Re: Fortnite's Simpsons Collab Is Now Live, Watch New "Mini Episodes" Every Week

Dang_69

@benmalsky198 you don't have to believe me, just look it up. It was widely reported (it was the lowest in 2 years not 7 tho, was just under a million players on average) And you could tell when you logged in because it shows the actual live numbers for the modes. Also I guess if you love every single IP ever then you'll never have an issue when an entire season is devoted to it

@benmalsky198 @benmalsky198 they are overbearing when they dominate a season or a mini season. Look what happened with that Star Wars mini season. I think it had all time lowest player count in 7 years (edit: it was in 2 years). I hardly played the Marvel season last year because I hated that meta and how it was informed by super hero powers. So I'm not talking about IP crossover in general being overbearing in the game, just when they make it dominate a season.

@JayJ of all the games that are live service Fortnite is the most friendly. You literally never have to spend a dollar in this game and have access to everything. You could spend like 9 USD every few months and get a battle pass full of stuff. This isn't Warzone where youre buying weapon blueprints with real world money for load outs only good for the current meta, or gacha like Zenless Zone Zero where you spend 100s to roll for characters that play well in the season meta. This game is harmless in the micro transactions department. But I will say I've played this game for like 6 years and am tired of all the overbearing season collabs. Especially since it's so Disney dominated (Simpsons, Marvel, Star Wars etc).

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Orders Live, Switch 2 Pro Controller And Amiibo Confirmed

Dang_69

@dark_beer_alchemist the back buttons are decent on it, but having the dpad on it be almost as bad as the switch 1 pro controller was a deal breaker for me and I returned mine after a few days of use. Also while the sticks feel awesome and fluid, the initial tilt from center movement of the sticks takes a slightly longer travel distance to read the input which makes them dog crap for any kind of shooting game like Cyberpunk or Fortnite. But like I said if the dpad was good I would kept it. Total bummer.

Re: The Binding Of Isaac Is Heading To Switch 2 With A Full Physical Release

Dang_69

@BenAV I'm ok with buying this game a 3rd time (Switch Rebirth +, then the Repentance physical, then this new edition ion) but I just want save data to carry over. Im sure the physical edition I have cannot be upgraded (even if they offered it), cuz when you hit the plus button on the icon and ask it to take you to the eShop, it says the version I have doesn't exist (do it to being a unique all in one physical edition of Repentance).

Re: The Binding Of Isaac Is Heading To Switch 2 With A Full Physical Release

Dang_69

This upgrade is already available and had a physical release of the full package a couple years back (though I think the online stuff is new), I got the physical Switch 1 version limited release (directly from Nicalis it wasn't in stores). I wonder if saves carry over? I doubt the Switch 1 physical of Repentance + will get an upgrade as that version doesn't even show up on the eshop if you search for it (you have to buy rebirth then the dlc to get it digitally). I hope saves transfer - I do not want to start over lol.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Updated To Version 1.1.4, Improves Gameplay On Switch 2

Dang_69

@LazyDaisy definetly not in the near future. Remember if someone who didn't have a Switch in 2020 wants to play Mario 64 or Sunshine they have to pay for expansion Online subscription. That incentive is more important to them than re releasing these, since they want to grow that service. Almost exactly a year after All Stars released, they launched the N64 online app.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Scored US' Biggest Physical Game Launch Since TOTK

Dang_69

Too bad they didn't put more budget into making the city feel alive, vibrant and varied. It's bland and boring and yet....this game is extremely good once you get past the intro and the initial set of wild zones. I love it and this is coming from a guy who skipped S&V, so I'm not a hardcore Pokemans. I love the new battle system and got addicted to the gameplay loop.

Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

Dang_69

ZA is like 100x better than those other crappy Switch Pokemon games. Yeah being stuck in a bland city is a bummer but the gameplay and gameplay loop is actually really good and the character models look way better than Scarlett

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct #2: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate it?

Dang_69

All the rewards and gameplay options and systems and customizable stuff just make Mario Kart World look like old and ancient in comparison. This feels like a modern game. However the fact there is only one city trial map and only 18 regular racing tracks makes me worried this will get pretty repetitious. But think this Direct might have sold me.

Re: Feature: "We Have Absolutely No Intention Of Neglecting Her" - Persona 3 Reload Devs On FeMC And Porting To Switch 2

Dang_69

@Suketoudara it's still a full priced, 30fps and soft looking 1080 (1080 can look crisper than that) for not that demanding graphically of a game. And I'll believe the fps patch when I see it, this was a response in an interview not like a press statement/promise. I have no clue why they'd put up a demo so close to release with bad performance if they were fixing it so soon. My point was of course porting is smooth sailing when their target is so low

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Switch 2 Trailer Introduces Shinra, The Turks & Avalanche

Dang_69

@topsekret you're overreacting. While I bet if this was only a 60 gb game, they still would have used a keycard, this is a big game and I'm glad they didn't crunch it down. The loss of 40ish gb probably would have had a huge negative consequence. Just so you know I have not yet supported any keycards and have only bought what was available physically. If a game is a key card in the future I'll wait for a sale and get it digitally. I'm just saying that this one specific case should have been there reason keycards for invented, meaning only for games that couldn't fit on the 64 gb ones.

Re: Nintendo Goes Full Pixar In Strange New Animated Short Film, 'Close To You'

Dang_69

@SBandy1 to clarify I don't think this is AI based at all. Was just referencing that generic "Pixar but not Pixar-lookong style." That aesthetic has been completely dominated by AI slop so when I see this knockoff art direction my brain just associates it with it now. Companies gotta come up with a new spin. When that gets scrapped all to hell, do something new again.
