Re: While Old Games Are Easily Delivered, Nintendo Is Focused On New Experiences, Says Miyamoto

CammyUnofficial

I've had this crappy theory a while, but I think Nintendo is not selling their old SNES n n64 titles individually because why would anyone buy a console after a switch if so? Ppl would have every game they'd ever wanna play at any time/on the go, theres no incentive unless you just want (or rather need) a more powerful switch in the future and thirsting for new games. But not everyone's like that (think more casual gamers), so for that the switch has the "on the go" tax (i.e. subscription) for these titles

Re: Switch Online Now Has Over 36 Million Subs, Nintendo Says It Will Continue To Improve Expansion Pack Tier

CammyUnofficial

@sixrings agree with all that and see how that is a step back for a lot of people. Stepping outside my gamer self, only 2 of the 5 games I do online are nintendo games and are the least I play (probably says something). The messaging and voice chat would seem like a given for the price, but who knows, corporations gonna corporate? A shame

I dont think you're old n cranky, leave that to me.

Re: Video: Square Enix Shares 20 Minutes Of Octopath Traveler II Gameplay Footage

CammyUnofficial

(Not so) hard pass. Its crazy how Octo 1 had awesome battle system, graphics, music but the writing and character development were so bad. Stories and premise are fine, but when every character is this chippy caricature and all characters go through the same arc (you could time it, honestly), the map for this adventure suddenly became instructions on a packet of mac n cheese.

Re: Backlog Club: Week Two, May - Getting SNEStalgic With Earthbound

CammyUnofficial

My problem was playing mother 3 before earthbound. I think every aspect of M3 was better than EB - the comedy, pacing especially, bond with characters, story, and a million things more - that I only had admiration for EB when I played it recently and nothing more. Glad it's out the backlog but don't think I'll return to it ever

Re: Video: Let's Dissect The New Splatoon 3 Trailer

CammyUnofficial

@HenHiro I think your last sentence is where ppl are saying your argument falls apart. Every 5 years vs 1 year doesnt make it comparable to Fifa in the sense of well Ninty isnt chugging this out year by year. If you bought 5 years worth of fifa that's what 300 bucks? Vs 2 splatoons at 120. Whether it's a true sequel (really having a hard time how you're defining it) is almost separate at that point

Re: Video: Let's Dissect The New Splatoon 3 Trailer

CammyUnofficial

@HenHiro ha yeah that was mom n pop's money way back when. In terms of comparing eras, my comparison isnt fair because nowadays with DLC and such it's not the same structure obviously. I just mean a lot of ppl (me ) might not hold too high a standard on explosive differences in games that offer the amount of content Splat does. All 2d zelda/castlevania games are the same to me, just a couple new gimmicks/weapons and revamped graphics. So definitely not dissing your thought, but I myself dont care and will get my moneys worth from this

Re: Nintendo Files New Patent Seemingly Linked To Splatoon

CammyUnofficial

@NinChocolate even zelda had link to past, links awakening, awakeningdx, oracles ages, seasons, and minish cap in a short period of time. Granted they had major leaps in their 3d titles during that same period, but any of the above to me are just the same with new gimmicks/weapons, which I feel splat 3 will be? I'm probably way off

Re: Nintendo Files New Patent Seemingly Linked To Splatoon

CammyUnofficial

@NinChocolate it is strange to me how ppl are kinda putting this one down and saying "just make it a dlc." I dont have too hard an opinion on it and cant force anyone to be excited about the game, but just not sure what they expect. Franchises pump out the same crud all the time at a more frequent rate. Cant put my finger on it

Re: Canadian Hacker Bowser Sentenced To Three Years In Jail For Crimes Against Nintendo

CammyUnofficial

@CharlieGirl "rage against the machine yeah dawg" "corporations boo occupy Nintendo" like honestly I dont even get where your argument is. Guy commits a crime (and whether you agree with it being a crime is irrelevant) and goes to jail for it. Happens all the time. I personally know someone who cheated a nice oil and gas company he worked for and did time, but I guess I should be against the boogeyman corporation in that case? I mean just a few hundred thousand dollars they can make up in minutes, so he should walk? Anyone (including you) buying a nintendo product is putting money into their lawyers pockets so that they can do EXACTLY this, and yet you somehow think theres some disconnect or are playing dumb to the fact that Nintendo cant be responsible for stuff they dont make. What if Nintendo gave this guy the OK to make these but on the side he was making other like offensive porno or something? think nintendo wants to be associated, or take the chance to be responsible when sh*t hits the fan for him? No, therefore they do this, which is in their rights. But no "ooo yuck CEO board meetings booo".

Re: Capcom Celebrates Street Fighter's 35th Anniversary With New Logo And "Future Development" Tease

CammyUnofficial

@Alztru I put in 850+ hours online with the 20th anniversary collection and it's a shame how the shoddiness took away from the experience at times. Obviously I had plenty of good times with it but I also had no signs of stopping. I agree the lobbies would prob be brimming if the overall connection was better, it's basically why I dont go on it anymore. I even tanked my Sf2 turbo ranking (which idgaf about anyway) from disconnecting out of crap connections. Overall positive experience from me but i feel ya

Re: Nintendo Reminds Us Splatoon 3 Is Coming To Switch

CammyUnofficial

@Bolt_Strike i understand you, although I myself am excited and hope there are some huge upgrades we haven't seen yet. But if there aren't and this is an overglorified dlc it'll probably still widen the splatoon audience much further than a DLC on a 5 year old game goes especially with kids (I'm thinking of some of the e game tourneys my teacher friends hold). Regardless, big $ for the big N

Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch

CammyUnofficial

Was 6 turning 7 on my first of a million playthroughs back in '95, was mindblowing at the time (its ff3 with time travel!). Couldn't say it's the best or my fave because its kinda just ingrained in me and not sure I'd play again, but definitely a special game to me, gonna watch this later
