Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Scored US' Biggest Physical Game Launch Since TOTK

Dang_69

Too bad they didn't put more budget into making the city feel alive, vibrant and varied. It's bland and boring and yet....this game is extremely good once you get past the intro and the initial set of wild zones. I love it and this is coming from a guy who skipped S&V, so I'm not a hardcore Pokemans. I love the new battle system and got addicted to the gameplay loop.

Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

Dang_69

ZA is like 100x better than those other crappy Switch Pokemon games. Yeah being stuck in a bland city is a bummer but the gameplay and gameplay loop is actually really good and the character models look way better than Scarlett

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct #2: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate it?

Dang_69

All the rewards and gameplay options and systems and customizable stuff just make Mario Kart World look like old and ancient in comparison. This feels like a modern game. However the fact there is only one city trial map and only 18 regular racing tracks makes me worried this will get pretty repetitious. But think this Direct might have sold me.

Re: Feature: "We Have Absolutely No Intention Of Neglecting Her" - Persona 3 Reload Devs On FeMC And Porting To Switch 2

Dang_69

@Suketoudara it's still a full priced, 30fps and soft looking 1080 (1080 can look crisper than that) for not that demanding graphically of a game. And I'll believe the fps patch when I see it, this was a response in an interview not like a press statement/promise. I have no clue why they'd put up a demo so close to release with bad performance if they were fixing it so soon. My point was of course porting is smooth sailing when their target is so low

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Switch 2 Trailer Introduces Shinra, The Turks & Avalanche

Dang_69

@topsekret you're overreacting. While I bet if this was only a 60 gb game, they still would have used a keycard, this is a big game and I'm glad they didn't crunch it down. The loss of 40ish gb probably would have had a huge negative consequence. Just so you know I have not yet supported any keycards and have only bought what was available physically. If a game is a key card in the future I'll wait for a sale and get it digitally. I'm just saying that this one specific case should have been there reason keycards for invented, meaning only for games that couldn't fit on the 64 gb ones.

Re: Nintendo Goes Full Pixar In Strange New Animated Short Film, 'Close To You'

Dang_69

@SBandy1 to clarify I don't think this is AI based at all. Was just referencing that generic "Pixar but not Pixar-lookong style." That aesthetic has been completely dominated by AI slop so when I see this knockoff art direction my brain just associates it with it now. Companies gotta come up with a new spin. When that gets scrapped all to hell, do something new again.

Re: Atlus Rules Out Persona 3 Reload Switch Port

Dang_69

@JGC1200 definetly would have been an even bigger downgrade in asset quality at the very least. I see this in Switch 2 editions of Azuma and Fantasy Life and Trails in the Sky, where it's just a pretty basic upgrade from an already compromised version.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Gets Another Switch 2 Patch, Further Improves Performance And Visuals

Dang_69

@Divide_and_Wander Get Fantasy Life, Azuma is surprisingly underwhelming visually compared to even the Steam Deck. Found the gameplay nothing special either. Only get Cyberpunk if you mostly play handheld, the Rez looks great there and the VRR smooths out the frames greatly, especially if in the city or in the desert or any big open area. The docked performance is not good unless you're in a linear story section, no matter how much ppl glow up this port online. Fantasy Life is a little rough on Switch 2 also compared to the Steam Deck, but it's pretty and super addictive.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Gets A 6-Minute Overview Trailer For Switch 2

Dang_69

Definitely the best visual showing for this game, minus some bad textures in spots the fidelity looks great...but from a pure art direction standpoint it still looks so bland. Also I can't help but feel like being stuck in a city the whole time will get boring. But I'm willing to give this a shot. The mechanics look fun. Skipped Scarlett and Violet so hopefully this pulls me back into the series.

Re: Review: Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Comprehensive Update Of A Classic Series Opener

Dang_69

So I find the docked experience pretty nauseating on the Switch 2 edition. Extremely awful camera hitching or stuttering when moving the camera around and the more open areas don't seem to run above 35-40 fps. Extremely unstable. I noticed this much less in handheld but some of it is still there. I've seen others echo this online so I'm not insane.the game also seems to missing the performance and quality modes described in the eshop. I wonder, because I have the physical card that upgraded to the Switch 2 edition, is this causing some performance issues ppl like the reviewer are not experiencing? Are they 100 percent running it off of internal storage or the SD card? I'm so confused lol

Re: Yooka-Replaylee Runs At 30fps On Switch 2, Team Investigating Performance Mode

Dang_69

@Kamen-S 30 fps is literally half the time for inputs to register. Also for most ppl, as the human eyes sees at 60 Hz, a 60 fps refresh is much more smooth to look at. For me with 30 I feel like I just hyper notice what is missing. That said I can deal with it in some RPGs and stuff. But it feels gross in anything platform based. Even if you don't notice it with your eyes your hands can tell the difference. I've been playing Fortnite for years in 120 fps. One day it defaulted to 60, didn't realize it (because visually it'll look mostly the same as 60, just smoother), and thought something was wrong the servers because the game felt slippery.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Remain Steady Amidst Trails In The Sky Surge

Dang_69

Glad to see it taking the top spot if you add the Sales together...but not they really need to give us a patch for the Switch 2 edition. It was supposed to have a quality and performance mode...but as the game runs now (just Switch 2 edition) there is completely unacceptable camera hitching in addition to it running like 40 fps in the opening section when you leave the house. I put the game down until they patch it.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Highlights The Switch 2's Remarkable Versatility

Dang_69

Respect for them getting all on a true physical card. It's the reason I bought it at launch...but man I think it's been greatly exaggerated how "well" this runs on Switch 2. In handheld, with the smaller screen and VRR it looks great. But on a big TV, docked it runs and looks really poor in the city and open areas. Unstable frame rate, and the resolution does not scale. Then you an indoors story mission and the games looks and runs well again. But for big chunks of the game docked, it's really really unpleasant to play
