@SpaceboyScreams rework the manga continuation that Toriyama oversaw, tweak things so it takes place after Super Hero, rework the bad storytelling tropes of Toyataro (spelling) and end it with a fight with Black Frieza. Give it good animation and there ya go
Sucks. I just finished it this Sunday. I waited two weeks for a patch then couldn't stand it anymore and forced my eyeballs thru that awful camera hitching.
@Jarodlaraus the other consoles are not GKC. Yes there are some games that are like that but most aren't. Some article online calculated this numbers for ps4/5 and it was like 80 percent of retail releases were full on disc. And if you're confusing having to load your disc on the hard drive versus what a GKC you're just a silly person
@ShieldHero I'm about 55 hours in and just started chapter 4 of the game and can say there isn't a lot of opportunities in this game to want to utilize 1st person mode compared to the other Trails games, in manner to which you speak lol. Would have loved that performance mode tho. The camera stuttering gives me a headache.
Not sure why you'd want first person on the Switch 2 version, characters look nice but the environments ain't so hot. Why would you want to zoom in on them more?
@topsekret you're overreacting. While I bet if this was only a 60 gb game, they still would have used a keycard, this is a big game and I'm glad they didn't crunch it down. The loss of 40ish gb probably would have had a huge negative consequence. Just so you know I have not yet supported any keycards and have only bought what was available physically. If a game is a key card in the future I'll wait for a sale and get it digitally. I'm just saying that this one specific case should have been there reason keycards for invented, meaning only for games that couldn't fit on the 64 gb ones.
@topsekret this is one of the rare instances where a keycard is ok. It's almost 100 gb, meaning there is literally no option for them to put this on a card. And it's only 40 bucks.
@SBandy1 to clarify I don't think this is AI based at all. Was just referencing that generic "Pixar but not Pixar-lookong style." That aesthetic has been completely dominated by AI slop so when I see this knockoff art direction my brain just associates it with it now. Companies gotta come up with a new spin. When that gets scrapped all to hell, do something new again.
I think this is them just showing off that new animation studio they bought. That said companies like this gotta realize that doing Pixar like animation styles just feel like AI slop at this point.
This game just screams boring. Maybe I'd be hyped for this if they patched the previous Warriors game. I played about 30 minutes of it before the visuals and performance made me turn it off.
Lackluster repackaging of these games but whatever, what really kills me is how bad the the gyro is. The loss of a Wii remote style point just makes they games not feel great.
@JGC1200 definetly would have been an even bigger downgrade in asset quality at the very least. I see this in Switch 2 editions of Azuma and Fantasy Life and Trails in the Sky, where it's just a pretty basic upgrade from an already compromised version.
@Nintendo4Sonic @Divide_and_Wander also DO NOT buy Lexar cards!!!! Stick with SanDisk, and Samsung secondly. SANDISK performs the best, and Samsung is close. Look it up.
@Divide_and_Wander Get Fantasy Life, Azuma is surprisingly underwhelming visually compared to even the Steam Deck. Found the gameplay nothing special either. Only get Cyberpunk if you mostly play handheld, the Rez looks great there and the VRR smooths out the frames greatly, especially if in the city or in the desert or any big open area. The docked performance is not good unless you're in a linear story section, no matter how much ppl glow up this port online. Fantasy Life is a little rough on Switch 2 also compared to the Steam Deck, but it's pretty and super addictive.
Definitely the best visual showing for this game, minus some bad textures in spots the fidelity looks great...but from a pure art direction standpoint it still looks so bland. Also I can't help but feel like being stuck in a city the whole time will get boring. But I'm willing to give this a shot. The mechanics look fun. Skipped Scarlett and Violet so hopefully this pulls me back into the series.
@Truegamer79 you're wrong actually. These games were 50 US dollars when released. So 100 bucks for both. They were also released as Nintendo Selects on the same console.
So I find the docked experience pretty nauseating on the Switch 2 edition. Extremely awful camera hitching or stuttering when moving the camera around and the more open areas don't seem to run above 35-40 fps. Extremely unstable. I noticed this much less in handheld but some of it is still there. I've seen others echo this online so I'm not insane.the game also seems to missing the performance and quality modes described in the eshop. I wonder, because I have the physical card that upgraded to the Switch 2 edition, is this causing some performance issues ppl like the reviewer are not experiencing? Are they 100 percent running it off of internal storage or the SD card? I'm so confused lol
Played it on Series X when it came out and it was definetly not the best looking or animated game even there. But the tone of it was such a fresh of air in the face of the Nu Trek slop. Here's hoping that new Voyager game is good too.
@Kamen-S 30 fps is literally half the time for inputs to register. Also for most ppl, as the human eyes sees at 60 Hz, a 60 fps refresh is much more smooth to look at. For me with 30 I feel like I just hyper notice what is missing. That said I can deal with it in some RPGs and stuff. But it feels gross in anything platform based. Even if you don't notice it with your eyes your hands can tell the difference. I've been playing Fortnite for years in 120 fps. One day it defaulted to 60, didn't realize it (because visually it'll look mostly the same as 60, just smoother), and thought something was wrong the servers because the game felt slippery.
Glad to see it taking the top spot if you add the Sales together...but not they really need to give us a patch for the Switch 2 edition. It was supposed to have a quality and performance mode...but as the game runs now (just Switch 2 edition) there is completely unacceptable camera hitching in addition to it running like 40 fps in the opening section when you leave the house. I put the game down until they patch it.
@cedarhyped I'm not saying it's a bad port at all. But ppl always reference it as this gold standard of what the switch 2 can do when comparing it to other. And I'm just saying that in the city, the desert open area it runs extremely poorly docked. I think it was designed for VRR docked which obviously isn't a thing
Respect for them getting all on a true physical card. It's the reason I bought it at launch...but man I think it's been greatly exaggerated how "well" this runs on Switch 2. In handheld, with the smaller screen and VRR it looks great. But on a big TV, docked it runs and looks really poor in the city and open areas. Unstable frame rate, and the resolution does not scale. Then you an indoors story mission and the games looks and runs well again. But for big chunks of the game docked, it's really really unpleasant to play
One of things I praised Nintendo for was how amazing their customer service was. Not we're gonna get a situation like Xbox where it's absolutely awful and nearly impossible t talk to anyone on the phone.
@breach187 because one example is pandering built around a show built for pandering. The other is a random soap opera traditionally meant for moms or grandma's - it's random and awesome.
@TheExile285 I'm thinking a lot of companies just recently got kits. Inticreates announced yesterday they were doing a Switch 2 version for one other games. Also I think one issue has been, smaller companies aside, is that bigger companies did get dev kits but not enough for all their teams.
@Telcontyr agree with everything you're saying but would add that the Switch 2 isn't as powerful as the Series S in like raw CPU power but it's graphics architecture is more modern so if a publisher takes time, and it is the right kind of game, it could look better in many ways. Like SF6 looks better on Switch 2 for the 1v1. Also I think Nintendo made Retro throw in the open areas late int he game. I juuuuuuust got a feeling that Nintendo knew what they're 2025 lineup was turning out to be and was like oh crap we have 2 racing games and we need our breath of the wild moment in an adventure game this year. And yes when they did the closeups of her getting into the bike it knocked the wind out of me by how bad it looked. Truly worried about this game.
The issue here first and foremost before any discussions of open zone areas is just how bad and boring and empty and unappealing the desert area looked and the concerning fact that the way they highlighted it was a good idea. The whole trailer in general felt like a big visual downgrade in rendering and lighting and textures compared to what we've seen before
Switch 2 has had an issue with game releases. But it looks like now, thru this fall until next spring we will get constant and substantial releases. But the past few months since launch have been a bore.
@krogp the fact they are only selling this for 40 dollars and includes the dlc and is a game over 100 gb, this is literally the only instance where I'm not mad about the game key card.

@PinballBuzzbro FighterZ is legit good. But I agree with you on every else just being mid or a rehash.
