I signed up for the playtest and I got in......3 day before it ended (but I didnt check my emails till a couple of days later) I didnt expect the EA to launch a week after tge playtest ended. Tempted.
@Starkiller987 Or just pick up a portable PC. Runs this and many others that stuggle on the switch at 60fps. (Dont get me wrong I still love the switch both for the 1st party/exclusives and even indie titles that I want physicals off)
SanDisk (as others have said) are reliable but provided you actually get one from a reputable source. Being probably the most widely recognized SD card brand also means that its probably the brand your most likely run into a fake copy of. I want to say Amazon are reliable but Ive brought a SD card that corrupted 30 mins after first trying to copy stuff on (yes it was supplied direct from Amazon)
But luckily they have decent customer service and they sent a replacement swiftly (free of charge)
Switch sales are going be pretty hard to beat no matter what but I do agree with the analyst to some extent.
The Switch 2 will need to do something different if they want a "gamble" at another 100+million seller.
A large percentage of switch owners will be of the younger demographic where its been given to them as a gift by parents that may not be gamers themselves.
I can imagine a parent saying to little Timmy. What can the switch 2 do that the Switch one you have cant.
Then you got the ever increasing number of hand held PCs. And whilst not entirely aimed at the same market. I can imagine if I was a 16 year old that had a switch for the past few years.....Id be asking for a "cooler" more powerful handheld OC
I agree but his statement is like 2-3 generations too late..........I feel like even during the PS3 era it was CGI heavy. You would have to go all the way back to the PS2 era for more gameplay centric trailers.
But then again I suppose its slightly different when it comes to Nintendo where gameplay centric trailers continued all the way to the WiiU era, I guess
Reminds me....wasnt Tsukihime supposed to get a Western release? Thats 2 supposedly Iconic VNs getting Western releases, decades later
Where you would have expected them to be some of the earlier titles to be release early days of the VN boom in the West.
Nvm the Tukihime is a of two original routes and not the whole thing. (Kinda like the FF7 remake vibe to me) My excitement for that has gone down lol
I honestly didnt think it was that demanding of a title to run. Im sure it ran 60fps with around 6-7 TPD on the Deck when I played it. Turn down the shadows and some other graphical setting it should hit a stable 30 as a minimum.
The game was decent with some memorable bosses. Whilst I didnt like it at the start for its parry heavy combat.....it did grow on me. I never did go back to play the first (?) free DLC....I never realised they continued releasing DLC though. The DLC is probably not enough to get me to return to the game instead of my backlog thou.
Is it going to be the directors cut version? I mean the dev went to describe the directors cut version with a completly different set of characters and just left it at that.
Edit it wasnt the dev but someone who attended an event.
But also one of the characters is in the current build at least (maybe more......i read one or two can evolve now but I havent seen it yet.....but I believe one is the skeleton which could be the same as the image showing the DC character screen)
Could be worse. I noticed the PS4 store has a load of shovelware titled "stroke my "x" .....with x being replaced with all kind of animals like fish/snake/hamster/cow/dog etc
The one that got me chucking (id admit) is the "stroke my dik-dik" lol.......which actually a cute little deer
Thank you for breifly describing the arragne modes......scouring the M2 website last week and on reddit/twitter it was so difficult to find any info on them.

With the combination of early switches being hackable and the whole PC switch emulator.......you would think Nintendo probably should have cut the generation short.
Switch 2 probably should have happened a couple of years ago to combat piracy.
Oh well at least we will end up with a more powerful successor overall.
@Kimyonaakuma I really dont understand. Rhythm Festival has a base set of songs as well. The subscription model is there for the dedicated. But you can also buy what you want "ala drum n fun" Its basically Drum N Fun with an extra optional sub model. (The biggest difference I suppose is you have the locked songs taunting you if you dont opt for the sub)
Music game fans are pretty dedicated....Konami has had both sub models and a pay per play components "ala arcade" for a number of their music titles on PC
I still have the original PS1 version. I imported it from the US mainly to experience it full speed no borders (plus you never knew which RPG actually got a port in EU)
I didn't love the game back then. (But did run through once with just claude) Probaby because it didnt hook me in instantly like Brave Fencer Mushashi did a few months earlier.
Id trade my PS1 verson and buy the remaster had I not have imported it orginally (Cex dont accept imports).......but as it stands Ill probably only oick it up if I see it on sale for a good price
Im waiting for the full release (I havent touched the 1st 2 chapters) Pixel art and chiptune music is timeless so it wont feel dated even if it tales 10 years to complete.
I very rarely return back to games Ive played previously (eg I never played the expansions on blasphemous or cuphead.....or any other indie title that releases free/paid updates)
So its unlikely Ill want to play through chapter 1/2 again. Despite them probably being replayable (eg undertale pacifist/non pacifist routes)
I could play the chapters as they come out but Im probably going to forget details though between the releases and end up feeing a bit disjointed for me (If I dont intend to return to older chapters) I suppose I could watch recap vids or something.........
Must say I dropped the game too (start of the 3rd? Act) But unlike others that dropped it for (bland characters) I actually dropped it because the combat/battles dragging on.
It feels like combat is pretty slow to begin with (probably because the most effective moves have prolonged sequences)
But when every other enemy can either call extra reinforcements or heal themselves.......it just dragged.
Probably one of my personal biggest gaming disappointments this year
@daveMcFlave For me the story is nothing to write home about whilst everything else is a bit by the numbers (though I do like its art style)
Whilst combat is decent......I have so many major gripes that I actually dont want to really engage in the combat. Namely there a bit too much combat....which by itself isnt an issue. But each battle takes a tad too long for my liking. Its partly to do with the time button presses where some of the most effective....just continue till you drop it. Very few enemies you can one shot.....meaning when you have 4 enemies it takes pretty much a minimum of 4 rounds. Now add in the fact that so many enemies can heal and call on comrades and combat begins to be a bit of a slog.
Thankfully Im using the relic that heals you after every battle....I really dont fancy grinding battles for stingy amouts of exp/cash/items use to craft healing supplies.
Honestly one of the bigger let downs for me of the year. Its just ok for me.......I honestly would probably prefered to spend my time playing something else had I not paid for it (and got it free on PS+ or something)
Ever since Beatmania IIDX 16 Emprees on the PS2 Ive been waiting konami to return to CS versions of Beatmania or Pop N music.
DJ DAO released new controllers for the PS4 era (which is ok for hatsune miku and betfer for DJ Max) but Im really just waiting for a new beatmania/pop N Music I can buy.
Everyone thats moderately interested in the bemani series of games juat grabs the arcade HDD rips. At least if they release new CS releases they can get some money unlike currently.....where everyone just pirates.
They really should made the hunt in lesser stores. (Brighton may be the exception) Imagine if they somehow boosted that small local ecomomy for the day. Your going to get chancers take a train. Buy some food or drink whilst there there and probably check out the local shops to see if theres cool independant shop.
The drip feeding of content (even when its free) just doesnt suit me. I very rarely return to titles once Im done (at whatever state uts at when I start it.....with the case of dead cells. I was done a month or two after the initial retail launch)
That said there probably just enough added to warrant me to return to the game, now that I just recently finished loopmancer (another action rogue lite)
@RasandeRose which suggests to me its just a timed exclusive. They probably know VN'ssell better on the Switch. Im surprised the didnt release it on a PS4/5 first then try and get double dippers with a portable Switch version.......so theres that to be thankful for, I guess.

Pretty expensive for what it is. I remember paying around £30 for Taito Legends 2 on the PS2 (almost 20 years ago)........that had around 40 games from Taito backcatalog Vs the 10 in this collection

Was looking for a Gungeon/BoI like game during the sales this week. I ended up picking 'Dead Estate' and 'Tiny Rogues'. But thanks for bringing my attention to AK-xolotl......instantly .
I kinda have a love hate relationship with the series. I love the anime like bits and some of the humour but when it comes to the whole war aspect......my brain switches off.
The whole double crossing, secret agent/identity trope is just a bit overused across the whole series. It got to the point that I was asking myself anyone that had voice acting......who they really could be really.
And due to the time between games Im stuggling to remember how characters know each other. Its bad enough with just the main characters but when it almost treats any minor character with almost as much significance.
Its a great series though......for those that are really invested in the character and complete and become invested in all side quests.
Ill be picking up reverie but Im definitely going be thing who were they again constantly through out.
The whole Nintendo ID along wifh the Nintendo account was a right mess for people with more than one 3DS Combined with the fact that only one Nintendo ID could be tied with one email.
I probably do have credit on one Nintendo ID account that I completly forgot about.
Thank god its just one unified account (which it should have been in the first place)
The ascending mechanic needs to change for me to jump back in. I understand its a core mechanic to the series but its just way too strict within the game.
You can just be walking up a slope and it kicks in. Climbing up walls just aint fun when you need to wait 20 secs every 6 leaps worth of height you climb.
Either make the recovery instant rather than a curve/shorten recovery time or something.
(Note I havent played enough to see if there are perks to improve these aspects already......I think Ive got down to the 3rd layer)
I tried to like it but it wasnt for me. I expected survival horror but it felt more point and click adventure to me (the puzzles were confusing with no direction.....I just ended up wandering the same few rooms before Inthought its not for me)
Fobia fit closer to what I think off when someone says survival horror (though its too has faults but at least I played it through to the end)
Ill return to Signalis when Im in the mood. But I dont think Ill like it enough to double up on a physical copy.
Honestly the game looks super generic (like a lot of game maker/rpg maker games)
I probably would have passed on the title instantly had it not been for this review. Now Im sure to added it to a wish list and check more reviews out when it reaches the right impulse buy price for me.
I would have probably just brought it at the right price but I purchased cross code because of praise ........but I never finished it because of the puzzly nature not gelling with me.
Currently on chapter 8 and its my suprise of the year. Suprisingly decent story for what I assumed it to be a farming simulator. And I love the sound track.
Sure combat is basic, farming is basic, cooking is basic etc but a whole package it works.
Initially I was going to blast through the story and call it a day but now Im grimding for screws and empty batteries becuase I want to explore everything in the game.
I pretty much put the story on hold for the past two season in game so I can grind for parts and expand my farm.
Only kinda gripe I have is that its probably a tad too long. If I take out the unnecessary grinding Id still have 40+ hrs on the clock (Im guessing im just a few hrs away from the story conclusion)
Honestly if I had to recommend a 2022 Switch JRPG to someone.....its a tough call between this or P5R
I so wanted to like it more than I did. I loved mullins previous two games (Pony Island is probably the game I always recommend new PC players every time)
But I just couldnt get into inscription in the same way. Maybe its because Im bad at card games but it took me so long to complete my first run. I took me a while to figure out OP tactics. I think because it took me to complete the my first run (probably 15+ attempts....runs lasted what felt like 30mins each time) that it overstayed its welcome for me.....that I still havent completed it fully.
@Nintendo4Sonic They probably just dont have the confidence that the title would sell enough to justify the port costs. Id not lazyness its just making calculated choices.
@durrdevil I dunno where your getting this info from (that said I didnt watch the vid)
But the first title update deffo wasnt a full 11GB So I cant imagine the 2nd one to be either.
Personally I havent hunted the new monsters from the first title update more than a handful of times That said the new qurio crafting has more than held my attention. Unless the implement some other big feature I cant say Id jump back in for the update.......had I stopped playing the title to begin with.
Im hoping the big game play feature will be qurio crafting talismen of some sort or being able to swap silk bind attacks in any configuration (rather than the you have to have one from each list)

Doubt it. Crisis core areas are vastly smaller and more basic than FF7 remakes areas.
I doubt they would be willing to do heavy image compression and optimizing to cater the Switches more limited ram.
At best you might get a steaming version
Re: Review: Chained Echoes - One Of The Very Best RPGs Of The Year
Honestly the game looks super generic (like a lot of game maker/rpg maker games)
Re: Harvestella Producer Open To Future Entries, But Needs Fan Support
Re: Atooi's 'Run Box Run' Will Be Free If You Own Any Of Its Previous Switch Games
I wont complain because its free for me.......but I definitely wouldnt pay for this.
It might get a quick 5 mins play at a family gathering at best.
I only clicked on the topic because of the mention of 'Atooi'
Re: Critically Acclaimed 'Inscryption' Gets Rated For Switch
I so wanted to like it more than I did.
I loved mullins previous two games (Pony Island is probably the game I always recommend new PC players every time)
But I just couldnt get into inscription in the same way. Maybe its because Im bad at card games but it took me so long to complete my first run.
I took me a while to figure out OP tactics.
I think because it took me to complete the my first run (probably 15+ attempts....runs lasted what felt like 30mins each time) that it overstayed its welcome for me.....that I still havent completed it fully.
I do intend to continue playing.......one day.
Re: It Takes Two Switch Physical Version Appears To Require A Download
@Nintendo4Sonic
They probably just dont have the confidence that the title would sell enough to justify the port costs.
Id not lazyness its just making calculated choices.
Re: After Endless Delays and Empty Words, Dispatch Games Is Seemingly Dead
I was chasing up info on Psyviar Delta a few years back but ended up giving up and picking the Asian Version.
I must admit I have been tempted by other Shumup that they planned to release (eg.having like missed the LRG release of Game Tengoku)
But luckily I had the experience with Psyviar Delta otherwise I might been in the group of disappointed customers.
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Teases Free Title Update 2, Landing Next Month
@durrdevil
I dunno where your getting this info from (that said I didnt watch the vid)
But the first title update deffo wasnt a full 11GB
So I cant imagine the 2nd one to be either.
Personally I havent hunted the new monsters from the first title update more than a handful of times
That said the new qurio crafting has more than held my attention.
Unless the implement some other big feature I cant say Id jump back in for the update.......had I stopped playing the title to begin with.
Im hoping the big game play feature will be qurio crafting talismen of some sort or being able to swap silk bind attacks in any configuration (rather than the you have to have one from each list)
