NL can't report on positive news if there isn't any. Yes this looks like it is a great game, and its a shame it isn't selling well in japan, but Nintendo is the only one to blame if it bombs worldwide
As it was a direct focused on games releasing before the end of spring, i didn't expect any new retail games. So i enjoyed it, the ssb4 reveal was awesome, the 3ds section sucked and dragged, and then an awesome tropical freeze and mk 8 trailer to finish up. Nintendo will obviously be saving its reveals for e3 when the rest of the world, and not just Nintendo fans will be watching. I think its going to be like last year tbh, a sparse first half of the year and then a slightly packed holiday season. Nintendo are lucky that microsoft and sony's release schedule is only abit better.
Fair play to the last of us well deserved. Tbh Sm3dw wasn't really special enough to win game of the year, dont get me wrong it was good though and definately deserved the award it got
looking at the list at the end was actually pretty depressing as a recent wii u owner. Yes i have no doubt mario kart will be good, etc, but the wii u will not survive another drought, it will give an even more negative perception to gamers. i really nintendo do what they did this year and annouce some games for a wii u a couple months before launch like they did with the 3ds because else well you know what will happen
@Jamesy2013 i agree, I think people are in denial if they think the Uk does not like Nintendo/colour. Let's not forget Mario Kart wii and how well 3ds software/hardware has done this year.
The wii U is in serious trouble, there is no doubt about it. I genuinely cannot see a turnaround for the console. If 3d mario didn't do enough then another rehashed smash and mario kart will definitely not. They need to appeal to core gamers again, donkey kong will not do that. They need mature ips and metroid and star fox and more. Well i dont regret buying the console but seriously nintendo if you pull support of the console i wont be happy
I find it funny that for a long time the biggest criticism of the wii u was its lack of games, yet thousands of people have already picked up a psbox. I think this genuinely shows how the market has changed, the ps and xbox brand being far more significant to western audiences than nintendos. I fail to see how nintendo can ever grab western audiences next year with the few exclusive games announced. This news again reaffirms my suspicions that the wii u will only possibly do well in Japan :/ Not trying to put a downer on this good news btw
I added to that also while it is an improvement which is good news, I don't see how it couldn't be ideally more sales are needed to establish the console before its true competition show themselves
@unrandomsam IMHO origins was better and more original than any recent platformer I have played. And legends looks to be better. Why the hate for UbiSoft anyway? They are the only ones actually supporting the Wii u this year.
Well to be fair a moderate amount of modern AAA games are dummed down, and are a lot easier. I don't think it is just tablet mobile are creating talentless players, I don't think you can just throw the blame at mobiles and tablets
@Marshi I don't even have a Wii u I love it when a game has such awesome praise behind it from the people who matter, the fans. All I was suggesting is that it is most definitely one of the best games of the generation, but I would side more with the original BioShock tbh. But it is awesome to see a game with universal praise also it would be awesome to see Nintendo go all out with a storyline one day maybe the next metroid perhaps?
@Paperchema its already been translated, it's available on steam in European countries, so the problem is not a translation delay. Really would like this game now NOE, please I would buy a Wii u
@Royalblues some people on here aren't just Nintendo fans you know including me. But I will give you that most are which is why it gets so much hate, probably
For me local multiplayer is essential, I absolutely love it. But not so much online, it doesn't click with me the same way sitting round a TV with mates does
@TobiasAmaranth star fox would not work in a gritty storyline. They are animals. Tell me how it could be their 'call of duty'. For a new gritty series, it has to be metroid or something brand new. No way star fox, that would kill it
Kinda obvious statement to make really, but I don't think that fact guaranties the Wii u failure. As many people have said the Wii was the same, I had two consoles as well last gen
@Beppeoioi they might do, it all depends on price let's be honest. If the PS/box are £400/500 then expect to see a lot a new Wii u owners this Christmas
I like Xbox, but the whole DRM rumours have really put me off. I have like no interest in it now, even if it is not actually drm . Ps4 and Wii u on the otherhand...
Really hyped for this might get this instead of animal crossing, as I really enjoyed friends of mineral town on the GBA when I was a kid, might get tale of two towns until it comes out, to anyone who has played it is it any good? Thanks
