game to be announced weren't two confirmed to be in the planning stages at E3? Surely you are just setting yourself up for disappointment
I'm excited about the three free playable characters, but not sure if I will buy the dlc packs yet, I'll wait to see the price for all of them together

Re: Review: The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy (Switch) - An Addictive VN & Tactics Blend With Notes Of Persona
Great review, looking forward to playing this one - Do you know how long a playthrough is? Seems abit mental that it has 100 endings haha
Re: Nintendo Switch 2: Launch Games - All Day One Releases
The website for Raidou Remastered seems to imply that the Nintendo Switch 2 version is launching the same day as the console
If that is actually true then that would definitely be another launch game for me (As long as it is all on Cart)

Re: Rhythm Heaven Groove Announced For Switch, Launching 2026
The 2026 date on this and Tomodachi Life is absolutely bizarre, but I'm here for both of them
Can't imagine either will sell well haha
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (February 2025)
I've not played everything (obviously), but it is definitely Stories from Sol: The Gun Dog for me - Wow what a game it is
Re: Review: Omega 6: The Triangle Stars (Switch) - A Fun Throwback Adventure From A Nintendo Veteran
How long is it? Quite tempted to get the European physical release from Clear River Games

Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners
Great review, excited for this one - Even though I haven't been crazy about Yugioh for some time, this era is very nostalgic for me
Particularly looking forward to playing (Or replaying I think) the two World Championship Tournament titles included

Re: Random: Astro Bot "Almost Outdid Nintendo At Its Own Game", Jokes Reggie
Astro Bot is very good, but I like it more as a fun collectathon rather than a platformer
Astro's moveset really is quite limited and basic compared to the 3D Marios makes it alot less fun to actually platform

You can but Splatoon hats on Nintendo's UK store too! Pretty interesting headgear haha
Re: Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush Fails to Break Top 20 in UK Charts
Kirby is honestly worth the £25 price tag, better value than Captain Toad and I don't see that dropping in price
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th May (Europe)
Preordered Codename Steam, so just that for me this week
Re: Out Now: Kirby And The Rainbow Paintbrush
Hopefully should be able to play it this evening! But revision is my priority for now

Re: Nintendo Teams Up With Loot Crate To Deliver amiibo Subscription Service
@Tsurii897 the weapon for Zelda isn't a new weapon like the spinner though apparently, that was a mistranslation I think
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th November (Europe)
Already pre-purchased the MK dlc really looking forward to that, might buy stealth inc 2 this week as well
