@Don i can't remember if it was in box or maybe could mail something in but there was a poster as well, hung on my brother's wall for years. Doubt we'd go out of our way to get it at that age but my memory is fuzzy
@SillyG new GB games tend to be released digitally too, so could likely play this one on PC. I usually use my Everdrive gba because sorry, $50 isn't in my budget for them. But i agree with you overall
Having skipped out on the Mario Rpg remake (played it a million times) this looks promising. Just that DQ3 remake comes out around same time and this will have to wait. Hope everyone enjoys regardless
@LadyCharlie I'm not dunking on Botw, but when ppl say like "I'm 400 hrs in and still exploring" it's too daunting for me. I know you can cater your own playthrough, but just the thought of it is really not my style. Agree about repeating shorties being good for my lifestyle
He's an idiot but it's the equivalent of telling a kid "hey even Michael Jordan had some bad b-ball games." I didn't think he was doing a hard comparison to the Beatles, idk, the replies seem to be beside his (idiotic) point
@TheBigK banana Mania was my first entry and it didn't grab me like I'd hoped. I can't comment what was better in the GC versions although I got the impression ppl weren't impressed with mechanics. Even personal tastes, idk how much I liked it. There were fun levels but incredibly short and some were beyond frustrating to nail. Overall never wanted to play more than maybe an hour at a time. Just my impression! Might pick up Rumble on a sale so still picques the interest in some way
@Pillowpants I see, definitely a gray area and interesting points. I'd probably get abstract or need to look at copyright jargon to express my point, but I'll save us both the headache interesting topic overall though, for many reasons
@Pillowpants I don't disagree with you on listening on YT but "owning the game means owning the music" sounds a little off. Does the same go for movies as well? OK to just pirate any indie band whose music was featured in a film? I agree Nintendo is behind the times in providing a convenient way to listen to OSTs, go pirate as much as needed, but feeling entitled that you own the OST since you own the game doesn't sit right
@trcsf I agree it's not the same. I enjoy a lot of online play myself, but for a game like this where the online scene isnt robust and the AI bosses are dirt cheap (apparently, I haven't played), it doesn't give me a lot of reason to snag it, at least at full price
@LikelySatan I played not long after launch and during the final boss, it looked like a tack hammer smashed my screen, plus slo-mo etc. It was a wreck but I'm open to playing again (after this update's done)
Nah after 4+ years I'm finally settling in with mine, it's a keeper. But down to get an upgrade. I have a wishlist I'm still trying to get through more than an actual backlog
I don't have a problem with LRG in practice but waiting that long might take away from some of the online matches happening (maybe not?). Still undecided
@Roibeard64 good call on the separate players. I already have a modest blu ray collection of some essentials, randomly have a free player from a friend, and would probably get a new player if that one goes kerplunk. But as years go on I imagine the market will widdle down moreso, maybe not attracting as many starting a new collection and yeah, taking players out of the consoles would only make collecting more 'niche' or whatever
@Roibeard64 I don't have data or figures so dont even consider this an educated guess. I assume numbers aren't what they used to be, but part of me thinks (hopes) Bluray/dvd might survive the long haul. This is based solely on the amount of niche and re-released (including new cuts of) movies that publishing companies continue to roll out but may not be able to put out on major streaming services. All just a guess. I do understand ppl don't buy dvds casually like they used to
Tried Streets of Rage for the 1st time (idk how I've put it off for this many decades). Super awesome, got to Round 6 before getting my butt wooped. Will play more SoR's from the Genesis collection, see if anything of interest on NSO, and pick away at Skyward Sword
@AccessibleDaydream that's peculiar. I didn't do any Tri colors myself, but i also think I didn't have (m)any mirror matches. It was comical at some point playing against Theme Parks that many times in a row. Ah well, hope you had fun anyway, I def did
@Jack_Goetz I was team beach, played for about 4 hrs on Friday and didn't play a single Palace team. Not once. Not sure what that means but was incredibly odd
@Vyacheslav333 doesn't seem like common knowledge for non-Japanese speakers to get that right every single time it occurs. Doesn't really detract from the article either
Mother 3. It really hit me on the initial playthrough and I'd like to preserve that. I think after a few years when most details have vanished from my memory is when I'd be good to give it another go
@LadyCharlie also if you're blind buying a game for 60 bucks that you have no clue about because maybe the box looked cool and didn't research then yeah my sympathy is absent there
@LadyCharlie average consumers can do their research, still their fault. And/or they just don't care and will pay 60 bucks anyway, maybe they have kids.
Continuing with Skyward Sword after clearing the first major temple, loving it so far. Surprisingly started a new run of Ghosts n Goblins Resurrected on knight mode. Brutal but very fun and rewarding when I advance
@Anti-Matter I myself have played many online hours with friends and otherwise. The NSO games themselves are not ones I necessarily want to own (like how many more times do I need to play Donkey Kong Country?) But they're nice to have handy and I've tried many that I never played but would not have purchased if they weren't on NSO. I get the argument from many standpoints though, I've just gotten a lot of value from my time from it.
Do repros/bootlegs often get a kickstarter at all? I know they're prevalent but didn't know people did KS for them, especially with extra rewards. I'm naive about this stuff
@Noelemahc at least for reviews, I think they isolate the game at hand from surrounding, non-gameplay issues. Rereleasing may be bad business but nothing further, in fact the changes are listed as a positive. Which is slightly different (I think) than when Nintendo re-releases are given 'cons' like they offer little content if you own the original version. I'm likely wrong or off course but I tried
Unfortunately don't want to read too much in order to preserve my own experience, but that's awesome they're putting out a new game. Gris was really well executed and to hear their newest will be just as impressive is terrific
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. Got it at a good price randomly and now I can put the 'should i get TTYD, SMRPG or Luigis Mansion 2?' debate on hold for a while. Have a great weekend folks
I wanted to like Banana Mania but it became increasingly luck-based and I grew uninterested. I did enjoy it at times but I'll likely pass on this unless the reviews are overwhelmingly posititve
@Beetlebum91 i see what you mean, but then it's like why even get on these Nintendo sites n such to begin with? NL soapboxes have writers reflect on games they play, sometimes it feels like on a molecular level. How many quirky ones from Kate n Co. have we seen on random subjects? Figure at some point they'd catch a topic of finding representation in a game. Idk I'm def not arguing, just random thoughts, don't think it's that far out there for a topic imo
I haven't previously played many of the titles getting re-released so it's a bullet I'm willing to bite every once in a while. I'd maybe be in the other boat if I already played them so I get that side too.
I went down a rabbit hole to see how much one of the western Lego sets I had sold for in 1996. Msrp says 84.99 (i thought it was 99.99), which I believe makes it +/- $170 now. Nothing to sneeze at. So based off my very narrow thinking, given that this is a two-fer of a Nintendo product (although a tad paltry? Looks great though), I guess I can see where they got this price from. But ouch, that'd hurt the wallet
@TheBitBandit I'm like that too, but there's a ton of content in Stardew that you might not catch or be able to pursue in your first playthrough. I would recommend just jumping in if you're in the mood, but I respect the wait

This is really good to know. I've taken a T.O. on gaming and figured I'll be in the mood come holidays so this is perfect
