Re: Sega Focused On North American Audiences For Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble

CammyUnofficial

@TheBigK banana Mania was my first entry and it didn't grab me like I'd hoped. I can't comment what was better in the GC versions although I got the impression ppl weren't impressed with mechanics. Even personal tastes, idk how much I liked it. There were fun levels but incredibly short and some were beyond frustrating to nail. Overall never wanted to play more than maybe an hour at a time. Just my impression! Might pick up Rumble on a sale so still picques the interest in some way

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Soundtrack Now Available, But Only In Japan

@Pillowpants I don't disagree with you on listening on YT but "owning the game means owning the music" sounds a little off. Does the same go for movies as well? OK to just pirate any indie band whose music was featured in a film? I agree Nintendo is behind the times in providing a convenient way to listen to OSTs, go pirate as much as needed, but feeling entitled that you own the OST since you own the game doesn't sit right

Re: Capcom Currently Has No Plans To End Physical Game Support

@Roibeard64 good call on the separate players. I already have a modest blu ray collection of some essentials, randomly have a free player from a friend, and would probably get a new player if that one goes kerplunk. But as years go on I imagine the market will widdle down moreso, maybe not attracting as many starting a new collection and yeah, taking players out of the consoles would only make collecting more 'niche' or whatever

@Roibeard64 I don't have data or figures so dont even consider this an educated guess. I assume numbers aren't what they used to be, but part of me thinks (hopes) Bluray/dvd might survive the long haul. This is based solely on the amount of niche and re-released (including new cuts of) movies that publishing companies continue to roll out but may not be able to put out on major streaming services. All just a guess. I do understand ppl don't buy dvds casually like they used to

Re: Mailbox: Switch's Pokémon Woes, NSO's Value, First-Person Plurals - Nintendo Life Letters

@Anti-Matter I myself have played many online hours with friends and otherwise. The NSO games themselves are not ones I necessarily want to own (like how many more times do I need to play Donkey Kong Country?) But they're nice to have handy and I've tried many that I never played but would not have purchased if they weren't on NSO. I get the argument from many standpoints though, I've just gotten a lot of value from my time from it.

Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (Switch) - Even Better Than The Stellar Original

@Noelemahc at least for reviews, I think they isolate the game at hand from surrounding, non-gameplay issues. Rereleasing may be bad business but nothing further, in fact the changes are listed as a positive. Which is slightly different (I think) than when Nintendo re-releases are given 'cons' like they offer little content if you own the original version. I'm likely wrong or off course but I tried

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Needs More Characters Like Paper Mario's Vivian

@Beetlebum91 i see what you mean, but then it's like why even get on these Nintendo sites n such to begin with? NL soapboxes have writers reflect on games they play, sometimes it feels like on a molecular level. How many quirky ones from Kate n Co. have we seen on random subjects? Figure at some point they'd catch a topic of finding representation in a game. Idk I'm def not arguing, just random thoughts, don't think it's that far out there for a topic imo

@The_Pixel_King yeah they always copy n paste from the wrong one. Heres what famitsu says (according to g-translate):

7th place (previously 5th place) Switch Minecraft 4,189 copies (total of 3,537,779 copies) / Microsoft Japan / June 21, 2018,

8th place (previously 9th place) Switch Super Smash Bros. SPECIAL 3,875 copies (total of 5,513,822 copies) / Nintendo / December 7, 2018,

Re: LEGO Unveils 'Great Deku Tree 2-In-1' Zelda Set, Pre-Orders Now Available

I went down a rabbit hole to see how much one of the western Lego sets I had sold for in 1996. Msrp says 84.99 (i thought it was 99.99), which I believe makes it +/- $170 now. Nothing to sneeze at. So based off my very narrow thinking, given that this is a two-fer of a Nintendo product (although a tad paltry? Looks great though), I guess I can see where they got this price from. But ouch, that'd hurt the wallet
