@yohn777 the comment he made is in reply to an article about free upgrades for Switch games. How else would one take it? And for transparency I've been pretty bored on Switch 2, but it isn't like these free upgrades were replacing brand new releases in the Switch 2 release schedule.

You got it backwards, it's not a "burden" of legacy on "good enough" games, the legacy is blessing for "good enough" games that would be likely passed over or forgotten. No one would have given two poops about this game if it didn't have a legacy name "attached." Outside of some of the art direction and sound design there is nothing "remarkable" about this game and quite a lot about it that is just kind of boring or frustrating.

@EarthboundBenjy Chip n Dale is super fun if you're a little kid playing with your sibling, but it doesn't hold up if you're older. If you like Mega Man tho Darkwing Duck is great

Shadow drop for the next Nintendo direct

This and Fire Emblem are my 2 most anticipated games this year. Huge Voyager fan. Hoping the Switch 2 version runs really good or I'll play elsewhere.

@Arjyl that's exactly what was I thinking. I work in advertising and use that generative fill option in Photoshop to help me edit stuff in small doses, then I go in a edit that fill by hand. However, I can't find imagine any AD or CD signing off on that thumb, even if it was 100 percent natural. My boss would have teased me for letting that thru to a social team to post lol.

Splatfests are so boring in Splatoon 3. Shiftystations in Splatoon 2 really made it feel special....otherwise it's basically just turf war weekend and tricolor recycling maps. Hopefully they give splatfests a massive overhaul in Splatoon 4

At the very least, this goal they speak of means we will get a Switch 2 edition. Prob a 10 dollar upgrade and full retail release. If games feel heavily rebuilt I totally don't mind paying for Switch 2 upgrades.

@Shade_Koopa my girlfriend and her daughter always use the Hulu app on their Switch. You'd be surprised how many people who aren't of the terminally online sort like us don't even have tvs with smart features on it. I think a lot of the wider switch audience is like that.

Not showing up in North America yet. Also do we know if the demo is a going to be a Switch 2 version and a Switch 1 version? Back when Romancing Saga released a Switch 2 edition, if you downloaded the demo off the Switch 2 page it still gave you the Switch 1 demo version.

@vio they edited it out. If you look in the comments a NL staff member responded to me and they removed it from the article. It originally referred to Raiders and said something like "2026 (that means this year!)".

Where was it confirmed Splatoon Raiders comes out in 2026? Did I miss something? Edit: nope this is just sloppy reporting again. I checked and it still has not been given a release window.

@SirLink why do people feel the need to make comments like yours, in "what I should enjoy" and "how I should enjoy it"? Total toxic "positivity". It's not ridiculous either to look at things the 360 version of this game did much better in shadows and lighting and feeling like this port wasn't a full effort. For my money, minus the fidelity, the 360 version looks better. When the launch trailer came out for this, my first thought was "I thought this game looked better than this back in the day." Was surprised when I looked at comparison videos that I was right.

@Duncanballs or how about adding back in all the shadows and great lighting they removed that was in the 360 version. Even tho it's lower fidelity that game actually looks better, in my opinion

My neighbor had this game as a kid, truly awful game but in those days you'd rotate between the limited stuff you had and would play whatever was available to ya.

@Anachronism I was not getting this on Switch 2 but that 90 dollar pack is tempting enough that if the games run well (not a sure thing with Capcom these days) and have gyro I'll buy. But no gyro no buy.

I hope they do new MM and X Legacy collections at some point with better latency.

@HalBailman you're entitled to your opinion but for me it only at times feels like a Metroid game. The NPCs should have been the least of my worries.

@BTB20 the game is mid. Linear. Boring. Annoying. Padded out fetch quests and traversal screens. Nice graphics tho. Total definition of mid for me

I hope the Prime 4 numbers are low like these across all regions. Beautiful art direction aside (the concept artists in particular should be promoted to a good company like Monolith), this game should not be rewarded for the slop it is. If that means not getting another Prime, so be it. Prime 4 is worse than nothing imo.

Prime 4 not being in the top ten is accurate. What a frustratingly mid game.

I don't think the series has a villain problem, having one larger overarching enemy is kind of cheesy. I think they've handled it well in the years since Wesker. Kind of surprised by this article, didn't know this was a complaint amongst ppl. I mean Resident Evil 8 in particular was full of memorable villains. I also like the direction they've headed in with the games standing more on their own with a light touch of continuity.

The GBA library still needs so much love. Crazy how few games are on it and the GameCube.

@FlyingDunsparce they're not playable without accessories. They've stated this a bunch of times. The image provided by the app is made to work with the lenses.

Beautiful art direction. Abysmal, boringly overly linear level design. Annoying characters that break immersion and direct you were to go. Fantastic sound design and solid music. Green crystal padding and an awful, empty desert. 4 or 5 out of 10.

@LinktotheFuture so even in Kirby it'd just boot the Switch version. I thought that was integrated in the whole retail release.

@dartmonkey I wonder how that is possible with games like Kirby and The Forgotten Land and Mario Party? There's content in those designed specifically for Switch 2.

This gives credence to some reviewers thinking the desert section was outsourced to a different dev group.

@gazamataz haha - you're being wild - never once did I state or imply you or others couldn't like this game, or that every game had to be for me - just stated why it doesn't work for people like me, who hold sacred some core aspects of what has made Metroid great, in tone, and atmosphere and it makes it challenging for a lot of us to consider getting this game. But It's plain weird how personally hurt you're getting by this. It's like I was critical of a family member in your mind, that's incredible brand loyalty! Also I don't see how these are "tiny changes." I mean that just seems objectively false.

@Flashlink99 I dated a girl who couldn't tell the difference between 30 and 60. But she's get motion sick from 30 fps games with me. Always found that interesting. Of course I've ruined my eyes by playing Fortnite constantly in 120 fps, and making them conditioned to it to point where I'm seeing 60 fps as being "not smooth" anymore. I regret it so much lol.

@Yalloo I feel like we are going to get one out of those 3 options and one of them is definitely not a physical all on the card. Makes me sad.

Even if they get this running smooth and improve the visuals, I just don't know if I can handle this in only 30 fps. But it's portable!!! Torn on this. Really need that 60 for inputs being crispy.

Best game in the series despite some odd choices (I like some degree of fan service in games but man that bunny boob lady Blade is gross lol). Hope this gets an upgrade because I find it unplayable on a big modern display. Was even kind if rough on my old, small 1080p screen back in the day, let alone the disaster it was in handheld mode.
